The whole team is investigating...Trying to find anything that can point them to the derelict who can kill a beautiful, well loved woman without a thought or look back...

Bodies are falling .... a sniper is on the loose .. and he has an agenda.

Two business executives from the same company are killed within hours of each other. And the killer isn't done yet.

DI Katy Foster and DC Charlie Simpkins are investigating when one of them becomes a target. Katy has to bow out of the investigation because of a family emergency, leaving Katy to partner with their supervisor.

An excellent addition to this series, although third in the series, this one is easily read as a stand alone. Charlie Simpkins is front and center and it's good to see her start to shine on her own. She's developing some self confidence and showing what she's made of. There are several suspects amid some twists and turns that are unexpected.

Many thanks to the author for the digital copy of this crime fiction. Read and reviewed voluntarily, opinions expressed here are unbiased and entirely my own.

Katy and Charlie are back with a particularly tough case to crack. Whilst the last couple of books focused on the crime solely, within this one we get a mix of not only home life but also the working relationships within the force.

We get to see a bit more of Roberts, the main man in charge. I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with his character as at times he can be quite harsh but then also quite nice in the next breath. I get the impression is quite a lonely old soul and means well but seems to result in winding everyone up instead. The reader included!

It doesn’t take the police long to discover who is behind the shootings, catching them is the hard part though. This is a story where you really feel for the victims loved ones and the loss they are having to endure. Especially as the body count starts to mount up.

Shot of Silence has plenty going on within the story to keep the reader entertained. The characters are what really make this series for me. As with the original Justice series, the author has created well rounded protagonists who will appeal to the reader and will have you caring as much about their personal lives as their working ones. An edge of your seat read and another great book in the series.

My thanks to the author for an advanced readers copy of this book. All opinions are my own and not biased in anyway.

This started out slower for me than most of the authors other books and I thought for a moment this was going to be a miss for me.

I was so glad I stuck with it as after a few chapters this got so good that I couldn't out it down.

Seeing the family side of the cops lives is always great and I find I like Charlie a lot more. While she is not the main focus of the series this book she really was the one to prove herself.

She reminds me of Lorne her mother and another amazing character but I find that I am falling more for Charlie as she is learning how to become a cop so you see more growth from her.

Slow burner for this book but was so amazingly good.

I think this is the book I've been waiting for in this new Justice Again series. For its the one for reasons you may not expect that DC Charlie Simpkins has to take on a slightly larger role, and it was great to see.

It's what I've been wanting and I'm going to be even more curious as to how Charlie's dynamics with the rest of the team develop as she continues in her development.

Oh and there is a serial killer with a sniper gun on the loose, who we very early on get the hint that they want to play games with the police or at least keep them on their toes, and you know things will escalate rather quickly with that sort of intent.

I almost have to admire this killer for just how ballsy they are - and then I remember they are a murderer and thus should only be despising them.

It's a rather tricky case for Katy and Charlie to solve and not for the first time, have I thought how glad I am that I'm not in the police, as I would never be able to think the way they do, and work out even the basics of where to start, let alone come up with a plan of action.

I've said it before but I'll say it again, I'm out of superlatives for M A Comley, such is not only her skill at writing these books but the speed of them too, which all adds up to one impressive author.

Thank you the author for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

Grace Hunt had no known enemies, how could she have she was a loving wife and mother who got on with everyone she met. Yet she was savagely mowed down by a sniper's bullet. The first thing that had to be ascertained was, was she the intended target or just in the wrong place at the wrong time? When Katy and Charlie arrived at the scene it was mayhem and they knew immediately that they had their work cut out finding the perpetrator with nothing to go on. Little did they know that this was just the beginning. I found this a thrilling edge of your seat read that I read in two sittings.

I am so very glad that the author decided to continue this series after Lorne left the force. I say continued - it's not really continued - more of a spin off really. One that I pounce on and devour every new book as soon as I can get my grubby mitts on them...
Usual series rules apply - and with only the two books to play catch-up with - you really have no excuse. I can recommend every one as a cracking read so... why wouldn't you? If you really want to go the whole hog though, you could also play proper catch up - super catch up if you like - and go back and read all the previous series too - I lost track of how many main and inbetweenies there are of them though!
Anyhoo... so... with Charlie about to sit her Sargent's exams, the last thing she need is a killer on the loose. Sadly, this is exactly what she gets and, along with boss Katy, gets stuck in to the investigation.
A wife and mother has tragically lost her life in front of her place of employment. Gunned down by what looks like a lone sniper. She had only just completed a shopping trip in her lunch time with husband and kids and had returned to snatch a snack at her desk. Was she a target or was this an opportunistic death - wrong time and place. Katy and Charlie begin their investigation at the office, interviewing the deceased's co-workers. they seem to be going round in circles though... but then the killer strikes again...
I have nearly run out of words to describe how much I love this author's books. I have been there right from the start - almost the first series I really got stuck into when I got my first Kindle nearly 10 years ago.
Characters are excellently described - both series and episode, main and extras - and all act their parts very well. Interaction between them is perfect and feels completely real and also includes the author's trademark most excellent banter. Pacing is darned near perfect and fits the narrative every step of the way and the story gets on with itself very will with not a single word of padding.
All in all a cracking addition to not only an impressive series but a more than impressive back catalogue. Roll on next time - whoever it may feature...

Grace had met her family for lunch and they spent some precious time together doing Christmas present shopping. She was almost back at work when she fell to the floor after a loud noise. DI Katy Foster and DC Charlie Simpkins got the call to attend the scene. Frank, the doorman, had heard the gunshot but didn’t know where it had come from. It appeared Grace was well liked and didn’t appear to have any enemies according to her husband Toby who was in bits when Katy broke the news to him.

