Temperance Dawn writes hauntingly, beautiful stories that combine her love of romance with the paranormal world. She writes strong characters who overcome fear and encounter the spiritual unknown. Most of her books center around ghosts and hauntings, but she enjoys dabbling with tales of Vampires too!
She loves all things both dark and gothic, and feminine and frilly. Can you say afternoon tea, followed by a cemetery stroll?
Temperance is a wife and mom to two rambunctious, beautiful kids. She recently moved across the country with her family and is enjoying her new life in the southern United States.
I went into this read completely blind, which is my absolutely favourite way to read PNR. And was it ever WORTH IT!!!
Calming His Wildfire is a part of a series, but you definitely do not need to read book one to enjoy this book -- it can stand on its own!
The passion between Lexi and Trey is palpable and several times I wanted to shake them and tell them to just DO SOMETHING ALREADY. Which isn't that the best kind of burn? Temperance has a beautiful way with words, and her description of the story flowed wonderfully.
As for the PNR aspect... I'm leaving that up to you to find out. I'm telling you, go into it blind. But just know that once you start, you'll be frantically turning pages to figure out what will happen next!
An absolutely amazing story that will keep you enraptured until the end! I did not want to put this story down. It is full of twists and turns to keep you guessing, a budding romance that makes your heart sing, and that steam! Whoo!! I will most definitely be coming back to read more from this author. She really knows how to write a twisted ghost story that will keep you on your toes!
Read reviews after because PNR is best enjoyed with no prior knowledge. This is your warning!! You will not be disappointed with this one. Promise. Temperance crafts a beautiful story and builds love that keeps you wanting more in the best way. Little touches here, glances there. I just loved it. The story grabs your attention immediately and doesn't stop.
We meet Lexi and trey who have known eachother for some time. They have mutual feelings that are waiting to be set free. Trey is intelligent, sweet, and protective of his girl. Lexi is strong, independent and literally haunted by something dark, linked to the blood that runs in her veins. I loved their connection. I loved diving into a world I know little about that kept me on the edge of my seat and wanting Trey to save poor Lexi. Their connection was hot, real, and so obviously intertwined. Get ready for a sweet, sexy slow burn that ticks all the boxes.
Temperance Dawn’s second book in her ‘Spirit Hunters’ series has certainly made the spirits raise the ratings. Her books just keep getting more suspenseful and exciting than the one before. Trey and Lexi, the main characters, have had eyes for each other for the past six months. Unfortunately, Lexi’s last relationship ended so badly, she refuses to get involved with anyone ever again. One day while she was taking a walk, she came upon an abandoned cottage and inside found a locket that seemed to attach itself to her with a pulsating red glow. It frightened her so much she reached out to Trey for help. This story is exciting, mysterious, suspenseful, romantic adventure that is so riveting I couldn’t put it down until the very last page. Highly recommended and definitely a MUST read!
Lexi has found herself with a vicious spirit attached to her after she stumbles across a burned cabin. With no idea on what to do, she turns to the only person she knows can help. Trey has been a paranormal investigator for a while, and his connection with Lexi only makes this case even more important. He needs to not only get this ominous spirit away from her, but also break down the walls she's built for herself.
The plot was pretty good, and I enjoyed the back story of the ghost haunting Lexi. That portion of the book was the most interesting, because there was love, betrayal, revenge and murder all tied together. I want a book based on that story and get more in depth with those characters.
Lexi and Trey's story is sweet, but it was a little bland. There wasn't much to their story, other than the normal breaking down barriers from a previous relationships trauma. I would've liked to see more to their story, because their relationship was slow and didn't add any excitement.
Wow !!! They just keep getting better and better :-) . It’s so hard to put this book down, it’s a mystery, entertaining and a must read!!! I won’t lie I was not really into these types of books! But this author totally changed my mind! This is a must read. I can’t wait to read more . Such a good book :-)
Haunting Lexi begins almost immediately after the events of Haunting Emily. This story is scarier than its predecessor and more in tune with the horror of a haunted ground with an inn and winery.
I made the mistake of reading this book at night and spent many hours without sleep. It gave me a headache and a muscle ache in my neck. I do not regret it. Temperance Dawn has stepped up the activity as she brings a vengeful ghost for revenge.
