You ever wonder what it’s like to be wooed by a Cowboy Casanova? No, well know this, he’s like a drug, when he embeds himself into your system, you can’t live without him. My Cowboy Casanova’s name is Deacon Hiram Fairhope.
He’s been called Fairhope’s bad boy, the reckless playboy, a manwhore, a slut, a liar and womanizer. None of those titles mean a damn thing to me because one, He gets things done and two, the only title that matters, or rather did matter was being my best friend.
I don’t want that anymore. I’ve broken Deacon’s heart one too many times but I plan on mending it and taking care of it for the rest of my life. I’ve come up with an elaborate scheme, pretend that I’m engaged and have him as my man of honour. What Deacon doesn’t know is that I'm planning our wedding. I'm going to marry Deacon Fairhope if it’s the last thing I do.
He better be ready for me… This Christmas, he’s going to be my very own Mr. Mistletoe.
King Ellie discovered her love for dark romance through reading and as she read more and more of them, she discovered that this was the genre she wanted to write in. The antiheroes and what others would classify as villains, she sees them as an opportunity to show what a hurt, heartbroken male who is seen as anything but can love harder. The heroines get a chance to be loved deeply and only by the antiheroes. Love isn't always just black and white... it's a spectrum of color.

My Speculation:
From the read "Mr. Mistletoe," one can tell that these two Deacon and Kimberly were the perfect couple; however, it will take a minute before this will happen for them. Why was that? Had Kimberly been hiding a secret for a long time? Now, she had a plan that would cause one to wonder will it come true for what she had planned? Well, to find out what she had planned for Deacon, You will have to pick up this read and see how things will all work out for them. Be ready for lots of 'emotions, laughter, heartache to sweet everlasting love.'
It never ceases to amaze me how grown folks have problems communicating. Just say whatever it is you need, are feeling, what's wrong, etc. If the person doesn't understand, help them to. After years of running away, Kimberly finally went after her man, Deacon. Even then, she wasn't altogether truthful. However she finally came clean. Decon had been in love with Kimberly for years. She left him to go to medical school, thereby breaking is heart. When she returned home to her best friend Deacon, she'd asked him to stand up for her at her wedding. Little did he know he was in for a huge surprise. I enjoyed this story.
Deacon Fairhope aka demi God Baldr, knew that Kimberly was hiding something. She'd already broke his heart years ago when she left for med school. He'd been in love with her since he was ten years old. He tried to move on but couldn't. Now she had the nerve to come home with a fiance. He was determined to break that up. Kimmie was his.
Kimberly always knew she loved her best friend Deacon Hiram Fairhope. But she had to leave as she was only a shell of herself when she lost her father. She had to heal her spirit and soul before She could have another chance with being with Deacon. His mistrust of her after two heart breaks was a bumpy road. They belonged together and they could conquer th e world as long as freedom had his Makita by his side.
I gave this book three stars, which is rare for me, because I was confused so much. The use of full names throughout the whole book was excessive. Then, the calling folks by their middle names did not make it any less confusing. There were too many characters with starring roles for the size of this book. I really loved the premise and if fleshed out, it would have been a higher rating. The characters were high schoolish. I am interested in the best friend and brother. I feel this book served as an introduction to what could become other books. All in all, the premise is really good. Hopefully, we can get a more fleshed out sequel to really get me invested.
Deacon and Kimberly, what a couple. This couple belonged together but they both had to go through some things before they could be together. I love Kimberly's idea of making him think she was marrying someone else when they wedding was really for them. This definitely could have gone wrong quickly but they made it work. I love the residents of Fairhope so far and I can't wait to hear some of the others stories.
When I started reading this I was wondering where this story was going. A god killed by mistletoe, reborn in the present with no memory of who he really was, until....I leave that two the reader to find out. This is a love story that literally starts at birth, that is of our h who our H loves dearly. Some of the characters seem to go by more than one name, including Charity, just one of her names. So I was confused at time who was who, but it was still a unique story.
I am the type of reader that may not always read the synopsis first. Don't think I would have read this interesting take on "the gods." But I really enjoyed this "I am getting married and you just don't know it to you." I'm now hooked and need to read about Arden and Espen.
I am very disappointed 😔. I didn’t know what was going on in this book. The entire story seems rushed, the storyline was dumb. There isn’t any cohesiveness to the plot, the chemistry between KIMBERLY & DEACON was Whack! I finished this novella feeling confused and like I aforementioned disappointed.
Ok so I of course loved raising boom and finished it in one day but I must say I'm sad it ended so soon I hate that it was so short but still it had everything in it that all her other books 📚 had in it.
OMG this love story took me through so many emotions!!!!!! Laughter, heart ache, then back to laughter, then downright sexiness!!! All I can say is everyone needs a Deacon Fairhope in their life!!!!!
That was a short, sweet read, and since I met Mamita and Deac through Aspen and Arden, it makes it even sweeter. Deacon, you are awesome and I know that you will take good care of Kimberly and make beautiful demigod babies. 👍
Love Deacon and Kimmie. Never bet on another woman's husband!!! C'mon Now. The only part of the book that gets me is the idea that you can 'earn' your man by faking a whole engagement to another man. Loved them nonetheless, they're a fun couple.
Although this was short, it had the right amount of drama, humor, and romance. Even though this is a standalone book, I loved how the story incorporated characters and locations from previous stories.
My mom recommended this book o me and I loved it! Wasn’t expecting the god angle at all. I didn’t read the synopsis so I don’t know if it’s mentioned there. It was a delightful surprise. Great read!
This book was really good, although I don't know how I feel about having a fake fiance while planning your wedding to your bestfriend...the man you really love???
This was very confusing was Deacon really Mistletoe what was Kimberly roll in his adult life. This leaves me with who what when and why. Not a good read.
This is a really great read. Had to slow down and savor it. Deacon and Kimberly have great chemistry, passion and this deep love for each other. I highly recommend this read and can't wait to read more from this author.
This story was a pleasure to read. Kimmie has the nerve to plan a wedding for the man she left. Twice. He's so messed up over her he doesn't even realize it, though he sees her all the time and even helps. Their HEA was worth the waiting. Looking forward to more from this author.
