Hungry For Her

A Small Town Mafia Holiday Romance

Cold River Falls was supposed to be a place to start over. No more fights. No more killing for the mob. Just an escape from the demons from my broken past. A new name, a new life, a new clean future.

That plan is going pretty great, until she walks through the front door of my bakery.

Curvy and sweet. Tempting and innocent. Sophie Caradine pulls me in like no other woman ever has. She captivates me, like a moth to flame. She’s a goodness I’ve never once known.

I should stay the hell away from Sophie. But when trouble from both our pasts comes looking for her, there ain’t no way I’m standing by.

Getting involved could jeopardize everything. Getting close to her could destroy the peace I’ve built for myself.

I used to use these rough hands in anger. But now, all I want to use them for is loving her. Now, all I want to do is hold her close, keep her safe, and never let her go.

And you can be damn sure I won’t.

A reader first and foremost, Jagger Cole cut his romance writing teeth penning various fan-fiction stories years ago. After deciding to hang up his writing boots, Jagger worked in advertising pretending to be Don Draper. It worked enough to convince a woman way out of his league to marry him, though, which is a total win.

Now, Dad to two little princesses and King to a Queen, Jagger is thrilled to be back at the keyboard.

It's been a while since I've read a Jagger Cole read, and well they're still as addictive as the last.

Once again Cole's about to bring together an action filled, sweet and sexy story into one.

If you haven't read Jagger Cole before, he creates brilliant reads that can be finished in a day. They have characters that hook you immediately and then keep on reeling you in.

There's insta-love and a bit of OTT but sometimes you need something a little extra than usual to take your mind off the world.

Hungry for Her was a delightful read, following Caulter. He's a baker and is in the witness protection program so it's not like he has to be nice to be people. That is until one sweet customer arrives.

Sophie is in town to take care of her grandma. As it's Thanksgiving she's been told to pop down and get some pumpkin pie, what she doesn't expect is to meet a hunk of man instead and fele thing she hasn't in a while.

Sophie and Caulter have an instant connection, and despite there being risks to them being together they throw caution to the wind and do as they please. Sure it causes some trouble but what's a little chaos.

A fun, short read! Grab it now!

An ARC was provided in exchange for an honest review.

This author is new to me and I looked through all their books to find one that fit my taste.

It was okay. Their meet cute was funny and the grandma was a hoot. But they met, slept and declared I love yous in ONE day. That girl drove to his bakery like 4 times in ONE day!

Good ending for a Thanksgiving novella, but I wanted to see further in the future.

This is a non-stop action story with twists and turns!! In my opinion this story is the best this author has written so far! Sophie flees Chicago to get away from an abusive ex, but also she has to come back to care for her Grams. Caulter/Edward is from Chicago also but he comes to the little town for completely different reasons. Sophie’s abusive ex shows up and it all starts unraveling from there. Will Caulter be able to protect Sophie when their pasts come back to bite them?

Cole is back at it again with another fabulous story that is straight up what he does best: insta-love, lusty goodness!! It was sweet and sensual and had me hooked from the start when “Edward” was at his tipping point with his customers. All it took was Sophie walking into his bakery and his customer problem was a thing of the past.

Great storyline, steamy romance, and one sassy grandma...this story had it all. Cole is that one author I never have to read the blurb. I already know I will one click the hell out of it and read immediately!! 5 Stars!!

I received this free eARC novel from the author and Ardent Prose Publicity. This is my honest review.

I think this might be one of my all-time favorite novels by Jagger Cole! It was so unique and different, yet steamy and sweet. I love how much of a contraction the main male character is - living a life of survival, but also loving to bake. And Sophie is the same, where she is so sweet, yet her past is full of danger and craziness!

And for both characters to come from Chicago but meet in a small town, only to have their pasts line up as well was a bit too convenient, but I'm all about that because their connection was on FIRE!!! They instantly connected, were instantly attracted to one another, and neither of them played any stupid games of pretending they weren't attracted to each other. It was very refreshing considering many novels would play out that and create a lot of drama between the characters.

I'm a bit confused about Sophie's hair color; I'm sure it said she was a blonde, and had "dark hair" in the novel, but also the model on the cover is a brunette, so that's probably the only thing I would complain about. In the end, it doesn't matter because I absolutely, positively adored this novel and everything that was in it!!

Also, Sophie's grandma? I seriously laughed out loud so many times whenever she was in the page because she is a HOOT!!!! I could read more about these characters as long as grandma is with them, because it would never be boring!!

A fantastic novel just in time for the turkey holiday season. I didn't know I needed this novel until I finished it!

