Devin + Annie + Frankie = Family happiness !
Completely adorable Annie is being raised by her Uncle “Cap”/Devin, who runs the coffee shop in River Gorge. Frankie quits his bakery job, happy to leave his horrible boss. Frankie comes here to be closer to his best friend Riley, and lands a fantastic baker job at the coffee shop. The men quickly find they are attracted.
This short story is fun, super sexy, and the men are cute together. I wanted to taste some of the bakery delights ... The side characters are terrific, but we do get to see our guys blindsided by Frankie’s old boss and Devin’s ex, wow ! That bit of tension is short-lived.

I always know exactly what to expect when I pick up a Jacki James book, and this was no different.
- Insta-everything. Check
- Zero angst. Check
- Over the top fluff. Check.
- 90% simplistic dialogue with very little prose. Check.
- Overuse of the expression "but a few". Oof. You bet.
But sometimes, that's all I need.
This could've scraped by with a 3 if didn't give up any pretense of a plot and if the last chapter hadn't been so so cheesy it actually made me cringe lol.

2/15/2026 continuing my Jacki James “no angst” reread binge.

Hmmm what to say? This was an ok way to pass an afternoon. I was able to finish, so it wasn’t completely boring. Nothing really happens? There was no angst (which I liked), but I didn’t really feel a real connection between the two MC. It seem more like proximity than chemistry. I need more of something. I don’t really know what. Also, I saw the twist coming from a mile away.🙄
I’m going to with 2.5 stars rounded up to three since I did finish it.

What is it with these adorable little kids that just make the book so much better?? Little Annie. So sweet and adorable and you can’t help but fall in love with her. It also helps that she has a sexy, sweet Uncle that is just the perfect man with a heart of gold. At least in Frankie’s case.
Frankie loved being a pastry chef. But after a new chef came in to take over, it became a dreaded thing. When the man had the audacity to suggest he find a new job after all the work Frankie has done and all the years he’s been there, he had finally had enough and left the man stranded. Meanwhile, it was time for a break and a visit to his best friend. When he makes his visit, they happen to pop into the local coffee shop, and Cap had asked if Frankie’s best friend, Ripley, could help him. When Frankie offered to help instead with something homemade, it became a hit and a partnership was starting to form. Cap knew he could have a big boom in business with a pastry chef back. After his ex left him high and dry, things had slowed down. And with as good as Frankie is, he was right. Business was booming again. It also helped that Cap had a gorgeous man to look at every day. He was Cap’s every fantasy come to life and Cap was Frankie’s. Now if Cap can make sure Frankie has everything he needs in his life for Frankie to stay, it will be the best ever. For him and for Annie.
I love these adorable little kids in these books. You guys are killing me with them. They are just so special. They just all have this way about them that makes the book so much more special. But I loved how Cap and Frankie just fit together as well. They have this chemistry that is just amazing. It’s like, you know how you have those friends that are like best friends and when you haven’t seen them in a while, it doesn’t seem to matter. That you just pick up right where you left off. That’s kind of how they are. They just have this natural rapport that just has them working well together and when they decided to take the next step, it made the chemistry that much more explosive. It didn’t matter that Cap had Annie to take care of either. He was aware that Cap came as a package deal. And for Frankie, that was just perfect. It didn’t matter to him. He loved her as much as he loved Cap.
This is just the sweetest little story. I loved it so much. And I also loved that the ex boyfriend and ex boss got what was coming to them. You will see what I mean. Served them right. Never overestimate your worth. Someone else can be just as good and much nicer lol. But don’t underestimate yourself either. Anyway. It’s a great little story. I hope you guys love it as much as I did.

I've been slowly making my way through the Snowed In - Valentine's Inc. series for the past few weeks. When I opened my Kindle to read Snowflake Kisses I didn't know that the main characters had already been introduced in Finding Ripley. While I would've liked to have known a little more about Reed and Ripley before starting this, I was still happy with it.
Snowflake Kisses can be read as a standalone.
I loved Frankie and Devin (Cap) from the minute I met each one in the story. Then there's Annie, Devin's four-year-old niece that he's adopting. I'm a sucker for books with kids in them and I simply adored Annie and her goat and unicorn loving ways. ;) She was precious.

