The struggle to survive, reunite and fight the deadly waters continues in Deluge Book 4.
*****
Put in place to try and fix the the melting ice caps, the Exobot project was supposed to be our salvation.
It became our destruction instead.
In the space of a few hours, most of the world's land masses - including over 95% of the United States - have been covered with water. Billions are dead, governments are in chaos, and the few survivors left are literally treading water, trying to find the few bits of dry land left.
In the midst of the chaos, family ties, determination and the sheer will to live will be the only protection against the complete annihilation of mankind.
I write post apocalyptic science fiction both on my own account and with Mike Kraus, as well as space opera and fantasy. And one or two other bits and bobs.
Based in the south of England, I've been writing since my teens, alternating between funny and serious. In the mid 1990s, I became a regular columnist for PC Pro magazine and have written a number of business and craft books over the years.
Fiction is my first love, however - I hope you enjoy my voyages into an uncertain future.
I'm going to start off with the positive part first. The idea of the story is great and it's well written. I've enjoyed the action and the pacing. Honestly, I gave 5 stars to be nice, but if we're being honest, it would be a 3. There are a few issues, though. The number of dysfunctional and frankly unhealthy character relationships are a bit much to the point where it's off-putting. Eve's backstory doesn't quite justify her actions, Ellie and Sam's origins are just wtf when it comes to Maria, and every single other relationship is at best a little too tense and/or slightly unbelievable. It's distracting from the main plot which is actually good, but it doesn't truly make me want to continue reading the Seri and makes me worry about the author a bit. Also, Branson is north of Arkansas in Missouri. Maybe it was meant to be a fictional Branson, Arkansas. With the regional closeness of Branson, Missouri to the part of Arkansas that would support the location of the farm, that gets distracting too. It's especially so if the reader is familiar with the area of the Ozark Mountain Range. The author has talent, and I have mostly enjoyed the story though.
Book 4 of the exciting post-Apocalyptic survival series Deluge, by Kevin Partner and Mike Kraus, Ice tells how ice-caps are reforming and how this will also affect the previously drowned global mainland catastrophically.
Overhead, the International Space Station's crew observe the spread of ice already covering vast areas and bringing yet more devastation. Yuri, Brady and Mikhail conceal vital research and fight back against two spacecraft, supposedly sent to 'rescue' them back to Earth...by a foreign super-power. What happens next?
Strange alliances, unsuspected enemies and traitors, selflessness and bravery, families destroyed and sometimes surviving against all the odds, Ice, Book 4 in Mike Kraus and Kevin Partner's gritty, survival against the climate adventure challenges series, Deluge has it all and more.

This fourth episode in the Deluge series brings the International Space Station into the story as well as providing further “adventures” of the main characters on each coast. Bobby gets involved in another endeavor that sees him separated from his group. Ellie, Patrick and Jodi are headed to the west coast, and Buzz and Max end up back on Buzz’s farm. The level of action and intrigue jumps several degrees in this episode and makes it an interesting read.
Book 4 continues the series, but at least there is now a character I finally like...Yuri. I hope that means he is not doomed. There are still some editing issue (it is spelled Sheriff and not Sherriff). I plan to continue the series, mostly to find out who actually caused the disaster and why and find out what happens to Max and Yuri.
First the ice melts causing 80% of the world under water. 80% of the population dead. USA split in two, all seen in the space station above the earth. One country remains, China.
The survivors are getting a handle on what is coming. Buzz is going to have to be smart about finding out what went wrong. The other survivors are going to have to get ready to kick ass.
I really enjoyed this book and can’t really believe the twist it took. I won’t give any spoilers but just believe me when I say the authors mind is brilliant. I never would have guessed the turn of events. Now on to the next one in the series to see what happens next.
Unbelievable how fantastic this story was. Space Stations and ice caps and what happens. I couldn’t stop reading until I finished the entire book in one sitting.
