This is a book that every Christian should read, regardless of where they are in their walk with Christ. While the majority of the content is focused on the spiritual warfare that will occur in the end times, Ron Rhodes presents basic Biblical truths that Christians would be wise to abide in on a daily basis. Rhodes offers a framework for the way in which Christians should approach each day living in Christ, through a collection of Biblical references regarding the realities of the spiritual realm. The sad truth is that Satan has devised countless ways to infiltrate our faith to make us move farther away from Christ, but as Rhodes explains, “the best way to keep the enemy out is to keep Christ in.” Read this book so that you may be shown or reminded how to put on the Armor of God, pray without ceasing, and live in Christ’s peace.

The spiritual warfare of Ephesians 6: 10-18 is so important: The belt of truth, the readiness of feet, the breastplate of righteousness, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. This is how Christians participate in spiritual warfare.

Some of the most important points in this book are: There is a spiritual war raging around us, there is an enemy force, and the biggest targets are those attempting to repent and lead others to repentance of their sins.

This is an interesting read from Ron Rhodes on the tactics of the enemy (Satan). It is definitely something that would help Christians grow in faith and learn about spiritual warfare.

Three books about spiritual warfare “coincidentally” crossed my reading path within a short period, thanks to book-release schedules, friend recommendations and library hold-request fulfillment. These are “Spiritual Warfare in the End Times” by Ron Rhodes, “Return of the Gods” by Jonathan Cahn, and “Daniel’s Final Week” by Donna VanLiere.

With a smile, I note the connections between these three authors and the characters in my own end times novel “Twilight of the Church Age,” who lead the effort to produce a resource to help those who will be left behind after the rapture. Pastors and authors and Messianic Rabbis, oh my!

I recommend all three books for your reading. These will help you better understand the enemies we face in this battle, how you may be attacked and how to resist them (key tactics- stay close to Jesus and be faithful in Bible reading and prayer). All three books cover all these subjects, with different levels of emphasis in different aspects. Here’s my summary of their levels of emphasis (1 highest, 3 least) with some close calls required :

I would recommend “Spiritual Warfare in the End Times” as the one to read first. It would be helpful when you read the other two books.

“Spiritual Warfare in the End Times” by Ron Rhodes (2020). Ron Rhodes is a well-known Christian author and speaker, covering a wide range of topics. I’ve read his books about Bible Prophecy, but the many other titles sound interesting. This book especially focuses on the present phase of this spiritual war and is loaded with scripture references and quotes from other authors and theologians. It goes on to describe how the warfare becomes more intense in the future. It’s both interesting and useful.

God will win the war. Jesus will completely vanquish these pagan “gods” and those who follow them. Unfortunately, most of the people living on earth in the future period choose the wrong side in the war (as do most in the present and past eras). They are burdened by sin, tempted by the world system, and tricked or coerced by these evil spirits to join the forces of Satan. I encourage you to read these books to understand this battle and so you will enlist on the winning side with Jesus as your Savior, King and Commander-in-Chief.

Great idea discussing spiritual warfare. I thought this was thorough. Good concepts to meditate on and even apply to your current life.

Few excerpts:

Satan loves to divert your attention to your failures before God, and may even make you feel like you’re not a real Christian, and that God is furious with you because of your sins. When that happens, remind yourself—and count on it as being true—that you have been “brought near” to God by the blood of Christ alone.

It is important for us to remember this whenever Satan accuses us in our consciences. His accusations can make us feel like worms before God if we let them. We must stand strong on the promises of God regarding our complete forgiveness in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:21; Ephesians 1:7; 2:8-9).

Spiritual War in the End Times by Ron Rhodes is my first book by this author. It is an interesting read and about the spiritual war around us today and how to prepare yourself. I felt it was written to be easily understood. I would recommend it to Christians interested in spiritual warfare and end time events.

A very solid introduction to the believer's lifestyle while engaged in spiritual warfare. Rhodes provides ample Scriptural support as he walks through key topics such as: the believer's role in Jesus, prayer, the armor of a disciples, etc.

If you are searching for a book that delves into such issues as spiritual gifts, deliverance ministry or various aspects of the spirit realm like territorial principalities then this is not the book for you. What you will find is a basic theology of the believer in Christ that is written from an Evangelical and pre-tribulation perspective.

The writing is highly accessible and addresses many common questions that believers have concerning overcoming temptation, what happens in the last days, etc.

The book starts off rather slow and has a long introduction. Once you start the book, you are given an accurate description of the battle for your thoughts and beliefs. I found the book to be very informative and a worthwhile read for any Christian with questions on the spirit battles around us.

A Deep Book

This is a deeply Christian based book dealing with a tough subject. The book is filled with Bible based strategies on how to understand and survive spiritual warfare. For the Christian, but new and seasoned who is fighting this war, I highly recommend this book. It is a support and comfort.

This was interesting, and certainly a topic that is not prevalent within Christian books, but it could have been better. I felt there was too much reliance on what other preachers, authors, commentators, etc. have said on the topic. Rhodes could have written a better book with more reliance on solely Scripture.

I had high hopes for this book and anticipated it having some new / novel ideas. Instead, it lacked unique perspective / expertise from the author’s point of view and was mostly just a list of scriptures, repeating the same thing in different ways. I also feel like the “end times” aspect was more of a bait in the title than integrated into the material in a significant way.
