Jamie Grinch

I absolutely despise Christmas. It’s loud and bright and just too much. I’ve been trying for years to put a stop to it, but like the failure my dad always said I was, I can’t seem to pull it off. This year though, I have the perfect plan. Then Santa Bear himself makes it his mission to compel me to fall in love with the disgusting holiday.

Christmas might not be the only thing that steals my heart this season.

Nicolas ‘Santa’ Claus

As long as I’ve been doing my job, Jamie has been one step behind me, trying to tear it all down. He’s destructive, angry, and so fucking adorable. He’s got a past—don’t we all?—and I’m determined to break down the icy walls around his heart and show him what Christmas is all about.

I didn’t plan on him teaching me about true love along the way.

Well, for me, this one read VERY fast! I can't tell you what made each page slip right into the next one, but the storyline just kept moving right along until I was, surprisingly, at the end! Jamie and Nic were in a passive/aggressive relationship at the beginning... Jamie would prank or destroy and Nic would replace or repair what got broken. But, the truth of the matter was that they were attracted to each other and neither one was willing to take that "first" step... until the "big" blowup! *grin*

This was an entertaining story that brought a smile to my face by giving an old story new life, but it also gives us a much-needed reminder that all is not well in the world and that there is much work still to be done to bring not only joy but in many cases safety to our most vulnerable!

So, as we spend this Christmas within the boundaries of the limitations of an unusual pandemic season, let's use this time to love the ones we can be with and set our sights on making things better for all in the coming new year!

The story was very sweet and full of magic with age gap relationship (NOT Daddy/Boy dynamics), a healthy dose of angst and steam *fans herself* I liked Santa and Grinch pairing but what the author did was much better: he made both men human and relatable rather than mythical. I enjoyed Nick's frustration and small hints of vulnerability as well as Jamie's strength despite his obvious cry for help. The author went body positivity way which was absolutely marvelous and made me like the story even more. Both men had fantastic chemistry, light sense of humor and a bit of insecurity that they helped each other to overcome. The pace was steady and this was more of long denied longing blossom into love kind of trope. I enjoyed it! Copy received for my honest and unbiased review

That was a perfect little Christmas novella, I loved it hard.

Nicolas turns into Santa every year. For over more than ten years Jamie tries to ruin Nic’s work, he hates Christmas. Somehow at fifteen, he ended up at Christmas Village. We’ll learn throughout this story what happened.

They are attracted to each other but Nic thinks he too old at forty-two and Jamie knows Nic is out of his league he’s just that poor skinny guy who makes his life hard.

Nic takes Jamie with him on a trip and wants to show him the Christmas spirit, instead, he learns about the reasons why Jamie is bitter. Jamie shows Nic something, something Nic desires but afraid to hope for.

Oh, dear mistletoe, what a delicious story, with hurt, comfort, naughtiness, sweetness, sexiness, magic, and a lot of other feelings are to find.

It had the perfect alternative Christmas dynamic, big hands who can spank the life out of you, a naughty pain in the ass who loved to be spanked! Ha!

I loved the way it was written, fast-paced, awfully sweet, the hurt made my heart squeeze, it had great optimism and the development was exactly enough.

In short a delightful story and a great addition to the Christmas section.

This was a lovely, heartwarming enemies-to-lovers romance, with a very original take on the Santa Claus mythology. I loved the author’s version of the Christmas Village, the Claus family, the not-so-nice list, elves, and reindeer. Wouldn’t mind more stories in this setting. I enjoyed the initial misunderstandings and friction between Nic and Jamie and how they slowly started to see the other more clearly. There’s a really cozy, sweet vibe throughout the story, so the heat when it came took me completely by surprise. In the best way, of course. Such a naughty Santa! Definitely recommend!

An adorable addition to my fairy tales Christmas stores.
A romance between the father Christmas Nick and Jamie the Grinch.
Jamie is a brat and Nick has to do anything to make him like Christmas, because since Jamie came, he always hate and tried to ruin Christmas.
But what they didn't really realized was it's a game of love - hate relationship.
I liked how gentle Nick with Jamie and how free Jamie with Nick.
This was adorably enjoyable romance. Recommended.

This is a wonderfully original modern-day human retelling of the Grinch, in which we have the Grinch getting his HEA with none other than Santa Claus. Let me start by saying that the characters are impossible not to love! Just like Nic, I found Jamie's sass and mischievous nature to be utterly adorable. And Nic, well I found his determination to win over Jamie so very endearing. After some initial misunderstandings, these two slowly warm up to each other and the chemistry and sweetness is off the charts. Their romance is perfectly heightened by the author's stellar world building and re-imagining of the Christmas Village and it's magical community. Such a magically sweet story!

