Dear Santa, I know I’m supposed to be nice, but this year, I need to be really naughty. Oh, and I need a BIG favor—Carson Wells, in nothing but a big pretty bow under my Christmas tree.
Xoxo, Felicity
Look, I’m desperate okay. I’ve been the kid sister, sidekick, and friend zone queen since I was seven years old, But this year, that all changes.
Growing up next door to my best friend was pure, wonderful…torture. From the moment my seven-year-old eyes landed on Carson, I was head over heels in love.
I tried to wish him to fall in love with me but all it got me was rejection. Forget feelings and romance this year, I’m going in for the kill—pure seduction. After all, Christmas is the time of year to let it all out, right?
I know Santa won’t approve but, I’m done being nice. It’s time for Carson Wells to see my naughty side once and for all.
Alexis Winter is a contemporary romance author who loves to share her steamy stories with the world. She specializes in sexy billionaires, cocky alphas, brooding bad boys and the women they love.
If you love to curl up with a good romance book you will certainly enjoy her work. Whether it's a story about an innocent young woman learning about the world or a sassy and fierce heroine who knows what she wants you're sure to enjoy the happily ever afters she provides.
When Alexis isn't writing away furiously, you can find her exploring the Rocky Mountains, traveling, enjoying a glass of wine or petting a cat.
Firstly, there were dual POVs. I really like when writers do this. I feel like it makes a story a lot fuller. Then the MCs, Carson and Felicity, quickly confessed their feelings for the other. BUT it turns out they each thought the other only wanted them in the physical sense…
It’s a little over halfway through the book where things have the unnecessary complication and complete lack of communication. Honestly, you’d think they would have better communication, seeing how they were best friends for so long…
I did like what seemed like anxious thoughts that ran through both Carson and Felicity’s mind.
I cannot tell you how many flashbacks there were. And some didn’t even fit with the narrative of the present day. I do love a good flashback but there were like 5 in the first 3 chapters!
Yes, they were informative and helped create a background for these characters, specifically for Carson but I feel a little cheated that we didn’t spend more time with the characters in the present.
I’m not super happy with that ending, or the epilogue. I think it really was about the pacing of the ‘present’ scenes.
While there were a few good and funny moments, I don’t think I’d ever read this again.
best friends who already were in love with each other from the beginning. next. i didn't like the writing style felt like it was so hard to follow especially that it would alternate between flashbacks.
Ugh how disappointing. This easily could've been a great read. From best friends to lovers. Such a good trope but ugh both of the characters were so annoying. He was a jerk. Really? If I can't have her, no one can. Except he could have her but he didn't wanna risk it. Understandable i guess but ugh that being the same reason for like 15 years after already almost hooking up a couple of time. Y'all both know how you feel about each other. Effing annoying. And her ughhhh throwing herself on him. Have some self respect. So immature the entire time. And then he finally tells her that he's in love with her (what she wanted the entire time) and she gets pissed off and says he ruined it all and they should just stay friends. What the actual f*ck. That was my last last straw in this book. 🙄🙄🙄 what was the point of the entire thing then ugh

4.5 STARS | A steamy, friends to lovers holiday romance that is perfect for the holiday season! This is my second Alexis Winter book I’ve read, after reading A VERY BOSSY CHRISTMAS last December (which I truly enjoyed!)! The story follows Felicity going home to her Mom for the holidays after graduating college. She then learns her best friend and next door neighbor (since they were kids), Carson Wells is also spending the holidays too with her. And she is excited to him after a roller coaster of friendship, fights, and love they shared together. But as Christmas approaches, their friendship becomes something more, turning their nice selfs, into naughty and lusting love. A sexy and quick Christmas romance that will sure lift your spirits this season!
I feel like this was promised to be a spicy holiday romance and it just fell short for me. There was spice but it wasn’t as descriptive as I would’ve liked. There was some fade-to-blacks (no thanks lol) and just meh. But cute story line
Short & Sweet! Felicity has wanted Carson since she was 7 years old. Carson saw her as a younger sister. He doesn't want romance to ruin their friendship, yet he keeps blocking other guys from getting with her. Hopefully, there's a HEA in their future!
