Maybe then I can claw back some sense of normality.

*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.

Things are really getting interesting now. Zayne and Charlie are trying to stay alive as they try to figure things out but this is not easy when things keep coming at them from every angle. This makes for a fast paced story that will keep guessing as to what will happen next. Lots of unexpected twists to go along with surprising revelations. All leading to a cliff hanger ending that will leave you wanting more. Makes for a fun read for fans of m/m supernatural fantasy novels. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.

Holy wow! This book picks up where the previous one left off and takes us on just as wild a ride. Once again, I don’t think I can describe this book without getting too close to spoiler territory because there really wasn’t any part of this story that went the way I thought it would. I still think Zayn is a brilliantly flawed and vulnerable leading character, with a tortured past and an uncertain future. We get the answers to some of the questions that were posed in the first book, yet this book also generates even more questions that I’m desperate to know the answers to.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author through Black Cat.

This is the second book in the Fallen Fire series, and this one is filled with some answers to some burning questions, and of course at the end we are left with more of them. I love the interaction between Zayn and Charlie; they are such a darn cute couple! Zayn isn’t as grumpy in this one, and I admit that I liked the grumpier version better. LOL! We learn more about Charlie, Uriel, and even Lucifer. This book is excellent with lots of action, interesting developments, and new information, and it is a must-read for those who read the first. Recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

I love this series, and need book 3 now, especially given the way this one ended. I love Zayn and Charlie and how the fake boyfriend trope is worked into this urban fantasy. They’re not fooling anyone, let alone each other. The world building is fabulous, and at the standard I expect from this author.

Zayn and Charlie are both interesting characters, and I love how their mutual attraction is amping up, yet they’re not determined not to make a move. They’re barely getting enough time to catch a breath with everything coming to a head and some of the answers they’re seeking not being at all what they want to hear. I love how Zayn is getting slightly more control over his other side, and more powerful, but at the same time I’m worried that’s not a good sign. The revelation about the identity of the other man in his dreams is heartbreaking. And poor Charlie. His family sucks on all sides. I really felt for him in this story.

I like how the author uses alternating first person perspective to get inside both Zayn and Charlie’s thought processes. At times the narrative reads almost like a stream of consciousness which makes them feel very real.

The supporting cast rocks. I love Martha, and I’m trying to work out Scott’s real role in all of this. Lucifer lives up to his name, as does Lilith. I’m also enjoying learning more about Uriel, and I need to know how that side of the story is going to pan out. Zayn won’t be the same after this, but the question is, can he retain enough of who he is? I’m watching those golden bears too, as I’m not convinced they’re merely part of a dragon hoard.

The plot is action-packed so a fast read. I was on the edge of my seat a few times, and found myself asking questions, and trying to figure out what was really going on as there are several manipulative characters and it’s difficult to know which of the bad guys is playing who and why.

As an aside, someone hiding in New Zealand made me half roll my eyes/half chuckle as we are very far away from everywhere else in the world.

Definitely needing book 3 NOW.

The second installment of the Fallen Fire series gripped me right from the 1st page. I was enthralled by the incredible world the author had built and just dove into the second book expecting it to be as fascinating as the first one. And it was! In this book Zayne is facing complicated issues and hard choices. It was so interesting reading about his inner struggles and dilemmas he was facing. When I read Richard Amos's urban fantasies I always find it amazing how human his characters are being at the same time anything but...Zayne is facing the challenges everyone does at one or another point of their life. Well, the only difference is - not everyone can turn into a dragon, breathe fire and have swords coming out of their hands...Otherwise his characters are human, being anything but at the same time. So Zayne is struggling with his identity and is worried about his friend and associate Charlie, the Felineblood. I am absolutely smitten with Charlie. What a guy! Kind, loyal, smart and doesn't curse! The cursing part is so charming! And I love his feline traits, like loving warm milk, a very special type of cigarettes and...some others.
They both are facing challenge after challenge as the book is packed with action. There will be a lot of players in this game where the price is too high to ignore and you will need your detective skills if you want to try to solve the mystery. I should warn you that this one will end in a cliffhanger, but wow! I just can't wait to grab the last book! What a story!
I highly recommend this book to you if: you are an urban fantasy fan; you enjoy lots of action; you like beautiful flawed characters and love a slow burn romance.