The addition of the various witch stories and people in the story was very interesting. I especially liked Helene and Ella. I also like the mention of psychics and bloodlines. History interests me greatly all the time.
If you like romance with a nerve-chilling dose of horror, you need to read Haunting Lexi by Temperance Dawn.
I can’t remember the last time I read a ghost story, but I’m so glad I read this one!
I appreciated how the characters grew on their journey toward their happily ever after. Lexi was relatable and Trey was a dream guy, so patient and caring.
The spooky elements were just that, with different layers that kept me invested and needing to know what happened next. The ending was satisfying and everything I wanted.
I really enjoyed this book and I’d recommend it to anyone wanting a ghostly good read.
Guarded hearts and vengeful spirits [image error] Genre: Paranormal romance POV: 3rd person with alternating perspectives, past tense Heat gauge: 🔥 🔥 🔥 (3/5)
The Spirit Hunters series continues with Trey and Lexi’s story. Trey is part of Liam’s team of paranormal investigators, and he fell for Lexi when they first met in Book 1. Lexi feels drawn to Trey; unable to deny the chemistry they have but unwilling to lower her guard after her last disastrous relationship. When she takes a walk in the woods surrounding her workplace, she discovers a strange necklace and unwittingly brings the cursed pendant back with her. Weird things start to happen as a vengeful spirit makes its presence known. Lexi must learn to trust again, to let Trey get close if she has any hope of surviving the ordeal that follows.
This was an interesting story with some great characters, although I feel it could have used a little more editing. I do struggle with lots of word repetition, something this book suffers from. The ghostly encounters were not as spooky in this book as they were in the first, but they were still fascinating to read about. There were more bedroom scenes too, but they fit well with the characters, both of whom were more experienced in that department.
I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys romance with a paranormal twist.
If you like supernatural you’ll like this more! A gripping story that holds your attention with many surprises along the way! Trey and his friends are spirit hunters who fight evil spirits. While Trey falls for Lexi, their romance adds spice and fire to this truly amazing story. I loved the group of friends Lexi had and the spirit hunters connection with each other. This was a thriller that didn’t disappoint! I was surprised through many curves in Calming His Fire! From the first paragraph, I was intrigued and couldn’t put this book down! Temperance Dawn wrote a paranormal romance novel like no other I’ve read! I can’t wait to get more of her novels! All I can sum it up as is WOW! 💕
I loved the paranormal adventure in this story! It starts off with Lexi drawn into the woods at a property she manages. She stumbles into a structure that seems normal on the outside, but burned within. In the rubble and ash, she finds a necklace which carries a frightening entity. Fortunately, she’s friends with a group of paranormal investigators and soon they are all trying to get to the bottom of what is trying to harm Lexi. Trey, one of the investigators, very quickly comes to her aid and while staying with her (initially for her protection) declares his love. Hesitantly she reciprocates and what follows is a hot romance that permeates the mystery surrounding the diabolical haunting.
Calming His Wildfire is a refreshing read. Its my first book by Temperance Dawn, despite it being the second in her Spirit Hunter series. It tells the story of Trey and Lexi, who's best friends are the focus of book 1.
Lexi finds herself being haunted so calls along one of the few people she knew can help. Trey. Trey's work has him dealing with spirits, so he's just the person to help Lexi. But has he met his match.
I loved this book and thoroughly enjoyed it. Temperance has done a brilliant job.
A very solid storyline that kept me captivated till the very end. I love Lexi and Trey's romance, the sweet process of discovering that leaning on someone doesn't make you weak.
The writer has a way with words and painting the setting that pulls you into the story. I mostly read it at night and OMG, I had to get up and turn on the outside light because I could almost swear the entity was at my window.
I realized it was part of a series after I started, but it's still a standalone. All round, would definitely recommend.
Cozy yet creepy paranormal romance. Lexi is a strong protagonist with a touch of over-the-top stubbornness. Trey her love interest is the kind of man any woman would want to show up on their doorstep if they had a ghost after them (or even if there wasn't a ghost). The creepy factor was there but not so much I couldn't read it before going to sleep. The romance carried throughout and several times I wished they'd just get together already. By the end they finally did. It was a good read overall with a happily ever after ending.