Carson and Felicity grew up together and Carson has always been her protector. He has always struggled to keep his emotions in in check but their return home for Christmas will put his resistance to the test. Can Felicity keep challenging him to react and own up to his feelings but what will her reaction be when he eventually does. Another great book by this author. Naughty or Nice
This was a quick and cute holiday read. I really enjoyed it! I liked the dual point of view and watching how these two childhood friends (who always cared for each) and how their feelings for each other have changed as they’ve grown.
Ok so the sexy time was good but what annoyed me most about this book was that they clearly wanted each other but yet managed to convince themselves they didn’t!! This trope just frustrates me so much!
Carson and Felicity have been best friends since she was seven and he was ten. The two have always had feelings for each other but have never been a couple. Carson believes that Felicity is too good and pure for him and refuses be the one who changes that. Felicity has tried kissing him a couple times but he's always stopped. Now that she is graduated from college and returning home and so is Carson the two of them are hit with their feelings for one another again. Felicity seduces him and the two of them start sleeping together but both think the other is only in it for the sex and doesn't want more. Carson's ex wants him back and he realizes he's in love with Felicity but she is hurt that it took her acting like someone else to get him to tell her how he feels and says they should go back to how things were before. Carson is upset and leaves to get drunk on Christmas and by the time Felicity realizes she really wants to be with him he has gone back to the city. He returns for the New Years gala and she tells him how she feels and the two of them decide to be together. This books was fine, but I didn't like how hot and cold Carson was sometimes he wanted her and other times she was too good for him but he didn't want anyone else to have her either. I thought Felicity going from wanting Carson so much to not wanting him was confusing. She was so in love and so sure and then she just wasn't until she decided she loved him again. I can understand being afraid of being hurt but she seemed to genuinely not know if she wanted to be with him anymore.

I really liked the opening of the story as Felicity talked about graduating and what she felt the outlook was going to be as she transitioned back home. Finding a job and starting to “live” was funny in many aspects. She said it was like “….a big blank chalkboard.” For some reason I found funny when she said, while packing, that she took a desk drawer out and shook it over an empty box, too lazy to actually go through it and throw "ish" away. So typical of what happens when people are packing up at home, school, or anywhere else. I loved how the conversation between her and Carson was introduced and he called her “sweetheart” and told us right away that they were important to one another.
I love the way Felicity and Carson’s introduction to each other is written/explained. Him being an older neighbor looking for male friends after he moves into the neighborhood, but finding his best friendship in Felicity. I loved her personality as it describes her at seven years old and the way she is determined to have him in her life. Carson’s protection of her is great and it feels like he has that responsibility for her as both a love interest and best friend. I didn’t expect for Carson’s feelings to come to light so soon. I thought we would be a few chapters away from Felicity’s reveal before we got to Carson.
Felicity and Carson’s conversation about why they can’t be together is written so well. Even Felicity’s conversation with her mom about Carson was great. She mentioned that she knew he had a thing for her, which he always had. She watched them play as kids and she could see it back them as well as see that he loved her. She tells her that he would’ve done anything to protection her and he still would. That was such a great statement to read in their story. And then for Carson to say that he couldn’t have her because she was all he had…awwww. He calls her honey and sweetheart and they actually hold hands while doing “friend” activities together….double awwwww The last few pages (4 or 5) of Chapter 5 were bliss for me.
Chapter 6 is my favorite chapter. Carson talks about how devoted he has always been to Felicity, remembers losing a girlfriend because he spent so much time with Felicity and the girl was tired of him choosing her more. He realizes and admits to himself that he is “….in love with my best friend.” He also tells her that he thinks they should get together “one time” because he agrees that they can handle it and stay friends.
Chapter 8 writing was FANTASTIC! I tried to write about in this review but it would contain too many spoilers. Sorry, but it was Epic… As I got into Chapter 9, I was delighted to find more and more of their history together being revealed in little segments here and there. I like that the history was not being told during their actual conversations, all the time. Not a lot of “you remember when….?” over and over again that comes with stories about characters who are lifelong friends. I found that their element of drama was introduced and made sense. I absolutely LOVED how Carson rationalized his feelings about how Felicity felt about him based on her response to Gillian propositioning him. The writing at the beginning of that chapter was great. Revelations about Carson’s childhood without his dad and being mistreated by his mother’s boyfriends. Loved the part about Felicity taking up for him from being spanked.
