A series of brutal murders shatters the safety of the rural communities along the shores of Table Rock Lake. Attacks that investigators find eerily familiar. Newly elected Sheriff Amanda Sanchez-Clark finds herself once more on the trail of a large, bipedal, hairy hominid that is targeting the citizens of Sloan County, Missouri.
Unable to stop the attacks with the limited resources of a small understaffed department, she calls on the one person she knows that can help, her husband Major Daniel Clark. Even with the resources of the Wild Hunt, finding and stopping the creature proves to be a difficult task.
From the shores of Table Rock Lake to the streets of one of the Midwest’s most beloved theme parks, Silver Dollar City, the creature kills with impunity. Headlines read, “Lakeview Man Returns.” Can they stop the creature’s rampage, or will they too fall victim to the Lakeview Man?

Love this author! I particularly loved this book as it continues the story of some of my favorite characters and creatures. If you like all things bigfoot and the horror that comes from interacting with humans, you will like this series. I could go on and on about this book but I don't want to spoil anything. It reeled me in from page one and I hope there will be another book coming soon.
Due to other projects going on, I took a break from reading after exceeding my goal last year. Goodreads says I'm two books behind for this year but that is alright, I know I will catch up in no time.
This is the second book in the "Lakeview Man" series and I have to say, I think I liked as well or better than the first one. I really enjoyed the creatures and how intelligent they were. The characters were well thought out and a few of them even surprised me.
The husband/wife duo get through this one virtually uninjured which is a nice change of pace. One of my complaints about series is how the main characters suffer life-threatening injuries in every book. It gets old fast. When I focused more on murder/mysteries, one series I read had the main character get stabbed, shot, kidnapped, or badly beaten in every book in the series. She must not have been very good at her job.
I really enjoyed reading this and hope that the next one is as good. If I had to come up with one "ehh" of the book, it would be that Amanda, a sheriff with no military experience, was just as tough or tougher than special servicemen with years of diverse training. Just seemed a bit far-fetched.
Fantastic!I read this book out of sequence. I could not pull it up when I finished the first book. I still enjoyed every minute of this book. The series was awesome. Full of action from the beginning to the end. One of the best series I have ever read. The continuity was perfect. I had trouble sleeping after reading each book. Too pumped up from the never ending action of each book! The author deserves all the awards he has been given for his books. Really deserves more.
Great book with fantastic action and realistic sequences. this is my first DA Robert's book that was not centralized around wolves. It's awesome and I'm excited for the other books. I'd only ask that a chart with the chronological order of the books be added to the first one so that people can get the entire picture from the beginning. I missed a few.
What a wild ride this installment was!! I was unable to stop reading until the very end. Imagine fighting a large group of Bigfoot who are just as intelligent and as cunning as a human and can crush a human”s skull with one hand! Tithe book will grab you and keep you spellbound until all the creatures have been disposed of.
Sheriff Amanda Sanchez Clark is facing a series of deaths that's very familiar. Not the Gugwe this time but a bunch of Bigfoot. She calls reinforcements to help take care of the problem her husband's Wild Hunt team.
I believe DA Roberts has some Stephen King Vibes! Creative Bigfoot! I think this series would be an awesome movie with Dwayne Johnson playing Clark! I'm on to the next book. Seriously, read this series!! Thanks DA!
D.A. Roberts does it again and again. He takes a story and makes a epic out of it. Yes , i know that it is not 1000 pages long but he crams more into one of his books than some writers cram into a ten book series. I love his books and will buy his books everytime..
Awesome book! So far a love all the books of D.A. Roberts I have read. Love they are set in my home state of Missouri. Love the story line and the characters! Hoping so many more of these books to come!!! A OUTSTANDING READ!!!
Yes, the Clark's are back with a vengeance. Like the story and the characters. Daniel Clark came to help his hardheaded wife Amanda with a new group of Bigfoot.
All the gang are there to help and keep the County safe. Recommended
Love these books, easy and action packed read with caracters you will cheers for and hope survive their encounters with strange creatures out of myths and legends
I really enjoy how D.A. Roberts includes many of his characters from all of his books into these stories. I wasn’t expecting Amanda Clark to be a big part of this one. That made the story so much more awesome.
I really enjoyed this second book — fast-paced and gory, just the way I like it. I hope the author writes one about vampires or werewolves in the future (or any other creatures… maybe even aliens!). I totally recommend it to anyone who likes horror.
I like his stuff so much, I'm dreading running out of stories to read. Do yourself a favour and just buy all his stuff at once. Trust me, you won't regret it.
