Who would want to harm a Mafia boss’s wife? A lot of people… but who would dare? When Matteo married her, he thought all of Marie’s suffering would be over. He thought that would protect her. He thought he could protect her.
But he was wrong. Maybe someone hates her that much, they want her dead? Or maybe someone’s trying to kill her to get to him? Either way, he’s going to get to the bottom of it. He’ll make sure she’s safe if it’s the last thing he’ll do. He won’t let history repeat itself.
Besides her love of chocolate, dogs and music… reading and writing is Summer’s number one route to escape from crazy friends, family and the in-laws!
She found her own happily ever after with a martial arts fighter who also happens to be an adorable IT geek! Now, she loves to write about hot alpha males that come with a pretty face and covered in tough-as-nails muscle... who are secretly looking for their true soul mate (shhh…)!

This is the third book and final book in the Mafia's Obsession Series. Matteo and Marie's story continues and will take you on an emotional roller coaster. If you like mafia romances you'll love this story. Be warned as usual with mafia stories there's strong language and some adult situations. Lots of fast action and some danger to keep your interest. This book's a page turner that's hard to put down. Lots of danger with Marie, Can Matteo continue to protect her? A great read with interesting characters and an engaging story line. I read an arc and voluntarily chose to review.
I’ve read all three books and I still can’t tell why Matteo is so enamored with Marie. She is boring, just so boring. Also, like 80% of this book was filler, the entire time they are in Montana. All those details weren’t needed and at some points it felt very repetitive like when Marie describes how shy Anton is around her- that happens like 3 or 4 times. I found myself wanting to just skim over multiple chapters because NOTHING WAS HAPPENING!
Regarding the second book, it was nothing but filler again! The most significant events were the dinner scene and Marie getting shot. It wasn’t as bad as the third book and we actually get to see Marie grow some balls and stand up to Celeste.
The first book I gave 4 stars because I actually liked the dynamic between Marie and her mother, Ruby. I like how the author describes the prison Ruby is in with her Parkinson’s disease and how she forces Marie into that prison too by guilt tripping Marie into taking care of her. I took off one star because I didn’t like how Matteo was introduced in the book. You genuinely ask yourself “Why the hell is he interested in her?” I think it would have been better if the author had somehow hinted at Matteo’s ulterior motives before Matteo and Marie were I introduced to each other, then there would be a definite tone for Matteo’s unusual interest in Marie.
Overall, I give this series 2 and half stars- and that’s being generous considering the quality gets progressively worse with each book.
God, this is the longest review I have ever written, that’s how bad I think this book, hell this series is.
I waited until I had read all three books to write a review... It was a okay read, but nothing I would recommend.
I came across repetitive in some sentences, where the character Marie was thinking about her (hard) life and ill (and abusive) mother, repeating the same musings just saying it in different ways.
Some sentences was unnecessary as it seemed like the author was filling a word count (to me).
Matteo's character turned out to be a "apprentice" mafia boss in training and done NO "mafia-ing" what so ever! He just did the bidding of the real boss while putting on a indifferent front.
Marie has discover sex and now she is another female character who can across as seemingly unable to think or function properly until she has sex again... Please 🙄...
What made me rise a eyebrow in question was Marie is heir to the Mafia throne and she thinks with her sheltered, high school and naive / innocent view of the world and of people SHE could maybe take over the "family business!" I laughed right there... And Matteo indulges her idea! Come on!!!
Readable but also a passable book. Don't be fooled by the book title or the cover photo. A low 3* in my opinion.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This is the 3rd book in the series and it can be read as a stand-alone. Matteo is trying to discover who put the hit out on Marie. Will he discover the truth and be able to keep her safe? Fast-paced read with loads of drama, suspense and steam. Great characters with lots of depth and emotion. I liked it.
The story of Marie and Matteo continues. It starts with her finally being at home after being shot. Matteo is beside himself because he and Anton have not been able to find out who put the hit on Marie. Matteo being so concerned will not allow Marie to leave the penthouse and has guards in the hallway to ensure Marie’s safety. Marie is getting so crazy because she is unable to leave the house. Marie is starting to have tremors on her side and it is making her a basket case cause she is afraid she has Parkinson’s like her mother did. Matteo and Anton finally come up with an idea that might give Marie some freedom. They pack up and tell no one where they are going and they take a private jet to a place in Montana that they will be staying at. While there Anton goes to town and buys food and supplies using his credit card. It’s great for Marie because now she’s able to go to town with them and to take walks outside. They start to