Forced to volunteer at the hospital is the last thing Chase Masters wants to do over the Winter Break. He’d rather be spending his days on the snow with his friends. After all, it was only a little trouble that he caused… Christmas is Angelina’s Smith favorite time of year. She loves the bustle of helping out at her family’s Christmas Tree Farm. It doesn’t seem fair that she’s scheduled for chemo treatment the week of Christmas. When Chase mistakes Angelina for a fellow volunteer, the two don’t exactly get off to the best of starts, but the Spirit of Christmas is a wondrous thing… Can Chase and Angelina open their hearts and find the joy of Christmas together?
I’ve been waiting a year to read this book. Kylie Keys has such a sweet, nostalgic writing style that it’s perfect for November and December. Her stories are about the innocence of love and it reminds a person of what it feels like to get butterflies in their stomach.
His Christmas Angel is about Angelina and Chase. They’re polar opposites but this one Christmas has their lives crashing together in a way nether one of them expected.
If you are looking for a sweet, clean romance with all the small town vibes, give this book a shot.
This is the first of the Christmas Snow series and tells the story of Chase Masters and Angel (Angelina) Smith. Chase is the mayor of Snow Ridge’s son and has been forced to volunteer at the local hospital over the Christmas break, for his dangerous antics at a recent party! It is a punishment that he doesn’t take very seriously and isn’t really keen to do either. He is missing all the holiday parties and get togethers with his friends and the chance to ask out the prettiest girl in school, after she broke up with the quarterback. In comparison, Angel is stuck in hospital over Christmas for her top up chemo treatment for leukaemia, which was brought forward due to the tech not being available for her scheduled session in two weeks’ time. Christmas is her favourite time of the year and she would normally be helping her family selling Christmas trees from their Christmas Tree Farm. She is the best out of all the family at knowing exactly what trees their customers are going to buy. She has helped grow the trees from seedlings, for the whole seven years it takes to grow them into fully grown trees for people’s homes.
Chase will have to work almost full time to get his hours completed during the festive period and isn’t happy to meet his mother’s friend May, who is in charge of logging his hours. He is told another volunteer will be joining him, and is asked to start by decorating a tree, but just starts chucking the stuff on. When a pale looking girl about his age comes into the lounge, he thinks she is the other volunteer and tells her to sort out the tangle of tree lights he gave up on. When he finishes emptying all the boxes of decorations, he takes off, reckoning the other volunteer can finish off the tree. The next day a concert is put on for the patients and his job is to put out then put away a load of chairs. There are some other volunteers there, on what is now Christmas Eve, but they are all rather elderly and he can’t understand why they volunteer. But their stories soon make him mellow a bit, as well as meeting a few of the young patients.
Finding out he made a mistake about Angel and how he treated and spoke to her, he is upset with himself and can’t get her out of his mind. He feels guilty about not even going out and getting presents of his own for his little twin sisters, expecting his mother to have done it as usual. He even gets mixed into making friendship bracelets with the twins and they suggest making some for the kids in the hospital. They even push their parents to allow them to visit the hospital to give them out in person. Chase is desperate to see Angel, but his sisters steal the limelight. When she has to leave before seeing him the next day, she overhears about his hours left of his commitment and realises he was being forced to be there, so maybe his actions towards her weren’t because he liked her for her! So difficult to figure out what was going on for real, when she has still got such a heavy load on her shoulders and doesn’t know how long her future may be. Why would someone like him want someone like her?
But Christmas miracles can happen and a teen who may have previously only thought about themselves and their friends and having a good time, has come to realise how lucky they are, especially after seeing the kids at the hospital and what they have been dealing with! A lovely lesson on volunteering and the joy that it can bring, both for those doing the volunteering and those who they are helping. Seeing what the patients get from the volunteers and especially seeing what others think of the events the mayor helps out at and all he does for the community, soon makes Chase think again about life and others in particular. A lovely Christmas story which shows people can change and that dreams can also come true. It shows what is truly important in life, family and relationships, in a short but well felt tale. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.
After getting into trouble, Chase Masters, the son of the Mayor and Mayoress is made to do volunteer work at the local hospital over Christmas break. Something he rather not do, since it means missing out on having fun with his friends in the snow. His annoyance at volunteering has him mistaking Angel for a volunteer and putting her to work. But what he doesn’t realise is she is actually a patient, who will help him to see the error of his ways. An blessing in disguise, or in his case an Angel in disguise. Angelina ‘Angel’ Smith loves Christmas, always helping out her family with their business during the busy season. But unfortunately her scheduled treatment means she will be in hospital during Christmas and not at home. However what she doesn’t expect is to meet Chase (in the hospital), someone who put brighten her Christmas in ways she doesn’t expect.
His Christmas Angelwas a beautiful story with heartfelt moments that hit you deep and hard. So much so that it had me to the point of where I was on the brink of tears when reading it. At the same time there were still moments that were cute, sweet, funny and precious resulting in a HEA, which I enjoyed.
Angel and Chase were a cute couple. The fact that they were both there for each other and helped each other out to without realising was sweet. I loved seeing that Angel, unbeknownst to her played a part in Chase having a revelation to change his ways and become a better person than he was, with having seen the light of his ways.
All in all, I enjoyedHis Christmas Angelby Kylie Key, it reminded me why I adore YA books. From the sweetness of the lovable romance to the adorable awkwardness behaviour that the characters go through. It’s a genre, I will never tire of and will always continue to read.
I enjoyed this story a bunch. It hit hard, was wholesome and complete. I loved the characters development. The story proceeds amazingly. I didn’t know if I would like this book because of the different concept but everything gelled great with my style. Every little detail added something to the story. I enjoyed how the hero grew and learned that the world doesn’t revolve around him. I liked how their situations brought them closer together. While the hero is a bit prissy in the starting, he became a better person by the end of the story. I love it when the characters get better instead of worse.
The story follows Angel and Chase. Chase is being forced to volunteer at the hospital because he was very immature and could have almost hurt someone. Angel is a cancer patient in the ward he is volunteering at. On Chase’s first day, he mistakes Angel for a volunteer and puts her to work. Being under chemo, she tries her best but is a bit too weak. The next day they see each other again, and being an idiot, Chase again puts Angel to work. After that day, he sees that she is a patient and how rude he was acting. He quickly apologizes and has a kind of revelation. They both feel an attraction that is new for them.