Requiem by Richard Amos is book two in his Fallen Fire series and this book is better than the first and I loved it!! This book not only picks up where book one left off, but the author gives readers a nice little recap as well of what all has been going on, so if you haven't read the first book recently...Don't worry! The first few pages will catch you up nicely and then drop you off where things left off.
Charlie and Zayn have some serious problems ahead. They are running out of people to lean on with the trouble that is circling them, danger is edging ever closer and Zayn is still struggling to control his other side that has now surfaced. Plus...he's a wanted man! Well...the "dragon-man" side of him anyways. LOL! Gotta control that anger/temper Zayn.
The storyline in this installment really flows and kept me engaged from the beginning. I love the danger and the steamy moments that we get in this book. There is a lot going on and I really like the feeling that the author seems to have hit his stride with this book. I can't wait for the next installment as things are getting really interesting making this book hard to put down.
So I am rating this book a 5 out of 5 stars read. If you read and enjoyed the first book in this series then I encourage you to pick this book up and start reading to learn what happens next with Charlie and Zayn, and not just with the angels after them, but between each other as well.

It's pretty much impossible for me to write a properly detailed review of Requiem without some mahoosive spoilers, so I'm going to keep this short and sweet…

The care taken to brilliantly world-build in book one of the Fallen Fire series really pays off in Zayn and Charlie's second outing. There's so much happening with the duo learning about some things from the past, both personal and general history impacting on the current state of affairs. There are confrontations involving the angels and with Lilith's crew, all whilst Lucifer does what he does best. All of the twists and turns in the plot have you right on the edge of your seat, trying to piece together the picture of what's coming next just as Zayn and Charlie are...but we're left with the best kind of 'oh sh!t' cliffhanger, both dramatic and emotional.

My thoughts wrapped up in a couple of sentences? Requiem is a fantastic sequel full of complex, engaging characters who have to navigate the slings and arrows thrown at them by external forces, making for an exciting rollercoaster of a plot. This is exactly my kind of urban fantasy and, while the romance aspect is ultra slow burn, the MCs relationship grows stronger by the page.

5* and can't wait for the next installment!!

This is book 2 in the series and you need to have read book 1 first.
This book is action packed and does not stop all the way through.
Zayn and Charlie are working together to find out more about the dragon and why it has suddenly appeared, when they are meant to be extinct.
I really enjoyed all the dialogue, the interactions between Zayn and Charlie and the slow burn of their relationship.
So much happens in this book that you won't believe all the twists and information revealed. I'm sure that there must be more to neighbour Scott than we currently know.
The world building continues to pull you in and the well planned out storyline is starting to slot into place.

This author is the maestro of the orchestra! This was perfectly laid out, which tid-bits of information appearing at the exact place they were meant to.

The planning and thought behind this plot are truly brilliant and make for an absolutely thrilling read!

Honestly, there is nothing I would add to this, the characters are complex and have good, logical development, the plot moves at an amazing but intentional pace, the action is well-thought-out, well-written and not just thrown in willy-nilly because readers like it.

This series looks after these first two novels as if its going to be astounding and become a firm favourite!

Provided emotional background and action

Zayn, a Humanblood, has to hide eveen more in this world where angels, demons, and magic exists after recently being reawakened as the fallen archangel Uriel. As the story progresses a battle with a previous enemy escalates, strange dreams are actually memories, and the angels may be closer to the truth than he likes. Richard Amos provided emotional background and action in Requiem that was needed to bring Zayn’s struggles into perspective. This book ends with a bang that sets Revenant up nicely.

I read this book with my Kindle Unlimited subscription and I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.

Zayn and Charlie are magnificent characters. So intriguing and their relationship is kind of hot and cold. Both trying to guess what the other wants and not saying. This book has a lot going on in it, lots of little plot designs twisting around each other. Each character saying elements of truth and untruth to make it an interesting story to figure out. Who is lying, who is telling the truth? How will it all come together and how will it all play out? I really can’t wait to see how this one turns out. It’s an amazing read so far.

The second book in this series brings a nonstop action and endless challenges for Zayn and Charlie. Pushed from all sides, they barely have a moment to breathe, and relax is an incomprehensible concept. As the story progresses, twists and revelations that uncover the secrets bring answers to some questions - but the more we know, the more new questions arise. The story was fast-paced and entertaining, with nicely developing M/M romance, and I like the interactions between the main couple. After the cliffhanger, I am curious about the next book.