Oh, this book is absolutely cute and adorable!
It has anything you may want in a book: baking, an adorable little girl, an awful ex (who happens to also be the one who ruins the other MCs work life), a snowed in layover and tons and tons of fluff.

Taking changes head on
This was a wonderfully adorable story of finding love and happiness. The way the two worked there was low angst, just honest concerns that were talked through and addressed as they came up, allowing the growing love to shine through everything.
Devin is a coffee shop owner in a small town who has just adopted his niece. He spends his time running the shop and then taking care of the little girl who means so much to him. His ex made pastries for the shop, something he hasn't had since the man split. Frankie worked for the premiere pastry shop in the big city, but his new boss suggested that if Frankie so enjoyed his decorating and helping out small parties he should find a job elsewhere. Frankie quits and moves closer to his best friend and only family, finding himself looking for a job. When his trip to the coffee shopmleads him to Devin and the possibility of making pastries for the shop and cakes as his own boss it seems to be a match made in heaven. Liking the owner doesn't hurt either.
Devin and Frankie are both attracted to each other and it just grows as time goes on with them working together. They have similar values, with both wanting to be a successful business, but not willing to sacrifice the small jobs in the community to ensure they do so. Frankie sees how important Devin's niece is and not only respects the time he takes for her, but makes time for her himself. When Devin has concerns about committing to another person when he has just recently taken on the adoption, and his concerns about neglecting one of the other person in attempting to build both relationships, they take the time to talk about it and work it out. They also lean on friends and family as it takes many to make a family and raise a child. It was a very sweet story with growing love and small town feel.

Balentime’s Love Bugs
This book made me hungry, and I may need to visit a bakery. Jacki James knows how to write places that feel like home and characters that leave a lasting impression. Whether you love them to pieces or want to cliff a prissy jerk, you won’t be able to forget them. I love, love, love Frankie. His spirit, attitude and generosity are unparalleled. Plus he’s amazing with kids. Cap, well, he’s a dream come true. In fact, he’s a real-life teddy bear that I would cuddle up with any night or day.
“...special doesn’t come from what we do, it comes from who we’re with.” Everyone in River Gorge epitomizes this statement but none more so than Cap and Frankie. They are a Hallmark moment but with a dash of spice. It’s extremely sexy how Frankie uses Cap’s real name, Cap’s fascination with Frankie’s wardrobe, and above all their creative uses of furniture. These two are sinfully sensuous, but they’re also delightfully sweet together. They’re amazing and the source of my joy.
We can’t forget about Annie and how adorable she is. I hereby reserve my spot for any tea party with her and Frankie. I am so happy we got to revisit with Ripley and his goats; he’s such a character. What a great, feel- good story! I was pulled in from the first pages. It was so easy to become involved with the characters lives. This book has it all: an adorable little girl, a pastry chef extraordinaire, a hunky coffee shop owner, loyal friends, small town ethos, steamy sex, and a sleazy ex. Oh, and did I mention goats in pajamas? What's not to love?
Frankie is a baker with serious cake decorating skills. Leaving the big city for small town living is a huge step. But meeting coffee shop owner Cap, really changes everything. Devin has been called Cap since high school. After his sleazy ex leaves him without a pastry chef, his coffee shop suffers. Frankie is just the boost he needs. It's a win- win for them both. The thing with Jacki James is that I love her writing, enough that I find myself sometimes enjoying books by her that I probably would have only skimmed if written by a different author. This novella is one of those books.
The story follows two secondary characters in Finding Ripley: baker Frankie and coffee-shop owner Devin are a sweet couple, and reach their deserved HEA with a minimum of fuss and a lot of affection. I didn't really feel that much chemistry between them, especially in the beginning, but that could be because I haven't yet read Finding Ripley. However, add in cute preschooler and caring found-family, and the whole thing is a nicely put-together small-town romance a la a Hallmark movie. Unfortunately, I am completely burnt out on Hallmark-style romances right now and probably would have found the whole thing forgettable if written by a different author.
Overall, though, Jacki’s warm writing style kept me engaged until the end, even when the characters themselves didn’t. For those NOT burnt out by the trope, this is a fun low-angst read.

