Seven years ago, she was sheltered. In need of guidance. I was a newly-ordained priest with a vow of celibacy. Our love affair was torrid, and wrong, and ended in heartbreak.
We broke it off and went our separate ways.
I left the priesthood. She left her home.
Seven years later, she’s stranded in my NYC Club while a blizzard rages outside, and she wants a taste of dominance.
I won’t let another man lay eyes on her, much less touch her.
Fueled by dark chocolate and even darker coffee, USA Today bestselling author Jane Henry writes what she loves to read – character-driven, unputdownable romance featuring dominant alpha males and the powerful heroines who bring them to their knees. She’s believed in the power of love and romance since Belle won over the beast, and finally decided to write love stories of her own.
“Salvation” is the fourth entry within the “NYC Doms” sphere but reads as a complete, standalone story. The riveting plot is filled with mystery, suspense and great characterizations with a touch of well-placed humor. Professionally written and extremely fast paced, Ms. Henry has woven an engaging tale set within the world of BDSM that is uniquely original and difficult to put down! The story flows seamlessly from the first page to the very last. The characterizations are complex, engaging and felt so very real. The main characters are especially likeable, and the narrative is simply captivating. As with all of Ms. Henry’s novels, the heat level is incendiary, and the hero’s brand of dominance is tempered with respect as well as affection.
I’ll be stalking Ms. Henry impatiently until the next “NYC Doms” release!

I love Verge and it's here we find Noah/Axel. He's a Dom trying to redeem himself from his past. When Shandra shows up from his past, things get crazy. The connection between these 2 has always been instant and it still holds true years later after they've broken up. Did I mention I love second chance romance! Shandra is looking to do some research for her books and Axel is just the man to show her. They have a past that each seem to be running from but when a blizzard strands them at the club, can they work things out before that past catches up with them? This story just drew me in from the first and kept me turning the pages as I had to find out what was going on and who was after them. I highly recommend this book and am eagerly looking forward to the next one!!!
Great read and love the NYC Doms #2. The characters are cohesive with the past history and now present seven years later. Chandra has been writing kink books and works part-time at her friend, Marla's store, Books and Cups and now she has invited her to Club Verge, tonight. She is going to get up close and be able to get real knowledge and experience with the kink that she dreams and writes erotic books about. Chandra is to meet Marla at the club and show her around to club. Marla finally shows and she starts introducing her to some of the people in charge. Then they go to the bar and get drinks. While at the bar a man comes up to Marla and asks her to join him. Chandra tells her she will be fine and to go. Then Chandra hears a voice from the past. It can't be and looks around not finding anyone she knows. Now she thinks of the past and it brings up memories that she doesn't want to think about. But of course, once a thought surfaces it's harder to push it away. Noah the man she loved years ago when she lived with her parents and kept on a tight string. Sheltered arranged marriage and then not. Chandra begins to want things desired a love of a man who loves her cherishes her. When she meets Noah. Young new priest for the small parish and they are drawn together. Love. They try to sneak around but the scandal is revealed and Noah is gone and Chandra is left with a mess to contend with at home. Seven years ago... Axel is the new dungeon master it's his first night and he's checking everything and everyone. Keeping all safe no Dom is taking advantage of their sub. No problems observed. He goes to check in with Tobias, the owner of Verge, to discuss the weather situation and if the club needs to be closed because of it. It's decided the club will remain open for now. As Axel walks back to the dungeon he hears a sound that makes him stop in his tracks. It's a laugh that has haunted his dreams and nightmares. Axel is pulled from the past when the sound of ringing phones and announcing the condition outside has reached a blizzard warning. Members are gone now and Axel makes rounds checking that everything is cleaned and put away and clear for him to go to his private room but he calls Tobias first to tell him the all clear for the club. He's on his way to his private room that he keeps here when he hears a sound and freezes then he follows the sound to one of the women bathrooms. As he enters he calls out, Hello. A woman moans, Go away. "Chandra?" She whispers "It's a nightmare." His reply is "Nice to see you, too." The story is past and future. The story is great and I loved reading every word and recommend it.
I read this without reading the previous books in the series. I need to stop jumping into a series without reading the previous books as I’m. Issuing out on some great reads by doing so.
