Making deals is my specialty. And tonight, my terms are…her.

I hate Christmas. For years, I’ve avoided the holiday entirely.

Until Kandy Kane enters my life—the same seductive mystery woman I danced with at a club last night. When she shows up at my company the next day as our Christmas party planner, she’s desperate for help with her little problem.

My hot elf in striped tights needs a last-minute Santa.

And I need her. In every way possible. And this time, she’s not going to run. Alone in my remote cabin for the weekend, she’s going to be mine in every way she knows and a few she doesn’t.

Except she’s hiding a secret. So am I.

She’s a virgin.

And I’m the bastard who is going to ruin her for any other man…unless she ruins me first.

There was only the pulse of his body inside mine, and his eyes. Those intense, shattered eyes that saw too much.
Demanded all.
And I gave all.
God help me, I gave up everything to him.

Be still my ovaries. I think this book overheated the poor things. They barely survived the potent sexual magnetism that was Lincoln Murdoch.

If you're judging this book by its cover and someone campy names, stop it! Because it doesn't do the book justice at all. It's so much more than a dirty duuuurty romance. Did I mention the dirty? But I digress again.

Kandy "Kay" Kane lives for Christmas. It's her favorite holiday and as a party planner, her busiest one too. But now she finds herself in a bit of a situation when her Santa is MIA and getting eloped to her elf. What's a girl to do? Dress in an elf costume and go scrambling for a santa, of course.

Lincoln Murdoch used to love Christmas, but those days are long gone. Now he can't escape the holiday and the cheer quickly enough. But when the beauty that he met dancing at a club and ran from him stumbles into his office dressed in a elf costume and in a desperate need of a Santa, he finds himself willing to make a deal. He'll play Santa just this time, in exchange for 2 days of her undivided attention at his cabin.

What begins is a whole lot of sizzle and chemistry. Oh man but it was delicious. SO DELICIOUS. Lincoln was a dirty dirty boy and Kay may be innocent but she's no blushing ingenue either. I loved the banter between them and I loved their chemistry even more. These two definitely burned up the pages together. But don't think it's all smut, because there's a fantastic story wrapped around it. THere's plenty of layers and character development to make the smuttiness the icing on the top.

Taryn Quinn know how to write them some dirty, but their dirty comes with feeling. It's a satisfying and delicious story of the sweet and innocent girl who met a broody and broken man and helped him realize he's not as broken as he thinks. Sounds cliche? Well, it may be...if someone else wrote it. But these two pulled it off flawlessly and I loved it!

In a word: SEX

I like to have some story/plot line served with my smut, and in that department, this book fell short. This is the current trendy formulaic "girl wants to get rid of 'v-card'" and "guy takes advantage of xyz situation to make a sex deal" contemporary romance novel. In this specific case, the "girl" is a party planner who lands a lucrative Christmas soiree contract, yet when she arrives to get it going, she realizes she's sans the Santa she hired. The "guy" is the jaded CEO of said company who happens to have a perfectly tailored Santa suit in his closet but refuses to wear it because of some unknown horrible situation that led to him hating Christmas and all things related therein. Obviously, the solution here is for him to agree to put on his hated Santa costume in exchange for a sex-filled weekend (including Christmas Eve & Christmas Day) at his remote cabin in the middle of nowhere upstate! And, as our leading lady would like to have her v-card stamped, she signs right up as she conveniently has no plans for Christmas and enjoys the thought of being off the grid where no one can possibly reach her with a total stranger for 3 days.

Sarcasm aside, there was very little character development in this story. We know that the male MC (Lincoln) used to love Christmas and that the reason he now despises it has something to do with a woman, but that's pretty much all. Our female MC (Kandy Kane, aka "Kay") is a 27 year old virgin because no guy has ever really "done it" for her before, and she is tired of sitting at the kiddie table. There are little tidbits of info about the MCs' families, but nothing that really ties anything together or even remotely contributes to the story. It felt like there was an earlier book that maybe should have been read beforehand? The author also inserts a random woman and her toddler and insinuates that they are somehow connected to Linc's former flame, but the loop is never closed on that, so it seems like that appearance was completely unnecessary to the story. I am using that as an example, but there are several instances of this throughout the story. Characters are "introduced" but we don't know much about them or why they are relevant ("Joe" is another example --- I still have no idea who this guy is/why he was even in the story). When the author finally got to the part where Linc reluctantly discusses his reasons for being Scrooge, there still isn't enough there to really understand what really happened for it to be as impactful as it was to the character and in the story. Beyond that, it was literally nothing but sex. If you have read any of my reviews, you know I am pro-smut (yep), but when there is no connection to the story and/or the characters, it falls flat. That's how I felt about this book. I never developed any attachment to the characters, and I felt like the central conflict that the author tried to push on the reader was weak, so the whole thing made the male MC seem immature and the female MC seem desperate. Given the little time they spent getting to know each other, the HEA was not realistic in the least. Don't get your panties in a wad - I get that it is fiction, but I can only suspend my belief so far in a contemporary non-paranormal romance.

