This is the anatomy and physiology text written especially for students and practitioners of massage therapy. This edition integrates massage therapy concepts within the anatomy and physiology content, including sections that discuss how massage interacts with the body systems. The book covers all of the major body systems—integumentary, skeletal, muscular, and nervous systems—that are crucial to effective massage therapy, and provides an overview of other body systems to give students a well-rounded understanding of anatomy and physiology.
This book was very informative for me, a massage therapist. But the reveiw questions at the end of the chapters were infuriating! They were really dumb questions and had some mistakes. All in all it was too much information for the massage therapist. We need to study hard certain aspects. But it is good to know the information is there if I want to study it further.
I'm not a big fan of this book. It swings between far too much and far too little depending on the chapter. However, I did get a 97 on my final exam but I think that speaks more to the ability of my instructor to teach the material rather than the book itself.
Oi, such a great text for basics of A&P and basic pathology. This also helped me test out of Anatomy for massage school, but it is excellent to have around for reference.