see a shadow outside and after a couple of days the house catches on fire and they have to evacuate and are shot at. Matteo just keeps driving until he gets to a small town in Canada for safety and they stop there for a couple days. Marie forgets and tells Matteo about his aunt visiting that one day when he was not home and about how she was threatened by his aunt. Matteo immediately calls his man Petey to go to Italy and see if he can find any proof his aunt put the hit on Marie. Petey finds the proof and calls Matteo who calls his aunt and makes her an offer she can’t refuse. They go to Mexico for a week as a vacation and then back to New York for Marie to find out she has Parkinson’s. They find a surrogate woman to carry their babies and Matteo and Marie have a baby boy and a baby girl. What a great story to read if you read all three books of this series.
The car accident that left Marie in the hospital and fighting for her life, looks suspiciously like a mob hit, but who would order such an evil act? The possibilities are numerous and Matteo, Maria and Anton, Matteo's right hand man, need to make their escape to Montana to keep Maria safe. She's never had to endure cold weather before, and this is definitely out of her comfort zone. Other than making snow angels and having a rip-roarin' snowball fight, their life is all about tracking down the person who put the hit on Maria. She is starting to experience some exhaustion, tremors and fear of what might be. Her mother died from Parkinson's, after all, and Marie is fully aware of all of its symptoms. She doesn't want to let Matteo know, but he can see the anxiety in her face. One night, their cover is blown, as an assassin is seen on security camera, just as their cabin bursts into flames. Both Matteo and Anton recognize the woman and it becomes clear just who wants Marie dead and, no matter what, Matteo will see her pay. As they make their escape to southern climes, Marie's tremors become more apparent. It's time for her to see the doctor to discover if she has what she fears. The whole story is filled with the beautiful relationship that Matteo and Marie have developed and, yet, neither one can bring themself to say "I love you." Individually, they ruminate over their inability to say it and why, when it's so apparent that they love each other deeply. It's a truly lovely story, but I'm not crazy about the ending. Too much pain, too much sorrow and, even with the happy occasion of children, it felt bittersweet. Overall, a wonderful trilogy by Summer Cooper!
Mafia's Final Play is the third and final book of the Mafia's Obsession series. Mafia's Final Play is the continuation of Marie and Matteo's journey and will most definitely take you on an emotional rollercoaster. If you love reading mafia romances, then you should definitely check out Mafia's Obsession. The love between Marie and Matteo continues in Mafia's Final Play. More trouble is brewing as Matteo needs to find out who ordered a contract hit on Marie and to stop that person(s) before she is killed. On the run and in hiding, Anton, their trusted bodyguard accompanies them and secures a remote cabin in the countryside. The dram increases as they are found and the race to escape is more urgent. Marie's health issues cannot be ignored as symptoms arise and are frightening.
Their story leaves you on the edge of your seat, a page-turner, wondering who ordered the hit as Matteo has a number of enemies who would love to destroy him. Matteo, Marie and Anton are amazing characters. Marie has the knack to bring out the best from Matteo and the shy bodyguard Anton. This series has an amazing Mafia storyline but heavier on the love and romance side of Matteo than the Mafia dealings. Mafia's Obsession is a must-read series, which I would HIGHLY encourage readers to give this series a read. I'm looking forward to seeing what Summer Cooper will come out with next.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Marie and Matteo's journey is not over yet, and if you have been following along, as I have, then this release is certainly the one you've been waiting for.
The Mafia's Obsession Series is Ms. Cooper's latest creation and I can assure you that it is as riveting as one would come to expect from her. I am one of those reader's that try immensely hard never to give away the plot, and ruin it for other reader's. That being said, if you're interested in devouring a Series that will keep you addicted and flipping through the pages until the wee hours of the morning, this is it. Inside each of the Obsession releases, you experience a wonderful and wide range of emotions, complete with dramatic & intriguing scenes, as well as steamy/sexy chemistry between two well thought out characters that will leave you in awe (each time).
I was beyond fortunate to have requested an advanced reader's copy of Mafia's Final Play in exchange for my honest and voluntarily given opinion.
I promise you that I will follow and read Ms. Cooper's work/publications for as long as she gifts them to us. My Lord, this woman is unbelievably talented.
The love between Matteo & Marie continues in this novel. More trouble is brewing as he needs to find out who ordered a contract hit on Marie & to stop that person(s) before Marie is killed. On the run & in hiding, Anton, their trusted bodyguard accompanies them & secures a remote cabin in the countryside. The drama increases as they are found & the race to escape is more urgent. Marie's health issues cannot be ignored as symptoms arise & are frightening.