Plot --- 1/5
Main Characters --- 2/5
Supporting Cast --- 2/5 (though most were completely irrelevant/added nothing to the story)
Steam Level --- 3/5
Violence --- None
Language --- not egregious
POV --- Dual

I know this may not be a big deal to everyone , But to me it is. Thank you for having Kandy a tall woman. I am tired of reading books with small and petite woman.
I would have given this book fives stars, For me what was lacking was a more in-depth back story with Kandy , She is who she is for a reason we only had a glimpse.

Filthy Scrooge by Taryn Quinn was such a pleasant, Christmas surprise!

I thought going in to this book I was going to find an erotic, plot-thin story ce terrd around Christmas. I was NOT expecting such depth and emotions to come from this romance.

I adored both Lincoln and Kandy. She's a 27 year old virgin (because of some past issues) who loves Christmas and Lincoln is the CEO who hired her as his party planner for his company...and he despises Christmas thanks to a past issue. When Lincoln steps up to save the Christmas party, he strikes a deal with Kandy to spend Christmas with him up at his cabin.

Y'all. This book was hot AF and full of so much chemistry. I was fanning myself lol But at the heart of the story was a man scorned and a naive woman who quickly falls for him. Their banter was both sweet and witty. Their interactions were steamy and uplifting. And the small bit of angst? Yup, my heart hurt, but that epilogue made it WORTH IT.

Seriously, I loved this story so much.

This one falls somewhere around 3.5 stars.

I couldn't help but wonder why the book was released in February rather than November or December. It really is a Christmas story through and through. I get that it probably wasn't ready by last Christmas, but had it been my book, I'd have just curbed my enthusiasm and waited for a more timely seasonal release closer to next Christmas. Just saying...

Maybe it was just me, but the first few pages just didn't flow well. I felt it was sort of choppy and as if the authors were feeling their way along until they got a better grasp of the story and the flow. Once the authors hit their stride though, the story had a quick pace, and the characters came to life a lot better.

Kay is likeable. Her virginity issues were still kind of hard to swallow despite her explanation. But that was the story, so... OK. Linc was a lot less likeable through much of the book. He held onto his antipathy for Christmas as hard as he possibly could. It didn't really endear him to me much, but that's probably because I had to grow up with a family member who had the same problem, and it got really, really old. So that is more on me than the story.

On the plus side, the characters had great chemistry, and the sexy shenanigans were lots of fun. When Linc opened up, he was charming and delightful. I was totally sucked in when they hit their inevitable rough patch, and I felt that was written really well.

So all in all, the book does what it was meant to do. It's a fun read for the most part.

I received a copy of the book and chose to review it.

Filthy Scrooge or Grinch with a heart!?

Now that's a damn fine Christmas read. Good storyline, brilliant characters, romance, sexy times all set in a winter wonderland! I floved these characters and did not want the story to end. I wanted to see more of these characters and their lives..that is a sign of a good story if you don't want the story to end and love the characters enough to want to read more about their lives! 3.75 Christmas stars. No more scrooge or mean grinch, Linc is Santa Clause once more!

For one of those days you're in *this* kind of holiday romance mood...

The book delivered exactly what I wanted: well-written, hot fun in a snowed-in cabin.

I wouldn't call it "filthy" - maybe "Hot Scrooge Meets Sexy Elf" doesn't have the same ring? I don't love the man-does-a-favor-in-exchange-for-sex thing, but the beginning was entertaining enough that I went with it.

Loved it! CEO Lincoln Murdock hates Christmas because the selfish woman he loved, chose that day to betray him. So now, a family day of love, laughter and happiness has become a day of booze-fueled isolation for Lincoln. But then Kandy Kane, his event planner for his company's Christmas party, approaches him with a huge problem. Her hired Santa has eloped with her elf and she can't afford to lose this contract with Lincoln's company. Nor does Kandy want to ruin HER COMPANY'S reputation by disappointing Lincoln's employees, their children and the other guests. Lincoln's first response to substitute as Santa, is absolutely not! Until Kandy desperately promises to do anything to save the party. Guess what Lincoln wants!!!

