Amber Falls #2

Forever With His Boss

Rate this book

Ford broke the rules and fell for his boss. Hard. All that time stranded together over Christmas, who could blame him?

And maybe it was the magic of sleigh rides and kisses under the mistletoe, but... Sawyer fell for him too. Or, heck, maybe not. Because now that Sawyer had been called back to NYC, he'd gone radio silent.

Like... nothing, nada, zilch.

He was only supposed to be gone ten days, but now it's been a month and Ford is losing his cool. Would it be too crazy to hop a plane and go looking for him?

But what Ford finds when he gets there only deepens his confusion, because his boss is holding a toddler and suddenly everything Ford had thought about his boss makes him question if he even knows the man he’s fallen for.

Has Sawyer been leading a double-life this whole time and he's just too lovestruck to notice?

Read Stranded With The Boss first to enjoy this finale of Sawyer and Ford's story!

This was a fabulous read, amazing writing. Book one was shortish, gentle, and a sweet insta-love romance. This one was intense, much longer, lots of angst, and just heartbreaking. These two men who fell in love just wanted to be together and happy, but life kept throwing one thing after another, anyone who was disappointed or dissatisfied with book one needs to read this and see what this author can do. There are so many things happening here, twists and turns, but also sweet and sexy moments too. Amber Falls sounds like a wonderful place to be.

I’m torn on this one. On one hand I loved watching Ford and Sawyer progress in their relationship. They have continued to be happy in love, but Sawyer finds out he has 3 siblings and becomes guardians of them. The angst was minimal between Sawyer and Ford, and they were amazing parents. I loved the general story there.

What did bother me was that something was just missing for me and timing felt off. Sawyer was talking about marriage right off the bat, it then they wait 2 years. Meanwhile they are parents. They talk about adopting, and about a year and a half or 2 years later it happens. What really bothered me was that their wedding and proposal was a deleted scene. I’m curious why it wasn’t an epilogue. After the journey they went through, if I hadn’t found the deleted scene, I would’ve felt like the story was lacking.

I liked it, but was more bummed than the last book. 3.5 stars.

I loved book 1. It was a sweet and mushy. But Book 2 with the kids and the drama. This was satistfying. And the Bonus scene really tied it together. I was a little upset when I didn't see them get married because it was mentioned in Book 1, but then I read that adorable bonus.

Give me more of Amber Falls.

Amber Falls is where I want to be!!

Boy I loved Ford and Sawyer’s story. I’m so glad we got to see what happened after Christmas but they sure didn’t have an easy time. Luckily Cynthia and Larry weren’t the brightest candles lol. And even better we are getting Dean and Owen’s story next. Looking forward to how those two get together.

I'm so glad that we get to hear how Ford and Sawyer move forward with their relationship after Stranded with the Boss.
Not far into the book, we/the characters really learn the value of communication. Sawyer makes things a lot harder for himself and the new situation that he finds himself in and it's Ford who takes the stand and makes a move to find out what's going on. Neither could have anticipated how their lives were about to change, especially with how new their relationship is but overall, they handle things so well! They do form a stronger bond and get closer as we go through the book. Would love that reaction from more when they are faced with the same situation. The kids that become a part of the story really tugged on my heart and bring more life and sense of family.
There is a lot that goes on throughout the whole book, always something happening to the couple and their family. It seems like their just hit with one thing after another with little time to recover in between. Again, Ford's parents help to bring warmth and love to everything. Definitely something that the children appreciate and provide a sense of normalcy.
It's an entertaining and heartwarming romance. Definitely a fast track relationship considering the timeline of book one and two as well as the events of this book, though things that happen can absolutely bring people a lot closer rather than tear them apart. Really enjoyed Ford and Sawyer's story and the additions that were brought in. Loved them all and the new level that it took the story to.
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.

Forever With His Boss is a riveting romance. The second book in Rheland Richmond's Amber Falls series, it continues with that same feel good mood.

After meeting Ford and Sawyer in Stranded With the Boss, we now get into their relationship more. They are absolutely great together; a loyal and tight unit. Their story is full of endless amounts of love. Their relationship is strong enough to get past anything that comes their way, but it will be tested over and over. And they also have to test their trust in one another, and test it they do. But their absolute love for one another can promise you a happy ending.

The have to deal with suddenly having kids to raise, family issues, and more. They have to deal with homophobia, work issues, and a druggie parent. The chemistry between the men is smoking, and their bond becomes even stronger throughout their upheaval. And once again, there's a wonderful sense of family, as Ford's parents continue to bring a lot of warmth to their story.

