Seven years have passed since Kinsley and Grace Harper-Scott became parents. They are looking forward to another Christmas with their family, but a Christmas wish that might not come true threatens to ruin the magic of Christmas.
Desperate to make sure her kids don't stop believing in Santa, Kinsley will stop at nothing to get a dog for her daughter. Unfortunately, long road trips with way too many bathroom breaks, freak snow storms, meddling mothers, and a daughter that is way too similar to her all threaten to stand in the way.
Erica Lee finished writing her first book, Dear Santa: I’m Gay, in December 2016. Erica currently lives in Pennsylvania with her wife, dog, chinchilla, and bunny. She spends her days working as an optometrist and her nights snuggled up on the couch with her furry family, binging on netflix or youtube.

I'm so sad that this is the end of a great series but I'm also very happy with this conclusion. It's great to follow again the Harper-Scott family on their journey. I really enjoyed the light-hearted plot and I loved all the characters with their fun, witty personalities. The twins were adorable and I often smiled at their antics. Snowballs and Sleds is a must read for the fans of Kinsley and Grace. It's a perfect (short) read with all the good Christmas feels and holiday spirit. If you are new to this series (Sunsets and Shades),try it, you won't regret it.
Oh how much I love Kinsley and Grace and I‘m so happy Erica Lee gifted us with this perfect closure of their story. It was wonderful to see what family they created. And most importantly the message about adopting an animal was perfect. It was the moment I had to cry because it was so beautiful. Highly recommend this book just like all her books.
I loved the coupling of Kingsley and Grace. From the very beginning their relationship was based on a connection some would have walked away from but not these two. As the third book starts you get to see how Kingsley and Grace deal with life with their children. I think we all remember holding on to Santa - needing to believe for one more time. It was a adventure to see what they would do to keep that alive in their children. As the story unravels, you get to see how important family has become to them especially Kingsley. This was a nice window into what some of us only dream of. Another good one for Erica Lee.
Could it be that I thought this was the best of the three?
I mean, I’m a sucker for kids who have some kind of meaningful impact on the story, and when Delaney is keeping Kinsley on her toes, OMG. Plus then the chocolate chip cookies. Singing in the shower. And then Miracle. And the dude’s shoes? Ah, I loved it.
So it was fun not just to get this peek into Kinsley and Grace’s life, but to see how Kinsley has changed (and how she hasn’t). They continue to be wonderful characters to spend time with, funny and heartwarming. And Delaney is a wonderful addition! The unplanned road trip was awesome. The little epilogues farther and still farther into the future were like the icing on the icing on the cake. The candles on the icing, maybe. 🤣
Kinsly and Grace really had as many hills to conquer in this book as in the other two but definitely they were different. The growing pains of a family and the demands of especially one of the twins on Kinsly (if only in her mind) made her journey in life interesting. The author took all the normal twists and turns of a normal family and put them all into Kin’s and Graces life in this last book in a wonderful interpretation of a normal gay marriage. One that lasted through all the ups and downs of a normal real loving couple. I found this book as well as the other two utterly amazing and refreshingly entertaining.
This was a good short story, and a very good follow-up if you liked Sunsets and Shades and Strollers and Swings. I would absolutely not recommend this without reading the prior novel and novella. If you liked the characters this is a great follow-up and conclusion. I liked to see the continued character growth (particularly Kinsley), and this short story does an amazing job of playing forward the characters lives and giving LOTS of satisfying conclusions for our characters. I’m a sucker for an excessive amount of conclusions and this short story fed into that in a big way; the last two chapters jump several years ahead (each!) and as a result this trilogy essentially covers decades of the characters lives. Overall it was very satisfying.
This short story is “just” feel-good happy times. It’s a cute little Christmas adventure full of fun scenes and not a lot more, which honestly the characters deserve after everything they have been through. This is a simple story, so I don’t have a lot to say about it, but it was enjoyable and a great way to finish of the characters journeys.
This novella I assume will finish out the Sunset and Shades series. We get to jump forward with Kinsley and Grace Harper-Scott seven years after they become parents. And then a second leap into the future when their children are almost finished with high-school. Both stories are set for during the Christmas holidays and include extended family and friends I was happy to catch up on. I consider extra stories like these a gift from the author when she knows she's created characters that people love and care about.
Sweet .. very sweet , too sweet the things great romance are made of in a world of happily ever after. I read all 3 books within a week, for one thing it kept me going and coming back for more . The writing style not my favorite a bit of poetry missing .. I really didn’t want to read about how Kinsley was rude so many times, as to put her in contraste with Grace sweet nerdy self … I got it the first couple time it was mentioned.
As always any Erica Lee book will get a 5 star from me, because she always has a well written story and premise for her books. This one was all about family and friends old and new. Very funny and heart warming. I highly recommend this book, and can't wait for her next book.
I love when we get epilogues like this so much was covered in 52 pages almost 20 years of time since the second book ended. Watching the kids grow up and Grace and Kinsley still growing together. Also pop ups of other characters from other series/ first book! Erica Lee you ROCK!
This was the perfect tie up for Kinsley and Grace. This was a great Christmas tale and I highly recommend this book. Reading the first two books is suggested but not essential. Give yourself a gift this holiday.
This novella was super quick pick me up just in time for the holidays. It’s funny, sexy, and heart warming in a little package. Erica Lee wrapped up the series and put a little bow on top for all her readers. Here’s to us all finding our happily ever afters.
Such a cute conclusion to this wonderful story. I loved seeing grace and Kinsley through so many stages of their life. Their adorable kids, their friends and family, the life they built together. It was all so sweet and sappy and I loved it.