Filthy Festive Feast

Kandy Kane a a party planner, but when her Santa lets her down for the last and biggest thing party of the season, she turns to the man who hired her, Lincoln Murdoch, for help. He agrees but has stipulations.
Starting a couple of days before Christmas, and ending just before the new year, this is not an obviously Christmassy story since Linc has a problems with the holiday, but it has all of the necessary constituents, and a wonderful, sexy romance as well.
Great stuff.

Short but 'sweet'

Good, nearly Insta- love story.
Linc is anti-Christmas thanks to a horrible ex. Kandy's entire life is Christmas. The deal they strike is a little skeevy but everything changes so quick it doesn't spoil the story.

Steamy Christmas!

Her name is a bit over the top but this quick and dirty Christmas story makes it bearable. I wanted to throttle Linc through much of the story. His great lover/big jerk swings could give a girl whiplash. An ending worth getting to.

oh my God! This is now one of my all time favorite holiday reads, even though it does not need to be read at the holidays for it to be hotter than chestnuts roasting on an open fire. And pop open they did! Taryn Quinn never disappoints me in story line or level of heat. These two characters challenge each other in such a short time frame but still find time to fall head over heels.
Lincoln and Kandy are awesome together. Kandy is stuck in a situation that only Lincoln can get her out of and he does so but with a minor deal. She has to go with him to his cabin over Christmas. Sounds simple, but is anything but. His reaction to her dilemma of the party and her personal problem is awesome.
Lincoln, of course, is reluctant to help because of his whole hatred of Christmas. There is good reason that you find out in the book. But he puts himself on the line anyway to help out his own employees and Kandy.
I loved Kandy's Spink and Lincoln's Scroogeness. They make for a great couple where she keeps him on his toes and he keeps her panties in a bunch.
Thank you Taryn Quinn. Your characters continue to make me turn pages at an alarming rate.

Alright judgy mc-judgy...I know, it's not the sort of book I generally read/review, but hear me out. I clicked on this freebie download because I couldn't believe the title...I mean, A Christmas Carol is one of my FAVORITE books so how could one possibly turn it into "something else"? Then there's the cover...*ahem*...let's just say it was a tiny little thumbnail pic on my phone, but um, yeah, was rather "surprising" when viewed full size. Moving forward...it wasn't either of these things that really made me want to read it though, it was partially the description, but also the reviews. That's right, the reviews. I usually avoid reading multiple reviews of a book I'm considering, so again, it wasn't on MY list at first glance, but although people kept mentioning how "hot" it was, they also made note that the STORY behind the jingle-jangling was not to be missed. Well, now that I've read it, I have to say I strongly....AGREE!

I'm not going to sugar coat it, it's NOT for anyone less than a mature ADULT audience because yeah, there's a lot of "that", but Kandy and Linc are definitely characters I won't be forgetting anytime soon, and not simply for their ability to get down in a hurry. Kandy is an independent woman who runs her own business and really wants to succeed, but for herself and her staff. She puts her whole heart and soul into the business and when something goes off course, she takes a personal interest in correcting the situation. In this case, a missing Santa, his helper, and nary a jolly-old-saint-anything in sight...at least without the right motivation. Lincoln (aka Linc) is a successful businessman who puts up with the monkey suit when necessary, but prefers jeans and a button down. He's got the look, he's made the money, and though he truly gets grinchy this time of year, deep down he really cares....just don't tell him that or you may get the wrong end of the peppermint stick. He's got a past that's weighing him down, and no inclination to crack the shell he's created for himself...too bad he's set his own trap that's about to shake more than the balls on the tree, but oh what a beautiful sight they'll make if they can get through this holiday!

All in all, I was totally surprised by how much I enjoyed the STORY...but um yeah, just not one for sharing around the Christmas tree with the family. *wink wink*

ermmm what did I just read? I expected to be a warm fluffy read of sorts but what was this??? The MMC certainly needs to get real help or something because with the way his mind is wired? I think its safe for him to stay single. FOR LIFE LOL. Someone chain this man in his 'comfy cabin' so he never gets out and mistreat women and fuck up their lives too.

Idk how a woman can ever write things like this because between the lines there clearly wasn;t any respect for women as a separate independent individual but rather a crime if a woman was still a virgin when she is still 27?? Why does she think that she is the problem when her boyfriends are leaving her one by one just because they weren't fucking?? Like since when did that entail in a relationship and even so, why was it her fault alone? Idk that part weirded me out alot because it was never her fault to begin with.

