All That Glitters
Anita Makeridge works as a scullery maid in a large house in Long Island. Her chores are mainly in the kitchens, but one day she is asked to fill in for another servant and work upstairs. There, she catches the eye of her employer, Mr. Alexander — a self-important, self-obsessed businessman who isn’t used to being told no, and when she rejects the advances he makes toward her, he angrily demands that she is fired immediately. Due to the power Mr. Alexander holds in the local community Anita realizes it will be impossible to find another job in New York… Anita knows she must act and quickly as the colder months are upon her and Christmas is just around the corner. Answering a mail-order bride advert, she travels to Coloma, California, preparing to wed a certain goldminer, Mr. J Price. But when Anita arrives there, she discovers there is not just one but two Mr. Price’s - brothers to be exact and she has no idea which one of them it is that she is supposed to marry! When Anita discovers that it was all a silly prank between the brothers, her world is turned upside down. What can Anita do? She has no money to return home and nowhere else to go. Can Anita find a way to make this work, despite the fact that neither brother appears to want a bride? All That Glitters
This was a great short story. Anita he worked for a family in Long Island for four years. The house was short of staff and Anita was asked to go upstairs and help clean. When she got to the study, the master was in there and he tried to kiss Anita. She slapped and fled. She read an advertisement for a mail order bride in California. She took her rent money, boarded a train, sent an telegram she was coming. When she arrived Cady took her to the brothers cabin. They were not really expecting her. It is really a great read, don’t miss out on this one.

All That Glitters: Historical Western Romance
I really enjoyed All That Glitters By Callow Gardner . I really enjoyed Anita Makeridge as the mail order bride but Jesse ordered her for his brother as a joke Jonathan did not think it was funny he was angry at Jesse for what he did to Anita . I recommend 18 and up .

Anita and her two men
Short and sweet story. Anita is on the run from a wicked employer and jumps at the chance to become a mail order bride to a Mr. J. Price. When she arrives, she finds that there are actually two men named J Price. Both brothers. Jesse and Jonathan. And the young woman who picks her up to take her to their house warns her off Jesse.

Great Story......
I have enjoyed reading this story of the adventures of a young woman who adventures out to the early western days. The author has been enjoying telling her story of the corsage it took for her to strike out on her own.

such a wonderful Christmas story
It made me wish for a longer novel from this author based on the romance in the old west.