Chandra works in her friends book shop and is also busy writing. When invited to Club Verge she can’t resist in the hope she gets a better insight for writing erotic books. She gets more than she bargained for when she sees Noah, a blast from her past. Noah trying to move on from his past goes by Axel now. He’s shocked to see Chandra again.
This is a well told second romance. I absolutely loved the two main characters Axel and Chandra. I’m looking forward to reading more from this author in the future.
Wow, I loved this story. The history that these two characters went through before they find each other again is so heartbreaking that it makes you wonder how they could ever get over it.
Chandra has always been trying to find her way in life. Her family is no help and has only wanted her to do what they wanted. When she falls in love with a person, not for her she is branded a who*e and decides to leave her home.
Axel/Noah is that person. He was a priest when they first met. They were never supposed to fall in love but they do anyway. Years later they find themselves in the same place, Verge, a BDSM club.
What will these two do when they are snowed in together? Will they be able to deal with their past? #mustreadstory
The fourth story in the NYC Dom series is a great addition to the first three, Deliverance, Safeguard, and Conviction. The story will have several key players from the previous books but is written in a way that it can hold its own as a stand-alone. The story has a great cast of characters, real-life emotions, mystery, and suspense, danger, angst, and is definitely a page-turner that I did not want to put down. I am hoping that we will see more books in this series.
Axel is a man with a past, one that haunts him with his demons. One that he hasn’t shared with even his closest of friends, and keeps close to his vest. He works two jobs, one as a mechanic, hence the name Axel, and another at Club Verge, a BDSM club in NYC.
“Do we ever lose the demons? It’s a constant battle, you know. Good and evil. Right and wrong. Selfish or selfless.”
Chandra was born in America, but her family is from India and hold to old-fashioned customs. They have always controlled her life, where she could go, who she could see, and then an arranged marriage with a man of their choice. But Chandra has different plans, ones that involve taking control of her own life, but the surprise is meeting Father Noah.
The story will have some backstory and memories of Chandra and her involvement with Father Noah, the angst of their relationship and eventual separation. Against everything she was raised with, she will leave her family, move to New York City and pursue what she wants, which will include writing romance novels with power play, dominance and submission, and BDSM. She will find an outlet working for Marla at Books and Cups and finally take that extra step, one to help her with her writing, and enter Verge—and this will be the rest of the story.
“Creativity can’t be corralled. So when the muse comes knocking, I have to answer the door.”
Axel is on DM duty, the club is packed, and they are watching the weather closely. Several times they forecast blizzard conditions only to fizzle out, but not tonight. The weather turns, and Axel must evacuate the club, then he will stay there in his private room for the night. What a shock as he is doing a final sweep to discover a woman in the restroom sick—but even more surprising, she is one from seven years in his past. She is the one who still haunts him.
“We’re alone at a BDSM club. It’s almost like it was fate.”
Axel must keep Chandra at the club and safe, and it comes with so many mixed emotions--part of him is happy to see her, and another is furious that she is at a BDSM club. The next day weather will keep them in, and she begs him to scene with her for her writing, so he gives her what she wants on his terms. Will this be the end of them, or will fate have other plans?
“You just declared ownership of me.”
The story has danger and suspense, troublemakers, and eventually answers to why. Are Axel and Chandra in danger? What will it take to keep her safe? Part of him wants to lock her away, and yet another knows that he can’t do that, but he can place restrictions on her. Axel will have to wrestle demons of his past, knowing he always had dominant tendencies, that he enjoyed the control he held over a submissive. He learned that it is a give and take, just like what he has with Chandra, and her gift of submission is in her control, and that it is her power.
“I wonder, right here, while the club members pursue their interests, isn’t this the battle of selfish versus selfless? Good and evil? Right and wrong? They need to trust one another, and they strip away all that holds them back when they bring and bared, vulnerable selves here to play, both dom and sub alike. When given the choice, submissives can choose to retain their own control or relinquish it to someone else. Dominants wield authority that has the power to build or destroy.”
The story has the good, the bad, and the ugly of people. It includes life and death, secrets, scandal, and plots. It is a forbidden love story of two people who must confront the past, bury it behind them and approach the future together. It is a power struggle of accepting that with two consenting adults who both want the same thing, there is nothing wrong, as long as it is safe, sane and consensual. The story will depict scenes inside a BDSM club, but between Axel and Chandra, they will scene in private, along with explicit sex scenes.