This was a cute take on the Grinch/Santa trope. The Grinch (Jamie) was kicked out of his family and ends up in ... Santa-land. Can't remember the name. As much as he wants to be loved, he decides to take the opposite path and for many years has been doing his best to sabotage Christmas while making Nick nuts determined to figure out Nick's magic and steal us, thus destroying Christmas. Finally after blowing up some machinery, Nick has reached the end of his rope and decides to take Jamie with him to Oslo to get some parts. Jamie doesn't speak Norwegian and he's got no clue why hot Daddy Santa is doing this but goes along. After a traumatic experience at a local LGBT centre where Nick volunteers, they share a kiss and that just makes everything weird as Nick thinks he's too old and he shouldn't be doing it and then Jamie feels rejected and yeah.

Anyway, eventually of course they get together but it was nice that Nick also had some insecurity about who he was other than "Santa". Not many people saw him as having a purpose outside of the role. Anyway, it was cute. I kind of hope Jamie would have a dog named Max, but still, I enjoyed it a great deal and it was different.

Such a fun holiday short.
Jamie Grinch hates Christmas and loves to try to mess up Santa's plans. The chemistry between the two characters is obvious from the beginning, even when they are at each others throats. Jamie's quirky nicknames for Nic and penchant for his zombie cookies keep the story fun and light-hearted. Santa's exasperation with Jamie, but insistence that he's going to make Jamie love Christmas, are sweet as we see how much Nic comes to care for Jamie, despite his petulance.
When one of Jamie's pranks forces an overnight trip to find replacement parts, the two men embark on a journey that not only brings them closer together, but forces their hand when the hotel they stay in only has one bed!
After reading the story, I kept asking myself when the tide changed, when did Jamie and Nic finally realize they were meant to be together? I've concluded the transition from enemies to lovers was so seamless, I still can't pinpoint a moment. I think it's a major credit to the author that we not only fall in love with the quirky characters, but we get to tag along as they discover how much they truly do care for each other.

I was seriously charmed by this novella. It’s a reimagining of the grinch who stole Christmas, only in this version young Jamie Grinch and Nic (day job, Santa) are the perfect match, although it takes a few shenanigans and a seriously weird road-trip (sleigh trip?) for them to work that out. There are plenty of sweet moments here, and a genuinely heartwarming ethos throughout: the magical Christmas community is about Christmas, but it’s also about inclusion, love, and finding a place for everyone who needs it. It’s hard to not love a Santa who takes time out to visit a LGBTQ+ youth shelter, and it’s hard not to root for a grinch who realizes that the person behind the Santa job needs love and support too. There’s also plenty of steam, to go along with all the feels and the shenanigans, and zombie gingerbread men. An unexpectedly awesome holiday story, well worth a read.

I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This was incredibly sweet, bratty and christmassy fun!

Sassy and mischievous Jamie against growly Santa Bear made my face hurt from laughter. They said they hated each other when it was obvious they didn't. Not when Jamie did everything to get Nic's attention and the latter would have loved nothing more than to get his hands on the bratty boy...and keep them on him for ever.

I adored these two together, from their initial antagonism to every sweet moment when they slowly let their walls down and allowed themselves to see just how perfectly they fit into each other's lives. Enriched with some hot, steamy sex scenes, the gradual progression of their relationship was a delight to read through.

Also, Santa Bear comes with its uniquely crafted Santa Village, a place where unwanted or unloved people are magically directed to when they need a home. So, come visit, maybe you'll see Jamie in Santa's lap lol. Either way, you'll have fun.

I was given a free arc copy from the author and the GRR arc team for review.

It's like a cross between The Santa Clause movie and The Grinch That Stole Christmas if the Grinch was very Emo and they were both gay and got up to lots of naughty fun.

I loved this book so much. Nick aka Santa is 42 and Jamie is 29, a 13 year age gap. This book is full of hurt/comfort and Daddy vibes (which I love) even though they don't use those terms. This was a very quick read. Just around 2 hours. It felt complete though despite it's shortness and didn't come off as insta love. The plot is interesting and fun the whole way through. I couldn't put it down and I had a huge grin on my face the entire time. It's sweet without being sappy. It's funny and there is plenty of hotness. I would highly recommend this book. It's just what you need this holiday season.