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "HUNGRY FOR HER" This was such a delightfully well written hot Thanksgiving Romance by Jagger Cole with mystery, suspense, intrigue, secrets, laugh out loud moments, hot steamy scenes, abuse, twists that make a very addicting short novella.
Sophie Caradine left Chicago to get away from her abusive cheating ex-Joey to come help her Grams Lucille she has ovarian cancer & she one funny delightful character she sends her to get a Pumpkin Pie at Magpies for Thanksgiving Dinner.
Caulter Witter was an enforcer for Donny Pompei Mafia until he found out he was trafficking young girls he wrnt to FBI Agent Marshall to give info on him & what he's doing he want down for any of that he gets put into WITSEC in a small town in Cold River Falls he owns the bakery Magpie.
Sophie is just the next person to come in asking for Pumpkin Pie which he never makes but when he sees her he finds her adorable, beautiful, sexy & she makes him smile she hoped he didn't have any of the a pie she thinks it's disgusting.
Sophie gets a terrible surprise when she goes back to get apple pie when she leaves her ex-Joey pulls up get out huts her a few times tells her to get in car then Edward is there beating the crap out of Joey drawing attention to himself he's suppose to keep a low profile.
I definitely recommend to get this fun quirky all around delightful Thanksgiving Novella the characters were great interesting, entertaining, especially Grams Lucille the showdown with Caulter & Donny was great you'll thoroughly enjoy this book I know I did I can't wait for extended episode.

Grams Stole The Show!

I had actually ended up grabbing this book because there was another of Jagger Cole's books I was interested in reading, but as a new to me author I wanted to try something shorter to see if his writing style would fit me. And this one totally tells me that it does!

I am a huge lover of any romance that involves a baker or a bakery, so that is actually why I picked this one. I absolutely giggled over the FMC and MMC's mutual dislike of pumpkin pie. They're both completely wrong but that's besides the point LOL

I loved that neither Sophie or Caulter were who they appeared to be at first glance, but they were hooked. That soul deep kind of connection.

This book had a wonderful balance of suspense / action and romance to keep me as a reader engaged.

But the best part of this entire book was Grams. She had me laughing so many times throughout the book, she clearly stole the show.

Oh I love Jagger Cole's book I try to read each and every one of them. They really are that good and will get you hooked in a heartbeat. Caulter or Edward known in his new role is hiding out in protective custody for going against the mob. He was over what they were doing and put a stop to it. However because of an i not dotted he will still be in danger. He runs a bakery and loves to cook it's relaxing, but when a woman walks into his shop he can't help but stare a little longer. Sophie is there for a pie that is not made a bakery. However she get's a look at Edward and can't help her heart beating faster. When he saves her their lives are about to take a turn. But can he run from his past, save her, be himself, and not die? Find out in this hot and steamy romance.

Caulter/Edward is hiding from the mob after testifying against his former boss. Running a bakery doesn't seem like the career for him but he has always loved to bake. What he doesn't like is people, especially coming in the day before Thanksgiving to ask for pie. Sophie comes into the bakery and Caulter is smitten. The feeling is mutual but she has a an ex that just won't leave her alone. It really feels like fate had a hand in bringing Caulter to this little town to meet the woman of his dreams. While this novella was short with a trope that has been around a while, it felt fresh and was packed with feels. I had a lot of fun getting to know these two, not to mention Sophie's grandma, she was hysterical. I will definitely be watching and eagerly awaiting the next Jagger Cole book!

Hungry for Her is an understatement.

Caulter is hard core tough. His previous life was not pretty or easy. So much so, that he is living a new life, as a baker in Cold River Falls. All he must do is keep a low profile and mind his own business. Easy right? After all, he is a loner and has no one to protect or love.

Sophie is home to help her Grams out. Not that Grams needs help, she just needs some pumpkin pie. Sophie is strong and will do anything to protect her Grams. She is sassy and has a little attitude. But when her world collides with Caulter, everything she thought she wanted and needed is gone.

Caulter and Sophie are now focused on each other and what a ride they endure. This couple is hot, sexy, and perfect for each other.

ARC received for honest review

Wow. I did not expect to love this little story like I did considering short stories don't normally get me feeling this many emotions but damn, this one sure got me hooked. I laughed, I smiled, I worried, I swooned and I fell in love. The main characters were a delight to read ESPECIALLY the grandma. Oh, how I love that badass, hilarious, borderline-crazy grandmother of Sophie's. I loved the chemistry between Caulton and Sophie too. Even though I don't usually like insta-love so much, I felt the love and desire they had for one another on their first meeting because it was written well. The book just needs a touch up with editing (at 76% - Caulton's name was spelt wrong).

I've never read a book by Jagger Cole previously but I know judging by how I felt towards Hungry For Her this one won't be my last. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

The majority of the story takes place the day before Thanksgiving and I just happened to be reading it the day before Thanksgiving! Caulter owned a bakery but would not bake pumpkin pies and was getting aggravated with people coming into his bakery to buy pumpkin pies.

Sophie comes in looking for a pumpkin pie for her Gram, and he’s all heart eyes. From this point on we get swoony, protective alpha goodness wrapped up with smitten Sophie sweetness.

It’s not all puppies and unicorns, however. Both Sophie and Caulter have dark elements that chase them to their little town in Minnesota creating an action packed evening for our new couple.

This is a nice, short holiday read with lots of steam, some cracked skulls and nicely turned out fondant.

This was a really fun and steamy read! You get some action with the combined trouble of their past which makes Hungry for Her a great short story. It has everything you need to keep you interested and entertained.

