Molly Why, Santa, why? I’ve been so good this year and yet here I am, snowed in with the most grumpy, gloomy – and admittedly, gorgeous – man I’ve ever met. Instead of blissfully sledding down an Alaskan mountain during my work trip, I have to listen to the guy complain about how much he hates Christmas. Not to mention the fact that he’s in the running for the same writing award as me. Too bad throwing someone out into the snow isn’t considered very Christmassy or it would’ve been good riddance for sure.
Derek Carolers, gingerbread, hot cocoa, tinsel, mistletoe… The list of Christmas torture goes on and on. And as if it’s not bad enough that I have to endure this holiday cheer for a work trip, I’m now stuck at The Royal Reindeer with a true Christmas freak. I’d love for her to back off, but I can’t exactly tell her why I hate the holidays this much. My best bet is to avoid her altogether, which is quite the challenge when you’re forced to share a cabin.
But if I don’t want to be around her, then why am I doused in glitter, helping her make Christmas cards?
This was the perfect Christmas escape read for me right now. It was a fun, entertaining read that I devoured, allowing me to forget about the stress of the holidays, and the world, for a little bit.
Molly and Derek find themselves thrown together for a work situation and they definitely rub each other the wrong way. Their feelings about Christmas are as different as night and day. To be honest, I pretty much knew where this story was going to end up but getting there was so much fun! As much as I enjoyed watching the conflict—and the chemistry—between Molly and Derek, this story also has some amazing side characters that I fell in love with. So much fun!
I've read other stories by Sophie-Leigh and they are always such a treat—captivating, light reads that always leave me with a smile on my face. Snowed in With You is the perfect book to satisfy your pre-Christmas reading craving. Pick it up now!
Another cute and cozy romance in the books! A strangers/enemies to lovers story - I just fell in love with this couple! It’s fun, snowy, and exciting.
Derek, a Christmas-hating Scrooge, and Molly, who is Christmas obsessed, are both travel writers and are competing for the Travel Writer of the Year Award! They meet in a taxi on the way to The Royal Reindeer Resort in Alaska were they are to interview the billionaire owner of the hotel for an article. Derek comes off as rude, ignorant and in bad spirits and Molly just can’t understand why he dislikes Christmas so much.
As the story continues, Derek and Molly end up getting stuck with each other - in the same hotel room! Oh what fun! *eye roll* ...but eventually the chemistry grows between the two and attitudes begin to change... and what you thought would never change for Derek, does.
Molly Parks arrives in Alaska for work reasons. She never expects to run into a real life Grinch who hates Christmas. Now she’s snowed in with him and has to listen to his non-stop complaints about the holiday. It doesn’t help that he’s her main competition for a writing award.
Derek Sloane wants to do his job at The Royal Reindeer resort in Alaska and then go home. He wants nothing to do with Christmas, but he finds himself stuck in the same cabin with a Christmas fan. It’s not just the holiday that Derek doesn’t like, but there are personal reasons that he wants to escape all the Christmas celebrations.
I always enjoy a snowed in story especially around Christmas time. This is no exception. It’s filled with emotion and realistic characters. It’s a heartwarming tale of a tortured hero and a heroine who wants to understand the story behind the man.
There are moments that will touch your heart. They will make you smile as well as bring tears to your eyes. This author has the talent to bring all of these feelings to each page.
This is the perfect, delightful book to leave you with that “feel good” feeling.

A delightfully funny and sweet romance. The setting of the hotel in Alaska with gorgeous private cabins in the town of Tinsel Falls was just perfect escapism. If I hadn’t needed to spend the time while my kids were at school wrapping, I wouldn’t finished it in 24hrs I’m sure because it was such a lovely story to disappear into. Full of festive cheer and great characters.
I wasn't sure how I felt about the characters at first. The book started out from the perspective of the leading man, Derek, who complains about everything having to do with Christmas. He absolutely hates everything Christmas related. Our leading lady, however, loves Christmas and embraces the holiday fully. She makes friends with almost everyone she talks to, unlike Derek who avoids people as much as possible. He is described as grumpy and a Scrooge, both of which fit him perfectly. As the story goes on, our main characters are thrown together in a twist of events caused by a horrible snow storm, we also come to realize that there is more to Mr. Scrooge than we previously thought. Molly, trying to be friendly and get to know the man she is now stuck with, asks questions and tries to be understanding, but Derek won't be as open as she would like. Eventually she gets the truth from him, the reason why he hates the holidays so much, and the grief that goes with it. He never truly healed from his loss and it shows. Will he allow himself to love someone, even at the risk of heartbreak? Will Molly forgive Derek for the ways he has been acting?
Sprinkled in this sweet holiday romance are some characters that are quirky and add a humorous tone to the whole story. I found myself laughing out loud at some of their antics. These characters feel real, they have sassy moments, they make mistakes, they act unreasonable at times and even out of character. I would really love to explore these characters more, all of them, not just the mains.