A PHENOMENAL, character-centered, erotic ROMANCE is full of suspense, and STEAM! A MUST-BUY! “SALVATION,” author Jane Henry’s latest addition to her NYC Doms Series, is a scintillating titillation into the world of a BDSM club. (So those under 18 years of age need not apply.) Now, after reading “SALVATION,” I know that if ever I get to NYC, there is only one place I want to visit, and that is Club VERGE. The way author Jane Henry brings Club VERGE to life, weaving it into a reader’s reality with her smooth yet descriptive eloquence, it ought to be a place one could visit while in The City. Add to the place, some amazingly realistic and well-developed characters, who become embroiled in some drama that could have come off of the front page of The City’s newspaper. Through dual narration, Henry gives her readers insight into the psyche, intellect and angst of her characters, who though flawed are striving to be better, to be worthy of the love they yearn to give and receive. Characters Chandra and Axel were easy to fall in love with; so, rooting for their happily ever after felt inevitable. In addition, readers are given the treat of catching up with characters from the previously released novels within the “NYC Doms Series.” Beyond the characters, “SALVATION’s” plot is so realistic! It’s all twisty and turning like the drama of real life, and that compelling plot demanded this reader finish the novel before I could put my Kindle down. Within “SALVATION” is a layer of suspense that Henry develops slowly, in the background, yet concurrently is totally visible to a reader. However, when the trap is sprung it may surprise even the most discerning readers! It is no wonder that “SALVATION” is my newest favorite contemporary, erotic romance novel. I voluntarily read an ARC copy of “SALVATION” and this is my honest, voluntary review of a 5++STAR story. I STRONGLY suggest that you get your copy of “SALVATION” today. You will be so glad you did! Happy pages! 😉
Salvation is the fourth book in the NYC Doms series, but can enjoyed completely if you start here. Chandra is an erotic romance author, but lately her muse has been quiet. Taking a chance, she goes to a BDSM club with her friend, where is shocked to find Axel. She used to know him as Father Noah, the man who introduced the submissive side of romance to her, the man who stole and crushed her heart, the man she still loves. As they are forced to spend time together, is everything they’re feeling just due to closure, or can they have their second chance at so much more?
Oh my goodness, this book took my breath away, had my heart pounding, and I even had tears in my eyes once or twice! This is a beautiful second chance romance where before, they were both a little broken and everything was taboo, but now is their chance to do things right. This book had all of the feels, and I loved the main storyline between Chandra and Axel. I love that Chandra wore her heart on her sleeve, that she was feisty enough to question things, brave enough to do the things she loved like writing, but completely submissive to Axel, whom she loves and trusts. Axel was just this tortured soul that you couldn’t help but want to love, and I think my favorite thing about him was that he never took Chandra’s love and submission for granted. This book is hot and steamy, sweet and romantic, and I really loved coming back to Verge and the Doms that will steal your heart!

Jane Henry is taking us back to Verge. This time we're getting a great second chance story, with a soupcon of revenge.
So, Axle is one of the DMs at NYC's best kink club. On the night of a huge blizzard, a ghost of his past walks in. It throws him off his stride, and it doesn't help when he finds her sick in the bathroom after they closed the club because of the weather.
Chandra knew Axle back when he was Father Noah and a brand new priest who was supposed to be embracing celibacy and who instead ended up embracing Chandra. After the news that they are together breaks, Father Noah leaves the priesthood and Chandra ends up leaving her parents' home after the breakup turns even worse. And serendipitously, they both end up in NYC.
Chandra and Axle don't have an easy go of it. Jane Henry likes to torture her characters a little, and she definitely did that with these guys. Not as bad as she could've done, but they are struggling to figure out who they are apart and who they are together and how to deal with outside forces. I love Chandra, a lot, and the fact that she's a writer. She's kinda meta, lol. Axle is an OK guy, I like him. He doesn't necessarily get as high-handed as some of the Dom-ly types do, but he does get a little over, but that's always the risk when it comes to Alpha-ish guys. Doesn't mean I don't like him, because I did. And I'm so into a second chance romance, and this is a good one. Jane Henry does second chance really well, so this is such a gift.