This series has a great Mafia story-line but heavier on the love & romance side of Matteo than the Mafia dealings. This is a must-read series.
I volunteered to read this ARC & leave an honest review.
Matteo and Marie seemed they were doomed from the start, but somehow they were able to make it through. But just when they think it’s looking better, things get really complicated.
In his quest to keep Marie safe, Matteo moves her out of NY. Things are great until they are not. Marie’s health is causing her great anxiety. Matteo is worried who is after them, but trying not to show it.
An invisible enemy, law enforcement down their back and questions still unanswered about the attack on Marie’s life give this book a suspenseful edge that keeps you guessing until the very end.
The heat between Marie and Matteo is still there, but this one was all about solving the mystery for me. I really enjoyed the suspense factor of this story. I did think it was a bit drawn out and could have been wrapped up sooner. However, overall it was a good conclusion to Marie and Matteo’s story. It has some twist and turns that were unexpected.
Anton was great! Any chance we will get his story?
Final Play is the third and end of a great love story between Matteo and Marie. The pair were reared in dissimilar situations in that Marie was so very poor often going hungry and poorly clothed in Louisiana, whereas Matteo in NYC went to private schools and an Ivy League College, but both suffered loveless and hateful single parenting. What they have in common is their mob family, Maria the bastard only child of the past head honcho and Matteo reared by his aunt, the man's widow, to take over as leader. When Matteo marries Maria to protect her from his aunt, they both expect a loveless marriage peppered by a short time of lust. However, the thrilling plot tells of two people, highly intelligent, brave and faithful, and willing to demonstrate love with money, words, and action for more than a year after marriage, yet unable to say 'I love you' to each other. Really sad, but a satisfying HEA! Recommended.
Amazing ending. Wow! I knew this last book was going to be special but I didn't know how much. Although Marie & Matteo had never said those three words to each other his determination to keep her safe proved it even more each day. Their journey to freedom saw the bond with Anton get stronger & he became more than just an employee more like family & he was as concerned about Marie as much as Matteo was. There was danger, trauma, betrayal but also a bit of fun banter between the three of them whilst in Montana. Marie tried to be brave about what was happening but was hiding her symptoms from Matteo not wanting him to worry & at times I did have tears falling. Marie & Matteo both deserved to be part of a happy family determined not to let their own past's ruin their future. Definitely recommend this series but just a warning to have the tissues on hand.

This is the third and final story of the series and the other two should be read in order to understand what's going on. Having read all three books I think all three could have been made into just one book. Similar to the other books this had some repetitive parts and even parts that just dragged along. I would have expected more action from a "mafia" book, there was some, but just not enough for my liking. When they went to Montana there was a whole lot of nothing and if this would have been a movie I would have fast forwarded. I didn't feel a connection to the charcter so it was difficult for me to want to keep reading. There didn't see to be a real happily ever after for them, yeah they are together, but . . . If you are looking for a story with the main characters building their relationship, relationship drama and a little action this might be a good book for you.