For the MMC, he wasn't even 'possessive'. He wanted a girl that had a character that stood out from everyone else. duh. of course. but when she acted like that when they were together, suddenly he wasn't ok with it? and he only ever does things his way without ever consulting her opinion or if she was onboard with it, he only ever assumed that 'she would want this too' wtf?? and when he felt that she was poking in too much? Pushed her away and degraded her even when he liked it so much when they were doing it? hypocrite much?

The MMC never redeemed himself and the plot falls very flat for this one. One trip down to a small town and suddenly the MMC isn't a grinch anymore and has fallen head over heels for her AND Christmas. Yea, I get it, its a novella and all but isn't this going without solid developments? I have read novellas less than a 100 pages long and have better plot developments compared to this one. Says alot doesn't it? Suddenly the best friend got together with the MMC's brother and suddenly he is grovelling and suddenly they are married and she's pregnant? I usually enjoy these type of epilogues but this time? Why haven't you started running girl?

This was not your normal Christmas tale, it was better

Kandy was a strong, independent business owner. She wasn't a push over but she had just one tiny problem. She was still a virgin at 27. Because of that she was very anxious about sex. Nancy did want that look guys gave her when they found out. You know the one like what is wrong with this chick. Her best friend and assistant Mel gets her to go out and unwind at a club. Kandy loves getting lost in the music even if she has to dance by herself. But soon she has a sexy blue eyed devil moving with her to the beat. Thinks get a little hot and Kandy runs away. No names, no phones numbers nothing. But who could forget his sexy blue eyes. Finally its Kandy's last event of the year. Everything was a done and perfect until it wasn't. Her Santa and elf are a no show. This is her biggest event all year. Where can she find a Santa at the last min. She can play elf but what about Santa. As she looks for the party giver Mr Mandock to see if he can help find a Santa. Who does she find but Mr sexy blue eyes from the previous night. A deal is struck for 3 days at a remote cabin with mister blue eyes. Who happens to be Lincoln Mandock CEO of one of the biggest retailers in the world. Kandy knows this is a bad idea but she can't lose this money. The chemistry between the two of them is of the chart plus she could finally get rid of her V card. The only problem is why does Lincoln hate Christmas so much? Why wouldn't he just play Santa to make the kids happy at the last? Better yet if he hates Christmas so much why does he have a custom made Santa suit in his closet? Can Kandy change his mind about Christmas or will she end up with a broken heart too?

Lincoln Murdock & Kandy Kane

Dual POV. Standalone. I really enjoy Cari Quinn & Taryn Elliott stories, but there's just something even more magical about their collaboration. Trigger warnings: cheating ex gets pregnant w/another man's child & both main characters' fathers have passed away.

Kandy is hired by Murdock Home Stores as their annual Christmas party planner. Everything is going to plan so the night before the event Kandy and her best friend go out to dance away the holiday stress. Kandy is enjoying dancing on her own when the song changes and she decides to go, but a hand pulls her back into the crowd to dance for 2 more songs. No words are spoken but as the heat rises Kandy gets overwhelmed and leaves. The next day the Murdock Christmas party starts to unravel when she finds out her hired Santa & elf have eloped. Part of the 3 requirements to fulfill the party contract was a Santa for the company's employees' children, without meeting all 3 requirements she won't get paid, meaning her employees don't get paid. Kandy is desperate to find a replacement so she strikes a deal with Lincoln. Lincoln wanted Kandy from the moment he saw her dancing in the club the night before and now he'll have her. Lincoln used to love Christmas until 3 years ago when his heart was destroyed in front of 500 of his closest friends. Lincoln agrees to help Kandy for 1 hour in exchange for 2 days with her, what could go wrong? They both have withheld information and as their time together draws them closer they both want more but as with most relationships miscommunications & misunderstandings force them apart. Thankfully Lincoln gets it together in time to prove he's not a Scrooge anymore.

Thank you ladies for this quick read and a wonderful epilogue. JP

First off, such a provocative image of a naked man on the cover. I mean, WOW!

Story starts off with Kay dirty dancing with Hot Mystery Guy. Then we find out that she owns and runs a party-planning company and her Santa for the big XMAS party just dropped out. Her client is the Scrooge and has no qualms of denying her payment if she doesn’t supply a Santa for his party…however, he does have a Santa suit, one he’d swore he’d never wear again. Still, he might be persuaded if she made the right tempting offer (btw, he was the Hot Mystery Guy on the dance floor.)

These were his terms: She must spend time with him in his cabin for two days. Deal! Of course, Scrooge intends to de-Christmas her in every way.

Kay is unsure about this. I mean, she hardly knows him. How could she have sold her virginity to this curmudgeon?