I cannot get enough of these River Gorge men. This was such a sweet book. I’m so excited we got Frankie’s story!!
So you don’t have to read “Finding Ripley” to understand this book but i highly suggest picking up that book too, especially if you want to read about Ripley and Reed. You’ll also be introduced to all the secondary characters from this book & the a’hole ex-bf.
So Cap (a.k.a. Devin) owns a coffee shop, takes care of his 4 yr old niece, and is in need of a pastry chef after his a’hole ex left. Frankie is in need of a new job, especially since the new head chef where he works is such a tool. Well, Frankie ends up saving the day when he makes these love bug cake balls for Annie’s Valentines class party. Seriously, reading about all the pastries and cakes Frankie made had me wanting to hop on over to Pinterest to see if I could find a visual representation. Omg, the scene with him and Annie decorating the cupcakes was toooooo cute. Oh so much goodness.
Anyways, I don’t want to give away too many spoilers. I really enjoyed reading this book. It just gives you all those good happy feels. So go pick it up. You won’t regret it.

Snowflake Kisses, Jacki James' contribution to the Snowed In - Valentine's Inc series, is a great small town romance.
Devin's a cafe owner who's raising his niece. The fun starts when he invites Frankie to work with him. It's superb the way this helps both men, and brings out the best in Frankie. There are fun bakery creations, with are wonderfully described, both fun and easy to envision.
My favorite character however is Annie, Devin's niece. The four year old is absolutely cute, sweet, and funny. The way she bonds with Frankie is superb and is a huge part of the story. If you enjoy kids, you'll love her. Honestly, if you enjoy kids, Jackie James excels in weaving adorable children into her stories.
As a couple, Devin and Frankie are amazing. Their connection is strong both in and out of the bedroom. But, best of all, there's lace! Oh wow, I love the lace!
The writing is great, with excellent dialogue and a quick pace. As I've come to expect from this author, she excels in the development of a fantastic group of friends, family, and small town feel. Although a predictable plot, it's still wonderful and riveting.
Snowflake Kisses is perfect when you're looking for your next fluffy romance. Jacki James will not disapoint.

Frankie and Cap hit it off straight away, a need for cakes for a Valentine's Day party at Cap's daughter's school brings them together. Frankie offers to help and brings to light his baking skills and fulfills Cap's need for this at his coffee shop and voila, a new business venture is born. They do their very best to remain platonic but a snowstorm puts an end to that. This is a sweet, contemporary romance with little/no angst and a real family feel to it. Cap even finds a new kink that he enjoys, but only with Frankie :-)

The second Men of River Gorge book is the story of a baker and a coffee shop owner who find love in this lovely small Texas town. A nice contemporary love story.
Devin makes the best coffee in River Gorge. But when his chef partner bails on small town living, his business falters a bit as he can't provide pastries to go with his coffee. Frankie is jobless, having quit a lucrative pastry chef job in a Dallas bakery because his boss is an ass. Frankie comes to Devin's rescue when Devin needs two dozen cupcakes for a preschool Valentines day party.
Frankie falls in love with the kitchen at the coffee shop and the two create a plan for a partnership going forward.

Yet another deviation from my TBR piles, but again, this series (Snowed In) is linked to the Valentine's Inc series, much like the Cruises series. The sixth book in this series is titled "Snowflake Kisses," and it's by Jacki James.

This book was fabulous. There wasn't a lot of angst or drama at all, and the drama that was there was entertaining as hell.
Their relationship was natural and developed so. It was easy and fun and they just went with it, letting their feelings guide them (Annie helped, too ;) ). Very cute overall and worth the read.