This is SO not what I was expecting from NYC Doms but it was SO worth it! I loved how Jane Henry has worked to slowly give us Axle and Chandra's story and it completely hooked me in - I found it touching how we get glimpses of past and present as the hurt and pain is explored, revealed and healed. As they say, there is no pleasure without the pain and Axle and Chandra's story is full of both in more ways than one.
This one is quite complex and though we get to see some of our favourite Verge players, this is truly a one couple story until almost the very end when we learn of a possible threat that threatens not only Axle and Chandra, but also those at the Verge also. I also love that we may have met our next pairing the Verge has to offer and can't wait to see where Ms Henry takes us next in the NYC Doms series.
Sexy as always but with so much heart and soul behind it, it's hard not to fall in love with the salvation Jane Henry gives us. Loved every page and definitely one to add to your TBR pile!
When Chandra tags along to Verge, a BDSM club, with her new boss/friend, she never thought she would end the night with her old love, Noah, now known as Axle. Seven years ago, they fell in love, but Axle was a priest and that was forbidden. Now the two have found each other again and have a chance at that happiness they had once glimpsed. But is it too late for them, has it been too long?
So for me this was just an OK read. I love some BDSM stories and this was a bit of a let down. I loved the whole priest taboo but we didn't even see that but in a few flashbacks. As far as the BDSM went it was just ok. This just fell flat for me, even the drama with the Russians was a bit forced IMO. I give this 3.5 stars.
Another stellar story for the NYC Doms series! Second chance love was a fantastic surprise in Axle and Chandra’s story, was not expecting that. I loved how their past was written in the story and how it was put that Axle had pretty much always knew that the priesthood wasn’t the correct path for his specific bedroom tastes but didn’t know any better. The blizzard was the perfect opportunity for them to get reacquainted with each other since they were literally stuck in the club...and what a place to be in snowed in!! The dangerous past that catches up with them seems to be a new subject point for the next story as well. I’m assuming we’ll hear more about the Bratva, Viktor and Marla in the next NYC Dom story!!
Axle and Chandra, two souls floating through life without their other half.
Chandra was just looking for research to write her books. Axle was just doing his job, watching over the club. They were once lovers but forced from each other because others deemed their relationship a sin. Now they are back together and no one will separate them again.
The love between these two is so strong. She needs his dominance and he needs to protect her in every sense.
Jane has once again gifted us with a sexy and gripping book. I know I'll be reading it again and again!
Shandra is out at Club Verge with her friend Marla to explore the dynamic of Dom/Sub for a new book she is writing when she hears a voice from the past. Axel works at the club trying to redeem from his past when finds Shandra in the ladies room during a blizzard. Can these two broken souls find what they were always looking for? Can they finally bury their past and get on with life? The personal interaction of the characters is well thought and is very intense. What can I say, I love this series. I voluntarily reviewed an arc.
I really didn’t like this. I don’t like BDSM/dom books but this was highly reviewed so I thought I’d give it a shot.
Chandra is incredibly one-dimensional. She comes from a conservative Indian family (tbh the way the author described her/her family was kinda gross. “Her family came from India, but she had no hint of an accent”...why would she if she was born and raised in the States? Why does this need to be noted?). Noah was a little more interesting, I guess. What really bothered me was when Chandra would tell Noah to stop and he would just refuse, because “he knew what she needed.” Uh...no thanks.
Sad because this was definitely well written. Just not for me.
I loved this book! Shandra and Axel/Noah were on FIRE! THIS BOOK WAS HOT! I was taking my tree down while listening and had to stop a few times. amazing job as usual to this author. *AudioBookObsessionReviewer*
Seven years ago Chandra had a scandalous affair with a priest. She was very young and they broke up when they got caught. They run into each other in a BDSM club and he's no longer a priest. She submits to his dominance as they find their way back to each other.
This book was totally worth reading! Chandra goes to Verge, a BDSM club with her new boss/friend. She never dreams that her past will walk back into her life. Noah now goes by Axel. He’s not who he used to be anymore. A great second chance romance book! Steamy, romantic story. *Magic Beyond The Covers Book Blog*
This has been my favorite NYC Dom series book so far! I loved Axle! I would have loved to see more steamy flashbacks/memories of their earlier relationship but I devoured what we did get! Great read!
