Kelsey Webb is a 19-year old from Enumclaw, Washington. She discovered her passion of writing during her freshman year of high school and has been writing in her free time ever since. Webb is the Assistant Coordinator for the Unknown Poets Society, and performs her poetry at open mics monthly.
She finds her inspiration from Phil Kaye, Patrick Roche, and Rupi Kaur, all of which are role models that have contributed to the boldness of Webb's work. Webb has partnered with a multitude of illustrators from around the world to add their personal touch to her first book, Sapling, in hopes that their artwork gets noticed by a large audience.
Aside from writing, Webb is working on completing a degree in Environmental Studies in hopes of getting a job in which she can reduce the amount of plastic pollution in our oceans.
I really enjoyed reading this book. It expressed great amounts of vulnerability with topics that I could relate to. Each poem was explained well and I learned so much about poetry. The exercises were very fun to do and the artwork was so beautiful. I recommend reading this book.
