Steel Chariots MC #1

Hades: His Jewel

Rate this book
Hades

Once again, I find myself in the middle of my brother, Zeus’s games in the mortal realm. This time, we’re all members of the Steel Chariots MC, a cover designed to combat the boredom Zeus was experiencing this time. As God of the Underworld, I bow to no one, but still play his games, even if it is against my will.

When a mortal woman crosses my path, something stirs, and triggers my interest with one glance. Suddenly I’m helpless to stop the slow burn of desire I have for her, and the need to make her mine.

A rare jewel who sees me for who I am, yet enjoys my company despite it all, I can’t let her go. I have my own realm, maybe I’ll take her with me when I go.

Hades is a member of the Steel Chariots Motorcycle Club. Zeus is bored. Zeus has decided he wants to role play being part of a motorcycle club. Zeus has forced the gods to be in his MC. Hades is angry and unhappy he must participate. Hades’ MC name is Doom. This is the first book in a new series the Steel Chariots MC. This is an original take on the myth of Hades. Hades is no longer married to Persephone. This leaves him available for a new and different romance. At a diner with the MC, Hades sees Irina Cahill and he has a feeling about her that he wants to explore. He asks Irina out and she accepts. They have an instant budding relationship. Hades and Irina seem to have a burning pull towards each other. You can feel their atttraction. The characters in this story are entertaining and fun, especially Eros. Eros enjoys taunting Hades. The MC characters’ interactions are charming and amusing. This story is a good read that keeps you turning the pages. I look forward to reading the next book in the series. This is my first book by E. Adamson and I’m so glad I gave it a try. I love all things PNR but I specially Greek mythology whether it be real or not. I love the characters, the banter between all the characters and I specially love the writing and storyline. I’m definitely looking forward to more books by this author.

It's been a long time since I read something like this, I think it surprised me how much I actually enjoyed it! I loved the dark, moody but dominating Hades! His character was so different to that of Irina, who was sweet and kind.
The story itself was good, I did however wish there was more intensity from the sex scenes, considering Hades is the god of the underworld, it all felt to plain and normal almost boring.
I would read more from this author.

When I took this ARC I had never read anything by this author so I knew that I was taking a chance by not knowing anything about their writing style. It was a good thing I took that chance because I found an author that I can now add to my growing list. I had a hard time putting it down as I was just dying to know what happened at the end.

*SPOILERS*

It was a good soft read, it was nice to have a break from extra added drama and violence. It was good to see a book that could hold my attention without the violence or drama and keep me in with the developing love story between Hades and Irina. The only thing that I would say is that the story doesn't hold too much steam, of course the couple have a few scenes but nothing big really happens until the end of the book. I'm not saying there is anything negative about that it was just different from what I am used to reading. I still very much enjoyed the book and the love story between the two.

I really enjoyed the character build up, the developing relationship between Hades and Irina was so beautiful. I really enjoyed the open communication and the willingness for both characters to have some kind of sense and understand that each had someone before the other and they were willing to try again and love. It didn't take very long for me to get wrapped up in the story, reading how they were both working through their issues and questioning everything they did. It was beautiful, it was sweet and it was perfect.

There i s a little added drama at the end of the book that seemed a little misplaced as I would have expected something like that more towards the beginning of the story to better set the pace, get issues out and over with. I kinda felt the drama from Gina came a little out of nowhere, I kinda sensed there was some kind of jealousy maybe but I just felt that portion of the story was wrapped up too quickly. The reasoning behind the way that Gina acted is understandable, it just felt so rushed to get the drama with Gina in there and clear it up but make sure they still were not friends seemed a little odd to end so abruptly. I at first thought maybe the reason Gina was so upset was because she wanted to be with Hades or had a thing for Mike and was jealous. It kinda threw me off a little to see their little spat so close to the end of the book.

I most definitely be adding the next book Ares: His Warrior on my TBR list!

