Deadly Encounters

Rate this book
Deadly Encounters is based in Murrells Inlet, SC. It's a thriller based on fictional characters identifiable to the South Strands hodge podge mix of transplants from every corner of our country. The restrictions in place caused by a virus are partly the reason the Deadly Encounters happen, but after reading you'll see the underlying reasons. I wrote this book after many months walking Brownie at Huntington beach park and creating the characters and stories while collecting shells and watching the sunrise each morning.

Deadly Encounters by Thomas Zegory is a gripping, atmospheric thriller that feels both timely and deeply rooted in place. Set in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, the story captures the unique “hodge-podge” spirit of the South Strand transplants from every corner of the country, all carrying their own secrets, motives, and flaws. The setting isn’t just a backdrop; it’s woven into the tension, making the story feel vivid and authentic.

What truly sets this book apart is its mood. You can feel the author’s personal connection to the setting the early morning walks at Huntington Beach State Park, the sunrises, the shells, and the quiet reflection all seep into the narrative. The result is a thriller that balances suspense with a strong sense of place and introspection.
