P.J. Shanahan is an author of action-adventure thrillers. He was born in Sydney, Australia where he resides with his wife, young son (and another on the way) and his oversized home gym he so aptly calls “The Dungeon”.

He has worked as a barista, bookstore clerk, property manager, project manager, been in a rock band that only just missed out on fame and stardom (or so he likes to tell people) and spent time living and getting lost in the glorious West Sussex countryside, U.K.

P.J. loves films in the sci-fi / fantasy and action thriller genres (basically anything with Harrison Ford). His favourite authors include James Rollins, Matthew Reilly, Michael Crichton, Clive Cussler and of course, J.R.R. Tolkien.

When at home, you will most likely find P.J. with his wife, playing with his son, in “The Dungeon” or hiding away in the study, conjuring up the next great adventure.

Charlie Patterson has one more day until he is discharged from the military. They lose contact with the military personnel guarding The Compound, a top secret facility in remote Western Australia. The commanding officer cancels Charlie's discharge. He has one more mission before he can get home to his pregnant wife. What they find is unexpected. A lot of action in this thriller.

ACTION-PACKED AND ADDICTIVE. ONCE YOU BEGIN THE STORY YOU WON'T WANT TO STOP UNTIL THE END. BREATH-TAKING MOMENTS APLENTY. INFORMATIVE AND INTENSE WITH MEMORABLE CHARACTERS, MR. SHANAHAN HAS PRODUCED A TRAGIC AND TERRIFYING NOVEL. HE ACED IT.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

The Compound is an incredible and entertaining tale. Charlie Patterson is leaving the Marines for good. He’s had enough. Fate, however, has other plans when his commander tells him that he has one more mission to complete before returning stateside. What he and his teammates will find in the middle of the Gibson Desert of Western Australia will have them questioning their sanity. It turns out this mission is a lot more complicated than they had been led to believe. The pace is frantic in this totally gripping action packed novel. This was without a doubt a crazy, insane, bloodcurdling thrill ride. It is definitely not for someone unable or unwilling to suspend disbelief. Well done P.J. Shanahan. I received a copy of this book for an honest review.

Well, I lost some sleep with this book. A couple nights' worth. I couldn't put it down! Normally, I do not read military orientated books, but this was a very good one. A young man who was being discharged the next day, was looking forward to being home in time for their first child's birth.

His CO called him into his office and told him he was declining his discharge because he was needed on a team going to Australia to find out why the last team went dark.

They got to NW Australia and couldn't find a soul....... until dark!

If you like action and suspense, don't miss this one!