I enjoy the author's writing style, finding it soothing and well developed. Her characters are lovable and the story line is compelling, with the perfect amount of angst. I definitely couldn't put this story down.

Overall, Forever With His Boss is perfect when you're in the mood for an established couple dealing with obstacles thrown their way. Rheland Richmond does a wonderful job with this story and I am excited to see what happens next in Amber Falls.

The first book in the Amber Falls series was all warm and fuzzy with Ford and Sawyer spending a magical Christmas together. Then came the distance both physical and emotional between them and I really wanted that fixed asap. Well, it didn't happen immediately but it did finally in this book. I call this a piecework story, because there are a lot of different pieces getting put together here. There is an instant family angle, there is the developing relationship and dealing with trust issues Ford and Sawyer have to work on, there is a character who returns to cause trouble and there is crime. Normally, a jumble like this would irritate me, but this author caught me up in book one with these two guys and the enchantment stayed with me so that I was willing to just go with the flow here, let whatever happened happen and see how things turned out. I was not disappointed. I wouldn't call this book "realistic" in the way certain things are handled but I didn't care. I enjoyed the ride and the mix of tropes and genres.

I discovered last year a little gem entitled “Stranded with his boss” a sweet short story about how Sawyer and Ford found each other and since then I was waiting for how this story continued. This book featured a wonderful sequel, again with a sweet and endearing story but now with a plot more complex and interesting with some angst situations that caused me heartache and tears balanced with more romance and hot scenes. Ms Richmond again showed us how good she is in creating amazing characters that trapped you in their story because their authenticity and charism, while leading a plot full of obstacles to overcome to get their forever. I strongly recomend to read it after book 1 to fully enjoy the evolution in Sawyer and Ford’s relationship. Simply brilliant!

This is the continuing story of Sawyer and Ford and the books should be read in order. Where book one was all sweet, light and fluffy, book two brings so much more depth, growth and maturation in character. Sawyer and Ford go fro a quick, whirlwind romance and start to settle in to the daily aspects of a committed relationship. There are plenty of twists and turns with well documented everyday incidences. This book shows some very well written and accurate scenes that are of the every day relationship process. Both characters must come together and fight with everything they have to make their relationship deepen and thrive. The rich side characters in this novel are so special and add to the story. This book will warm your heart!

I want to live in Amber Falls so realistic and charismatic. This storyline had so much going, a roller coaster ride of emotions, drama, violence, three traumatised children because of the death of their father and Sawyers dad. At times I was on the edge of my seat, but throughout Sawyer and Ford’s emotions were stronger and stronger I loved this couple, so realistic and thank goodness for Barb and Doug and building a resort. Rheland is an awesome writer and I intend to read all of her books. I love her humour.

I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book for my honest opinions of which I’m under no obligation to do so. I absolutely recommend this book.

I remember reading the short story last year and I had hoped that we’d see more of Ford and Sawyer.

The authors did not disappoint with this full length novel, delving into their lives. The characters are bright and lively. You feel for them as they go through the trials of raising children.
The writing is engaging and you want to see what happens to the whole family.
With this book, you can see the town being born and I can’t wait to see what the future brings us.

good plot, interesting twists .Recommend

This was a great follow up to Stranded With His Boss. It was a change to read a book about an already established couple and being able to see what happens in their lives together. There is so much more to this book then what you might expect from the blurb, but you won't want to stop reading. It's a very exciting story about love in every sense of the word!

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily gave my honest review.

This is a follow up to the short story Stranded With His Boss and I would recommend reading that before delving into this book.

Ford and Sawyer pick up where that book left off and boy do we go on a roller coaster of a ride with their relationship, pretty much everything is thrown their way and we are taken on one heck of a journey with them.

I loved how strong Sawyer and Ford were together, the author writes their love for one another exceptionally well.

This is the follow on from Stranded with his boss which was a sweet read of how the 2 came together. This is the conclusion and is a fab read! The twists are great, the drama is high, the worry and tension feel real and the passion is hot! I loved the flow of this story, I loved the kids and the way Ford and Sawyer loved them so much. I adored Ford’s parents and their total acceptance of everything. The book was just a pleasure to read!

Ford and Sawyer fell into a whirlwind romance in the previous book.
Now life has thrown a wrench in the works and they have to deal with the fallout.
This was a wonderfully complex and completely realistic and relatable story about life, love and relationships.
Absolutely sweet and emotionally compelling.

Worth reading if you like established couple.
Sweet but still with enough heat.
Definitely staying tuned for more.