When the king of the Olympian gods gets bored and decides to reinvent himself and the rest of his pantheon as a motorcycle club, it's hard to say no. Enter the Steel Chariots MC. Hades gets begrudgingly pulled into all the shenanigans, but when taking on the role of "Doom" puts him in the path of a pretty, lonely diner waitress named Irina, he starts to think that maybe playing along isn't so bad after all. Irina lost the love of her life six years ago and isn't looking to replace him, but then she spots Doom through the window and can't catch her breath fast enough. However, does falling for Doom mean the same as falling for Hades?

I love Greek mythology and Hades is my favorite god, hands down, so I'm always excited to read stories about him. This book isn't a retooling of the Hades and Persephone myth (they were together and eventually separated), but rather an original, modern romance for the character. I know that there's no specific way that Hades or the rest of the gods should act, but I couldn't help but feel that they strayed from my expectations. Their portrayal came across as immature, which then cast a shadow over how I viewed Hades and Irina's relationship. If they were meant to be in high school or young adults, I think that it would have jived a bit better for me because I just couldn't see them as full-grown adults. I recognize that this issue is specific to my point of view, so anyone else could read this and have a completely different reaction.

All that being said, I wouldn't be averse to giving the series another shot with the next H and h.

This paranormal story will pull you in and keep you on the edge of your seat. The characters will captivate you. When Zeus decides he wants to be a mc club he pulls in the others Hades isn't happy about being on earth he's a good of the underworld and never smiles but every time his brother Zeus gets bored he pulls everyone into his games.Irena is a widow she is a waitress at a small cafe when her best friend Gina keeps telling her to move on with her life she's still young. When one day she tells Irena she should check out the gorgeous bikers Irena just ignored her. Then a few weeks later she is waiting tables instead of cooking she hears the motorcycles an looks out the window a man that's dark haired with a body of a god is disagreeing with the one who's supposed to be president of their mc he finally walks in.When she says what can I get you they are surprised when Doom asks for tea sweet tea extra sweet then they all order but Irena can still feel dooms eyes on her. Her heart speeds up an she feels so attracted to doom. When she asks if they need anything else Doom pulls her into his lap he says I want to take you out .Will Irena go out with Doom? Will they fall in love with each other? How will she react when she finds out he's Jaded the God of the dead? There are so many twists and turns to this story will keep you riveted until the very last page and leave you begging for more.I love the way this amazing author brings the characters to life before your eyes and you can feel their emotions and their pain.I can hardly wait to see what's next by this multi talented author.

Zeus is bored so he summons the gods and decides to form the Steel Chariots MC's on Earth to mingle with the humans. Zeus gives each god a biker name and Hades is Doom. While looking for a place for their club they stop to eat at a diner that Irina works as a cook/waitress. They are served by Gina who talks about the good looking bikers but Irina is busy cooking their orders to look. Irina's husband, Mike, died six years ago and she still morns his passing. When the group returns Irina is waitressing and she meets Hades, he's the first man since her that drew her intention. Hades is also draw toward Irina and sets up a date which brings feelings of how lonely he is after his wife Persephone left him. The deeper Hades falls for Irina the more scared he becomes for he's a god and she's human, will Irina stay when she discovers he's "Hades the God of the Underworld"? This is what I will call a clean romance, with a touch of steam, with drama and insight of the feeling Hades and Irina feels during their romance. I found a new author and it's a well written story with likable characters and I look forward to the other books in this series. This ARC was a engaging read I volunteer to read and review via Booksprout.

My first book by this author and I'll be back for more! Irina worked at a diner and after losing the love of her life she wasnt thinking much about finding it again, if that was ever possible. Hades wasnt happy about his brother Zeus's latest boredom buster of starting a motorcycle club called the Steel Chariots, he would rather be home in his underworld than deal with mortals. Hades had been betrayed by love before and swore to never again until he meets Irina. Doom as he was first known to Irina, is straight talking and to the point, when they first meet Doom is an overwhelming presence to Irina but theres something about her that sparks Hades interest more than any other mortal, and he wants to find out why.  As their bond deepens, Hades wonders how a god and mortal could ever work and not end in more heart ache, after all he had lied by omission to her already since the beginning. This is a well written biker romance with a mythological twist. With laugh out loud moments, desires, loss and love. An engaging story line that mixes the worlds of Greek myth and Bikers together.

