"Δε θέλω να τσακώνομαι μαζί σου Ρόουζ. Δε μου άρεσε όσο είμαστε παντρεμένοι και δεν μου αρέσει ούτε και τώρα. Γι' αυτό θέλω, στο διάστημα που θα μείνουμε εδώ, να προσπαθήσουμε να τα ξαναβρούμε"
Έξι μήνες μετά το γάμο τους, ακριβώς ένα χρόνο πριν, η Ρόουζ είχε εγκαταλείψει τον Εντουάρ επειδή η καριέρα της ερχόταν σε σύγκρουση με το ρόλο και τα καθήκοντα της συζύγου, όπως τουλάχιστον τα εννοούσε εκείνος. Τώρα ο Εντουάρ της έδινε μια δεύτερη ευκαιρία και η Ρόουζ που τον αγαπούσε ακόμα, αποφάσισε να την εκμεταλλευτεί. Αλλά δεν ήταν καθόλου σίγουρη για τα δικά του κίνητρα. Ήταν άραγε ο έρωτας που ένιωθε κάποτε γι' αυτήν ή τα χρήματα που θα έχανε αν έπαιρναν διαζύγιο;
Natalie Fox was born and educated in London. She's had many interesting careers, including working in a casino as a roulette croupier and working for a Soho coffee bar, for which she delivered sandwiches by scooter in the West End. Although she did not start writing until after her fortieth birthday, Natalie says she's "always been a romantic at heart." Natalie and her husband now live in Spain.
This book was ok. I liked the characters and the plot but I couldn't really get 'into' it. Most of the book was emotional anguish and I got a little bit of a headache reading it. I just wanted the smack the characters then put them in a room to get everything out. I understood the doubts and insecurity from both sides but the whole thing was aggravating and I was very relieved and exasperated by the end. I don't think I'll read this again and it wouldn't be on my shelf. There were some good parts but the aggravation of reading this outweigh them because I like to escape into books and not try to get thru them. Good luck
This book has nothing to recommend itself, the main character Roz is full of insecurities and jealousy she is hysterical for most of the book, lashing out with a need to hurt her husband. One of the reasons she actually broke her marriage up was because her husband wouldn't fight with her so she could score points. This is not a romance story its full of anguish and a disturbing emotional heroine actually i was surprised the author was female as honestly the way it reads as if the husband is totally in the right and the wife creates a violate atmosphere because she doesn't think his life revolves around her.
