I always considered mythology and suspense-thriller as two different genres before picking this riveting read which seamlessly combines both ends of the spectrum and succeeds voraciously.
Manu is just another boy deeply interested in reading religious scriptures and other such tales until one day a cursed character from an epic saga comes to meet him and takes him to a different world where Manu can witness final reincarnation of Lord Vishnu - Kalki Avtaar. His life experiences a vigorous turnaround after this incident and it becomes a question of life and death for the humanity.
The book cover is sensational. The character of Manu is prodigiously carved and readers get to witness the world from his lenses. The narration skills of author is on point. Waiting for the further parts of the book to unravel more adventures and mysteries in the life of Manu.
⛵ I have read/ love to read books with references to Shambala, Kalachakra, People living inside the Earth, Fairies, Magical land, Ancient people being more advanced than us, Ashoka and his Nine Unknown, the Immortals of Hinduism, Parallel Universe, Kalki Avtar, the great Deluge and the like. This book has all of these elements put together, painstakingly written.
⛵The very idea of this marvelous plot by the author has to be appreciated and he has tried his best to put a lucid explanation.
⛵ I was actually in the verge of giving it up and did really regret for picking up this book, somewhere in the middle where I felt so dragging and some of the explanations deliberately over-elaborated and some complicated (perhaps, I was not grasping quick enough as Manu).
{I wonder, how Manu was so patient to wait for the answers to his numerable questions, which any reader would also have got}
⛵But the last few chapters which were brilliantly written, came as a big saviour and it is surely the reason why this book deserved a better rating than I formerly intended and also the reason for me to recommend this amazing book.
Looking forward for its sequel and I hope it's even more intriguing with ingenious plot twists and justifying explanatories!
Manu by Darshan Desale is a fictional account of a lesser-known character in Hindu mythology. Its protagonist Manu is usually found biding his time reading mythology. His life takes a turn after he sees unbelievable things. A character from the great epic, Mahabharata, calls him to accompany him to a magical world. Is this an illusion or reality or maybe, a nightmare?
Manu is a fresh retelling of Indian mythology, bringing in some different characters and their perspectives to the table. It is about Kalki, the tenth avatar of Lord Vishnu. The book seems to outshine its contemporaries because of its candor and unique storyline. It started with the young protagonist shocked at his unbelievable sight. However, what follows thereafter takes us by surprise. Manu is taken to Shambala to fulfill his purpose which comes to light as we go ahead in the book. It ends on a cliffhanger and the next part shall reveal what's to become of Manu as he treads his journey of self-discovery, revenge, and possibly, redemption.
I liked the concept of the book that focuses on Manu and also brings in Ashwathhama. The dialogues between the characters reveal tidbits that might help one in finding themselves. In a nutshell, the idea behind this book is new but its execution wasn't up to the mark. As much as the story was good, its narration had unavoidable flaws. A lack of editing was visible as the paragraphs were too long and the information, a bit overwhelming. With that, the story might disappoint because of its presentation. However, if you're seeking a lucid writing style and a significantly unique story, you may go ahead with this.
Manu is an interesting story that could be better with a more refined narrative and better plot treatment. After all, mythology is one genre that fewer people experiment with and it is one genre that does need a lot of work to grab readers' attention.
The cover of the book looks classy. It represents the book is going to be an intensive read for everyone along with the title which is perfect.
•Mythology has emerged as a very interesting and intriguing genre in the field of writing. And that's what makes this genre my absolute favorite and I am crazy for the books rooted in this genre.
•This book tells us the story of Manu, an ordinary young boy who lives a simple life. His curiosity about ancient scriptures could never be satiated.
•His life witnesses a dramatic change when a cursed person from Mahabharata meets him to take him to an ancient and hidden city where he can unveil the secret or the ultimate truth.
Will he unfold the ultimate truth? Why is Manu chosen to do this distinctive and strange journey?
To know what happened! You have to grab the book and start reading!
•This book is a brilliant combination of action, thrill, Science, and of course, mythology, which all had me intrigued and hooked throughout.
•Characters are characterized well. This book not only talks about Manu but also about other characters like Ashwatamma, Ram, Sita, Emperor Ashoka. The characters are unique, well developed, strong and impactful.
•The narration style is extremely smooth and convincing. The plot is very intriguing. Author has mentioned every small details effectively which adds a plus to the story.
•I've read few Mythological books, and I would love to say that this is so different from all of them, this story is something very unique and unpredictable.
