I seek books on sleep to understand my disorder better, unfortunately this one covered Insomnia more than the other sleep disorders. Nevertheless, I read some things I didn’t know previously, which was great.

4 stars! Not sure why Goodreads only gives the option of one star for this book.

I took this out of the library. The surprising thing she says is to stop worrying about sleeping. You can do almost anything on lack of sleep, she says. The reason she says that is that she believes that fear of insomnia is part of the lack of sleep epidemic. After looking at the history of sleep, and the reasons behind sleep disturbance, she gives suggestions for how to get back to a regular sleep cycle, that are divided into what you can do during waking hours, during bed time, and during sleeping to keep getting back to a regular sleep cycle - gradually though. There are no fast answers in this book, but a lot of help. It is well organized and illustrated and easy to digest. Worth a read. I would even buy this one and keep it around to consult.