Such a great paranormal adventure romance! This is the first book I’ve read by this author and the first time I have read this genre and I think it was really good! I don’t think paranormal romance is my cup of tea, but the plot was entertaining, romance was believable and was an overall fun, quick read. If you are into ghost hunters x romance, I think you’ll love this series!
Trey is the MAN!!!! It was obvious in book 1 that something was brewing between Lexi and Trey. As Emily and Liam were going through their ordeal and sh*t hit the fan, Trey would always find himself near Lexi and often shielding her. Lexi had her own insecurities to deal with but Trey was an Alpha man through and through and was ready, willing and able to breakthrough all of Lexi's barriers.
Haunting Lexi shows us the lengths a man will go through to protect the woman he loves. While walking through the woods of her normal routine of walking, Lexi stumbles upon a cottage that never caught her eye before. For reasons unbeknownst to her, she feels compelled to enter the cottage and found herself drawn to a necklace buried deep in the dirt and soil of the floor. Little did Lexi know that necklace was going to thrust her into her own personal hell. An evil entity has attached themselves to Lexi in their plight for revenge.
Not wanting to worry her best friend Emily and her fiancé Liam who were about to get married Lexi knew there was one person she could turn to and it was Trey. Lexi knew she was fighting a losing battle trying to stay away from that Chocolate Adonis especially when he didn't make it easy by being an amazing friend and all around good man. Trey knew something was "off" with Lexi and he wouldn't stop until he got to the bottom of it.
Once the history of the land upon which Lexi works is revealed as well as her connection to the hauntings she's experiencing, Trey, Liam and Luke spring into action doing what they do best. Investigate the Paranormal activity. Trey is relentless in his goal to rid Lexi of her torment and rid the curse that is surrounding the land. As Lexi learns more about her lineage and her ancestry that is filled with dark magic she must learn to harness the power within to destroy the sinister entity that has been killing her family blood line for decades.
Trey was a man of action and he proved to Lexi repeatedly the words he spoke often. He not only told Lexi that he was not leaving, he proved it to her by standing by her side and fighting the evil that tried to take her from him. The Spirit Hunters are close like brothers and has each others back through thick and thin. Liam was the first to fall then Trey. Now it's Luke's turn and I can't wait to see what's in store for him and Lexi's sister Tessa.
Oh my God, I loved this book so much. Ok, Fantasy and paranormal are now my favorite genres. I can't pick one. That is IT!
Thank you, Temperance Dawn and your team, for sending me the ARC. I loved this book so much. I just bought the whole series, now that today "Haunting Tessa" is out. I loved Lexi from the first book, but now seeing more of her and getting to know her better... wow, she's a fighter. I saw myself a lot in Lexi and I'm so happy she gave herself a chance (maybe I'll learn something from her). Also, I'm so happy Lexi and Trey found each other. They are perfect for each other and they make a great team.
I was so happy to find Emily and Liam in the story. And in the end, the three men working together, it was perfect. It was like "hunting things, the family business" = "like the old times". I know they are working cases together, but actually seeing them in action, made me smile like a maniac:))))
I have to say, I haven't really trusted Ella. Even now, I'm not sure if I trust her. Call me crazy, but I thought she was Mabel and she was controlling everything from the living... I still think that, but we'll see...
I loved the action of this book and the characters, how they grow, and how the mystery is created. This book/series has everything you need for a cozy read, with a worm blanket and a hot chocolate/coffee: romance, action, mystery, a great supernatural setting, great history set. Everything was perfect. And now me, turning all the lights on because I finished the book at night and every crack I hear, sets me on edge:)))
Book two in the Spirit Hunters series and so far my favorite!!
This book centers on Lexi and Trey whom we met in book one and even then their connection was palpable. Trey is a grounded, strong willed, intelligent, and kind telepath which to me made him the perfect partner for Lexi. Who grew up in an unstable environment but was made strong inspite of it. Ancestry is a major part of this book, my take being that your are not the choices your predecessors have made. You are your own person with your own heart and mind and therefore capable of forging your own path if you so choose. Lexi fought hard for this freedom and it is understandable why she was so afraid of giving in to her connection with Trey. But once she did...what a surrender!