Manu — a simple young boy who lived his life just like us. He had a great interest in learning ancient scriptures and mythological texts and loved doing more and more research on it. But destiny has different plans for him. One day a character from Mahabharat visits him and approaches him to come with him to an ancient hidden city and there he witnesses a divine event — the arrival of Kalki Avtar (tenth and final avtar of Lord Vishnu).
Talking about this book — Oh My God ! I have never ever read anything like this. I must say that this book is a perfect blend of science and mythology. First of all, I fell in love with the narrative style of the book. Second, the concept and plot is explained in a simple and logical manner. Third, the suspense through which the entire story revolves till the end, just loved it.
We generally have read a lot about myth texts but I have never thought something like this will or may take place in the coming future. After all, ‘Not all things are coincidental’. This book not only talks about Manu but also about other characters like Ashwatamma, Ram, Sita, Emperor Ashoka. Manu — the first person as well as the last person on this earth and if you want to know and witness the entire journey about what may happen by the arrival of Kalki Avtar you must surely get your hands over this book. This book will change your perspective towards history, will keep you engrossed with excitement about what is going to happen next and some chapters may even give you goosebumps. I will rate it 5⭐/5⭐
Book- Manu Author- Darshan Desale Format- Amazon Kindle Genre- Hindu Mythology Rating- 4/5 Review- First and foremost, it’s a fictional story based on our own Hindu culture. I am not that type of an ardent religious follower, but I did read books based on Hindu mythology before. When I came across this is the author’s first book, honestly I was surprised. How can an author write a fictional story that too keeping mythology in background, well that has impressed me. So the story revolves around Manu, who’s in his twenties. He’s just like one of us, but he keeps an interest on Hindu mythology. But one, something happened that changed his life forever. A cursed character from Mahabharata appears in front of him and persuades him to visit an ancient city where the last avatar of Lord Vishnu will appear. Anything more will disclose the whole story. So hushhh! What I liked the most about this story is that the author has blended well the past and the present, and nothing felt un-natural in the story. And the second thing that I liked is the ending. Dare not miss it. Would rate it 4 out 5 just because I’m not a mythological person, otherwise it’s an engrossing read for all the mythological persons out here. The writing style was smooth and free flowing. Recommending this for a good one-time read.
Mythology has been my favourite genre since this lockdown. Just like some people,I wasn't into mythology before, not even a single bit. The Mahabharata and Ramayana was in my course in class 6 and 7 respectively but I never tried to dive into it. I never to tried to explore what actually the epics were. But when the lockdown happened,my cousins and friends were so obsessed with the epics and there it begin,my curiosity of course. I watched so many TV shows based on the epics and then I was so into it that I didn't wanted to get back to reality. It was so engrossing.
"Manu" is written by the author Darsh and published by leadstart publishing. It is a blend of many genres , mythological fiction, sci fi, thriller and mystery. Many genres in one book. Isn't it amazing?
Many was an ordinary boy just like any of us,living his normal life. He was interested in exploring the mythology and reading the ancient scriptures. Everything was going just fine, until suddenly, a character from Mahabharata appears from nowhere and asks Many to go with him. Manu witnesses the Kalki Avatar, which the 10th of Lord Vishnu.
I really wanna thank the author for writing this book with adding many Amazing elements in it. The plot is super engaging which hooked me till the end. This book is a page turner,I must say. The characters are well developed.
Overall,a fascinating read. I recommend it to mythology lovers just like me.
Title - Manu Author - Darshan Desale Publisher - Lead start Genre - mythology /fiction Pages - 250 Format - paperback
The story revolves around a young boy Manu who loves reading mythological books and interested in learning the ancient scriptures. He is living a very normal life just like normal people but one day his life takes a you turn when a cursed character from Mahabharata appears in front of him and asks him to come with him to an ancient hidden city where Kalki, the last avtar of Lord Vishnu will appear. The cover and the title could have been better. The plot of the story is interesting, thrilling and engaging. It is a perfect blend of mythology, philosophy, thrill and science with lots of twist and turns. The author has amazingly narrated the battle between good and evil.
Language used is simple and lucid. Mythological characters are well portrayed by the author. The writing style is flowing. Hats off to the author for his imagination and perfectly blending mythology with modern period.
Overall, an adventurous read.
Rating - 4.7/5
I recommend this book to all specially mythology lovers out there.
