Fallon's Flaw

Rate this book
Fallon returns to Africa and Bullard's home base to follow the only active lead they have in their hunt for their plane saboteur. Once home, Fallon finds Dave, Bullard's right-hand man, heading out to check on a lead for Bullard, and Dave's niece, Linny, is home for a visit. Fallon and Linny have shared both good and bad moments, as the two of them dance around a long-term attraction - which Fallon refuses to pursue, not wanting his relationship with Bullard and the crew at the compound to change.

Linny plans to confront Fallon, but instead finds an old beau dropped dead on the front steps of the compound, considered her second home. Uncle Dave is everything to her, and Bullard sent her to medical school, yet it's Fallon she keeps coming back to see.

As her world implodes, the same issues facing Fallon take a turn for the worse...putting them all in danger.

Lost a star due to same same same ...
Well 6 books in and everyone is still looking for Bullard. The entire series so far has followed a formula ... basically only changing names and location. I guess I stuck with it this far to see what happened to Bullard. The next in the series is Quinn's story. Not sure if I'll continue.

Fantastic!

More mysteries are discovered, but no answers are uncovered on finding out what has become of Bullard and who is responsible for the attacks on the team.

Fallon returns to his home at the Bullard compound in Africa, to see what is going on there. His return is spurred on by the lack of clues elsewhere. He also finds Dave, Bullard’s right hand man, who has been running the compound on his own and following up on clues he has received, packed and ready to head out to see what those clues reveal. Fallon also finds Lindsey, Dave’s niece, a doctor, who is currently at the compound visiting Dave. Fallon & Lindsey have a history of mutual attraction which neither one has acted on for years.

With everyone else at the compound away, with the exception of Fallon’s teammate, Quinn, Lindsey reveals she has a stalker named Ben. Fallon & Quinn need to find out who Ben is and if his interest in Lindsey is related to Bullard and his disappearance or just a weird fascination with the beautiful woman.

I love how this all becomes twisted around Lindsey and quickly brings out the protectiveness of Fallon for her safety and well being. It appears that each clue brings about a dead body and more concern for Lindsey’s safety. Fallon needs to keep Lindsey close while he and Quinn investigate the people trying to exploit her.

This story slowly ramps up the intensity when Lindsey discovers Quinn and Fallon missing and a stranger is in the house hunting for her. I enjoy Lindsey’s independence and moxey. She makes Fallon pause and realize she is an adult and very capable of making her own decisions. I also enjoy how Lindsey takes the romance matters into her own hands and gives Fallon an ultimatum of sorts.

Still no real clues as to the whereabouts of Bullard and answering the question of why, but I am excited for Quinn’s story to get us closer!

This is the sixth book in the Bullard Battle series. Bullard is the owner of a security company based in Africa. Someone is trying to take out everyone on his team. The first book starts with a plane blowing up in the ocean. Two of the passengers were rescued and Bullard went missing. Each member of the team that works on finding out who is behind the crash, ends up having to survive an attempt on their own life. This book didn’t have as much action as some of the other books in the series, but it made up for it with a love story and a creepy stalker. Before the story ends, Fallon discovers more leads for the team to follow. The team is getting close to finding out the answers, so they can stop looking over their shoulder. The epilogue usually gives a peek into the next book. I was so excited to find out what is going to happen in the next book that I was disappointed that it had to end. Now I can wait to see where the next book takes us.

This book will keep you on the edge of your seat. There is plenty of action, suspense and deaths all over the place. When the compound is breached they know they are in trouble. Fallon and Linny have been dancing around their attraction for years, now their in the same place and she's not letting him ignore her. Dave is her uncle and while he's gone, Quinn and Fallon are supposed to look out for her. Excellent read and can't wait to get to the next book and closer to finding Bullard. Unrealistic and poorly executed