Ahhhh... I have been waiting impatiently to read Santa Bear by L. Luther. Seriously, an #mmromance retelling of The Grinch & Santa with just a hint of kink? How could you not want to read this?⁣

Santa Bear was everything I could’ve hoped for and more. ⁣

Jaime Grinch hates Christmas, and anyone who loves it, especially Santa himself. How dare he look like a snack while standing for the very thing Jaime despises?⁣

Nic, aka Santa... he’s the scruffy bear you have spect him to be with a heart & souls built for love and on a one-man mission to get Jaime to love Christmas. ⁣

This one has it all... holiday romance, snark and humor, seriously sexy steam, and an HEA. ⁣

Just short enough to devour quickly while giving you all the plot elements you need. ⁣

A solid 5/5 stars for Jaime & Nic. ⁣

Ok this story is different but it is adorable. This is a retelling of the story about the Grinch and Santa. Jamie Grinch came to Christmas Village like many others have over the years. Somehow people find their way to the village when they are in need of a fresh start and to find love and direction. The only problem is Jamie hates Christmas and is determined to make life as difficult as possible for everyone, but especially for Nick. Nick however is determined to make Jamie see that it doesn’t have to be that way. He wants to show him all the good, especially the good that is inside his own heart. I enjoyed this quick little holiday novella! Jamie has been mistreated his whole life and just has to realize that not everyone is out to get him and that the magic of Christmas really is for everyone, even the grinchiest of grinches.

Santa Bear was a sweet and magical enemies to lovers Christmas novella with some BDSM kink. I loved L Luther’s world building especially with the Christmas Village, Saint Nicholas and his family, the elves and the reindeer. Jamie Grinch is a real Grinch when it comes to Christmas and he spends most of his time sabotaging Nicholas workshop. From explosions, stink bombs, and throwing toys off the room, Jamie wreaks havoc in the Christmas Village. He and Nicholas have a series of misunderstandings and annoy the heck out of each other before slowing warming up to the other. They’ve each had a crush on the other and their friction warms into a sweet and heart-warming relationship. What a wonderful holiday read and I hope there are more stories in the Magicked to Christmas Village series :) Perfect for the holiday season :) You’ll love the Christmas Village!

This is an enjoyable, heartwarming quick-read MM festive season romance that has a fascinating “enemies to lovers” undertone with a touch of “Santa/ Grinch”. The plot is well-paced & has some very interesting situations. There is an age-gap between the two main characters & this makes them quite strong-willed individuals who have good chemistry between them.
It is about: a Christmas-hating young boy (Jamie Grinch) somehow lands up in a Christmas Village & now as an adult, he is determined to make life very difficult for his number one peeve who happens to be a Christmas loving Santa (Nicolas aka Nick) who in turn, is quite determined to change Jamie’s attitude towards Christmas.
There is: humour, snarkiness, disagreements, pranks, attractions, memories, mild anguish, vulnerabilities, mild kink, surprises, some steam & a delightful ending.

This is the second book that I’ve read by L. Luther and I was not disappointed at all!

I absolutely loved Santa Bear, and both Jamie & Nic.

Jamie Grinch hates Christmas and has made it his mission to end Christmas once and for all. He absolutely does not antagonize Nic (aka Santa) because he is drawn to the very attractive man. He definitely does not want to do very, very naughty things with him.

Nic decides the only way to get Jamie to stop messing up his workshop and toys is to make him love Christmas. He has no alternative motives and does not secretly have very steamy ideas about him & Jamie.

This story has so many perfect elements! It’s sweet, snarky, steamy, and romantic with the perfect HEA.

I did receive a free ARC of this book but that did not influence my review.

Let me start by saying I did NOT read the blurb/synopsis/description before starting this book. All I knew was that it was a Christmas book. I was confused at first but by about the second chapter, I was really enjoying it!!

Santa and ‘the Grinch’, what a great concept!! Santa Claus and his elves are trying to get everything ready for Christmas and Jamie Grinch can’t help but cause mayhem. Santa needs to go to a nearby village to get a part to fix the kiln and he takes Jamie with him. They grow closer during the trip. Santa learns that Jamie needs love and Jamie learns that Santa just might be the one to give it to him.

I went into this expecting a short and sweet ball of Christmas fluff - and came away with SO much more! A tale of a lonely Grinch, hating Christmas and everything it represents, trying his best to ruin it or keep it from happening every year. Saint Nic is just tryin to do his job, and here's this prankster comin in & messin everything up. They each hatch a plan to get something they want from the other, which backfires for both of them. A little bit of kink, a little brattiness, sexy Santa, a bit of good ol' Christmas Magic - and you get a beautifully told story of past pain, tender love that heals, and a Merry Christmas for all! Loved it!

"Santa Bear" is easily the most unique and imaginative take on the enemies-to-lovers trope I've read (well, not that Santa really has "enemies"). Jamie Grinch is on a mission to ruin Christmas, while his nemesis Santa Nic is on one to show him the magic of the season, and their back-and-forth is a snarky delight. Both are lonely men who have known each other for years and have spent much of that time self-denying their mutual attraction. Jamie's backstory is heartbreaking and you can't help but feel so much empathy for him, which makes his HEA with Nic all the more heartwarming. This is a very quick, uplifting read that'll leave you believing in that ol' holiday magic. Highly recommended. I received an advance reading copy of this book and have left this honest review voluntarily.