▶A unique retelling of a lesser explored mythological character who is on a fantastical journey of self discovery.
INSIGHT- The retelling of mythology in a modern day setting is a fairly common literary trope and so when I began to read Manu it was with some trepidation. I anticipated that while it might be an interesting read, the presence of a mortal who finds himself in a mystical land that also inhabits characters from ancient literature, is not original. But, I was pleasantly surprised. Darsh has picked up a unique theme and character and through the narration regularly surprises the reader.
REVIEW- Manu is the eponymous protagonist of this story, and we are introduced to him as he grapples with an unbelievable encounter and an even more fantastical reality. This book is definitely worth a read. Manu's adventurous journey of self-discovery, within mystical ancient realms, also takes us readers back in time, to childhood myths and legends that we grew up hearing about, but this time with a twist. The stories of all the characters interconnect seamlessly with the plot and Darsh has effectively closed loopholes that sometimes tend to stay open in fantasy novels like this.
STRENGTHS - Written with a simplicity that belies the author’s obvious effort and research, this book is a fast paced, engaging read with a well woven plot and strongly built characters. It also has very vivid descriptions that lend themselves beautifully to imagination of the reader.
WEAKNESS- The vocabulary and grammar does falter but as readers we are prone to forgive that because of the riveting narration.
Target Audience- For those who are inclined to historical fiction, this is a must read. It is also a good book to choose if you are a fairly new reader and want to experience something interesting but not too intimidating.
𝑴𝒚 𝑹𝒆𝒗𝒊𝒆𝒘: People are aware of epics like Ramayana and Mahabharata but still now and then many books come into the market and each book sound a different story. These epics or sweeping saga-like books have a kind of magical influence on readers. After Amish introduced the Shiva Trilogy, since then fictional books on the Indian mythology are all the more a fad.
On the similar lines, India’s one of the best traditional publishers Leadstart has released a riveting mythological fiction ‘Manu’, written by Darshan Desale. This novel shuttles between two timelines, or possibly more. As the book is titular, the main lead is Manu. He is twenty something guy, totally consumed by historical scriptures and mythology. Well one day something strange occurs to him and he could not cope up with that as a normal human being. There is a figure from Mahabharata named Aswatthama. He appears out of nowhere and takes him to a secret and ancient city called Shambala. After this point, the book turns towards the last avatar of the Lord Vishnu – referred as Kalki.
Running up to 288 pages, the novel passes through a lot of twists and turns. The book delves deep with Indian mythology as a strong backdrop. The good and unique point of the story is that it travels from contemporary times to ancient one. As the story chugs ahead, other stories of legendary figures also take part to keep readers enticed. Readers interested in Amish or Devdutta books must explore this book as it is full of many Indian mythological characters. Overall, it is a pleasure to read this novel. Right since the first page the story was totally observing and moved at fast pace to unfold the drama one after another.
Whenever i came across novel based upon mythological aspects, it gives me goosebumps.
"Manu" book is based upon such mythology which is interrelated to vedic literatures, epics such as Mahabharata etc.
It's a story of a simple boy called Manu. He has that passionate aura to learn and read about the Indian mythology through books, sage literature and verbally by his father.
As he started growing, he came across many questions from the past. He was keen to know about the depth of this life and meaning of our existence.
Everything till here was like an ordinary person living for a possible solution to come out. His researches with avidity came to a pause when unanticipated mythical mould from Mahabharata came into being.
The being was cursed forgotten soul which invited & took manu to the ancient lost city.
He then their witnesses the mighty saga & ultra pious occasion. The reincarnation of "Vishnu" the second lord as Hindu literature mentions as a "Kalki" Avatar and world's extremity.
Book has really meaningful and worthwhile reading experience. Cover of this little boy sitting in a monk position well defines the pleasure this book has.
An addition of old literature fantasy, adventure and love will give you divine ethos of Indian sage literatures. It has those active and passive messages hidden but once read out, you will get your answer anyhow.
Deep down i think all mythology from here or their have those legends that you have grownups on. This book is amazing and nicely written. Reading mythology is great because it's where your roots are from.
Books like "Manu" are great example of keeping our culture alive and author introduce Vedic literature to upcoming generations in a beautiful way.
