Rate this book
A story of love amongst betrayal and conflict.

The light fae warrior, Princess Rella, has sought the help of the Dark Emperor to rescue her brother, but the emperor demands a price she can never pay. Thus starts a series of events that will lead to love, betrayal, a resurgence of dragons, and a world at war.

Dagstyrr of Halfenhaw refuses to return home without rescuing his three light fae brothers from an impregnable citadel. Born of a light fae mother and human father, he is the only brother with no magic—Dagstyrr is human.

When hope of a way into the citadel comes from an unlikely source, he jumps at the chance. He has no idea that they are now addicted to dragon’s blood—and that’s not the only surprise in store for him.

Dark Fae By Jane Armor

This book is well written, I really enjoy the language used through out. It would have been nice to have a bit more scenery and get to know the places a bit more but, there is enough to understand what is being shown.

While I knew it was coming the romance still felt thrown in rather then built up. It pops up almost out of nowhere, small hints here and there, with little interaction to show where it’s coming from.
While I have enjoyed reading the last part where you can see more of how they are together, I just wish there was more of that before the big whole “I WANT YOU” moment.

Each character is well written and been a joy to get to know. They could have been fleshed out a bit more.
Especially 😖 Rella!! I would love to know why she is loyal to a place that didn’t want her around in the first place. Maybe that will come in the second book 😁

Overall I have enjoyed the first book and about to start the second. 😊😊

Dnf 42%. I didn’t like the FMC, she bipolar. One sentence the book is going good and the next she’s being a b*. And she kept yelling a the MMC, human! While all he’s done is help her and be nice. And how randomly after like 2 days at sea, he loves her. Come on….

🐲🐲ONE INCREDIBLE DELIGHT🐲🐲
Dangerous dragons! Jane brought out the heavy artillery with this thrilling little number, delivering this heart pounding pulse racing block buster, hooking you from the start and reeling you in for the duration, wrapping this jewel up sleek, shiny and tight. A raging tempest of vexing mishaps and perplexing events, observe the arduous trials and daring triumphs, alongside the dramatic twists and intricate turns, putting our characters through their paces, testing them in ways they nerve saw coming. Dynamics and presentation in layer upon layer that you peel back with each page your drawn into this web so profoundly until everything else ceases to exist. Boundaries are amplified and shattered, baring the harsh facts, ruthless deals and freeing fiascos, booting this baby into the eye of the storm, slamming it into a frenzy with an astonishing culmination. The characters are complex and genuine with traits and qualities that add depth and realism, blend and flow transforming into relatable personalities. The scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and descriptions that feel as though you were transported to ground zero with them. Remarkable job Jane, thanks for sharing this lil' fella with us.

2.5 ⭐️

I liked it a lot, particularly the first half of the book. Just launched in very in media res. Lot of show don’t tell, and also just enough waiting to let us know what was happening with the suspense drawing on for four books. Definitely harkening more on the high fantasy storytelling side, less personal connection to the main characters.

Sometimes the writing was a bit clunky, and I had a hard time connecting character emotions and subsequent decisions/actions with what was presented to them.

Loved the dragons though, loved how it felt different in some ways than a lot of the books I stumble across in this genre.

I enjoyed this book. It wasn’t only about fae. There were medieval castles, royalty, dragons, mountain trolls, and great sailing ships on long sea voyages. Behind all this, there was a deep and abiding love of family, as well as ultimate betrayal by family. And above all, it was a slow road to a deep relationship where one person is willing to make a deep sacrifice for the other. There was a lot of adventure in this book, which kept me hooked! I thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to more by this author.

This was clean until the end--even then the sex scene wasn't overly detailed. Well written with twists I didn't see coming. It is a cliff-hanger, but there was enough of a satisfying ending not to be irksome. Looking forward to reading the conclusion.

Enthralling read

I really liked the story. The characters were interesting and learning their backgrounds brought many different aspects to life. I really loved the ebb and flow between Rella and Dagstyr.

"She was unlike any woman he’d ever known, and he was starting to care deeply about her. “"

Based on what! Talk about INSTALOVE. All they've done is escape a dungeon together and now they're on a ship.

Interesting storyline! Kinda hard at the beginning to get through the chapters though.

Double check trigger warnings.