I loved this second book so much! It was an amazing continuation of the series. I love these characters both the main and side characters so much! They make this story even more interesting. The plot has a good amount of action and intrigue which made me keep wanting to read and find out what would happen next. Charlie and Zayn are working to find out as much about Zayn’s true self and abilities and will they be able to stop Lucifer? I really love Charlie and Zayn so much I can’t wait to find out more about their story and what’s in store for these characters.

Book two in my first series experience by Richard Amos and it has just got more epic.

The battle between heaven's angels and fallen angels is hotting up and some mysteries are revealed that i would not even have thought of before i read it in this story.

I love the magic system in this series as well as the non-human humans being the main world inhabitants making it more interesting than your normal urban fantasy.

Bring on book 3 I say!

Like the great word spinner that this author is the reader is again taken on Zayne and Charlie's life ride with new plot twists, turns, perilous threats to face, mind boggling images, and at the end of this installment a burning sacrificial death and a pile of beloved ash that Charlie is forced to abandon but he leaves carrying a key to the next book in this Fallen Fire series. I write this ARC review willingly and honestly.

What a great follow up Requiem was! I really enjoyed this one, of course that could be because we get some answers to a few of our questions. I am enjoying Zayn and Charlie very much. They are great characters to get lost in. I am enjoying the back and forth between them right now.

There is some twists that you need to look out for, so pay attention. Who is lying, and who is telling the truth. I cannot wait to see what happens next.

I can't stop now...but book 4 isn't released yet.
I'm hooked on this, but I think I should pace myself and not make it where I'm going nuts waiting for the next book release. I'm gonna try for 1/2 way between now and the May release. Think I'll make it that long before starting book 3? Probably not.

Slow burn, but it's heating up.
What is up the the neighbor? Somethings up.
More questions than answers...but that leaves lots of room for getting some answers next book.

What an adventure

I thought book 1 was full of adventure and mayhem but blimey this one.
It’s hard to describe in words just how powerful this one is. Zayn, Charlie, Bob and Benji all mixed up in a story that is incredible and nail biting.
I had no idea what was coming next just hoping that they would reach their ultimate goal.
A million questions left unanswered. So excited for the next book.

I didn't even realize that this was the second book in a series. That's how well the background material was written.

It was too angsty for me, and I rarely say that. I think the characters were wonderfully written. The plot was predictable though. It was okay. I'm not going to read any of the following books. I'm guessing there's going to be an eventual HEA or a plot twist that gives us a HEA.

Really digging this series. Réquiem is the second installment in this new series. It capitalizes on the first as we go deeper into the world while getting to know our main characters even more.
This book had a lot of action going on - enough to keep you busy and entertained. No dragging.
I'm very much looking forward to the next in series to continue the story.

Does Zayn get the essence of Uriel? Is he able to destroy it or forced to merge? What happened to Charlie? Does Lilith catch up to them? Find out in this amazing second book in this Fallen Fire series. I recommend reading book 1 first, as book 2 starts right where book 1 ended. This series is amazingly written. You get emerged in the atmosphere and can't wait to find out more. Who is the dragon incased in ice in the Square? Find out in this book. Absolute love love love this series!!!!

So much better!!

I took a chance reading this, I almost didn't because I was so torn on the first book in the series. But it was like everything that needed to be improved in the first book was corrected in the second and this book was absolutely wonderful!! Im really enjoying how this story is unfolding and look forward to reading the next book in this series :)

I love the chemistry between Zayn and Charlie! Some unexpected bonds form in this book as they try to uncover Lucifers plans and what he up to.

Richard Amos unravels the mystery beautifully and kept me hanging onto his every word. He’s definitely becoming one of my favourite authors and I can’t wait to read more. Highly recommend!

How am I done already?! It's like time flew by as I was reading this. The plot picks up right where Reborn ended. Twists and turns aplenty. Zayn and Charlie are working hard to find out the truth about Zayn's true self. Can they stop Lucifer? I have my suspicions about the neighbor Scott. And is Charlie the key to everything? So many questions!! I'm off to preorder books 3 and 4.