Potential Plot spoilers!
So, six books in and they have remained consistently poor.
In a previous book the characters wandered out to the deck and had a bbq, which is fine except it was set in Switzerland.
Not that they can't have bbq's in Switzerland, it's been years since I visited there so I'm sure they do, but the scene wasn't written with a Swiss slant at all, it was very much written with an American slant.
Likewise the book set in Paris had no scene setting whatsoever. The French characters had names like DeeDee, Jeremy, Angus, Michael and Samantha.
Now, set in South Africa, it's just as lacking in scene setting.
Yeah there's a compound set outside the city - which city would that be because there are quite a few of them in South Africa, it's a pretty big place. Then they are apparently in a small town where there aren't that many pool places.
So, which is it? A city or a town?
No mention of weather, or the local populace.
The characters say 'interesting' a lot, every single one of them in every book so far say 'says you' a lot too.
The sub characters have a dialogue straight out of a bad movie with dames and lots of 'man's
In the preview of Quinn's book we have one character telling Quinn he is owed twenty bucks.
Now I'm not an expert or anything and I've never been to South Africa but even I knew they don't use dollars as currency, even before checking good old Wikipedia I knew they have the Rand. A 2 minute check on Wiki tells me the South African Rand has 10 other official names but not one of them is dollar or bucks. It's made up of cents but not bucks.
Which is all besides the point.
The point is a certain amount of laziness on behalf of the author.
Don't write a book set in a foreign country and then proceed to Americanise everything about that country. Just set it in happyville USA. At least that way the reader gets what they expect.
Romance? No, not really unless you count the h coming into the H so strongly it would be deemed harassment by a man to a woman.
It's actually quite odd that the author is quite happy to have people killed off in a variety of methods even if they are vulnerable and blameless, lots of shootings and panning people's heads in with a cast iron pan but swearing seems to be forbidden.
Now, don't get me wrong, I don't need to read effin and jeffin every few words but this series is set in the world of mercenaries with hostile action ongoing so it's weird that there is no swearing.
There is one sex scene lightly written.
Would I recommend the series?
No, not really and I wish I had genuine reviews to peruse before I committed to the series, I can't stand the star reviews being left without the written review because it skews the way potential readers view the purchase. It should be mandatory to leave a written review even if it's only a few words.

Another hit in the brilliant "Bullard's Battle" series, this is a standalone book but I would suggest reading the series in sequence to get the most enjoyment.
Bullard was head of a security team based in Africa, his plane was blown from the sky and Bullard was still missing, five of his team members had been attacked.
Fallen Carter and Quinn Santos had returned to the Africa base to help look for clues and continue the search.
Dave was Bullard's right hand man but he had to leave the compound leaving his niece Linny with Fallon and Quinn, Linny's parents had been murdered when she was fifteen and her Uncle Dave had stepped in to look after her and eventually put her through medical school.
There was a history and an attraction between Linny and Fallon, everyone knew this but Fallon's code of ethics made him determined not to take it any further........Linny had other ideas.
The body of a man who had perused Linny was found at the gates of the compound, the security alarms had been tampered with, was someone after Linny and if so why ? Was someone trying to take over Bullard Security ? Why were artistic pictures of Linny turning up everywhere ?
The body count was escalating, the local police were getting fed up of the calls to pick them up. What was happening in Africa, all their lives were in danger, where was Bullard ?
Does Linny get her wish with Fallon ? can Fallon resist the chemistry between them ?. I am so looking forward to Quinn's story'

In this book, the intensity shifts into high gear as we come closer to the conclusion of this fast-paced series.

Falcon returns to the African compound after he completes his last mission. This compound is where Bullard lives (lived?), and is run by Dave. Dave’s niece, Lindsay, also lives there. She was raised by her uncle after her parents were murdered when she was younger.

Lindsay and Falcon, who have known each other for years, have always been strongly attracted to each other. However, Falcon refuses to acknowledge it. At first she was too young. Once she was older, Falcon did not want to cause any complications between himself and his colleagues, Dave and Bullard, who are also his good friends.

When Falcon realizes that someone is tampering with the compound doors and trying to get in, he is concerned that it may be associated with Bullard’s situation. However, he soon discovers that a stalker has been bothering Lindsay for a long time. When they discover Lindsay’s stalker’s dead body outside on the grounds of the house, they realize that it is possible that Lindsay may have her own problem.

The plot is a very complex one that leads the reader down many twisted pathways. Lindsay’s stalker situation, somehow, appears to be tangled up with the missing Bullard and his plane crash. The author confuses the readers with many suspects. And there are many events that suggest multiple different possibilities.

In the middle of all of this, Lindsay continuously attempts to encourage Falcon to finally surrender to their obvious chemistry.

This is another action-packed, complex mystery that leaves the reader guessing until the very end.

Fallon returns to Africa just as Dave is getting ready to leave following a possible lead on Bullard.