Story had lagging segments here and there. I was curious to find out why he hated Christmas so much. What was the even that shattered his jolly spirit? Of course, with Christmas being her favorite holiday, Kay aimed to put the HO-HO back in his stocking. And she’ll entice him in every way.

An okay holiday romp with the seasonal message of love and hope.

Christmas is my favorite time of year, and this book has gone straight to the top of the good list! Maybe it should be on the naughty list ...but I enjoyed it so much that I am sure Santa wants me to listen to this every Christmas. This is my first listen by Taryn Quinn, and the combination of the holiday theme with the budding relationship between Kandi(Kay) and Linc had me hooked from the start. My favorite kind of hero, Linc hates the holiday season, but will Kay be able to change this Scroogey, alpha male's mind? And Kay comes with a secret of her own, will Linc understand hers? So much chemistry and fun with this couple, we get to see how they challenge each other and enjoy their time. But will it be strong enough to continue past the holidays? I will definitely be looking for more from Taryn Quinn, fast becoming a one-click for me!

With Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross narrating this holiday book is a like a present in itself. Their performances always give you that warm feeling and make you want more. Looking forward to more from this author/narration team!

Linc hates Christmas. He does everything he can to avoid it. But that hot little number he danced with at a club, shows up as his party planner and he must have her. She needs a favor and Linc needs here. He devises a plan to help her and save the party and land her right where he wants her. What is there not to love about a conniving, swoon worthy scrooge. All girls want to "fix" him. I was so jealous of Kandy as she tries hard to avoid Linc. I wish this book was longer, I never wanted it to end. I loved everything about Kandy and Linc. His past just added depth to his character. Her secret kept things interesting. This is a must read.

Wen Ross gets me everytime he chuckles. One chuckle and that character has me swooning. Linc is everything a girl could want and Wen brings him to life. Kai nasrrates Kandy exactly as I imagined her. Through out all of her struggles and nervousness, Kai keeps Kandy real and easy to relate to. I love this narrating team and always look for their books.

5 Christmas-y Love Struck Stars.

So, honestly, I wasn't quite sure what I was getting myself into when I downloaded this book.

The concept interested me, especially because we are at the beginning of December, so why not kick it off with some steamy holiday nonsense. What I was not expecting was to be really invested in the mind of Linc Murduck. Especially in the very first chapter, I really wasn't sure what I was throwing my thoughts into. But, then, I just couldn't put my Kindle down.

There is a nice balance of fluff, holiday cheer, and angst. I still really want to know why Kandy Kane's actual name was that. Like I know parents come up with some crazy names for their kids these days, but Kandy sounds like something a stripper would use. And she was the farthest thing from a stripper.

Anyway, this book was a perfect balance of a lot of things. And the love stuff just comes naturally, nothing felt forced or pushed too hard. It was perfect. I'm so happy, I sat down and read this beautiful book.

PS. It's free on Amazon for Kindle until farther notice. ;)

A great Christmas story doesn't have to read just at Christmas time. Filthy Scrooge is one of those stories that can be read at any time of the year. Lincoln Murdock hates Christmas; he used to love that time of the year but not for years now. Kandy Noel Kane, yes that's her real name, loves Christmas so much she based her party planning company around the season providing everything from nuts to Santa, so of the best and most in demand Santas in New York City. Everything has gone as planned for the one party that will make or break her company, her most in demand Santa will be the highlight of party. She is dressed as an elf whilst meeting with Lincoln and his brother Parker when she is told by her assistant, Mel, that Jason—her most in demand Santa—has eloped to Las Vegas and no one else is available. Her world is going to implode. She'll do anything for someone, anyone, to play Santa. Then the Devil himself makes her an offer.

I am very surprised and disappointed in myself. How comes I have never read a Taryn Quin book before? Ai, how is that possible?

I started this book last night on my way to work...read it through the night shift...just completed it right before I fall asleep.

I absolutely love this story...and all its tropes...my favourite being the Winter-Wonderland-Trapped-In-A-Cabin-bonning.

There is smut galore between Kandy aka Kay and Linc. In terms of names, Linc wins it...Kandy's name was so much over the top trope town illogical but I loved her nickname.

I loved that they each had to teach the other how to essentially open up to another person and redeeming love.

I felt, the only part that perhaps needed improvement, was after Linc fucked up...he should have been made to grovel more for Kay's forgiveness...the grovelling was not sufficient.

Now I'm interested in Joes's story. Does he have a book too? I'll definitely be reading more Taryn Quin books. Loved it.
