Ripped from the battlefield without a minute to spare, Willow finds herself on her deathbed and in a new realm. In these moments that feel like her last, she’s told the truth about her lineage and why she has been taken so far from her friends and family. With one confession out in the open more mysteries threaten to unravel the little truth she thought she knew. Can Willow save herself and maintain her free will? Or will she find herself trapped under a new villain's wrath?
I wasn't bored but it wasn't anything special either. I could only say that it was sort of Meh. Various things were happening but when they reached a climax or plot twist, it was wishy- washy and underwhelming. I am not continuing further so there's that. 🤷
The third book in the Mirror Realm series and it keeps getting better!
This book focuses more on Willow, the horsemen, and the challenges that were set up by Hel. We get to see a few other sides of the horsemen and learn a little about their previous lives. We constantly get to see Hel in this book and we can very quickly decide our feelings about her and where she stands in this whole scenario. There are points that we go back and check in on Cal and Nico but our main focus has been driven to the underworld and other various kingdoms.
Once again, A Lonergan delivers a completely magical and epic tale! Her writing flows perfectly and seamlessly. As a reader, I felt completely transported and got lost in reading this book. This story is built on a grand scale and is very much an epic fantasy! It is a story that is driven by characters and we very much go on a journey with them.
This book is full of action, betrayal, adventure, and surprises are around every corner! The characters engage us completely and have become more real over the series. It is very easy to like them (most of them) and root for your favorites to pull through. This book will send you through the emotional ringer and leave you wanting more and fast!!
Another excellent piece of work by this incredible author! I very highly recommend it!
Willow, Nico and Cal are at war with no end in sight. With the disappearance of Balam, Willow isn't sure how she can make any ground or even understand the new powers she seems to be getting. No complaints on the new armor she manifested, but it would be pretty nice to have some guidance. The space between she and Cal has brought on a friendship with Nico she never expected but an injury in the field will take even that away. Assassin's Will spends most of its time with Willow and the horsemen in the underworld and a task to uncover who is making attempts at Hel's life, or is it really to take over other realms? We learn a lot more about the underworld and the horsemen, but less Nico... Sad day. But, I WILL accept his deepening loyalty and friendship with Willow as trade.
There is a such thing as too many plot twists and this book has them to the point that it’s trash. I try to make it through and I got pretty far but I just couldn’t anymore.
Some plot twists in this book, i was really hoping we would see her purple dragon be born though, also hopefully Willow & Balam can form a relationship in the next book