This was a quick read, funny, sexy, and sweet, that gave me the warm fuzzies. The beginning is a bit fast-paced, although it didn’t cut any corners. Then it slowed down, and we experienced the heartwarming growth from one-night stand and business arrangement to so much more between Frankie and Devin.
Frankie and Devin were loveable, real-life characters. Ordinary guys who make their living by baking and serving coffee. A match made in heaven. Even though the hot scenes are not plentiful, the chemistry between the two men is undeniable. They just click. Frankie has fled the hustle and bustle from the big city to the quieter life in a small town and to be near his best friend. And meeting Devin is just what he needs to get his life back together. Devin is a wonderful father to his four-year-old niece, Annie. He’s set aside everything to give her a steady home. His and Frankie’s interactions with her are done just right, never over the top. The author hit the right tone with Annie. She’s a whirlwind, but an adorable one.
The presence of Ripley and Reed from one of Jacki James’s other books was a welcome surprise. It gave this story something extra.

Šlo to číst a bylo to Ťuťu- ňuňu, tedy sladké a nadýchané.

- Mělo to docela slušný příběhový oblouk.
- Dialogy byly čitelné.
- Postavy ušly-

- Celou knihu se v příběhu objevovaly nekonečné zástupy cameí totálně neznámých postav. Ano, fanoušci autorky je asi budou znát, pro ostatní neskutečně otravná manýra. (Do obchodu vstoupí postava a my strávíme několik odstavců tím, že je jiné postavy představují/upomínají čtenáře na jejich existenci, načež postava navěky zmizí, aniž by měla jakýkoli vliv na současný příběh.)
- Malá holčička, která v příběhu vystupuje je jen klasickým "objektem", vyskytujícím se v průměrných romantických knihách. Totálně neuvěřitelná, sladká a nenáročná bytůstka, která dělá rukus jen v momentě, kdy je to v příběhu třeba, všichni jsou do ni zcela bezhlavě zamilováni a ona bezchybně ukazuje instantní afinitu vůči správným postavám.
- Důležité momenty se odehrávaly často jen ve vnitřním monologu hrdinů, místo aby čtenáři ukázány v samostatné scéně nebo alespoň dialogu. Ukazuje na amaterský přístup nebo lenost autora.
- To, jakým způsobem autorka odbyla zúčtování s antihrdinou příběhu.

it's like an A+
4* - very good and will be often reread and is a WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises (like most of Andrew Grey books and Davidson Kings 'Haven Hart'-series)

hospitals). I can recommend them definitively!

I made the mistake to start reading Snowflake Kisses on an empty stomach, and soon I was ready to dive into the pages and snatch all the yummy things Frankie was baking.
And let me tell you, the romance between Frankie and Devin (Cap) was just as delicious as the cakes and pastries. At first I thought that it was serendipity that brought them at Cap's coffeehouse at the same time, just a fortuitous coincidence that led them to starting working together. But I couldn't stop laughing when events further in the story proved me wrong, and showed that it's been fate at play, aligning their destinies.
I enjoyed the way Jacki James put Frankie and Devin into each other's orbits. No insta-fireworks, just a slow meshing of their lives, until they seamlessly clicked and belonged to one another. That's why 𝗦𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗳𝗹𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗞𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀 is such a heart-warming romance, all about finding family, joy and love. Because now the two men have their cute little daughter, the support of their friends and family, so they can walk hand in hand toward happily ever after.

Frankie Taylor is a talented pastry chef who has moved to River Gorge for a fresh start. Devin “Cap” Roberts is a cafe owner and he hired Frankie to make pastries for his coffee shop while he also builds up with cake decorating business. it was supposed to be a business arrangement but he discovers something that leaves him wondering what Frankie has on underneath his clothes, business is the last thing on Cap’s mind. Cap is a newly single father and he has to be careful as he risks his daughter's heart as well as his own for any relationship but he soon realises that a love like theirs is worth taking a chance for.
I enjoyed this story with the joyful and full-of-life Frankie who was so good with Annie and Devin who was suitably cautious but soon realised that he had a chance with someone who could be his future. I loved their passion and lust for life and how respectful they both were of their personal lives as well as their businesses. Definitely a story to make you smile. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story containing mature content and lacy panties.