So good that the element of their relationship is on such a relatable course and the relationship flowed easily. You can’t help but to actually feel like these people are real and you can see and believe what is happening between them. The writing is getting better as each chapter passes. I must mention that I actually love Carson and Felicity’s mothers. They are actually kind of funny in their reactions and position regarding their relationship. Carson’s mom was hilarious during a few scenes when Felicity and Carson are working things out and they think they are alone or in private The way this man watched her every move (when they were living in the same city) from the time she was 7 years old was such a thump to my “romance novel reading” soul. The way she settled on this way of life and let him lead while still maintaining a sense of independence and choice was novel. If she was upset or confused or mad about his actions, he relented in ways that we all know is abnormal for a dude, but is believable in the way it is written. He gave up times with other women to be with her after he beat people up and pushed guys away from her so that he felt he was at least being fair to her emotionally.
I typically don’t like and thought I would get irritated with the back and forth writing of conversations from the past. But this added so much to the story and detailed the relationship between these two. I think I came away actually feeling like Carson was an “alpha”, but not the typical alpha males in my romance novels. A nice, always respected and understood alpha…even to the guys he chased away. I even liked that you didn’t portray Felicity as the girl who “waited around” for Carson and didn’t have sex and him becoming her “first”. That is okay in some stories, but I think it happens too much.
Loved this story – the last paragraph sealed the deal for me and made for a wonderful reading experience.
Alexis Winter has written a 5-star book. This is the story about Felicity and Carson. Felicity and Carson have been friends since she was 7 and him 10. She has always had feelings for him and he has treated her like a sister. She has just graduated from college and now going back home. She has decided to get Carson while she is at home but at first, things don't go her way. She tells Carson that she wants him but he says that he doesn't want to hurt their friendship. She keeps pushing until he gives in. Once they sleep together, he tells her that the one time is not enough, that he needs more. Things go fine until his ex-girlfriend Gillian of 5 years shows up and wants him back. The reason she broke up with him is that he didn't want to get married and have kids. Gillian tells him that she would give him the time he needed if there was a possibility of them getting there one day. Carson doesn't know what to think. He had feelings for Gillian, Strong feelings. But now that he and Felicity were in a good place, he didn't know what to feel for Gillian. "Is that Felicity?" Gillian asks, looking out the window. Carson leans forward and he sees Felicity standing at her window. He pulls his phone out and sends her a text "I'll explain later." She reads the text and nods once and turns and walks out of her room. Carson stands up and tells Gillian "I'll show you out. She comes up to him and wraps her arms around his waist and he hugs her back. It doesn't feel the same as when he has Felicity in his arms. When they get outside, he sees Felicity and her mom in the car but hadn't pulled out yet. To his surprise, Gillian walks up to him and kissed him. He pulls away from her and looks at Felicity in the car and he sees hurt and pain in her eyes. "Too soon, huh?" Gillian asked. "Yeah, too soon," Carson said knowing that they were not thinking the same thing. He thinks it was too soon to be hurting Felicity. Carson and Felicity have been out and it is after they sleep together again that he tells her that he loves her. She gets upset about this. He wants to know why. She asks him why he couldn't have told her that before she did what she did to get him. She tells him that she did everything she could to let him know her feelings for him before and he didn't get it. But now after they sleep together, he tells her that he loves her. She asks if it was her of the pretend character she is playing now that he has feelings for. Will Carson realize how he really feels for Felicity? Can Felicity forgive Carson and get back together with him? This was a wonderful book and I would recommend this book to anyone.

When Is It Time for a “Nice” Relationship To Become “Naughty”?
From the moment 7-year-old Felicity met her new neighbor, 10-year-old Carson Lee Wells, she claimed him as hers. And while she never licked him to mark him as hers, he was. Felicity wanted to know him, to be his friend, to play with him, to count the number freckles he had across the bridge of his nose and to be the one who encouraged the dimples in his cheeks to appear when he smiled, matching the dimple in his chin.
But to 10-year-old Carson, his new neighbor—a girl, a first grader—was more of a burden to bear than a treasure to guard. And because of the 3-year age difference, Carson struggled through the years of their friendship to be the older, responsible partner in crime, protecting her from herself—from her curious, daring exploration of the world around. So, after years of friendship with Carson, 18-yr-old Felicity is ready to explore being “naughty,” but Carson wants to protect the “nice” girl from the temptations of young adulthood
But, time can improve one’s vision and allows for a better assessment of worth. And the dark haired, blue-eyed 24-year-old Carson’s vision has improved. The cutely irritating neighborhood pest has grown up, and now, in Felicity’s green eyes and cinnamon-brown haired form, he now sees his future. And finally, she is coming home to Benton, Illinois, with a newly minted college degree from a South Carolina university. But Carson and Felicity are still caught in limbo between the world of “naughty or nice.”