ADD-ON: I just read the bonus scene with the wedding and proposal and I'm happy as can be. Sawyer proposing and marrying Ford was the missing piece I didn't know I needed.

Good

We now add children into the mix of Sawyer and Ford's relationship, and it's a crazy ride. This book is full of love, hurt, healing, and some characters too adorable for words and others you just wanna give a good smack. But in the end it's all about finding a family.

First let me say I am reviewing a newer version as of 2021. I read a few reviews before I started and I see some complaints about critical moments missing to make it feel complete and this version has all those good things.

I absolutely loved this book. I did have to take off half a star due to the secrets and lies at the start that really frustrated me but the other like 95% of it was fabulous. I don't usually like books that have kids especially when they come from another source outside of the couple, cause I don't like when the kid drama interferes with the developing relationship. So I really didn't expect to like this book but I was pleasantly surprised by how great it was. I won't lie. It definitely sped things up, like instalove x1000 but I just loved how they knew they were meant to be and equally jumped all in. It was a very sweet read with plenty of heat and lots of angst but not the relationship kind just lots of the plot drama kind. Sawyer and Ford were fabulous characters from the start of the first book til the end of this one and It was great to see their journey from start to finish. They had amazing chemistry. It did take me a few days to read this one cause it's longer and life kept interrupting me but I definitely would have read this all at once if I could have cause I did not want to put it down. I definitely recommend these 2 books. Looking forward to Dean and Owens book.

🏞Promising start but dragged on too long🤔

3.5🌟stars
I really liked the much briefer first book (Stranded With His Boss) in this Amber Falls series that brought leads Ford and Sawyer together. This follow-up started out well and I really enjoyed the first third or half of the book. But it was long and, at times, just lost my interest after awhile, like during their trip to California, the school play scene and some of the couple's dates. Steamy scenes were sandwiched in between alot of daily routine broken up by some malcontents who shatter their domestic bliss as this new team of five settle in to life in Amber Falls.

The author did a good job of capturing the feel of emotional uncertainty and upheaval introduced by the sudden introduction of three children into their couples bliss. Savie, Gavin and Callum, along with Ford's parents, made this a true family affair. The return of the children's mother and her subsequent actions made for drama but the storyline about the trespassing saboteur at the resort seemed a bit off.

Based on this story I don't know if I will continue with the series. I generally like MM romances with kids, heart and steam, but this one had me skimming through a considerable share of the last quarter of the book.

I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.

This is book two of the series, and it’s still featuring Ford and Sawyer, whom we met in book 1. I would highly recommend reading that book because it’s just too good to pass up and it will give you the full background of how and when they come together. Plus, it’s heartwarming.

Where book one was light and full of fluffy goodness, this book dug a little deeper, and we get to see exactly what our main men are made of. It was good to see Ford was still the little sassy guy we enjoyed, and Sawyer was still quite charming. Life was already wrecking havoc in their plans, but it decided to throw 3 kids in the mix...ones that Sawyer had no idea existed. They had a lot of things to learn as their journey of love continues. It’s enjoyable seeing a relationship deepen and grow with every day struggles, along with some curveballs.

This was a story with a lot of heart, as well as some laughs along the way. It was well written, and comes with a lot of great side characters. I am reading an updated version to the book, so a lot of the complaints in earlier reviews must have been fixed, because I didn’t find what they were talking about. I will say that I haven’t seen any previous versions, so this is based off of reading their reviews and what I experienced while reading the book. I would definitely recommend this series and this book. I’m looking forward to the next installment!

I loved this story and the way that the two men came together and cared for the children that Sawyer had inherited. Through it all they didn't lose their love for each other and there were only a few communication issues. I loved that they came together as a family. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

In Forever with His Boss we have the story of what happens after the HEA.

Ford and Sawyer are in love and planning a future together when life throws them a major curve and then keeps the hits coming. Book one was short and sweet but this one adds a lot more depth and angst to their story. They really have to work for their forever after. What I did like was that it wasn't just a given they would be together, they have to learn communication, patience, and compromise it was refreshing to read the reality of making a relationship work despite the obstacles they encounter.

As usual, I loved Ford and all his sassy-ness and he really made the book so much more enjoyable. There was a good cast of supporting characters and some truly evil villains to add drama. If I have any criticism of the book it’s that so much is happening and it could have been tightened up a bit to shorten it. I did find my self skipping through a little filler towards the last 1/4 but it was worth it.

A solid and enjoyable read when you’re in the mood for more substance than fluff.
