'House of Artifice' details the history of the technologically advanced House Van Saar before moving on to the rules needed to use their gangs on the tabletop. The lore section of the book is very interesting and well written, taking the background of the House Van Saar back to a crashed voidship from the Dark Age of Technology right up to the dying days of the 41st Millennium. This section also includes information on the structure, industry, settlements, and famous gangs of the House of Artifice, all of which is very interesting for people who are interested in the lore of Necromunda, and the wider Warhammer 40,000 setting.

The rules section of the book is the same as in the previous House books, with rules for gang fighters, Hired Gus, Dramatis Persona, alliances, and the like. While many of the generic rules are copied from elsewhere, the Van Saar specific rules seem to be quite good.

This is how I wanted Necromunda to be from the start. Each house distinct with elaborate backgrounds and differences straight off the bat. I never played a house gang really until now (started with Redemptionists), but now I think I shall.
