What does someone say to describe themselves? You could start with giving what others say about you. Scratch that. It doesn't really matter what others think about you. It matters what you think of yourself. So here we go.

First of all, I'm a wife and mother. I'm also a new grandmother. That alone would fulfil any woman's life. To be honest it does. But.....

I'm also a writer. Someone who loves to tell stories of love, suspense, heartache and of course happily ever after. For most of my life, I've written those stories for myself. A type of therapy, I suppose. I love the characters I create. They become part of who I am because there's part of me in them.

So.... Now that you know this about me. I hope when you read my books, you fall in love with them.

You should also know that I'm a Newfoundlander. What is that you ask? Well we're a proud people who live on an island, off the east coast of Canada. Some people believe Canada ends with Nova Scotia. It doesn't. If you keep going east, there is a beautiful island full of amazing people and magnificent scenery. That is where my stories are set because let’s face it. The best stories always come from the places you know and love.

If there is anything else you would like to know about me. Ask me!

This is book two in the NES Series. You will still see some characters from the first book but we focus on Bruce "Hulk" in this story and the beautiful Caroline who catches his attention at first glance.

Hulk has longed for the can't live without you connection with a woman and the right one just hasn't been there in the past, so he has keep to himself for the most part. But there is something about the beautiful waitress that catches his eye. Being the kind hearted soul that he is, he reaches out to help when he realizes that she is working late hours and missing out on her children. Friending her and her boys.

Caroline has dreams, she's not sure she will ever see those dreams come to light but she wants to have her own sweet shop and to be able to bake for everyone. Finding herself as a single mom makes those dreams seem even further away. She is not afraid of hard work and is willing to do everything it takes to look after her family. When her father disappears and things start to get strange, she begins to worry for everyone's safety. Maybe there is some truth to her recurring nightmare, will they find out the truth?

This story brings slow burn to a new light as this story goes over many years. Hulk holding back for the fear of loosing them all. But when he finds himself protecting her and her family from danger, things start to progress quickly. The secrets from 30 years ago will keep you on your toes, turning pages to discover the truth. Will this bring them closer together? Will Caroline's nightmares turn to fantasy dreams?

Hulk & Caroline

Talk about holding back! He saw her in a restaurant and was awestruck. But she was a mother. It took a while before he found out she was a SINGLE mother. He loved her kids and they became friends. He was afraid to spoil that relationship by letting her know how he really felt.

When it seemed there could be danger for her he pushed to protect her. Would their forced time together push them out of that restricting friend zone?

Their growing relationship took a long time. It was sweet, the boys loved Hulk and he felt the same about the whole family. Along with the romance is an ongoing mystery involving her father and his friends. The secrets evolve but are not easy to unravel. Steam, great characters, and story. There are a lot of characters that obviously were introduced in the first book. I didn't read it but had no problem enjoying this one and recommend the book. I am going back and read book one as well. I recommend.

Hulk and Caroline's story is one that goes through quite a few years along their journey. While the dangers that are faced during the story stay true Ms. Brewer's writing ways their story still sent off a different vibe from the previous books in this interconnected series. I still very much enjoyed the murder and mayhem.. I just couldn't put my finger on what the difference was. All our familiar friends and family are with Caroline and Hulk along with some new characters to love or hate. Overall another Wonderful addition to NES series 4/5 Cross posting to My Reading Reality, GoodReads and book bub

Rhonda Brewer is a new to me author, and I'm so glad that she's finally on my radar as I LOVED Risky Memories. Normally, I'm not about the slow burn romance, and this story had it in spades since it spanned some years which had me frustrated like nobody's business, but there was just something about it that was impossible to put down. Hulk wants to have that person in his life but since he hasn't found it yet, he pretty much keeps to himself. However, there's a pretty waitress who has caught his eye, but she's a single mother with very limited time on her hands so he decides to befriend her & her kids. When something happens with Caroline's father, he's the one who has stepped up to help her so now there's an edge of your seat element with twists coming in hot, and nightmares a plenty. So yeah, I couldn't get enough of this story even when I wanted to throw the kindle in frustration. To find out how it all pans out, well, you'll have to hit those one click buttons! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Risky Memories is book #2 in NES series. I was drawn into the story from the start, and even though it was slow moving between Hulk and Caroline, it just felt right. Caroline struggles to keep her family afloat, and her children always come first. Overtime in the background Hulk and her developed a lasting friendship that developed to more. They were eachothers rocks, and Bruce (Hulk) is the sweetest man. The way he was with her kids is swoon worthy. I like how the secondary characters are in eachothers books. Their banter made me laugh.
This is the first story I have read of this authors, and I liked the way she told the story, and the characters too. I will definitely be looking into more of her stories to read.

I can keep this review very short. Everything is perfect.
On the point. I was very impressed with Hulk waiting for Caroline over the years. And also that he always stands by her side.
Hach yes , sigh, a perfect man. But I allow Caroline eveything, she has always worked hard and is a good mother to her children. She takes care of everyone she likes and especially her father, with him, she has a caring relationship, but she is also uncomfortable, because he has some problems that turn her life upside down.
The proportion of suspense story to love story is perfectly matching and the book is never boring . A great story for everyone who like Romantic Suspense.
Absolutely recommendable.