While this story was a fast read, it delivered just the right mix of Christmas scenes and holiday spirit to leave me satisfied. I went into this book expecting it to be similar to a Hallmark movie. It delivered on that, but it had an added humor to it that I wasn't expecting. I was entranced, surrounded by the story, much the same as what I do when I'm watching a Hallmark movie. It had a lighthearted atmosphere, easy to read, and comfortable enough to relax and enjoy without much thought. I cared about how the story was going to end and kept reading because I had to find out. I think we all know that it does have a happily ever after, what Christmas story doesn't? But the road to reaching it is where the story lies. I wish this book had a little bit more to the story, a few more pages or chapters. I want to read as much as I possibly can with these characters.
I'm grateful that the author provided me an ARC of this book to read and review. I enjoyed the book so much and am willingly leaving this review.
Living in southern Arizona, we don’t have really bad weather in the winter, well at least not compared to rural Alaska! This book was a fun read despite the protagonists having the harrowing ordeal of being snowed in at a luxury resort with a competitor for a prestigious title for their jobs. Molly and Derek each want the coveted title of Top Travel Writer of the Year, but only one can have it, but both are willing to do what it takes right?!
Molly is an easy-going, fun woman who loves everything Christmas has to offer so apart from being snowed in with a grump, she seems determined to make the best of things! Derek is a moody, Christmas cynic who might just have more than meets the eye, but his gruff exterior is going to prove to be anything but fun to deal with! Molly even told him that she was going to restore his Christmas spirit if it was the last thing she does before leaving the resort! The pair encounter two couples, one is on the older side hoping for their second chance at love and the other are newlyweds! This pair of strangers has met their match in terms of opposites and the craziness that ensues is perfect! While we learn the source of Derek’s surliness, I just remain optimistic he can get through it as it’s never fun having to deal with heavy feelings around a holiday!
This book gives you all the cheers and chills of the season! From the unexpected pit stop at the beginning of the book, to the cozy fires roaring, to the ever snow constantly falling! I feel like with a trope of forced proximity, it causes heightened emotions and Sophie delivered that and then some! As much as Derek was surprised to not totally hate Tinsel Falls or the Royal Reindeer Resort, I’m not surprised how much I enjoyed this story! The banter between the characters was second to none and genuine emotional rollercoaster of the resort staff was palpable! It was nice to have a wintery escape, even if it was only in my reading!
I laughed SO hard reading this book! True comedy in this RomCom. And the grump, OHHHHH the grump! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again that I adore grumps, but man was this guy perfection!
Journalists Derek Sloane and Molly Parks are both enroute to Tinsel Falls, Alaska where they are sent to cover the opening of the Royal Reindeer luxury resort during the Christmas season. Both Derek and Molly have been shortlisted for Travel Writer of the Year. The most opposite of a meetcute occurs as they’re getting off their plane. It only takes one single airplane ride in your entire life to know the reality and chaos that unloading can bring and if you have a grumpy passenger on board – look out! Lol At the time of their first high tension run in, they don’t even realize that they’re each other’s competition for the writing assignment.
This story includes one of my all-time favorite things…snowed in by a storm and cozy cabin vibes. I literally can’t get enough of this plot. What I wasn’t expecting was conversations of “yellow snow”. As I said, there was non-stop laughter in this read! There was something extra special about the dialogue in this book that made all the witty banter, grumpiness and sarcasm seem incredibly realistic. It was so easy to vividly see each of these characters in my mind. You fall in love with them all so fast.
Derek isn’t the only person Molly meets on the plane ride. She also befriends Barbara, a spunky senior with a Renaissance Fair obsession. Barbara is heading to the Royal Reindeer to meet up with her secret boyfriend, Winston. These two completely stole my heart.
At only 223 pages, you can finish this read in a single day. And believe me that once you start, you aren’t going to want to put it down anyway. There’s young love, senior love, budding friendships and of course budding romance. A lot of belly laughs, but this book also touches on tough topics such as grief. Such a wonderful 5-Star read! I look forward to discovering more from this author.
Derek is a travel writer and not at all a fan of Christmas because of a past tragedy, who is traveling to a resort in Alaska to hopefully write an article about the resort’s reclusive owner. Molly loves everything Christmas and is also traveling to the resort in Alaska to write a story. They have an unfortunate run in at the airport and because of a snowstorm they are forced to share a room with only 1 bed and Derek got the wrong suitcase at the airport so he has no clothes. Derek is handsome but sarcastic and Molly is cute and feisty and they finally start to become friends til they fight and Derek leaves. Can Derek and Molly overcome their differences and find happiness together? Can Derek learn to live with his loss and find joy during the holidays?
I give this cute, wholesome story 4.5 stars. The author portrays Derek as a grumpy Christmas hater but we learn why he hates Christmas and has never dealt with his feelings of loss. Molly is festive and cheerful and tries to help Derek find joy during the holidays when they are snowed in at the resort. The epilogue was a great ending for their story. I received an ARC from the author and I am voluntarily leaving this review.