Dave's niece Lindsey is there on vacation from medical school and would be taking over his duties while he's gone. Well she would keep the guys fed anyway and treat any injuries that may occur. Fallon isn't thrilled over 'babysitting' but Lindsey isn't a child she's a doctor preparing to specialize in surgery. Quinn is meeting Fallon and it turns out he arrives in time to take Dave to the airport so Linny as he calls her isn't left alone.

There's been some strange things going on with the alarm system and when it goes off for no apparent reason, Fallon becomes suspicious. As Quinn and Fallon start looking into it, they start wondering if someone might think Lindsey is there alone. When they question her she relates about the creepy, with the guy who always seems to know when Lindsey comes to visit.

The next thing we know that creepy guy is dead at the front gate.

With it just being Fallon and Quinn, Linny has to stay close. What they discover is more than a simple stalker.

Plenty of suspense and intrigue in this, as Dave checks out folks that have been pulled out of the ocean. It turns out to be more than just one lead it's several in different locations.

The attraction with Fallon and Lindsey is explosive and this time she's not going to let him get away.

We are getting closer to finding Bullock, yet not. I really can't wait for the next book in this series!

Fallon’s Flaw by Dale Mayer
Bullard’s Battle Series Book Six
Fallon Carter has returned home to Bullard’s compound. He finds Dave, Bullard’s friend who cooks and keeps things running, and Dave’s niece, Linny. Fallon has always had to try to keep his control around Linny. She’s so beautiful, but being with her would mess up his “family” here. So when Dave has to leave for a few days, it falls to Fallon and Quinn to keep an eye on Linny. Not easy since all heck breaks out.
Lindsey “Linny” is taking a break from her studies in New York to visit her uncle. She has a few more months, and she’ll be a surgeon. Now that she’s here, she’s decided not to leave Fallon again without finding out if he’s ready to face the truth. That they both care about each other, only, they have to find out about a stalker who’s after her and if he is connected to anything to do with Bullard’s accident.
Bullard is still missing. No idea if he’s alive or dead…although the hope of finding him alive is dwindling, even if no one will say it out loud. Someone seems to be ahead of the team on every step. They need a break…and soon. I’m enjoying this series and looking forward to each book to see what’s happened to Bullard.

I loved how this time Linny grew up around Bullard's crew and is part of the family via her Uncle Dave and literally everyone knows that Fallon and Linny have feelings for each other but neither have ever acted on them until now. We are kept guessing if the dead body that turns up in front of the compound is just linked to Linny or if those after Bullard and his men is behind it. I loved Linny's determination not only to be there with the guys especially after learning what her stalker was doing but also that she decides to push Fallon to finally admit if he feels the same for her and what he will do about, while I also get why Fallon has been so resistant to showing how he really feels about Linny. While trying to track down the links between everything Linny, Fallon and Quinn come across some weird characters, quiet a few bodies, plenty of danger and heart stopping moments (I will never look at another cast iron frying pan the same again) along with more answers as to who's behind everything and not knowing what the outcome of Dave's trip will be.

Back in his base in Africa, Fallon finds Dave, who is Bullard's right hand man, ready to leave to research some info they have received concerning Bullard's disappearance (after his plane was blown out of the sky). Ok, now I have probably confused a lot of people unless you are familiar with the series which, by the way, is well worth reading! However, Fallon also finds Lindsey, Dave's niece who is visiting here. Fallon has known her for a long time and the only reason he hasn't pursued this interest is he wants to keep peace in the family. So the search goes on with alarms going off without apparent reason, plus someone has been stalking Lindsey, also they found bugs which have been planted and the tension is definitely mounting. With all this, Fallon and Lindsey attempt to make sense of it all while they sort out the feelings between them that have grown despite both trying to ignore the attraction.. Another winner in the Bullard's Battle Series!
The epilogue talks of Quinn and Ryland continuing the search for truth. Very exciting!

Things are heating up at breakneck speed as the search for Bullard continues. This time Fallon and Quinn come home to Africa to continue to look for clues. Dave is on his way out the door which leaves the men alone with Lindsey or Linny as they call her. Fallon has feelings for Linny but doesn't want to. rock the boat out of respect for Dave. However, Linny is all grown up now and finds herself in the middle of trouble that could be related to the people out to destroy Bullard and his crew. The action never lets up as the body count rises.

Ms. Mayer keeps you on the edge of your seat as clues and bodies are found. Each story has given a few clues as to what is going on and the closer the team gets to finding the answers, the more danger they find themselves in. I enjoy this series because the books are linked to one mission, finding Bullard. Ms. Mayer weaves a good story with lots of action with love thrown into the mix. Alpha men and strong women who can save themselves is an ongoing theme in her books. I cannot wait to see what happens next and who is behind this mess.