Katy and Charlie headed back to Zedex to interview Grace’s work colleagues to see if there was anything they could gather from them. While they were interviewing Andrea, she divulged details of a run-in Grace had with a client who then complained about the way she had handled his account. She passed his details over, it was over a million pounds that he had lost and he blamed Grace. They were then interrupted by shouts from the hallway, ‘What is going on’. Colin’s door was open and Katy found him on the floor in a pool of blood, he had been shot twice. Charlie made sure the staff moved away to safety while Katy called for help from the station. She then looked cautiously out the window, when something on a rooftop opposite caught her attention so she took off running towards the lift.

Down on the street, she located the building she wanted and managed to find her way to the rooftop where she hid behind a low wall. There was a masked man on the roof but when she aimed her taser at him, he kicked it out of her hand then hit her in the chest and head with the butt of his rifle. Katy lost consciousness for a bit and when she came round the roof was clear. She carried on working against the doctors orders although she shouldn’t have.

The next morning, they got greeted by another shooting. This guy had been shot six times. Could it be connected?

Absolutely loved this book! The characters work so well together and the writing is so descriptive, you can picture the story unfolding in your head. The author has a great imagination and her writing is going from strength to strength.

Book 3 of Justice Again Series

11.O1.21 Goodreads Review
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Fast paced thriller.  Highly Revommended.

I was so disappointed when the first seriously gripping series ended with the retirement of the lead character but am now thrilled to find that this sub-series has formed a seamless transition and is building up to be as exciting as its predecessor.

Book three is another fast paced, tense and page turning story in this exciting spin-off Series. After the incredible Lorne Simpkins retired, re-married and started running a dog rescue with her new husband, Katy was promoted to replace Lorne and is now working with Charlie, Lorne's daughter from her first marriage, who decided to follow in her mother's footsteps and is now about to sit her Sergeant's exam. Katy's Husband, AJ, is an ex policeman and a house husband who looks after their little daughter, Georgie, and is about to start a new business venture.

Katy and Charlie are called out to what appears to be the cold blooded shooting of a young mother outside her place of work   The young woman appears to be well liked, respected by her peers and in a stable and happy relationship.  It seems like a random and motiveless killing until another member of staff is shot in his office at the same company.

As it would be unfair of me to spoil this breath taking cat and mouse story with too much information, I will just say that it had me totally enthralled and the ending was completely unexpected.  Highly Recommended.

Book 3 in the Justice Again series and as always with this author a well written and thoroughly enjoyable book.

Briefly, a lone sniper is gunning people down and it soon becomes clear to the police that all the targets are connected. DI Katy Foster is running the investigation until a personal issue means taking compassionate leave. So her partner DC Charlie Simpkins takes over, supported by a senior officer. Can they catch the sniper before he/she strikes again?

There are enough twists and turns to hold your interest plus as always a good smattering about the detectives personal lives and relationships. Recommended.

The third in the Justice Again series and it just gets better and better. In this book the team are investigating the murder of Grace Hunt, a popular wife, mother and friend, by a lone sniper’s shot. Puzzled and with nothing to go on, a further shooting occurs. The hunt for the killer is fast-paced and thrilling as the pressure builds.

I enjoy seeing the working relationships grow in DI Katy Foster’s team, which are put to the test when Katy’s daughter is taken to hospital and DC Charlie Simpkins has to step up to the role, supported by DCI Roberts. No mean feat as Roberts is a taskmaster.

I highly recommend this as M A Comley never fails to keep me engrossed in her books.

Shot of silence ( justice again book 3)

I love keeping up with this series, Charlie is keeping thing going after her mom
retired and to know Kate has taken over for her is awesome. This book was incredible, full of drama, suspense, action, just what I love reading and keeping me wanting to know what happens next. Scary and sad to, plus AJ is still a part of this new series along with Brandon. I can't not wait to see what happens next.
Looking forward to reading more of this exciting series.

This series just keeps getting better and better. Katy and Charlie take on a tough case when a woman is shot dead. Grace had no known enemies and appeared to be well liked by everyone who knew her. Who would want her dead? As the body count begins to increase, Katy and Charlie face a race in time to catch the villain and stop the deaths.

Another fantastic book in this series. It’s lovely to see Katy and Charlie working side by side to solve their cases although this one has been taken to the next level with Charlie having to take on more responsibility whilst Katy sees to her sick child.
A fabulous read and looking forward to many more.

M A COMLEY

We are back with Katy and Charlie.
There has been a shooting, so off they go to investigate.

This got my attention as soon as they met Patti, at the scene.
Now I’m thinking, what happened?

As always, I couldn’t put is down.

M A Comley certainly knows how to keep us

Things take off fast in this book by MA Comley.
A shooter intent on revenge is stalking people, why though?
What could make someone act in this horrific way.
Katy & Charlie are on the case, even though they’ve their own hurdles to battle.
Fabulous series & great characters.

Loves the main characters but sadly this book was rather too predictable and lacked substance. I guessed the plot and killer before getting half way through the book which was disappointing.
Still enjoyable but not one of the authors best

Who would want to kill Grace Hunt, a loving wife, mother and great work colleague? Katy and Charlie have their work cut out on finding who is going on a shooting spree.

With personal issues for Katy and Charlie cramming in revision time for her sergeant’s exams, this is an overwhelming and frantic case.

I am really enjoying the relationship between Katy and Charlie. I love the little moments of humour even in a dark case.

The story has great depth and feeling and yet again, the author has managed to bring a few tears to my eyes. You can always guarantee quality writing from this author and I will drop everything to read her latest books. If you haven’t read any yet then I would recommend giving them a go.