Cute, sexy, sometimes bratty, with a touch of kink and a sweet HEA.
Jamie Grinch has been a thorn in Nic’s (aka Santa) side for the last time and now he’s going to teach Jamie what Christmas is all about. But Jamie’s past has darkened his heart and he won’t let Christmas in—until Nic shows him what love truly is. This sweet (and sometimes kinky) romance is the perfect holiday treat. Both Nic and Jamie grow as they learn more about each other and it’s nice to see how a little love and understanding can warm even the coldest heart. I highly recommend this nicely written Christmas story.

This was fantastic! Hot and steamy! Jamie Grinch hates Christmas. He will do anything to stop Christmas including stealing Santa’s magic. Nic wants to understand why Jamie hates Christmas and makes it his mission to find out. Jamie pulls off some fantastic shenanigans attempting to sabotage Christmas, but Nic always preservers and fixes it before it’s a problem. With Jamie’s last attempt, and he’s caused some serious trouble, Nic makes him go with him to get the needed parts to fix what he broke. Nic and Jamie get to know one another more. I loved the Zombie cookies!! This was sooo good, light, and funny, hot, and steamy! I’m voluntarily reviewing from an advanced copy that I received.

If you need a good, short holiday read, this one is recommended to lift your spirits.

Jamie is a grinch, and not just in name only, who despises all things Christmas. Even going as far as to try and put a stop to it himself. Quite a feat.

Nicholas Claus knows all to well about Jamie's, Christmas destroying behaviors. Despite his destructive ways, he thinks he is really cute. His past makes him who he is and its not easy to contend with.

Can jolly Nick woo the Grinch, make him a happier person and the love of his life.

Sexy and cute

What a cute and sexy Christmas read. I’m not a huge fan of the Christmas book, but I am a huge fan of the Grinch. So when I saw that this was book about the Grinch reimagined? I was all in.

I absolutely enjoyed Nic and Jaime. These two couldn’t have been more opposite but they were two pieces of the same puzzle. I loved everything about this story.

There was humor, heat and even some poignant moments. It all came together to create this wonderful holiday story.

Jamie is a thorn in Nicolas's side and keeps pulling pranks and causing mischief. Nicolas is trying to let it go and bring Jamie round to loving Christmas but it is hard work doing so. It was like the playground when a kid pulled on your pigtails trying to get you to notice him, it was so adorable and obvious. It was so snarky and full of some real hard hitting emotions and a interesting take on the tale of santa. I loved the push/pull thing they had going on and how Jamie developed as a person, also Santa and Jamie getting amorous was the festive fun you need.

This was such a lovely holiday book with a great twist on Santa and the Grinch. Not only was it a twist on a classic Christmas story, but it also my favorite trope...age gap!

I loved Jamie and Nic's characters so much! The growth of their relationship flowed. Also, I love how quirky Jamie is portrayed.

I was really excited to read a different type of holiday romance. L. Luther has an awesome writing style that kept me intrigued. It was awesome and whimsical world building. I cannot wait to read more of their books!

This is a really cute twist on your typical Grinch story and I really like the outcome of this one a lot better. Jamie, Grinch, and Nicolas, Santa, have been at odds for years but there is an attraction lying beneath all of that. Nic is determined to make this the year that Jamie falls in love with Christmas, but that may not be the only thing he falls in love with. It's a funny and steamy journey for these two wonderful characters. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

Dedicated to destroying Christmas

Jamie Grinch had first appeared at Christmas Village when he was fifteen, he is a prankster and is always trying to cause problems that will affect Christmas (ideally he wants to stop Christmas). But Santa and the elves always manage to fix all the problems he causes and Christmas continues as normal!
This book gives an alternate view of Santa and the Grinch, it is heartwarming and hysterically funny! Page turner with heat overall light-hearted but does touch on some sensitive subjects. I love this story so much!!

Santa Bear is funny and full of loving feels! Jamie Grinch hates Christmas and he does what he can to make Christmas more difficult for Nicolas. When a prank does a little more damage than expected, Jamie finds himself on a forced overnight trip with Nic. There’s only one bed ;) Jamie and Nic have some ups and downs, a whole lot of feelings, and they make it work all the way up to their HEA.

This was a short & fun Christmas read. I loved the flow of it - something was usually happening on page. I enjoyed the take on classic characters with an MM retelling. Come read - enjoy the holiday feelings, stay for the snark.