This was an interesting story about Irina, an older main character, at 35, who had found true love before. Much of the story was her coming to terms with moving on after the death of her husband, and was a more realistic portrayal of grief than some stories where characters move on after a week or a month.

Hades, (disguised as a motorcycle club member) is portrayed as a flawed character, broody and angry. However, we don’t get a glimpse into his psyche (haha- Greek goddess pun) or the back story to his rift with Zeus and Persephone. It’s hinted at, but I guess that mythology is already well chronicled. This story is all about Irina, her life, friends and relationships, and how she found herself among the Greek gods and goddesses.

If you are looking for lots of hot, steamy scenes, this book is going to drag for you. But, if you are looking for a sweet love story with a happily ever after, then please get this book.

Zeus is bored. That usually doesn’t lead to good things, but this time he wants to pretend that he and the other Olympians are a rough, tough motorcycle club. Hades is not exactly looking forward to the experience, especially not when tagged with the moniker of Doom.

Irina has been mourning the loss of her husband for the past six years. She doesn’t want to move foreward in her life without him, but it’s time to find a love to last the rest of her days. She just didn’t expect him to be a member of the Steele Chariots, or that he would steal her broken heart so quickly.

This is definitely a slow burn romance, and while there is conflict and chaos, the story is mostly about Hades and Irina taking a huge chance on the possibility of love. It’s sweet, and a quick read with a definite happy ending. Definitely a jewel.

This the first book I have read from this author and I did enjoy the book. This is the first in the Steel Chariots MC series and it reveals to you how the clubhouse was formed. So you will learn that the gods have decided to come to the mortal realm to start start a motorcycle club. So we meet Hades in this book and his his new identity is Doom. Once you read about his description you will understand why. Then you have Irina who is trying to move on with her life since her husband died. So when these two meet there is a spark that transpires. This series did not have a lot of drama like most of your mc books. This one is more of the insta-attraction that builds. Learning to love again and putting the past behind. Also learning the truth while holding your breath to find out how it will all end. It is a slow burn but we do get a happily ever after.

I absolutely loved reading about Hades and Irina. This was an enjoyable read about two people who find love but they really are not meant to be. Hades is a greek god, the king of the underworld, and Irina is merely a mortal and they find their way to each other and fall in love. There is a little resistance to their union on both sides but they will not be swayed and therefore get married. Even though Hades explains to Irina about his true identity she does not change her mind about her love for him. This book is by a new author to me in E. Adamson and I will most definitely be reading more of her books, especially in this Steel Chariots MC series. Lots of great characters in this book and it was a pleasure to read a love story without suspense and drama. Great start to a new series.

This is the first book I have read by this author and she did a good job. I love Greek Mythology and MC, so I hoped I would like this story. This has the other Gods and Goddesses, but this story centers around Hades and Irina. Hades is the God of the Underworld and hates being in the mortal world. Since Zeus is bored, he has to be here. He wasn’t expecting to meet someone who would turn his head. Irina has been alone since her husband died 6years ago. She is finally starting to move on. She just wasn’t expecting to move on with a biker. When they first meet face to face the attraction and connection was instantaneous and so strong. Hades has found Irina, his jewel, and he will not let anything or anyone get between him. Watch and see what happens between these two. I am excited to read Ares, and hope to see what is happening with Hades and Irina.

This story made me so curious and cry and laugh. My love for mythology, Greek mythology to be precise, only grew bigger. I have always sympathized a lot with Hades because he always seemed to be on the receiving end of everything bad and evil, while he is just as important as his brothers, even more for he rules over the souls and spirits, not the living. I hope that the author would get justice for him in further books of the series, especially, for the ending of this book. I would probably make a scene and yell at them all and slap that b***h so hard she would fly across the room. Excuse my language.

Hades knows that falling in love can lead to pain, but he can’t resist Irina as he keeps getting pulled back to her. They have both lost a past love and are willing to work for this second chance romance as Hades seems to know exactly what to do to win Irina’s heart. Hades knows there will be opposition from the other gods, but he refuses to back down as he builds his future with Irina. I understand they need a reason to bring the god of the Underworld into Irina’s world, but besides stating he is in an MC for Zeus’s game, they don’t do anything for the MC and the only time it really seems to be a part of the story is when her friend is making snap judgements about what bikers are supposed to be like.