Carson has finally acknowledged to himself that only Felicity could provide him with the perfect words to say when he needed them. No other girl—no other woman—could stop him from doing something stupid with one look. None could get under his skin like she did. She had been the only one in his life who had any real power over him. And, he no longer wants to slow down or stop whatever is going on between them as he has in the past. He just hopes and prays that nothing has changed—that she still wants him. But, after years of protecting her from herself and her curiosity about the “naughty”, Carson struggles to see that “naughty” can be “nice” when love and maturity are present.
Naughty or Nice explores the story of two children who become adults united in friendship, proximity, and now, possibly love. The romance weaves a strong storyline with interesting characters and electrifying emotional connections. This novella focuses on the romantic developments of childhood friends who grow into a lifetime lovers and partners.

A cute, cheesy, fluffy Christmas romance story between two childhood best friends Felicity and Carson.
It was definitely a good short and quick read. Getting to see Felicity and Carson tell their story about their friendship which would eventually grow into love. I loved that there was flashbacks, so you could see how their friendship began and where and when each of them realised they fell for the other.
I will say I hated that Carson would give into temptation, only to then take it back hurting Felicity in the process. He knew how she felt and would indulge her (for himself) and then get scared by backing out. When he never should’ve in the first place, since he was against ruining their friendship.
As for Felicity I just wish she had been stronger and just pushed for it more. Instead of allowing Carson to walk away (in the past) without really giving her a proper answer. Though I will say I hated how she left him hanging after getting what she wanted. But then again she had her reasons, which were kind of reasonable.
Overall, it was a good story of watching a friendship blossom into love with a HEA. If you are looking for something light and fluffy for the holidays then this book by Alexis Winter will do you no wrong.
*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I loved reading this novel, it got me into the Christmas spirit and reminded me of the love in which this season brings.
Carson and Felicity's story is one of true friendship the type of friendship that never grows old, the one where you can trust the other with your life but its also one that has soo much love they don't want to ruin. the turmoil they both are in because of their feelings for each other and not knowing whether the other truly felt the same was wow. I could feel it in every word of this book.
Their journey to Loving each other starts from the very beginning they just don't know how to harvest it. They second guess their actions and feelings and that of the other but in the end, Love is Love and when you love someone as much as these two love each other there is no denying or walking away from that no matter what.
This was an incredible novel with all the Christmasy feels I love it and its just made me want a little more of them.
Thank you, Alexis, once again a fabulous job.

Naughty or Nice is a fantastic holiday romance and features Felicity and Carson. They first met when she was 7 years old and Carson aged 10 moved next door. Even though there is a 3 year age gap between them, they instantly bonded and became best friends. Felicity has been in love with Carson more or less since they first met and they have shared some kisses but that's all. Carson has always looked out for Felicity, never letting any guy get close to her. Felicity is back at home after graduating and Carson is coming back home for Christmas. Felicity decides now is the time to take it to the next level, she wants more than friendship. Unbeknown to Felicity, Carson feels the same way but doesn't trust himself not to hurt her and ruin their friendship.
I really enjoy Alexis Winter's books and this one was no exception. I love how this story is told. Its told from both Felicity and Carsons point of view. Its told in the present day but features flashbacks of important things that happened in the past. A real feel good read, watching their relationship grow

Cute friends to lovers rom-com with just the right amount of steam Told in dual POV, this was a swexy story about two kids who grow up to find they share a mutual attraction BUT the guy can’t bring himself to mess up their friendship to follow through whereas the girl is so ready… Felicity made a new friend when she was 7yo and her new neighbor, Carson was 10yo. After that they were almost inseparable. They went through lots in their relatively short lives but they kept coming back to each other for advice, consoling, or friendship. Felicity has just graduated from college and she’s tired of waiting for Carson to figure out that they belong together. The things she does to get his attention are on one hand funny and on another raunchy. You’ll see. Get this book to realize their final HEA which takes a lot of angst to get there! Oh, btw, her mother is so funny as well as smart in giving her advice in chapter 9. And then there’s her mother’s Christmas gift to her, which sparks the last reconciliation. I truly loved this book and give it 4.5 stars b/c of a very few editing issues. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book through Booksprout.