Tropes: PNR, slow burn (high heat), vengeance on all who wronged me, friends to lovers
This author has made the 2nd book of the series even better than the first! The writing itself is amazing and never disappoints. The mix of haunting aspects followed by the entertwining romance together are sensational! Lexi and Trey made for one heck of a couple and the chemistry between the two was explosive. The charisma that Temperance Dawn wrote for Lexi, along with Trey's genuine and sweet, yet dominant side made for a delightful pairing. The character development and plot of the entire story was off the charts. Definitely a re-read in the near future just to experience the overall story and excitement of the book. It literally had me sitting on the edge of my seat to see how the paranormal haunting would play out. Overall, I'm anxiously waiting for the next book in the series. A huge fan of everything this author has done and can't wait to see what she brings in the future!
I was worried since Calming His Wildfire is part of the series, but it truly stands on its own. From the first few pages I was hooked on Lexi’s, the main character’s, adventure. I loved Dawn’s descriptive writing and storytelling—I was enthralled the entire way through and sucked into the story world and the romance of Lexi and Trey. It was difficult for me to put it down to do anything else!
I love the mix of aspects of this story, with the paranormal aspect being my favorite. As an avid paranormal lover, I enjoyed the spooky side of this story and it added to the wonder for me.
Overall, Calming His Wildfire was an entertaining adventure with some thrilling scenes and a tale that hooks you in and keeps you there!

I loved this one. This is Lexi’s and Trey’s story. You meet both of them in Haunting Emily. Lexi is Emily’s best friend and Trey is part of Liam’s paranormal Investigation Team. Lexi feels compelled to go for a walk in the woods. She finds a run down cottage. She finds herself digging in the ground for something. She finds a necklace. She takes the necklace but she also takes a ghost with her. She is being haunted. Now she needs Trey’s help. So Trey and Luke come to help Lexi. They find out some interesting things about the ghost the town and Lexi’s past. Emily and Liam join in on the investigation after their honeymoon. Will Trey and his team help Lexi break the curse? Will Trey finally break down Lexi’s walls? Will Lexi let Trey in and love her? Check out the book to find out.
A fantastic paranormal romance! This was a slow burn, but worth the wait. We definitely get the angst. I love the chemistry between Trey and Lexi. Lexi is tough, but a guarded fmc. Trey, he's all things masculine and protective but not in an overboard way. He is so loving towards Lexi. I've already had the privilege of reading Haunting Emily and loved it. However, I think I like this one even better!! I thought this book had an even better mystery and definitely a little more suspenseful. So, in a nutshell, I loved it!
I really enjoyed Haunting Lexi and once I started didn't want to put it down. It was the second in the series so I had already met Lexi and Trey in Haunting Emily, which just added to my enjoyment of the story. That said, this one would still be great as a stand alone. I loved the connection between Lexi and Trey and how Lexi's walls slowly broke down to let Trey in. The paranormal investigation was interesting, and I even felt scared at times! It was full of witchcraft, betrayal and revenge. I loved all the additional characters we meet along the way.
A worthy sequel to Haunting Emily, the clear and present danger swirling around Lexi leaps off the page, as does the sizzling chemistry between her and Trey.
The mystery of the witch who haunts her forces Lexi, Trey and their found family of Luke, Ella. Emily and Liam to deep dive into Lexi's past, discovering some long ago buried family history. Paying for the sins of your family takes on new meaning in this book.
The danger heightens the passion and the heat between Lexi and Trey, and each time they come together, I believed in the strength of Trey's convictions more and more. As a reader, I understood Lexi's previous heartbreak and unwillingness to open up but their connection was one that couldn't be denied.
The spice has been turned up to 11 and the wait is definitely worth it. Can't want for Luke & Tessa's story next!
Reading about Ghosts is not usually my chosen genre but Temperance Dawn wrote this. I had to read her second book in this series. Her amazing storytelling continues in this haunting tale with great locations and characters. She slowly draws her readers into her plot about a ghost out for revenge. Along with that, we see the connection between Trey and Emily grow stronger. This tale has danger, friendship to lovers, angst, intrigue and steam. I am looking forward to her next
The second book in this series and it didn't disappoint!!! Lexi has been a favorite character of mine since book 1 and so I was thrilled that Dawn used her as a main character! It took me awhile to finish this read due to personal reasons but I deeply regret putting it down for as long as I did! The ending was so satisfying and the tie in to the next book has me waiting for Haunting Tessa.