Sadly this is the third & final book of the absolutely riveting “Mafia Obsessions” series. The intriguing storyline flowed smoothly throughout a suspenseful, well-written plot that has well-described situations & events. The main characters (Matteo Mazza) & his wife (Marie Hebert) have quite complex personalities with realistic flaws & it was interesting to see how the relationship continued to develop between them after a rather rocky start. There is: mafia, family issues, friendship, adventure, action, twists & turns, action, drama, suspense, mystery, danger, threats, enemies, life-threatening events, suspicions, complications, emotional turmoil, compromises, happiness, love, contentment, steamy scenes & a hard-earned happy conclusion. I really enjoyed reading this series & definitely would recommend it.
This is the third and final book in this series and I loved it so much I will find it very hard to say goodbye to Marie and Mateo. Even though they are brought together by unusual circumstances they were both attracted to one another and though their "marriage" was one of convenience they both had strong feelings for each other and somehow made it work despite the fact that Mateo's controlling aunt was trying to destroy Marie. This series is filled with lots of action, drama, suspense, love, passion, emotional and fun moments that had me falling in love with our hero and heroine and also Anton, who is Mateo's most trusted employee. I hope to be able to read a book about Anton in the future. His story would be so interesting. Congratulations to Summer Cooper for delivering a great book and series.

I had to finish this series to see how Summer Cooper pulled it all together. Yes, the series had its faults. Was it as good as her others? No. Have I read worse? Of course. I loved how she tied this all up. Yes, the story could have been shorter. I loved the interactions with Matteo’s trusted men. I loved what he went through to protect her. I loved Trina given Matteo what for about Marie. Marie! Way to stand up to your Dad’s wife!!! Will Matteo find out who put the hit out on Marie before it’s too late? Will Marie suffer the same fate as Ruby? Will time run out for Matteo and Marie to get their HEA? I loved the ending!!! Will we get the lowdown on Anton in the future? Will Marie get him together with Trina?.

This book is awesome! The saga continues as someone is after Marie. Matteo does everything he can to keep her safe while trying to find the culprit. A trip to the middle of nowhere opens up a whole new chapter for Marie and Matteo and I love how they get closer and get to spend time together doing simple things. Anton is an added bonus to the story and I love how he warms up to Marie as time goes by. But just when they are ready to head home, trouble strikes again and while Matteo already suspected who was behind it, the one actually carrying it out will shock him. But once again, he will do what is necessary to keep Marie safe and it will allow them to head off into the future free from the danger that hunted them.

This is book 3 in the Mafia’s Obsession series and it is the conclusion to Matteo’s and Marie’s story. These two really struggle with sharing their feelings with each other. Matteo has always done so much for her. Until she met him and even after that, she’s always lived with a dark cloud over her head. I think the story would have been better for me if that cloud wasn’t hanging over her head for the REST OF HER LIFE! I mean, come on! Hasn’t she suffered enough? Read this entertaining story to find out what Marie’s dark cloud is all about.
The action is great but the climax of the story should have been the end. I’m a little disappointed at the sad HEA. I thought Marie deserved better!
MMC/FMC- Matteo and Marie POV- 3rd person Genre- Mafia Romance Heat level- Yea, verily, the things shall be done and the parts shall be named Series? Y Safety: No Cheating, No S. Violence, No Cliffhanger HEA/HFN? HFN Triggers- Language, Violence, Explicit Erotic Content, Health Issues Tropes- Mystery Illness, It’s Not In My Contract, Love On The Run, Do-Si-Do With The Mafioso, Dysfunctional Family FTW, In-Laws From Hello, Bittersweet, Evil Stepmonster What I Liked- The love is strong with this pair. And Marie makes some great friends. Plus, hot zexytime. What I didn’t- too bittersweet for my tastes. Verdict- realistic in that not everything ends in a neat bow.

