Joshua Griffith is a Native American Cherokee who loves to tell stories about the paranormal and the supernatural, but adds a twist of humor to alleviate some of the inherent drama and suspense that can make the characters seem more relatable. He grew up in the eastern part of Oklahoma, witnessing many strange and wondrous things that went bump in the night. Joshua Griffith currently resides in the Pacific Northwest. As part of his path as an energy healer, Joshua Griffith felt it would be good idea to incorporate some of his experiences in his novels. As they say, there's always a hint of truth even in a good work of fiction so it's up to you to decide which is truth and which is hot air. Joshua Griffith invites you to read his stories with an open mind because these tales are works of fiction, but ask yourself this: Could this really happen?

I think the story here is a good one but I also think I would have enjoyed the book more if I had not listened to the audio book version. I found the narrator to have a beautifully deep voice but it did not lend itself well to the female characters. They either came across sounding all whinny or gravely ( like 5 packs a day gravely). Perhaps I will try for a re read of the physical book.......

Meg is a witch living in a seemingly crazy society. The government is behind a movement that's getting people to lose their minds. Suicide rates are through the roof, and The Reset is in motion. Meg has to flee her once blissful home and get to the bottom of the crumbling world using supernatural assistance.

Creepy and compelling, "The Reset" is filled with all kinds of supernatural goodness.

It's so easy to lose yourself in the story that the pages just kind of fly by. I liked the worldbuilding and thought it had a unique take on witches, Gods, and the paranormal. If you're looking for something outside the box to read this Christmas season, this is the book for you.

“Weird, Creepy, Bloody dripping, Body parts flying everywhere. Witches and all sorts of crazy Deities this book has it all.”
The mind of this author is phenomenally creative. He can really weave a scary story. It certainly is a genre I would never read. But I promised Joshua I would, so I read every word to the end, sometimes wanting to puke with the characters. Very Gorey book. For those who love such things, with a strong element of fun and comedy running through it is a great story.
It starts off slowly building a picture of a group of powerful men who conspire to cull the population of the world in the 1980’s in a ghost facility, from across Europe, Asia, and USA. Be careful what you wish for ……..
They use a witch, Jasmine Blinks, to summon an ancient deity to do their bidding and manipulate a virus, to remove the excess of the population. The old the poor the underprivileged and the sick. The deity has other plans. So, the game begins., The Reset is put into motion against the witches wishes.
40 years later, Meg, a cantankerous witch that has a strong dislike for most people lives a bit like a recluse decides to go shopping. Her recently acquired ghost keeps chanting “Prepare... The Reset is coming..." This means nothing to Meg. So, she calls him all sorts of names and the duel of words between them begins. When she reaches Portland, she is stunned to discover that people are killing themselves with a blissful smile. Groups of people have turned feral, killing indiscriminately, and doing many unspeakable acts of cruelty to their victims.
Meg is forced to flee her home after being attacked by the feral mob who trash her house looking for her. Both sexually and cruelly, she is horrified at what she sees. And what they do to her. She is battered and attacked by a mob brutally.
Luckily Meg is rescued by Mia and a whole new story of what is really happening in the world unfolds. Whether she survives this new way of living under the RESET only reading the story will tell. I have to say it gets worse……
It’s bloody and Gorey, with sexual scenes in and crazies running rampant all over. The author has given this feral nightmare some extremely funny twists.
As a character I love Meg. She is so feisty, funny, truthful, very direct, and eager to learn survival. Her dialogue with some of the characters is fantastic. She holds nothing back.
A 5-star review is worth every drop of blood spilled in this amazing tale.

A secret multi government with the help of a witch and demon want to cull humanity and it is up to a small but strong group of paranormal's to stop them. Meg discovers that the people in her neighborhood are in a killing frenzy like something out of the movie "Dawn of the Dead" except these people are very much alive feasting on human flesh. Meg barely escaped with the aid of Mia and her pack and together they take on people affected by the reset not to mention demons. This book is filled with action, shifters, demons, gore and of course sarcastic wit. The banter between some of the characters is absolutely hilarious even during this tense situation.

If you love paranormal/horror books I highly recommend this book to you. The narrator Joel Gibbs was phenomenal with voices that brought the story to life and made it leap of the pages. I can't wait to read the next book because I am hooked.

I received this book for free upon my request and my honest unbiased review has no bearing on this. I give this review voluntarily of my own volition.