Title: Salvation Author: Jane Henry Format: Audio Narrators: Gunnar Qualen and Jenna St. Claire Genre: Romance -Second Chance, BDSM, Supsense Standalone: Yes Part of a Series: Yes Book 4 of the NYC Doms series POV: Chandra and Axle Steam Level: Hot 4.5/5
Salvation is the second book I've read by Jane Henry and the first I've read of this series. I loved the elements of steam, second chance, and suspense. Both Chandra and Axle knew each other in a different like and I loved how they fit back together. I liked that the conflict in the story isn't really about their relationship, with the exception of some (minor) inner conflict about their past, their societal roles in that past, and what could have been. I loved the narration in this audiobook. The edits flow together with the narrators speaking the dialogue themselves, rather than whomever was reading that chapter doing the dialogue. It took a minute to get used to it but after I loved it. I received this audiobook for free. This is my honest and voluntary review.
Axel is a complicated man with a past that haunts his dreams. He had put so much faith into his priesthood, but then everything came crashing down around him causing him to question his beliefs and who he was. He's found a new start, and his new gig at Verge is a step in the right direction for who he wants to become. Memories from his priesthood suffocate him, and the control he craves as a dominant allows him to breathe again. The last thing he ever expected to find at the club was the one woman he regretted leaving behind.
Chandra has had every piece of her life carefully planned out for her, plans that she never wanted. The control her parents had over her left her feeling as though she was drowning, struggling to breathe and gain control over her life. She only ever felt free when she was with Father Noah, but after everything fell apart he left her to pick up the remaining broken pieces of her heart alone. She has worked hard to distance herself from her parents and has created a whole new life for herself. She's finally ready to jump into the waters of writing erotic romance, but when she went to Verge to research she never expected to find Father Noah. His name may have changed, but the ache he left in her heart still remains.
Holy mother of Toledo. This is how you write a second chance romance. You can feel the electric pull between Axel and Chandra from the moment they stumble upon each other at Verge. There were so many broken pieces, secrets, and demons between them that they had to over come in order for them to fit together again. They both thought they needed to distance themselves from everything in their past including each other, but when push comes to shove they needed each other to feel complete and help wade through their new selves. Axel needs Chandra to help him make sense of his demons and to help him forgive himself for who he is. Chandra needs Axel to help her find the release of submission without the overwhelming feeling of having no control. The events of their past broke them completely; it took 7 years, forgiveness, and faith in one another for them to piece themselves back together.
The complexities that Jane Henry brings with her characters and BDSM is fascinating. The concept of a former priest struggling with his dominant tendencies was flipping brilliant. Axel's struggles with his bruised faith and his fear of enjoying being in control of a submissive were interesting to see play out. To see a Dom so afraid of his dominant side and reassured by his Submissive was tragically beautiful to watch play out. Chandra taught Axel that her submission is a gift and that being able to give that gift is where her power lies. She chooses who she gives control. It's a give and take relationship, she needs to give Axel her submission just as much as he needs to give her his control.
The plot will keep you on your toes and surround you with a mystery you will yearn to solve. The story is captivating and will have you feeling everything her characters are going through with your own beating heart. Jane's characterizations are multi-faceted and a beauty to watch unfold. She isn't afraid to show you the good and the ugly in people, that her characters are flawed and human. Jane brings a fresh take to the BDSM and isn't afraid to challenge the normal kink narrative.
Axel and Chandra pulled me in from the first moment in the bathroom. A moment that felt so raw and where demons threatened to be too big for real closure. Love isn't easy, but Axel and Chandra weren't afraid to give everything they had to fight for each other. Chandra was Axel's salvation when he believed he was beyond redemption.
Salvation is the 4th book in the NYC Doms series and I have to say it fit in perfectly.
In our favorite NYC club Verge is a man named Axel, or otherwise known as Noah. On his first night as dungeon master he finds a blast from the past in a girl named Shandra. They have history together and because of a snowstorm and some bad luck, they're stuck together at Verge until the weather lets up.
I loved Noah and Shandra's chemistry together. They were obviously made for each other and had some amazing banter with each other. Shandra was such a strong character, she didn't have the greatest past, not counting what happened with Noah and to be able to have overcome that and be such a confident woman, was amazing to read about. Noah, our favorite former Father had a strong presence as well. He made some bad decisions sure, but he more than made up for them.