Beautiful love story. Oh my word I couldn't get enough of Felicity & Carson's story I loved it. After being friends since 7 & 10yrs old they were always close but as they got older those feelings changed Felicity knew she loved Carson but he didn't seem interested but kept being over protective when any guy went near her & a few times she told him she wanted him but said he didn't feel that way. I loved their friendship it was wonderful sometimes making me laugh but many times I just wanted to give him a slap & tell him to man up because he was playing with her feelings he didn't want her but he didn't want anybody else to. When they finally admitted they wanted each other & gave into the sexual tension between them I thought that's it happy ever after here we come but I was left disappointed when the tables were turned & it was her running away from him. I was hoping for a Christmas miracle but it didn't happen then they met at New Year's Eve things started looking up... Yipeee. This is a beautiful love story with plenty of bumos in the road

Felicity has been best friends with Carson since she was seven years old. Now a college graduate, she's back home for Christmas and knows exactly what she wants. But for all she knows, Carson still thinks of her as his best friend and little sister. But when she discovers he's currently single, Felicity makes her move.
At first, Carson is hesitant as Felicity is the one constant in his life, and would be lost if they didn't have each other. But one night leads to a second. And their parents finding out, who also happened to be next-door neighbors. But when Carson blurts out he loves her, Felicity thinks it is because she changed everything about herself to be with him.
Felicity and Carson get their happy ending in this standalone book in a series.
I loved all the flashback moments to see their friendship over the years and how their relationship evolved. And even if Carson was keeping Felicity more as a friend, his flashbacks showed how much he loved her all along. I do wonder if his mother ever got past her aversion to Felicity his her son or if it was more she thought it was just a fling and was only worried about Christmas.
Naughty or Nice is a sweet, steamy and adorable friends to lovers holiday novella by Alexis Winter. This little novella is the perfect feel good, easy holiday read. Felicity and Carson have some of the best and fun banter, some serious steamy times, while also pulling at your heart strings all in one perfect little package. Felicity met Carson when she was 7 years old. He was 10 and her new neighbor with a dysfunctional home life- and despite their age difference they became the best of friends. For years Felicity has been in love with Carson but her love and interest had always been unrequited, or so she thought. Carson knew he always had feelings for Felicity. He worked hard to keep all the other guys away from her but never felt that he was actually good enough to claim her the way he wanted- feeling like he had to protect her. Fast forward to Felicity coming home for the holiday after graduating from college and Carson coming home to see her. Lines are crossed, pasts are revisited and feelings are mixed- and we are left to find if these lifelong friends can find their HEA.
Felicity and Carson have been best friends since they were kids. His family moved in next-door when Felicity was 7 and even though Carson was 3 years older, they developed a bond. Growing up, he always looked out for her and protected her. No one was going to hurt her on his watch. Both are now adults and are returning home for Christmas. For him it's just a visit because Felicity has just graduated college and returning home till she finds a job.
Now here's the thing, Felicity has been in love with Carson since she was a kid. They've shared a few kisses, but Carson never let's it go beyond that. Their friendship means too much to him. Little does she know that Carson would love to take things further with her.
She believes that, now, as adults, there is a chance to take things to the next level. She plans on pulling out all the stops to tempt him. She's played nice all these years, maybe playing naughty will help...
Loved this book!! It was a really fun read!!! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Once again Alexis Winter has delivered a beautifully written romantic holiday story with a few light hearted moments. Felicity and Carson have been friends since they were little and Carson has always been the “overprotective older brother” but Felicity has been in love with Carson for years. Throughout the course of this book we discover that Carson is in love with Felicity but is too afraid to act on those feelings for fear of destroying their friendship. Thus Felicity sets off to change Carson’s mind by seducing him and when he finally gives in he cannot stop himself. Our couple faces a few obstacles but ultimately they are brought together and have their HEA. The flashbacks were great to help us understand the strength of their friendship throughout the years. This is a wonderful holiday story that I thoroughly enjoyed and did not want to put this book down. I have been a big fan of Ms Winter and I have loved reading each of her books and this was no exception. Highly recommend this book.
