Being with the only man she'd ever loved would have been a forbidden romance. After Freya's father passed, she decided to pack up and leave everything behind, but that meant leaving Elijah, too. Not only was he older but their lives were entwined, so regardless of her desire, the possibility of them being together seemed next to impossible. But love had a funny way of making a person disregard what was right or what was deemed wrong. The heart wanted what it wanted. And she'd only ever wanted Elijah. Now four years later, Freya was back in her hometown, and that longing and ache in her heart remained. But everything was different in the best kind of way, and the forbidden aspect of her love didn't seem so wrong anymore. As passion ignited, truths were revealed, and love was tested. Freya knew she could either follow her heart or let it break a second time. Reader note: This book was published previously under the same title. It has been recovered, re-edited, and has undergone minor tweaks. The story itself is the same. This is a forbidden romance, and there may be a subject matter that may be sensitive to some readers.
This is the first time I have read a taboo type story and this type of storyline. In all honesty i’m not sure how I feel about it. My major hang up was the constant talking about the stepmother/ex-wife. It felt repetitive and as a reader I got the story without having to be reminded of the plot. I didn’t think it added value to the story and it took away from their relationship.
With that being said taking the whole taboo subject away from the story. I can say that this was a well written love story. The sex was hot but the characters felt a little disconnected and rushed at times. I will say that I am still on the fence when it comes to taboo stories but will keep an open mind for future stories.
To me, I didn't like it. The sex scenes were basic, kind of things I see in either all romance/eroticas or all Jenika snow books. I don't think Maurice's character was even needed at all. Like, use him for a jealousy thing or something! Or the friend at the start, she was basically just a drive home. I don't know, nothing was really necessary half the time and I spent a lot of time forcing myself not to skim anything and actually read it. So no, not for me.
This is a rerelease of this title but I didn’t have the chance to read it before so I am coming into this with new eyes and I loved it. Forbidden romance between former stepfather and stepdaughter. This fact didn’t stop the chemistry and attraction that was between Elijah and Freya when they meet up again. Quick steamy read that will hit the spot.
I know this is a rerelease but I don't remember ever reading it, so I guess that makes this new to me. I love the way Jenika Snow does forbidden romance stories. Elijah was married to Freya's horrible stepmother. After going away for college and then coming back home, she sees him again. All those forbidden feelings start coming up. He's divorced now and seeing her again, he realizes he has feelings for her also. I liked the sort of slow burn before they actually got to finally having sex. The chemistry between these two is scorching hot. There's only one bit of drama when the stepmother is at an event they are attending. Elijah quickly puts that fire out and they leave. Loved the story and of course, I always love the epilogue.
Too repetitive-constantly saying the same things over and over. I also felt the taboo factor wasn't actually that taboo, they just kept mentioning it over and over. If there would have been a scandal, if the Ex would have went to the papers with their sordid love affair-then it would have felt more taboo.
I just wasn't feeling this story. The characters just didn't click for me and I found myself skimming or zoning out and thinking about other things.
I may just have to stick with Jenika's biker men---she does those perfectly!
I how this author does forbidden romance!! Growing up Freya has A selfish and self-centered stepmom and she really is bad after her father dies. Freya is counting down the days until she graduates high school and the only thing that makes it tolerable is her new husband Elijah. When Freya graduates college she returns to her hometown and bumps into Elijah by then he has divorced Freya‘s stepmother. They both have thought about each other over the years but Elijah knows that he wants Freya now that she is grown up, but will Freya capitulate to being with him considering their history?
I know when I read Jenika Snow it's a hit or miss. Personally this one sucked. The sex scenes which are usually her saving grace where stupid and juvenile. A lot of heavy petting. Snoozeville.
The h was dull and immature. She was 22 but acted 17. I did like the H. He was ok. At times he was a wennie. Like he was too desperate for the h attention.
The author wrote in tons of emotions to go with the actions on each page so I really felt right along with them, especially Freya. Full Review: http://thetbrpile.weebly.com/reviews/...
Freya is a strong woman who has endured much in her life. She has lost her mom, gained a step-mom Meghan, lost her dad, and gained a step-dad Elijah. Freya's goals are to keep her head down, finish high school, and receive a scholarship to a college away from home. She accomplished all this and is able to return to her family home that she received when she became of age. Meghan is on to her next husband who has the money to provide for her in how she expects. When Freya and Elijah bump into each other, there are sparks between the two of them. Freya may have a happy ending with Elijah because of the honesty they have for each other and Freya doesn't need a lot of money and things to make her happy. This is a sweet love story where if you ride the roller coaster of life, a Prince may be at the end.
The story may be taboo for some readers, since it's between ex-step father and ex step daughter, but fret not, the love story actually begins after the h is in legal age and the stepfather is single in every humanly possible. The story though, i think it's not even an insta love story. The love and affection between them grows over time, understanding, and compassion. I like the author way to build up the storyline slowly but still keeping intact the lust and sweetness of romance. A great read for us to better understand how such taboo (but not really taboo) love can actually grow and happen to real people. Oh how remarkable the possibility is!!
If you are not grosse out with stepdaddys love, go for it if so really the plot does not says a lot about ther step situacion, so older ex step dad falls for exstep kid, selfish bad stepmom cuz the kids parents are dead.... in the start its kind a small part, and then the fall with each other and HEA
Plot: Freya's father was married to Megan, who then became Freya's stepmother. After Freya's father died, she was underage, so she continued to live with the stepmom. Megan then married Elijah, making him kind of her stepdad. She had a crush on him, and he was someone who was nice to her when she needed it. When she moves back to town, they run into each other, and rekindle a friendly relationship, which quickly turns more romantic.