TW: Brutality, Blood, Death, Murder, Violence

A 3.5 stars read.

This one is a light page-turner suspense romance read.
I really enjoying this series so far. The big mystery behind the attack of Bullard's team and the searching of Bullard are the main story in this series. In this book we're getting closer to find out who did all the attacks but yet it's still far away, it's really frustrating for me sometimes, so thank goodness there's sweet romance and other little mystery that really entertaining.

It's about Fallon and Linny this time, the sparks is already there since they danced around each other since long time ago, so it's a cute romance read with stalker trouble and a group of men with disturbing hobby, yup it's pretty unique and entertaining and it keeps me turning the pages, although I wished there's more to this disturbing mystery, I still enjoyed it nonetheless.

A recommended book for anyone who's looking for a light suspense romance read.

Fallon cares too much about his team, Bullard, Dave, and Dave's niece Linny. He has wanted her forever. He has never deterred from his vow to not encourage her to think there could be anything between them. He simply if he has a flaw cares too much. Linny has other thoughts about it of course. Things come to a head after a stalker winds up dead at the gate of the compound. Things get even more complicated because nothing is as it seems. This is probably the best one yet. It is so convoluted that things seem to be going in circles. Surprises just keep popping up. Where is Bullard? What is happening to the team. Everything is so messed up. The questions keep coming and the pages keep turning to see where and what happens next. I am anxious for the next one in the series. These books are hard to put down.

Fallon and Linny have been circling each other for years, Fallon doesn’t want to jeopardize his career and disrupt everything since Linny is Dave’s niece and has been a constant fixture at the compound in Africa. Linny is all grown up now and finishing up to become a surgeon and now she’s on a break and visiting her Uncle Dave but Dave has to leave and Fallon and Quinn are left behind to guard the compound and Linny. Little do they know that Linny’s stalker is closing in on her when the dead bodies start piling up, and Linny is in the centre of it all.
A good read with suspense, surprises and a bit of steam. I liked these two, no drama or misunderstandings and they already had a friendship that finally went to the next stage. I was a bit confused on Jesse’s involvement, how her stalker fit into it all with all that is going on with Bullard and how someone got the jump on Fallon and Quinn.

Things are hotting up in the mission to find Bullard. Fallon has arrived back in their compound in South Africa only to find their number greatly depleted as the search continues wherever a lead takes them. Only Dave and his niece Lyndsey are there on Fallon's arrival but is quickly followed by Quinn. Dave leaves to check out bodies found at sea, leaving a very short staffed team behind. Things quickly start escalating but they are unsure of how it all connects. Fallon and Lyndsey have always hidden their interest in each other but things start to push them together as they try and make sense of the ongoing situation. A great story that is pushing towards the climax as Quinn and Ryland start to pull the threads together and hopefully solve the mystery surrounding Bullard and the team.

This series is really ramping up. Each can be read as a stand alone but if need be, but you miss out on so much. Bodies pile up as Fallon and Quinn follow the latest info back to Africa. Dave (who has been maintaining the compound) takes off to check out if several bodies could be Bullard. His niece Linny (who is a Dr) is at the compound to visit. It appears that Fallon and Linny have actively avoided each other. The compound has been breached and it a stalker of Linny shows up dead. We are off trying to full the clues and see if this is related to Fallon or is it about Linny? Kudos to Linny for putting on her big girl pants when Fallon couldn't man up. You go girl, and look how awesome that turned out for you. Suspense, mystery, intrigue and one step closer to a resolution. Thank you for the arc! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The search for Bullard continues. Fallon has returned to Africa so Dave can go on a trip to check some stories about men being found in the water. Dave's niece Linny is at the compound in Africa but there is some trouble around her. She met a guy who has turned into a stalker and will not leave her alone. Her uncle Dave has a talk with the guy and tells him to leave Linny alone. While at the compound things start to heat up. Someone is seen walking around who shouldn't be there and a body is left at the gate to the compound. It appears this issue is directed at Linny but with a little searching this may just be another part of the plot against Bullard. As the search for answers continues the body count keeps increasing, will the team be able to stay safe and keep the ones they care about safe at the same time? I love this book, the story and characters.