Wow. This book is something special! I loved the Greek gods making a MC in the earth realm. I’ve never read anything like this, the author did a wonderful job with all the characters, the story line etc..
Greek gods meets MC
Not your typical MC so if MC romances aren’t your style I would still recommend this book because it’s more about the Greek gods/paranormal aspects. It had great characters, a good storyline, with romance and little hints of drama. It’s a perfect afternoon read.
I can’t wait to read book 2!!

This is a good book from a new author( or at least new to me).
The Gods of Greek Mythology are bored and are up to mischief, so they decide to form a new Motorcycle club +allied the Steel Chariots. The human realm may never be the same again.
Hades is bored and lonely, he just isn’t in this whole MC game that Zeus has cooked up, he then sets eyes on the waitress from the diner they all go to to look human. He is taken and she does things to his heart he’s not use to, and his interest and protective insects kick in.
I love he fact that the author combines both Greek Mythology and Motorcycle Clubs. It should prove to be a great series and I can’t wait for more to come.

Hades and Irina had all the elements for a good relationship. They saw each other for the person they were, and had acceptance and understanding of that fact. Their communication was good and that added to the growing feelings as they fell in love.

The story line was good and well-paced. And I think the characters were done very well, their interactions showing the reader who they are and how they are relating to each other. I enjoyed the banter and bits of humor that enhanced the style that I enjoy reading. Grab your copy and enjoy watching the two of them as they move closer together.

Who knew you could find love with the God of the Underworld but that's just what happens for Irina.
Work and no play is all Irina has time for or really all she wants losing the love of her life she is just existing until one day a group of Bikers come into the Dinner.
Hades is fed up with Zeus's roll playing ideas and has made it quite clear. What happens when they enter the dinner for a second time and he see's Irina no one would have thought it would happen.
Irina is attracted to Hades or Doom as he told her his Road name is, but she really is unsure she is ready to find love again, but if Hades has his way she will have no choice.

Hades!! What can I say about Hades?? He is so amazingly alpha and simply "HOT". He has been known to be a very insensitive being. Doom is his biker name that Zeus gave him. In walks Irina and Hades life is turned on its axis because the God of the Underworld will never again find love I love this series. This author is new to me, but she is a fantastic author and I am looking forward to reading more in this series!! Great Five-Star Read!!!

This is book 1 in Adamson's new series Steel Chariots MC and is the story of Hades and his mortal love Irina. While I liked the characters and overall story line, I thought there were parts where the story lagged, the author got too caught up in the descriptions. I liked the character dynamics although Gina's character confused me. Overall a sweet romance read, nothing like any MC or myth twist romance I've read so far. I'm excited to see where this series may lead...

This gem is the beginning of a new series which also happens to be a paranormal MC. Here we have a god of the underworld whom also is brother to Zeus. Then it happens there is that person called woman that comes onto his path and line of vision. I do so enjoy when the big have fallen in matters of the heart. The biggest thing is she sees him. Hades and Irina keep our attention and the pace is just right. First time in reading this author also.

She lost the love of her life, he doesn't believe love is out there for him. Will she accept who he is?

Have to say, I loved the different spin on this book! I loved the fact that you have this grump God, but how he was with her was completely different. I loved the fact that despite what she learned, she jumped in completely and allowed herself to love him. Great read and definitely cannot wait for more from this series!

I usually really love E Adamson's books since on Inkitt but this book missed the mark for me because Hades came on strongly and it didn't feel like they had much of a connection at the beginning to me it felt like they were very sudden and almost awkward, and the relationship building felt choppy. The more it went on though the more bearable it became, but only enough for me to find this book was neutral.

There is just 1. And only 1 slightly sour thing I could say as constructive criticism and thats the fact I'd love to of seen more MC involvement. Other than that. This was an amazing but very different pull on paranormal/Greek gods genre book! Utterly blew me wide open!