I easily finished this in one day! What a super cute but heart wrenching story! Chase is kind of a troublemaker and recently got in trouble. His parents are the Mayor and Mayoress of the town so he has to volunteer at the hospital to make up for it. Angelina (Angel) is actually a cancer patient at the hospital for the week of Christmas. Chase doesn’t realize that at first and thinks she’s a volunteer like he his. I honestly was not expecting to cry throughout this story but that’s how my night ended. I loved this story though and the characters. Chase had great character development at the end and his sisters were super cute! I felt really bad for Angel though but I was so thankful that she had Chase and Chases family on Christmas. I’m excited for a new series by Kylie. I highly recommend her stories.
There is some very heavy parts in this story. Angelina has leukemia. She is a teenager, with cancer and in the hospital during Christmas.
Chase is also a teenager who pretty much only cares about himself. Where and how he can enjoy himself is top priority.
When Chase meets the most beautiful girl at the hospital his perspective changes. He begins to see past his own self and has concern for others.
Angelina doesn't believe a cute guy like Chase could like her. Not only does she look terrible but who would want to date someone who has cancer! She knows she just had her hopes up. Chase is just being a nice volunteer, right?
I loved this work. It was adorable and I couldn’t put it down. The growth of the main male character was fantastic, it was like watching a caterpillar turn into a butterfly. The whole story was so sweet. The main character was endearing just as she was. The plot worked fantastically for the story and was wonderfully written. It’s been awhile since I’ve read in the teen genre and I enjoyed this work immensely.
I give this a five out of five stars. The plot and characters were fantastic. I couldn’t put it down, I look forward to more by this author.

Chase is grounded and he has to volunteer in the paediatric ward in Snow Ridge Hospital during winter break. He is annoyed for losing the parties and the snowboarding with his friends. But sharing his time with the sicks children at the Hospital in Christmas will show him how shallow his life was, and how grateful can be helping others. An Angel will open his heart and see the beauty of life

Kylie Key is one of my favourite YA authors. She writes with a real understanding of teenagers and their emotions, and brings them to life in the pages of her books. For a short time, her characters become real to me, and His Christmas Angel is no exception. As I read Chase and Angelina's story, I cried and laughed right along with them. Kylie Key never disappoints when I want a really good, heartwarming story, and His Christmas Angel is no exception.

Angel is such a strong, sweet character. I felt her emotions deeply. Chase became a changed person. I loved that his perspective changed when he volunteered at the hospital. I was good to see him turn his life around and become less self centered. I like that the characters' problems very true to life problems.

This book got me into the Christmas mood! It's a cute teen read about Chase, who is in trouble and is made to volunteer at the children's hospital. He meets Angelina who he thinks is another volunteer, and sets her tasks, and acts like a jerk. Later he learns she is a leukemia patient. A really sweet story, I loved Chase and Angelina together, and Chase's twin sisters!
Angelina is a cancer patient at Christmas time. Chase is the mayor's son, "punished" for his crimes. He has to volunteer 50 hours at the hospital. Chance meeting, mistaken identity, and more. Can these two find love in a hospital at Christmas time? Fall in love with all the children and fell the to magic of Christmas:) Happy Reading!

Chase only cares about himself until he meets Angelina who has leukemia. She changes how he sees life in general. Angelina can not believe someone like Chase can be interested in a girl like her.

Is it possible for a self-centered teenager to realize that other people are important, too? Sometimes it takes an angel to get a person on the right track. Very good!
3.25⭐️ really sweet, I liked how Chase grew as a person throughout the book, even though it was a bit unrealistic. I also thought that Angelina's cancer could've been written more emotionally, it didn't really make me too attached or sad.