I'm normally not really a big fan of books that seem to contain clear religion references in the form of relationships with Fathers or stuff like that, but I devoured this book. Despite Noah having been a Father when he met Shandra, he gave up that life and the book focused more on the relationships and overcoming bad pasts and mistakes so I found it didn't bother me as much.
The thing that did bother me a little was how easily the danger to Shandra seemed to be resolved. It felt like their wasn't a lot of focus on that part of the story and the resolution to it seemed a little like an afterthought. Although there was a setup for some more on that in a possible future story about Viktor and Marla so I hope to see a bit more in that.
Other than that, I loved this book and read it in one go. Highly recommend it!
Chandra💘Axle! Awesome Story & Narration🎧 💖NYC Doms Salvation NYC Doms By: Jane Henry Narrated by: Gunnar Qualen, Jenna St. Claire Series: NYC Doms, Book 4
This book is a great addition to “NYC Doms" Series. Jane Henry continues to create interesting storylines that are captivating from start to end. Her characters are complex and well developed as well as realistic and relatable. This is Chandra and Axle’s story. Chandra, an author, goes to Verge, a BDSM club with her friend Marla. She wants to learn more about the lifestyle and explore her own needs. The last person she expects to see is a person from her past, a past she does not want to remember. Axle is no longer the person she knew likes to keep his women at arms length with no emotions or attachments. All that changes when he sees Chandra. I enjoyed how their story played out and how they begin to bond again, they were great together their chemistry was undeniable. I liked how Jane Henry plotted their story, tying their pasts to current day events. There is never a dull moment, there is plenty of drama, some suspense, some hot BDSM scenes, some great romance and a second chance for love. Thank you for another great story and an emotional rollercoaster ride!
I listened to the Audible edition. Gunnar Qualen and Jenna St. Claire are terrific narrators and voice performers. They brought these characters to life, gave each their own voice and personality, as well has heart and attitude. You can hear the emotions of the characters and the drama of the story in their performance. I loved Gunnar’s Axle, he was fierce, great job on the different accents too. Also loved Jenna’s Chandra, sweet yet strong. Thank you for another great and entertaining listen🎧.
2.5 out of 5 stars I was really rather disappointed with this read. I have mostly been enjoying this series, but this one . . .
I am not a fan of the second chance trope. Usually much too angsty for my tastes. But, this is part of the series, and the priest/parishioner twist titillated the interest. *eye roll* Ended up being not titillating at all. In fact, I developed much dislike for the 'laicized' father. Although he admits to himself that he took vows for the wrong reasons, and even forgives himself, he refuses to discuss it with Chandra. Even when she is feeling bad about how she has been vilified by her family and community his response was, "It's in the past. Let it go." Not once did he take responsibility with her for what happened. He lets her continue to feel all the blame. Yeah, no! Okay, I didn't like the hero. I thought he was a douche!
We got to find all this out through flashbacks, one of my least favorite of writing tools. I feel like I get whiplash trying to keep up. And boy howdy. The angst. Why I tend to stay away from second chance books. That may not have been so bad if it hadn't taken up the first two thirds of the story. Then wham-bam-thank-you-maam, some action gets tossed in. Not only is it rushed, but it is poorly done with plot holes and unanswered questions. Really?
This gets as many stars as it has because I did finish the story. I kept waiting for something redeeming and interesting to happen. Could explain why it took me three evenings to read. I kept falling asleep. Also, there was some adequately hot scenes for some pleasant dreams.
i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the fourth book in the NYC Doms series. In this book Axle is starting as a dungeon master and there is a blizzard forecast. Axle is starting to want to find a sub for himself and when Marla tells him she hired someone to work at the coffee shop and her name is Chandra, he is reminded of a former love. When Axle was a priest named Noah, he had an affair with a young woman named Chandra. When their affair was exposed, it caused a scandal and forced Axle to leave the priesthood. Years later, Axle is now a member of Club Verge. When they decide to close because of the blizzard, Axle is going to stay in his private room for the night. He hears someone in the lady's restroom and when he goes in he is shocked to see it is his former love Chandra. They are stuck together because of the storm, and Axle wants to know why Chandra is in a BDSM club. Chandra tells him she writes erotic books and was looking to research. Axle offers to help her research for the day while they are there. They still have feelings for each other and Axle wants to be with Chandra, but knows he has to give her time. When Axle suspects trouble at the club, he tells Tobias and they investigate. i love this series. This was an emotional book about lost love. Axle and Chandra loved each other very much and needed to deal with the way they parted in the past. They had a second chance at love and they needed to trust each other. Another great one from Jane.