Rate:- 3.5/5 *************** Wouldn't it be exciting and surprising if suddenly our boring lives change into something adventurous and take us on a mysterious journey. Well, this is what happening with Manu. Manu is the male lead in this book whose life suddenly took an U-turn and took him away to a land of mystery which is Shambala, where imaginary or mythological creatures of the real world are living beings. Like fairies, rakshasas, nymphs, Ashwatthama, King Ashoka, and so many. This book is about the battle between the good and evil, but to know who is on which side, you need to read this book. . I love the plot of this book. It has been a long time since I read any mythological thriller and this book live up to my expectation on that category. The character of the Hemlet was a cute one, but apart from him I personally didn't like anyone. Though it was good to read about them and see their perspective and also their contribution towards the story yet none of them were my favourite. The book would have been more impactful only if the usage of language was good. Many at times the explanations seem to be confusing and dialogue deliveries were not great. Excluding my complaint with the language I like this book. Especially the ending was good. I hope when the sequel comes out it will have more polished language. . This book can be easily read by anyone but before that you need to have some knowledge about mythological and historical characters and also need to know few important scientific things. If you know them all then get ready to read this book.
“We change reality into our imagination. And it’s the reality which stands before us as our imagination. We call it an illusion or an abstract idea and leave it there. Sometimes, we even call it blind faith and rumours.”
Manu had never seen something like this before. Half bird and half human. Half bird as in just the feathers. He did not have a beak or nails or claws. The rest was totally human. He was a normal human but with eagle feathers. Manu blinked his eyes but still saw the wings as they were. So this wasn’t his imagination. He had never seen such a creature before.
He introduced himself as Hemlet. later he was joined by an older looking creature of same stature who called himself as Ashwatthama. They seemed like messengers of God but asked weird questions looking at Manu’s books. He knew about Vedas and mocked at Mahabharata. These sudden off-topic questions boggled Manu’s mind.
Was he reading so much that his mind started to imagine things?m
To me it seems this story starts from where Krishna-Dwaipayan Vyasa stopped his literature on Mahabharata. Author Darshan Desale has done an incredible job of writing a fiction which is much beyond anyone’s imagination. Developing characters who existed as mythological characters and then eloped in yet another imaginary world. Has anyone else thought what happed to them.
I found this book very interesting. The language is very clear and crisp. It’s a unique concept and a different story beyond anyone’s imagination for sure.
Manu, a fantasy based on the story of Lord Vishnu’s tenth avatar Kalki. The story starts at a decent pace with Manu being urgently called to the city of Shambhala, an underground city. Manu, being personified as God Manu, is the first person known to exist on this Earth according to the Hindu mythology. As Manu goes to the city of Sambhala with Ashwathama and Hamlet he discovers the purpose of his life and starts unveiling hidden secrets about the tradition. The story after some twists and turns goes into conclusion that Manu changed the future by time traveling and saving himself for the purpose of attaining salvation. Read the full book to know how Manu hoodwinked Kalki to attain salvation.
I know the summary of the book might not be that intriguing but I assure you that book neither is. Trying to explain the mythology in layman terms the author has made it a very boring read. The language used is simple. Too much detailing which imo was useless with this storyline. The nitty gritty tries to give effect of the scenic beauty to the author which might be useful only till a little extent but it surely does kill the grip of the story. I was more despondent when i saw that this is just the first part of the story where the rest are yet to come. All in all a good slow read which can give a newbie a spiritual perspective and make them think out of the box.
PS: Hoping for part 2 to be more gripping and fast paced than this one.
🐚The story revolves around an ordinary boy named Manu. He was fascinated by spirituality and mythology. He was leading an ordinary life until a character from Mahabharata appears from nowhere and asks Manu to accompany him to his ancient secret city Shambhala, the city of Kalki.
🐚Kalki is the tenth and final avatar of the Hindu God Vishnu propheised to appear at the end of Kali Yuga age to punish the wicked, reward the good, and inaugrate the Satya Yuga age of sacrifice and dharma. It is also believed that Kalki will also kill the demon Kali.
🐚Manu was told that he has been chosen for a special purpose.
❓What's the special purpose that Manu was supposed to serve? ❓Did he succeed in what he was chosen for? ❓How are all these connected to apocalypse?
🐚This book is among those books, you'll witness everything right in front of your eyes while reading this. Definitely a page turner!
🐚Many fascinating theories have been introduced in this book that makes the book a great creation. The characters are characterized well. This book not only talks about Manu but also about other characters like Ashwatamma, Ram, Sita, Emperor Ashoka. The characters are unique, well developed, strong and impactful.