I always enjoy reading this author's books. The character are full of snarky comments and have personalities that stay with you for a long time. You'll discover a unique twist to this dystopian world, one filled with the supernatural, and creatures only the most creative of minds could bring to life. There's a rather sensual love scene, as well. Plus a number of gory bits--as is to be expected in a world where the characters must battle to ensure their survival. I think we'd all like a "reset" of our world, but perhaps not to this extreme. It's a story that keeps you turning the pages, because you'll be unsure how it all plays out. Complete story within itself, but more adventure awaits those who dare to continue.

A fast-paced fight between good and evil

What if the fate of humankind on earth was not in our hands? What if another realm held the key to survival? The Earth has reached a saturation point with the selfishness of the hordes and out of control technology. What can bring sanity and healing back to the Earth? Meg is a woman who possesses untapped powers. One day, on a trip to the grocery store, she witnessed the world going crazy in unimaginable ways. She is saved by an unlikely group of warriors and recruited to help save the world.
This fast-paced first instalment of the Reset series engaged my attention from the first page and I couldn’t put it down until I’d too quickly reached the end. I can’t wait for the next one!

A novel that has everything, and I mean everything. Witch power, ghosts, zombie apocalypse, other beings (no spoilers) plus a page turning "what the hell is going to happen next?"

I'm sure that readers of this horror type story are used to some sort of formula but this story jumps about so much it busts formulae out of the water, making you read on and wanting Meg, the protagonist, to survive and conquer.

Characters are well drawn and evolve throughout the novel, action is described in a way that your imagination places you in the scenes and, in parts, I was shaking with fear.

This novel can be read as a stand-alone but be warned, on completion you will probably want to read book #2 When The Veil Falls.

Format: audiobook
Narrator: Joel Gibbs

This book started well, it had my attention no problem from the beginning but then I found I was getting irritated By the main character Meg, she may be a witch that doesn’t know what she’s capable of or understand what’s happening as regards the reset but she just comes across as rude and childish. I also wasn’t feeling the connection that Meg and Mia were supposed to have, I’m not sure if this was down to Meg seeming childish or the narrator’s portrayal of Mia’s gravelly voice. Probably a bit if both!
Lots of supernaturals in this book and the whole story idea is a good one which is why I’ve given it 4 stars even tho I didn’t take to the main character.

Great supernatural fantasy!

Due to overpopulation, the Government wants the culling of humans via a viral outbreak. People start to show strange and erratic behaviours and want to kill themselves. Meg is a witch who together with her ghostly sidekick Eric (love their relationship) battle to survive, facing violence and torture from feral creatures. The imagination of this author is fantastic as he creates a world full of darkness and destruction which grips you from the start. The storyline keeps your interest throughout and turning those pages, wondering if Meg and her team will come out in top! Great read.

This is a great first in series book. It’s a dystopian type story where due to an imbalance between nature and people, the world is subjected to a reset. The future looks pretty grim and there are some violent scenes, so be warned! It took me a little while to get into the characters and the story, and ideally I would like a story to grab me a little earlier, but I am so glad I stuck with it because by the end all I wanted was to read more. I have high hopes for the sequel!

Interesting read.
Joshua gives us unforgettable characters, although sometimes too many for me to follow. With blood-thirsty flesh-eaters, witches, werewolves, vampires, and more, what could anyone want in a dark end of the world series? I especially loved the sarcastic dialogue between Meg the witch and the rest of her team of misfits. If you are into this type of world and looking for action, this is your book. But be aware this series compelled me to go beyond the first book. Read in a book club.

Supernatural fantasy at its best.

This is a super cool supernatural book, that is exciting and at times humorous. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about the main character the witch, also known as Meg. She is in the middle of the reset, as the government try to destroy the human race's minds. I thought the world the author created was fantastic, with a different perspective of witches and gods. I highly recommend this book, I look forward to more from this author.

When the human race is culled, some are happy to die and some turn feral. Very appropriate in today's world!!
Meg, a witch, joins with other beings trying to survive.
I loved this. Meg is bad-tempered and ready to fight with her shadow. Despite the darkness of the plot, there is humour in this story and it mostly comes from Meg and that is what makes this such an enjoyable novel.
Looking forward to book two in this series now.