Give me a Jane Henry book, and I know I am in for hours of complete satisfaction! The 4th book in the NYC Doms series has a little taboo, a little suspense and a whole lotta heat all packed into it's hours of entertainment! Axel is working at Verge, a BDSM club, when his old flame walks in. Chandra is looking for first hand information for her upcoming book and is surprised to see Axel. Now at the club, stranded in a blizzard, these two are given a second chance at love. Once again, Henry weaves an incredible story. It's filled with layers, which is something I love about her stories. As we get to know the Axel and Chandra, a little more is revealed, but never enough to know all the details! And their pasts hold secrets that when revealed may break them. Suspense enough to keep you guessing, passion enough to keep you panting, this story is one you will love. And a cameo from Tobias makes it even better if that is possible! Another great addition to this series!
Gunnar Qualen and Jenna St Claire have such a great chemistry to begin with that when narrating a couple, you can feel the attraction and draw immediately. Qualen has a wonderfully deep baritone and gives Axel that overprotectiveness. St Claire gives Chandra that edgy feel, not afraid of anything, yet an underlying vulnerability. I love their performance!
A great read, a love that overcame all Chandra was surprised to once again meet Noah and even more surprised to discover that he now went by Axle, when she first encountered him, he had been a priest, she had been put in to a totally unwanted situation by being placed into an arranged marriage that she did not favour. After the two of them had an affair this had caused a backlash that has shocked them both its obvious hatred and bigotry, they had both had their name and their lives ruined. He had left the priesthood and she had been left unmarried after her fiancé had married another. Both had obviously got on with their lives and yet neither had forgotten their lovers and even though it had been a number of years, they had both again come together when fate and bad weather they found each other again and this time Axle [previously Noah] and Chandra begin to once again reacquaint their love that had long believed lost. However, love knows no boundaries and time in no more than the blink of an eye, it was a truly captivating read and as always, I will patiently await future titles by this wonderful writer. I received this book as an advanced copy & am choosing to review it voluntarily.
Salvation is an amazing story! I did not read the first three books in the series but this can be read as a standalone. It was truly amazing in that the two main characters we meet come from different lives but when they come together they are incredible.
Chandra and Axel have this love affair that is all consuming. Then one day Axel is gone and Chandra is left alone to pick up the pieces. Then 7 years later they are brought back together and things are explosive. Axel sees Chandra and knows he will make her his again and this time for forever. No one is going to touch her and no one else is going to claim her. Chandra sees Axel and wants nothing to do with him because she is still hurt over what happened years ago. She can't seem to forgive him for leaving but the more time they spend together the harder it is for Chandra to stay mad at him.
The closer they get the more things start to change for the both of them and Chandra and Axel's lives are about to change but is it for the better or will Chandra hold on to her hurt and pain and walk away before it is to late? This is a must read story that will have you on the edge of your seat wanting no needing more and when you get it you will be happy.
This is the 4th book in the NYC Doms series but can absolutely be read as a standalone! Axel is one of the Doms that works at Verge. He and Shandra know each other from a long time ago. Only she knew him as Father Noah and they had an inappropriate relationship. Fast forward to now, and she is finally willing to find out the things she dreams about. And that is how she ends up at a kink club with her friend. But when she is stranded at the club during a blizzard and Axle finds her sick in the bathroom-neither of their lives will be the same again.
Ordinarily I love this author's stories. This one I had a hard time with though. I don't know if it was because of the taboo with being with a priest or what. Parts of it just seemed forced to me. Almost as if the chemistry between them had to be forced into existence which seemed strange to me. The narration was good. Gunnar Qualen and Jenna St. Claire did good job although sometimes Jenna's whispery voice kinda got on my nerves. I really think that is just a preference for me though. So on a whole I would give it a solid 4. It was the greatest I have listened to but it was the worst either, and it still makes me want to listen to more about the other characters in the series which is always a plus! #AudiobookObsessionReviewer