🐚The book is a perfect blend of fantasy, history ,mythology with a whole lot of mystery. The plot is unique and gripping. The details and information are quite tantalizing. The ending will leave you wanting for more.
𝗠𝗮𝗻𝘂 𝗯𝘆 𝗗𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗲 spins around the perspectives we as a whole convey about the presence and the science.
What happens when out of nowhere you experience with a character from Mahabharat face to face? This is the thing that occurred with a straightforward youngster named Manu. Be that as it may, think about a scenario where the individual from a heavenly book even offers you a mystery visit to an old spot. Captivating enough for us all in some way or another as every so often do we envision that how this universe functions and is there any *kalki Avtar(final Avtar of Lord Vishnu)* which we may come to observe in coming years!?
Three realities that I adored about the book are -
1. The story style of the book. 2. The idea and plot is clarified in a basic and intelligently way. 3. The tension through which the whole story rotates till the end, simply cherished it.
This book discusses Manu as well as about different characters like Ashwatthama, Ram, Sita, Emperor Ashoka. But to witness in real what happens when Kalki Avatar will eventually comes into existence as well as What were the obligation for which Manu was picked? What befalls the human world with the appearance of Kalki?
For all these answers... you will have to grab a copy of this book today!
NOTE: This is a well researched book not merely based on the myths...I must say!
This book taught me how one can never lock their past away. It will always find a way back in your life. The only way to deal with it is to accept it, to accept the mistakes you have made, to accept the wrongs you have been through. I am really spellbound after reading this amazing book. It is an emotional roller coaster ride, which is both gripping and overwhelming is book shows us how positive thinking can bring so much of a change in one's life and how to overcome one's inner fears. I highly recommend this book to everyone.A very positive and chill vibe . The cover is vibrant and beautiful. From the blurb I understood that this book had a prequel and I hadn't read it. So immediately got it on my kindle and read that so that I could enjoy the books together.A very descriptive, honest narration of what the protagonist Manu goes through in his life. The narrative felt a bit repetitive though. This doesn't take away from the importance of the subject that's being talked about.Easy to read language but a difficult topic to deal with. #manu #darshandesale #indianbook #indiaauthor #indianbookstagrammustread #amreading #bookshelf #booksbooksbooks #kindleunlimitedbooks #kindlebook #kobo #library #libro #instabooks #booklovers #literatura #literature #fantasy #igreads #livro #booklove #bookreview

Oh my God! What did I just read? Me, who love everything about mythology, is entertain to every pore and was at the edge of my seat for most part while reading the book. This is the story of boy next door, Manu who loves reading and knowing about mythology and ancient history. He is greatly smitten by mythological stories and characters that wishes to learn more about it. One day miraculously one of the characters from Mahabharat appeares in front of him and takes him to the city of Kalki, the last avatar of Lord Vishnu. And, that's when the book takes turn and we get to read a epic stories of many great mythological characters. Author has even explored many lesser known mythological characters like Ashvathama.
'Manu' is one of those books which while reading you forget you are reading and you found yourself at the place where you are witnessing everything with your own eyes. I have no idea how author have come with this great storyline, he deserves many claps for it. I don't know how this book didn't get many audiences till now, it deserves a big success. Though the second half does feel like a khichdi the narrative become more convoluted than inventive and dialogues are mere assemble of words but the climatic twist might leave you asking for more but having said that I was at the edge of my seat for most part and every pore of my bit is thoroughly entertained.
• Our main protagonist Manu, a young curious boy who loves mythology, ancient scriptures and books, lives a normal life until one day, when a fictional character from Mahabharata, Kalki visits him and tells him something strange. What happens next is just unbelievable. The mythological idea of Kalki has existed since thousands of years and has been described in Kalki Purana, but the subject was never explored in detail.
• Author has created his own world of imagination beautifully with timeline and map. Characters and places where also easily gettable without any complications. I liked the editing which is flawless and narration of author he carried out almost 300 pages without boring the audience. The narration is good, the plot is the one thing you won't get bored of, but the thing which can make you buy this novel instantly is its cover. The book has a beautiful cover which perfectly suits the theme of the book.
• The story had a good pace. As the story is in third person narration, it gives time for each character to create its significance and lasting effect. But also at the same time, second part of book had too many new characters coming which got me confused sometimes. There were multiple events to surprise me but some of them turned out predictable. Would recommend it to beginners who wants to explore this genre.