I love when a bad boy goes good and falls for the sweet, small town girl. Caulter and Sophie are the perfect mix of instalust meets instalove. I also enjoyed the baker aspect, usually it’s the heroine who has that talent and it was refreshing to have that switch up. Exactly what I needed to read during this holiday, or really any day!

Short and steamy

Loved it. Perfect thanksgiving pre-read. Quick short story filled with action steam and love. It’s hilarious with Sophie’s grams and all the things that come out of her mouth. Caulter is in witsec and hiding from some bad people when he meets Sophie. An adorable story with pumpkin pie later and they are entangled like no other. When they realize their pasts both have a connection. They fit together and are hot.

Edward is in witness protection for testifying against the mob. He is a baker in a small town. Sophie is taking care of her ill grandmother. When she comes into the bakery to purchase a pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving dinner, they are immediately attracted to each other. Things do not go smoothly for them. Her abusive ex-boyfriend shows up and starts trouble. Then the mob finds Edward. But, all ends well and there is a nice HEA. This is a short, action packed, steamy romance. I really enjoyed this one. idk

I prolly was just not in the mood for this, but it read like a mexican telenovela with all the drama with the ex and the secrecy and the noble sacrifice “no you gotta stay away from me yada yada”.

Also. Too much giggling at the start from the girl. I can take the sunshine-grump trope, but only with so much giggling.

As with all Jagger Cole books go, this one’s written really well. The story’s just not my cup of tea.

Good short story

I enjoyed this short story about a guy in Witsec and Sophie who has run from her abusive ex. 'Edward' is now a baker and has his own shop courtesy of the FBI. Sophie is looking for pumpkin pie for her grandma and happens upon the bakery. He doesn't sell pumpkin pie because he doesn't like it and she doesn't like it either. There, they have broken the ice and can now get onto the steamy stuff. As well as trying to fight some Mob guys.

Love in a Day

Broody Caulter is instantly smitten with sweet Sophie when she comes by his shop. And she likes him too. Too bad baddies are after them both. But he'll do anything to keep her safe. A decent short read with bad guys and a bad-a** MJ-smoking Grams who can wield a shotgun with the best of them. Steam included. The editing could have been better. "Cautler" is not the hero's name. This was a fantastic book. Caulter and Sophie's was short yet scorching hot with some suspense and action! Caulter is the a growly possessive alpha male while Sophie is sassy and hilarious. These two are prefect for each other. These two are more connected then they could possibly imagine but I think it brings them closer together. There was a lot of LOL moments in this book and I loved Gran (she was awesome)! I would highly recommend this book and Mr. Jagger's books and I can't wait to see what he has in store for us next!

Coulter loves baking and has chosen a bakery for his second career, leaving his work as a fighter and enforcer for the Chicago mob behind for witness protection in Minnesota. Sophie visits his shop and agreed with him that the vegetable gourd pumpkin should not be a dessert pie for Thanksgiving. Sophie may have made mistakes picking her man in the past but that does not keep her from falling into insta-love with the crude giant! But when her ex, who happens to be the nephew of his old boss that he ratted out to the FBI, comes looking for him they have big trouble. Thank goodness her Gram, still recovering from cancer, shows up in the middle of the night to save the day!

No Pumpkin Pie

A very fast and cute read from a great author.
Edward (aka Caulter) meets Sophie when she stops in for Thanksgiving Pumpkin Pie.
Edward is a huge man and Sophie is a little bit of a woman.
Sparks are starting and soon to be a fully engulfed inferno.
Enjoy this book as much as I have.

Caulter kicks butt

Loved Caulter and Sophie and the tokin Grams. A baker, Caulter has giant muscles and a big heart but is in hiding. Sophie is staying with her Grams, a cancer survivor and Sophie is hiding from an abusive ex-boyfriend. They make a perfect hot hot hot couple. Grams is sassy, crass and I love her mouth. Linda

Sexy, but....

Ooh, it's a steamy read but please, get a proofreader!! The first time I read about the bugle in the H's pants, it made me smirk. When I read it several times, that tore it. Can this guy blow his own horn? And he even misspelled the hero's name! The word you want is bulge.

He doesn't look like an Edward.

Caulter Witter is in the WitSec program because he turned in a high profile mafia guy for selling off girls to the highest bidder. The first time he meets Sophie he wants to be with her forever, only problem is both of their pasts catch up with them. This is a great read and I highly recommend it!

Ugh

The grams is so awesome. I adored the fmc. But the mmc he would have been great if he didn't contradict himself. After saving her, he said he shouldn't have done that. So basically, he is saying he would just allow her ex to beat her. Jus for that comment, I don't care for him at all.

Short, Sweet and Steamy!

Ex-enforcer Caulter Witter is in witness protection and hating his new life as a small town baker. That is, until the beautiful Sophie Caradine walks in. Caulter is supposed to keep a low profile but when he sees Sophie getting assaulted, the need to protect what’s his takes over, no matter what the consequences are.

Funny, sweet, twisty and steamy!