Dark Stuff!!!
What's being reset? The world--people--humanity.
The world has gone insane!
There is so much to this book, it's incredible:
Paranormal (including just about every supernatural race you can think of)
Dystopian
Action
Horror
There is a heat factor to it as well for Romance fans. (4 on my steamy meter)
This is the perfect read if you aren't sure what you are looking for. I thoroughly enjoyed the characters and wringing style. Bring on book 2

This is a well written and well thought out story line. There are issues raised in it which could be part of todays world, and others that are out of this world, and in a different realm.
All of the human emotions are included and play out in the different characters.
As I read, I was compelled to know more, and was unable to put the book down. I read the book in a day, instead of sorting out some other things. I can't wait to read the next book.
Highly recommended.

Chilling!

Every frightening creature from your nightmares is real. The whole world has gone insane, killing themselves, and each other. Only a select few with magic remain to fight for the place we all call earth. I love the dark, yet vivid, characters I can’t wait to read the next one in the series.

Electrifying!

This action-packed, genre-blending thriller was a whole lot of fun to read. The writing itself is compelling, but the fascinating mix of paranormal characters (witches, vampires, ghosts, etc.) wouldn't let me turn the pages fast enough. The ending left me eager to read the next book in the series. Highly recommended!

A supernatural story from A to Z

Wow, to many monsters to keep track of for my taste. It was a great YA story for the millennial group with a dose of a variety of supernatural creatures for everyone's taste. In the end I believe that the world as we know it is done for it seems.

First, Joshua has a very unique style that I think I've come to terms with. This novel is categorized as "paranormal" and "paranormal romance." I think it's honestly a little more genre-blended than that. It's almost like magical realism/urban fantasy with bits of horror thrown in. And I genuinely enjoy that for this plot line. But I'll get back to plot later. What you need to know about Joshua's style is that it's a very smooth, easy read. There's no jostling or bumping along the way. You pick it up and absolutely glide through the story like a demon coming from the rift (lol, book reference). The pacing was phenomenal, leaving me absolutely no time to catch my breath. As far as characters go, I thought the cast was very well-written. It was very diverse, as well. I liked the MC Meg's sass, and her wit often had me laughing out loud. The plot was very well-rounded if not a bit rushed, and the romance was well-written as well. Nothing cringey!

Overall Rating: 4.5/5
Pacing: Fast, fast, fast.
Intended Audience: Adult. Especially for fans of the horror/paranormal genre.
Content Warnings: Rape and suicide, both of which are described in detail. Read cautiously.

Presented in a book club, I was curious to read Joshua Griffith’s The Reset (which is not my usual “go to” genre). While reading the first three chapters, I found myself struggling with the storyline, so I focused on Griffith’s free-flowing writing style, his superb character descriptions, and the unlikely bonds/friendships the characters’ had formed. And I’m so happy I did.

In conclusion, the story was witty and engaging with many amusing moments, due to Meg’s snarky attitude and blunt remarks and how the supporting characters reacted to her witchy traits and grew to love her.

For those of you who enjoy this genre, The Rest is padded with action, magic, mystery, and humor. I’m sure you’ll love it!

Thrilling

This book is a page turner for those that enjoy the supernatural world. With a delightful story around Meg and how she survives the reset becoming entangled with other supernatural creatures, and their work to survive all the chaos around them.
Note it is like any supernatural read, gory and full of magical violence.

A Solid Read

I read this as part of a book club. It's not a preferred genre of mine, but it is well written. It took me a while to get into the story, to learn the characters, but it came together before the end.
I disliked the episodes of violence, but understand they were integral to the story.

Supernatural page Turner

This story had me hooked. I love anything supernatural, and this book didn't dissapoint. Most books in this genre tend to focus on maybe one form whether it be a witch, a vampire or a wolf but this book had them all with a page turning worthy plot cleverly written by the author. I can't wait to read the next installment.

A thrilling ride

Although one of the categories is paranormal romance, there's much more to this story than the love between Meg and Mia. Expect to find action, gore, and thrills. Admittedly the first few chapters, that read like a prequel, didn't hold my interest as much, but I'm so glad I continued or I would have missed out on a real gem.

Joshua can tell a tale. His books would be too scary for eyeballs to look at except that he throws in enough humor, be it ironic or sardonic, to keep the audience from perishing from fright. Good reads to make your dreams a bit more interesting, if you dare!

As the city is overpopulated, the government wants to ethnic cleansing through viral outbreak. Meg is a witch who is crazy and her desire to survive keeps her fighting against all odds & how the mob attacks her is extremely creepy. The author has penned about ghosts, witches, goddess and everything in amazingly beautiful manner. The story telling technique keeps you hooked on.