My Opinion📑 ▶️First of all let's talk about Cover which eye-catchy(looks like a monk is sitting in Meditation) which tempted me to buy this book. ▶️Language is lucid ,though I didn't like the title so much it could be something attention seeker.Narration is fast paced which kept me hooked till last. ▶️I personally loved the character of Manu. From childhood I love to watch mythology based movies and today I read this amazing book. ▶️Mythology lovers should not miss this book,If they call themselves a true mythology lover then they must read this book Overall it was an amazing and thrilling read for me,and is highly recommended to all.
"Manu" is composed by Darshan Desale. The story is about Manu, a young boy, who have a great deal of interest in our antiquated history.
He cherished fanciful characters and stories identified with them.
He wanted to take in the privileged insights from our antiquated sacred texts and books.
He attempted to get familiar with the significance of life and presence.
The book is a legendary fiction dependent on the Hindu folklore. The creator mixed his creative mind with Hindu folklore to make this magnum opus.
I haven't read a great deal of fanciful fiction dependent on Hindu folklore.
I feel this book is effectively composed where the writer has come to an obvious conclusion to make it simple for the new pursuer to comprehend the associations.
The creator is fruitful in making the story fascinating. I might truly want to appreciate him for quite a delightful result of whatever he had in his psyche.
This story was definitely engrossing which drawn in my attention immediately. The story is elegant, described in an extremely decent manner, a legendary read from a totally different viewpoint.
As a historic fiction lover "Manu" attracted my attention instantly. The story revolves protagonist Manu who always wanted to unfold popular Indian scriptures like Ramayana and Mahabharat. One day he get an unexpected opportunity when an character from Mahabharat visits him. Now this character invites Manu to an hidden city for an event. Now will Manu accept the invite? Is this character trust worthy? Excited to know then read the book
The character of Manu is crafted perfectly. The way he thinks, his inquisitive interest, application of logic, etc qualities made it strong and fit to plot character. The concept of mythology requires profound knowledge cause even it it's fiction the main essence can't be altered. The author have worked on it amazingly and crafted characters of Mahabharat righteously. As pages turn the twist and turns making it an intriguing read. The language can easily develop the connection with reader. Lastly the cover is breath taking with dark theme.

With an array of mythology and unknown episodes from Mahabharata, comes "Manu”. This is the story of Manu maneuvering through war, with the help of sharp intellect and unwavering gallantry. This is also a story that casts itself across the social strata, to portray the fabric of relationships in a very tattered and revealing manner. It is a book that isn’t directed, isn’t sharpened—rather appears to come to us like a web of conversations and events, imbibing an all-round inclusion of the storytelling spirit and essence of mythology. Author Darsh has philosophized Manu’s story in such a bright and exuberant way, that it ceases to be just a story. It evolves and transcends to represent the germination and thrive of certain ideologies, figments of emotions, and some very distinct trails of thought that question some of the very basic foundations of how we perceive and analyse.
The quality of bewilderment coats Darsh’s book with a glaze of soothe and calm. The text, while reading, makes you visualize the interplay of events unfolding before your eyes. You see it all: war clouds, calamity, liberation, enlightenment and realities of life.
Manu is a simple boy who is fascinated about God's and Mythological study. He is leading an ordinary life until one day he has an important visitor from Mahabharat who asks him to accompany him to his hidden magical city Shambhala. He reveals that Manu is the choosen one who has a special duty towards the existence of the entire universe.
Intrigued by the information, Manu agrees to join him, only to be mesmerized to see an unimaginable, fantastical, unreal place hidden on Earth. There he learns more about his purpose of existence, his duties and responsibilities. Here he gets answers to all his questions.
Will he be able to fulfill his duty? Why is he the chosen one? What is the mystery behind our creation and existence? Why, the One who created us, wants to now destroy us?
Manu is not like any of the mythological retellings. It's fresh and out of the box. The explanations about the Creation and the Creator is beautiful and descriptive. There are parallel stories running which joins together to make a complete fascinating story in the end which makes you want to read more. The start is a bit slow but it doesn't allow the reader to loose the grip.
Those who like mythological fiction/retellings, must read this book.
An unpredictable plot that is just not about fantasy or mythology but also blended with sci-fi & thriller elements. It peaked my curiosity right from the look of the book cover so mystically vibrant.
