Must read for those that dread holiday season.

For 10 years I dreaded the holiday season, until I read Noel. I read this book last year and it completely changed my thoughts and perception around the holidays. It helped me to realize what thoughts, fears, and emotions I attach to this time of year after my mother's passing in December so many years, ago. I didn't realize the pain wrapped around this month for me and the pressure I placed on myself to simply be alright. This book empowered me to feel and be who I am during the holidays. A must read if you feel like December is when all the bad stuff happens and you feel you can't breathe until the month is over. That used to be me.

This wisdom-packed book helped me move past the stress of the holidays. I love how Mae Wagner lays out practical, direct, and actionable steps. I highly recommend it.

And I already gave a meaningful gift that I really feel good about, that I know my sister-in-law will love. Win-win!

As a woman who has had to deconstruct my faith of origin, Mae's kind, direct advice has helped me in life in general as well as how to navigate holiday conversation.

There is No Perfect Gift

But this book comes close. This book isn't a checklist of cheats to fake our way to a better holiday experience. It is a thoughtful and gentle excavation of the source of our anxiety accompanied by actionable methods to navigate and (for many) resolve the pitfalls of the most wonderful time of the year.
