When Bobbie and Grayson head back to Plant City to help out an old friend, they run into a “hole” new set of problems.
While investigating a rash of missing persons, it’s not long before they begin to get under each other’s skin. What’s making them all hot and bothered?
Each other. In more ways than one.
Bobbie’s down-to-earth explanations for the missing people irritate Grayson, while his otherworldly theories have her itching for a sane solution.
But when new, conflicting evidence emerges in the case, they soon realize they’ve only scratched the surface of the mystery at hand.
Why do I love underdogs? Well, it takes one to know one.
Like the main characters in my novels, I haven’t lead a life of wealth or luxury. In fact, as it stands now, I’m set to inherit a half-eaten jar of Cheez Whiz…if my siblings don’t beat me to it.
During my illustrious career, I’ve been a roller-skating waitress, an actuarial assistant, an advertising copywriter, a real estate agent, a house flipper, an organic farmer, and a traveling vagabond/truth seeker. But no matter where I’ve gone or what I’ve done, I’ve always felt like a weirdo.
I’ve learned a heck of a lot in my life. But getting to know myself has been my greatest journey. Today, I know I’m smart. I’m direct. I’m jaded. I’m hopeful. I’m funny. I’m fierce. I’m a pushover. And I have a laugh that lures strangers over, wanting to join in the fun.
In other words, I’m a jumble of opposing talents and flaws and emotions. And it’s all good.
I enjoy underdogs because we’ve got spunk. And hope. And secrets that drive us to be different from the rest.
So dare to be different. It's the only way to be! Happy reading!
This book is full of a lot of science and insanity and something else. It is just as much fun as the previous stories and reminded me why I'd rather read about Florida than live there. I'm not very adventurous and Scatman Dues is full of them, each more preposterous than the last. I really lived vicariously though and look forward to the next.
Another brilliant adventure for Bobbie & Grayson. I love this series, it genuinely makes me smile, grin & laugh throughout. It's totally, utterly zany and off the grid weird. I feel like I must have qualified as some sort of quantum physics student after reading them all. Great entertainment! 😄
This adventure takes us deep into the Florida woods, where men have begun to disappear. Bobbie and Grayson intend to find out what’s happening to them. When cousin Earl and prepper Garth lend a hand, things get a bit crazier than usual. Bobbie is sure she can only put on her big girl panties so many times before the elastic breaks. The plot is brilliant and the characters are well-drawn and extremely quirky. The writing flows smoothly and keeps you focused. The ending surprised me! I’m looking forward to Ms. Lashley’s future work. I received this book free and chose to make a voluntary, unbiased review.
This book had all the oddities you’ve come to love about this series. The crazy ups and downs with Earl tagging along. However, just when you think you have this all figured out the reader is thrown a curveball that will leave you with a mix of emotions. You will be wanting to read the pages faster to discover if the pit in your stomach is here to stay or it this another adventure that needs to unfold to understand its impact. Eventually you will know the question is will you be happy with the outcome.
Presumably the last stop on the Freaky Florida Mystery Tour may be the greatest roadtrip stop of them all. The story does a terrific job of tying the series together, leaving you with hope in your heart, a smile on your face and a giant dose of heartburn. While the elusive Florida Man was never fully studied (at least I didn't think there was a comprehensive examination of Earl), the motivation of that primitive, yet completely uncomplicated species was highlighted quite nicely throughout this and past novels. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
This was book 6 in the "Freaky Florida Mystery Adventures" series. This was a really good read and my favorite so far in this series. Bobbie and Grayson head back to Plant City to help out some old friends when they run into some problems. While investigating some missing person cases they start getting on each others nerves. This is a really good book with a lot of laughs and more weird and wacky characters. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
Bobby and Gray are called back to help Garth whose brother has disappeared in the swamp. Garth was so shook up he wouldn't talk on the phone. Even the waitress from the diner across from the park was worried about the group headed into the swamp. Because her cousin had gone in to take his normal walk, never to return. Between the food, tootsie roll pops, pop tarts and hijinks of Earl overconsuming Fried Crullers the RV will never be the same.
I read all 6 books Being born & raised in North Central Florida, I had to see what this whole series was about ... Not sure I know, but enjoyed every page. And yes, I went to high school in St. Petersburg FL and attended University of Florida and the author is right on the money about the Sunshine State and its inhabitants! Sincerely yours, a Florida Cracker
If you have read all the books so far, you know that Bobbie, the private eye intern has been on several adventures with Nick Grayson who is helping her earn her private eye license. Along the way Bobbie has become romantically attracted to Nick and despairs that he doesn’t feel the same way toward her. Well finally he has kissed her and intimated that he has an attraction to her too. Can’t wait to see how this turns out as I’ve been hoping they would find each other!
This book has a plot line that ricochets like a drunk moth. A lot of very bad jokes that make me laugh as the story zigs and zags. Maybe I’m getting tired of the silliness and improbable saves but this book seems to be not as funny as the earlier titles.
I loved this book the most as I am a fan of the Amazing Sandi. The story is great but near the ending was even better. I hope that there will be another book in this series.
I have read all of Margaret Lashley's books and just like the others, this one did not disappoint!! Drex, Grayson, and Earl are up to their usual zaniness!! Donut miss out lol!!!
You gotta love this series! It is so far out and wacky, with so many twists and turns and some of the most wild characters. This series is so much fun! On to the next in this series! I cannot get enough!
This is one of my favorite book series. Scatman Dues is once again a joy to read, but watch out for the last few chapters, your head will spin when Miss. Langley sets the hook again!
This series keeps me awake at night and the best part is I worry I'll wake my husband with my laughter. Always an out there story with truth to find. Fun light reading.