Manu is flabbergasted by the events taking place in his life which is beyond understanding or explanation. The reemergence of the cursed character from Mahabharata leaves him more dumbfounded. But the only option to know the fact of his existence as “Manu” he agrees to traverse to the land of “Sambhala”, the land where all the answers to his quest is available. What is the truth behind the reincarnation of the Vishnu Avatar?
An immensely exhilarating experience to read this fast paced mystical fantasy thriller. Amazing elements of mythical characters & references, time-travel, shape-shifters, rakshas etc... with an equally fascinating narrative by the author. Also it’s informative and reminiscing too for the old stories and myths in between the plots about Mahabharata. A highly recommended book for anyone who loves this genre.
The first book of Saga : witnessing struggle of God, Rakshasa and men _______________________________ MANU by DARSHAN DESALE _______________________________ Fictional stories create an abiding impact on me 😍 Manu was the second most full of life book after Harry potter series. As soon as you start reading the book, it feels like you are on a dynamic journey. Manu, an ordinary boy like all other humans suddenly discovers a new path of life. A character from Mahabharata gives him impression of his being and take him on an enchanted ride to an ancient city. It took me 2 days to complete the whole book because I couldn’t resist to read the next chapter. I am not going to reveal much because it seems like it is an original Netflix series and spoilers are prohibited. Manu is that hidden unknown truth that needs to be widely recognised. Are you a person who likes to know the truth and secrets of the past? Well let me tell you Manu is a complete package of the hidden tales of north pole, city of Shambhala , connection between Ramayana and people of egypt and The Samrata Ashoka. Hearing these names, you all might want to read this notable piece of art.
Have you ever fantasized about meeting a character from any book or movie or anything in real-life? I have done that many times and once, I even wished to meet Draupadi from Mahabharata because of how beautiful they described her in the book, and I can say I developed a crush on her. Just imagine what all you can do and explore when you meet one of them. This is the case with Manu, a young boy who was deeply fascinated by mythological stories and tales. One day, a character from the epic tale Mahabharata comes into his life and takes him away to a secret place, and starts his epic journey. What happens after forms the crux of the story? Personally, I loved the concept of the plot very much and have no words which can explain how good the story was. The Author has done incredible work with character development and the setting of the story. I enjoyed reading this book as it gave me more insight into the world of Mahabharata, which I didn’t know before. So, if this plot intrigues you, take this book for a spin, and I am sure you will love it.
Book: Manu Author: Darshan Desale My Rating: 4.5/5
My Review: Manu is the first book in the saga of the struggle of God, Rakshasa and men. I have read many books based on mythology but this one is different. It started from the simple life of Manu. One day, strange things started to happen with him. He has read Mahabharata and one of the character from it i.e. Ashwatthama came to his room. He told Manu about the curse with which he is living and how he reached Shambhala. He even called Manu to Shambhala where he witnessed the Kalki avatar, last avatar of Lord Vishnu.
If you are interested in mythological stories then this one would interest you. Storyline is very interesting. Manu's character is written very well. The way strange things started happiness in his life is kinda interesting to read about. Glossary given at the beginning of the book is helpful while reading.
Author has done nice work in his debut book. I am curious to read the sequel of Manu to see what gonna happen further in the story. I binged read this one and overall enjoyed reading it.
Manu,is an ordinary boy who loves mythological books and is interested in learning the ancient stories, leads a very normal life but then a character from the Mahabharata appears in front of him and suggests him to come with him to the ancient city where Kalki will appear. Kalki, is the last avatar of Vishnu.
The book starts with the acknowledgement. The writer wrote the book just for fun and then published it as his friends loved his work. Well, yes, the book is written very casually. The sentences feels like actual conversations and not the professional bookish language. Some people may like this while some may not. I like to read professional language. But the casual language indeed made it easy to understand.
The story is very nicely described. Also, I must say the story is so unique in itself. All the characters are described in the beginning before the story starts. I liked that. It was helpful for me.
If we leave the vocabulary part and focus only on the content, I liked the book !
My Review: Manu is the first book written by author Darshan and published by Leadstart Publishing Private Limited. Main character of the story is a boy Manu. One day something unexpected happened with him. He was visited by a stranger who pretended to be his father. He told him that Manu is different from others and born to fulfill a goal. Story became interesting when Manu was visited by a cursed character from the epic Mahabharata i.e. Ashwatthama. Read this amazing story yourself and find out how Manu will take you on an interesting journey ahead.