Bullard's team is continuing to follow the leads to determine who is behind his plane being blown up and whether he is still alive. In this story, Fallon and Quinn have returned to the compound in Africa. They arrive just as Dave, Bullard's right-hand man, is getting ready to leave. Also at the compound is Linny, Dave's niece. Seems it's been obvious to others for years that there is something simmering just below the surface between Fallon and Linny, and she has decided now is the time to do something about it. But then they find that Linny might have a stalker ..... or is it someone who is ultimately after Bullard and his team? There are many creepy moments and lots of suspense as they work through the clues given to them.

Fallon has returned to Africa to follow up on a clue on the downing of Bullard's plane. Now with Dave's niece Linny home for a visit, Fallon will need to protect her from the threat to Bullard's team. With the strong attraction that has existed between Fallon and Linny for years, Linny is tired of waiting on Fallon to make his move and plans to make her own. When a dead body tied to Linny is found at the gate of the compound, Fallon's mission has become more complicated. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. I love that Linny is not only able to take care of herself but becomes involved in hunting down the clues. I also like that Fallon is trying to be honorable. This is another interesting and suspenseful mystery in the series.

Fallon has returned to the compound in Africa to try and gather further intel into the attack against the team where he is reunited with Linny, who is not only the niece of a teammate but a woman he has been denying his attraction to.

Linny is studying to become a doctor however she has drawn the attention of the wrong man. Having him show up at the compound was bad enough but finding out he is deceased creates a lot more questions. Now they must uncover what really happened and why as it appears that the danger Linny is in may only be part of a bigger plan.

Fallon and Linny take us on quite the adventure as they search for the answers they need and Linny is determined to not only stand by her man but claim him as well.

More mystery as Fallon comes home to find security feeds playing up and a possible stalker for Lindsey. With help from Quinn they try to uncover if any of this is linked with the threat to the team and Bullard going missing. This series is on going so new leads get followed up while a few questions pop up, are they moving any closer to finding out the whodunit? I'm not sure but this was a fast paced read with plenty going on. It appears most things are connected if only to throw curve balls in the teams way and keep them on edge. At least the single guys are finding love on the way. Started 15/7/21 Finished 17/7/21

Fallon and Quinn return to home base in South Africa while continue to follow leads to find the people responsible for bringing Bullard's plane down. Upon arriving they find Dave, who runs the compound leaving to follow a tip he received about Bullard. This would have left his niece Linny alone if the guys had not shown up. They find out that Linny has a stalker so they investigate that while there. This puts a bit of a damper into Linny's plans to fuinally confront Fallon about the attraction between them that Fallon has been avoiding for years.

Fallon and Quinn fly home to Africa to Bullard's compound and their home base. They are running out of clues as to Bullard's status; is he alive or dead and where is he. They arrive at the compound as Dave, Bullard's right hand man, is flying out to ID some dead bodies washed up on shore. Dave's niece, Lindsey, will be all alone if Fallon & Quinn don't stay. BTW she is 29 years old and 4 months short of being certified as a General Surgeon.

When Dave leaves all hell breaks loose and dead bodies start piling up. Is this related to Lindsay's stalker or Bullard's disappearance? Great series, even better author and superb characters

I loved every minute of this book that immediately grabbed me and pulled me right into the middle of all that was happening as Fallon and Quinn go back to Africa trying to get another step closer to who attacked their leader with complex characters and a great action-packed mystery that quickly became page-turner, keeping on the edge of my seat and unable to put the book down until I read the last word. I loved the undeniable attraction and chemistry between Fallon and Linney and was rooting for this couple. I received an advance reader copy of "Fallon's Flaw" from Booksrout and am voluntarily leaving my review.

This was a very interesting book. Team Bullard are still searching for answers. Meanwhile, Dave's niece is at the compound and suddenly a stalker is in the shadows. Then a corpse in front of the property. And the team is unravelling the clues. It is a page turner, a romance filled with possibilities, and events so very unpredictable. Strong men and a stronger woman. Pictures and offbeat characters and bullets, oh, my. Another great tale from Dale Mayer.

As the team gets closer to solving who is after them Dave's neice comes under attack at the compound in Africa. Lindsey is a doctor and has been visiting Dave. Her and Fallon have danced around their attraction for years. He is afraid to take the next step because he does not want to mess the family dynamics up, but she knows what she wants. The plot thickens as those after the team intensify their mission to take them down. It's a weird and wild ride that gives some answers and muddies the water a little more in others. Great read. I volunteered to read this book via Booksprout.