Two men at a loss for how to make a successful business in small town alone find that together they can make it work.
In more then just the business sense.
The event that leads to Frankie leaving the city and residing in the small town of River Gorge is one for the history books.
We've all be fed up with our bosses taking us for granted and in Frankie's case it was 100% the right direction to leave the city.
Frankie actually fits into the small town extremely well and finds the perfect little spot to plant himself and grow, but he can't seem to keep his hands off the hulking coffee shoo owner and his working partner.
Their relationship grows slowly overtime as they get to know each other and Frankie proves how soft, kind and supportive he is when helping Cap (Devin) with his coffee shop business and his niece.
The book comes to a head when the bane of both of their existences comes back to River Gorge. It's a make it or break it moment for the couple and business partners but we all know love prevails!

After meeting Frankie, and Cap/Devin in Finding Ripley by Jacki James, I was eager to spend more time with them. Snow Flake Kisses is the story of Frankie and Devin. Frankie is in River Gorge to spend time with his best friend Ripley. Devin is a local who returned home to take care of his mum and niece, Annie. Devin owns a coffee shop, that needs a baker, after his stuck up ex left. Frankie is a baker in need of a bakery after leaving his job due to a stuck up boss. These two find they are a perfect match, not just for business. Devin is a total sweetheart, kind, caring, and solid as they come. Frankie is a creative, caring, sunshiney dynamo. We get to meet more of the locals, most importantly Annie, Devin's niece, soon to be adopted daughter. This book contains, forced proximity, oh no, only one bed, lace and silk underwear being properly appreciated, two guys who are perfect for each other, found family, and delicious baked treats.

I received this book as an arc and I loved it. After meeting Cap in Frankie and Finding Ripley, I was hoping that they would get a story of their own, I didn't know if they would end up together though, but I am happy that they did. Cap is a coffee shop owner who grew up with Ripley and has gained custody of his young niece. Frankie is Ripley's best friend from the city who just wants to be the best pastry artist that he can be. After dealing with a jerk of a boss, Frankie quits his job in the city and moves to Ripley's hometown where he becomes the town's baker. He works out of Cap's coffee shop in order to help Cap drum up new business. Their romance what sort of a whirlwind oh, but I enjoyed it. It was cute, no angst, and really fluffy, and I lik5e that. I also enjoyed getting to see Ripley and Reed again. I really enjoyed Annie. She was adorable. I cannot wait to see what else happens in this little town.

When Cap has a cupcake emergency (we’ve all had those), Frankie steps in to save the day, and with that, their sweet friendship and romance gets it’s start.
I love the finding family vibes, and it’s not just about these three, but also with their friends and the town. A place in which to belong and with people who make it a home.

Cute, quick read
First I’ve got to say that this is one of the best opening scenes I’ve read! Set the tone for Frankie’s character and made me laugh and cheer out loud.
Frankie is a pastry chef who gets a job in Cap’s coffee shop providing the pastries. There’s not a lot of character development and that was disappointing as I really wanted to know more about Frankie’s background. We get a little more info on Cap.
You can really see the big conflict moment coming from a mile away and while it was gratifying I think I wanted to see more comeuppance for the antagonist.
Cute story in this Valentine’s Inc series though once again there is virtually no mention of the dating app as a story element.

If you have read Finding Ripley and loved Frankie you have to read this story. It is not a Daddy/Boy relationship. It can be read as a standalone.
Frankie has moved to River Gorge to spend time with his best friend, Ripley, after quitting his job.
Cap runs the coffee shop and looks after his young niece Annie. When he almost forgets the cupcakes he needs for Annie's school Frankie offers to help.
And soon a business partnership begins.
This is not a story of insta-love or insta-lust. It is a slow getting to now the characters and them falling for each other. An enjoyable read.

Very easy fluffy story. It’s sweet, and nothing more. The end was a bit too cheesy and coincidental for my taste, hence the 3 stars instead of 4. And there were a lot of unanswered questions. Why did people call Devin Cap? He said that started in high school, but why?
And I really didn’t understand the deal they made for Frankie working in the coffee shop and starting his own cake business as well. Did Cap pay him for the work? Did Frankie sell his pastries for his own profit? Or did he pay Cap for the use of his kitchen?
And when Jefferson came to get him: why did it take him so long? Why would Frankie have sold these cakes in November for June? Didn’t that problem start earlier? So many questions!
Still a cute story though.