4.5 Stars! Poor Marie and Matteo can’t seem to catch a break. Matteo’s trying to keep her safe but he needs to find out who ordered the contract on Marie. This book had a bit less excitement than I was expecting but it was still a great book. This book, while dealing with discovering who put the contract on Marie, also deals with her health. That definitely added a lot of realism to the story. Once the action/drama began to unfold I couldn’t stop reading! I have to say that I found Anton completely adorable with how he was around Marie! I would definitely read a story about him! I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Finally, the exciting and much awaited ending to Matteo and Maria's love story. I was kept guessing as to whether they would ever get their HEA but we finally find out who put the hit out on Maria...yea, you are going to have to read the book for that answer. This "Mafia" love story was unlike any I have read so far and I have read quite allot of Mafia love stories. This was a breath of fresh air and I hope Ms. Cooper has more of this type of story to write in the future. I will be first in line to purchase one!
I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest and totally voluntary review.
This is the final chapter of Matteo and Mary's story and i am voluntarily reviewing their story. The drama and suspense continues as Matteo tries desperately to find who has put out a contract on Mary's life. IN order to protect her, he and Anton take her to a remote cabin in the woods, but her health is failing fast and he is no closer to finding the missing piece to this puzzle. Their final journey is riveting, nail biting, keep on the edge of your seat exciting. I loved this series and it is a must read if you love mafia stories. I can't wait to see what's in store next for us from Summer Cooper
The first in this story was hit or miss at reading, especially since the title did not match the way of it as it was purely from Marie’s side of things and mafia was not actually used in a way that one was actually. The second book had a better flow, and this third one was great to bring it all together. To be honest, I feel like the three together would’ve done well as one larger book, especially as the first alone is odd. I hope that it will be possible to purchase all three as a bundle in the future so you can keep reading the same at once.

Matteo will protect his wife at any cost. After almost losing her, he hides her until the threat is over. Marie’s life has not returned to “normal”. The recovery after her accident has been challenging and now she has been whisked away again to a place where she knows no one.
Summer keeps us hooked with the final installment of the series. She writes about relationship, trust, health, work and family issues. They are worked out by the characters and we see how they deal with them. An entertaining story that capture your attention until the end.
So I'm giving my review for the all three books. This series was absolutely amazing. I read all three books in three days that's how good it was. Matteo and Marie's story from start to end was awesome. They both grew up with parents that did not show them any love. One rich and one poor. What wss supposed to be a means to and end was put to a stop when Matteo fell for Marie. He went against his Aunt's revenge for Marie and kept her safe. This series will not disappoint.
This is the third and last book of the Mafia's Obsession series. If you haven't read the first two books you need to prior to reading this book. The third book starts where book two ends. There is lots going on in the story, mystery, intrigue and questions that need to be answered so Marie will be safe. Matteo will do just about anything to figure it out and give Marie the life she deserves. I enjoyed this series. There are good primary and secondary characters and the story moves at a good pace.
I voluntarily wrote this review from reading an advanced copy of this book from Booksprout.
I thought as this was book 3, it was going to get more exciting, like more drama, Marie finally fighting back more. I don't know anything. I was disappointed that Marie carried on doing as Matteo said, I thought all those years living with her mum she would have changed and would finally decide what to do for herself. I thought this book was long winded we all knew who would be after Marie as it was too obvious. Sorry Summer normally i love your books. Disappointing.

OMG! Wow, I absolutely loved reading this book it was fantastic, the story was written well and the characters were really captivating. This was 3rd and final book. Matteo married Marie to keep her safe. Well his aunty still hated her, she keeps telling Matteo to divorce Marie. Marie was driving to a coffee shop to meet up with his cousin, until she was ambushed.

2 people in love with each other but cannot say the words – one sees it as a weakness and the other has been told men don’t really love a woman, they are only good for one thing! But they always say actions speak louder than words. And when Matteo is willing to leave everything behind to protect Marie from another assassination attempt – what more needs to be said?
Secrets are revealed, the truth comes out and the one behind the contract on Marie’s life is revealed.