What a sweet, charming, and fun holiday romance! Molly and Derek are snowed in together at an Alaskan resort. Both are reporters and on assignment trying to get an interview with the owner, while competing against each other for the Travel Writer of the Year award. They couldn't be more opposite in character which made their stay together quite interesting. Molly is enthusiastic and fun and absolutely loves Christmas, and Derek - well, he hates it. Despite their differences, they couldn't stop the strong chemistry and attraction between them. There were so many humorous moments I couldn't stop smiling! The author did such a great job of describing the resort and the different events, I felt like I was right there with them! Fun, sweet, and romantic- the perfect book to snuggle up with a nice comfy blanket and a hot cup of cocoa! Definitely recommend!
I was gifted an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I discovered this book in my Kindle store and immediately fell in love with the cover art. I am a sucker for a “snowed inn”/ forced proximity storyline. Sadly, this one was just ok. It was a cute and fun, fast read with a cast of quirky characters but the dialogue was very immature and unbelievable.
The two main characters are a classic “he’s grumpy x she’s sunshine” duo but the way they argue when they first meet is just super unrealistic. He makes fun of her/judges her for eating a candy cane, as if this is the straw that broke the camels back of how much Christmas spirit she has and he can’t take it. That is just one small example but the dialogue felt like the author was trying too hard to push that trope vs. letting it feel a little more natural. With that said, it was a cute premise and I breezed through it.
Rating: 2.8 Content: Kissing Only 💋 Tropes: Forced Proximity, Grumpy/Sunshine, Enemies to Lovers
Summary: Molly and Derek are rival writers who get stuck together during the holidays. I loved their grumpy/sunshine tension on top of their rivalry.
Stars: 4/5 Spice: 0/5 (Sweet)
Molly and Derek are rival writers who meet by happenstance at the airport, where the tension begins right away. They end up getting stuck together during the holidays, along with a few other entertaining characters. I love a good grumpy/sunshine story, and Sophie-Leigh delivered with this one. If you enjoy grumpy/sunshine, one bed, rivals-to-lovers stories that bring the emotional moments as much as the funny ones, give this book a try!
I absolutely loved this Christmas romcom! It was perfect for the holidays! I read the whole thing in one day! Couldn’t put it down! I loved Molly and her outgoing sunshine personality! I relate to her by being a huge lover of Christmas! I can understand where Derek comes from though. He’s lost his sister and now the holidays are just a reminder for him of what he’s lost. Molly brings him out of his grief and makes him smile and laugh again. Finally able to enjoy the holidays and fall in love. It’s magical & funny! Highly recommend!
Molly was a travel writer for a local travel magazine. Derek was a travel writer for an online travel magazine. Both of them were vying for the Travel Writer of the Year award. They were sent to The Royal Reindeer Resort in Alaska by their respective magazines to get an interview with the billionaire owner and write an article about the resort. Molly loved Christmas, and Derek hated everything about it. Needless to say, they had a very different opinion about the festivities at the resort.
Two reporters on assignment end up snowed in with each. Molly loves Christmas and Derek hates it. These two are definitely opposites but boy do the sparks fly. Great descriptions of the Inn and activities the guests participate in. Loved the side characters YOO HOO. Grand gesture near the end was so very sweet and romantic. Awesome ending ending.
I liked the idea of this book, the characters, and the silly moments thrown in. I think the Reindeer Resort is somewhere I wish was near me to visit. I loved how he took the bowl of pinecones to the cabin even though he didn't want them but did it because the girl kept suggesting it to make the snowed in situation better.
I had such a high hopes for this book. Unfortunately, it was a big disappointment. The writing was worse than amateur, and the characterizations were baffling and uneven. Nothing made sense. Dialogue was forced and awkward. Who says, "shall we?" A dozen times in a day? It was just weird. Do not recommend.
This is a very sweet romantic story with some really great, humourous moments scattered throughout. It reminded me a lot of a Hallmark Christmas TV romance movie. Some fun, colourful characters add to the enjoyment as well.
I loved Snowed in With You. This is a wonderful, sweet Christmas romance. It is fun and entertaining. I love the snowy resort setting. The characters interesting and have great chemistry. I really enjoyed this book.
Cute, charming, and a perfect quick read for the holidays
Sophie-Leigh Robbins hits it again with a feel-good, grumpy-sunshine Christmas rom-com. Its adorable, its sweet, and it has a fast-paced plot that you'll blow right through.
Grief can overcome people so much that they make some decisions to regret, and Derek is no longer exception. Feel good when he makes his epiphany and opens his heart to Molly. Such a great story!
Super cute snowed in, opposites attract, grumpy sunshine❄️. Derek is dealing with grief surrounding the holiday and I loved how understanding Molly was of him. Adorable Christmas town setting. Such a stunning cover too!
Love this cute book. It was easy to connect with Molly and Derek. As they got to know each other it was nice to see them grow. A clean romance and a holiday treat.
This was disappointing. The premise was cute, but was not executed well in my opinion. I just couldn’t get into it and felt there was no chemistry between the characters.