Character development: Freya and Elijah both feel some of the taboo of their relationship, but given that Elijah was never married to someone who was actually related to Freya, I don't feel it was that big of a deal. The age gap was probably more shocking than anything. It's weird to think that a nice man like Elijah was married to a shrew like Megan, but I guess we all make mistakes. In the end, he was protective of Freya and loved her, and that's what counts.
Part of a series: No
Would I read more from this author/in this series: Yes
This book really makes you look at the question: Is there REALLY that one person your pre-destined to be with, regardless of everything that says other wise?
Elijah and Freya's story is a perfect example. They both struggle w/ the question of whether or not a relationship would be considered wrong or awkward given they're history. Absolutely not. I believe that history or not, when they saw each other for the first time after all those years, that they're fates lined up in that oh so perfect way.
This really was a great story. A true romance w/ a little bit of that Jenika magic. The erotic build up was also very refreshing. The whole story from top to bottom really meshed well.
Touch Me by Jenika Snow is a forbidden romance with a twist. When Freya’s father dies, she is left in the custody of her uncaring, money hungry stepmother. When her stepmother remarries, Elijah enters her life. He is a nice man but nothing can change how miserable and unloved Freya feels. Fast forward several years and Freya is leaving town and her horrible stepmother for college. For his part, Elijah divorces the nasty woman and moves on. Although young, Freya held a candle for the much older Elijah and for his part, Elijah was attracted to the beautiful young woman with the sorrowful eyes. When Freya moves back to town and meets up with Elijah, the sparks fly and the two give into their attraction. Their happily ever after wasn’t easy but it was hard won. TBR Touch Me and Enjoy.

- age gap - slightly taboo romance - slow burn novella
Freya loses her dad as a young child & is left in the care of her evil step mother. By the time Freya is 18, her step mother remarries to a man named Elijah… someone who her step mother doesn’t deserve but Freya is leaving & she isn’t looking back. Elijah tells her that he & her step mother are splitting up and the two part ways.
Years later, Freya returns to her childhood home & runs into Elijah at the grocery store.. & the two get reacquainted. ✨
This novella was only 89 pages & Jenika hits the mark w this slow burn! Loved it. & when we get to the spice? 😮💨
Taboo smut about a girl and her stepmother's ex-husband. Years after they'd lived together when she was a teen, they meet up again and fall in lust/love. The sex was hot. Very drawn out, lengthy and graphic. Smut. The characters were fairly cardboard - nothing to make them stand out in any way. Despite the build up to their sexual relationship, it still didn't even feel like they connected to each other or to the reader. The dialogue was mildly irritating - every other page had "I want you." or "You make me so hard/wet." Oh, and nothing quite so romantic as a proposal right after anal sex. Read this for the sex. That's the strength here.

Elijah and Freya have a taboo romance that makes for a great steamy slow burn. Not only is there a significant age gap, but Elijah was once married to Freya’s wicked stepmother. And while she never saw him as a parental figure, a part of her feels her attraction towards him is socially taboo. But will that stop her from acting on her feelings? Will Elijah be able to control his intense desire for Freya and give her the time and space she needs?
I really enjoyed this book! A little slower than most of the other books from Jenika Snow, but definitely no less steamy. If you like a good slow burn, this book is for you!
I love this book!! I love the way it started when Freya was 15, how she felt, going through the motions of what was going on. How Immediately her and Elijah clicked.... Fast forward a few years... Then a few more years... And they meet again... Only this time there's not just affection but off the chains chemistry!!
Yes this book is taboo, yes he was married to her step mom, no there are no comparisons between the two. I loved how protective and possessive he was of Freya, they were to pieces to a whole! I loved it and I think you will too!!
I thought that this was a really good book. Elijah and Freya were super cute together. I enjoyed the connection and the chemistry between these two. I enjoyed that when these two are confronted with their past, they tell it off and just turn heir heel and leave it in the past. I really liked how Elijah was more than willing to go at a speed the Freya was comfortable with, even if Freya's speed tortured both of them. I did really enjoyed this book so I would recommend it.
I received a free e-book copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
I thought I’d read all the Jenika Snow releases but I missed this one how I really don’t know, but it was so good reading a new one I couldn’t leave it alone I just had to sit and finish it once I started.
Freya loves Elijah but she can’t have him, he’s married to her stepmom, broken-hearted she leaves, 4 years later she’s back and everything has changed Elijah is single and shows Freya she’s it for him.
I love the will they won’t they aspect it makes it all the sweeter when they do get together. Jenika Snow shows us every single time that each release is something special to be savoured.
I thought that this was a good read. Forbidden romance is something I adore and while overall I did enjoy this one, it was not my favorite. While I found the writing and storyline well done and Freya and Elijah likable; this book just never fully clicked with me. Personally, I thought it moved kind of slowly and the whole forbidden angle was so slight that the reactions and anxiety over it just seemed out of proportion to it (at least for me). That is just my opinion though and as I said, in general I thought it was an enjoyable enough book. This is my freely posted frank review.
Love at first sight? Of course I believe that. And these two prove that no matter what people say, what others think is wrong, , they both even struggled with that themselves but when it's right it's right, no matter what anyone else thinks. This was pure love, devotion protective, possessiveness, this was thier destiny. This was an amazing love story, sexy as sin and I loved it Amazing
This is one taboo/forbidden romance I could not put down. Elijah and Freya are perfect together. I love that once they decide to give it a go there’s no separation or some crazy misunderstanding. It’s them getting to know each other. I love how they put Megan in her place though. The story flows so well and moves quickly and you can feel their longing and the sexual tension between coming off the pages.
Holy wow Jenika Snow! This older man, younger woman, forbidden taboo romance has everything!! A little sweetness, a lotta heat, danger in the form of the forbidden and two characters with insane chemistry! I loved it and need more books like this in my life! I received this book as an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.
