Can a party, a rejection, and an interfering Nanna help a reluctant billionaire find love, and the one thing he craves most; acceptance for who he is?

Brett Louden attends his best friend’s engagement party and finds someone to spark his desire. Only, after a night of chemistry and a heated kiss, the much younger man doesn’t respond to his messages so he gives up any hope he’s interested.

That is until Brett is persuaded to go on holiday with his family.

Guy Finchley is left at loose ends for the holidays, until he’s invited to Switzerland at the expense of his friend’s billionaire boyfriend. His life turns upside down after he meets Brett again, and he is no longer able to deny the attraction between them.

Unfortunately, Brett’s father has other ideas about what should happen between them. Will Nanna and Guy be able to show Brett’s father the error of his ways while mayhem and disaster follow?

Reluctant Billionaire (book two in the Billionaire’s Playground series) is a standalone, MM gay romance, with a younger dominant man who has sass in bucket loads and loves kick-arse heels.

Where does one start with about what I do?
I’m a writer, but I’m sure you guessed that by now if you’re reading this, hey? What you might not know is I’m a little quirky, live in my pj’s most of the time and have cake Saturdays with my sisters every week. I dedicate a little of my time to taking care of my grandbabies and on the dedicated writing days I like to write an eclectic mix of romance, suspense and paranormal fantasy. In the main I’ve written gay romance but I’m branching out under another the pen name in the future, so watch this space.
I’ve a passion for books like you would not believe and it led me down this path and now I’ve over 29 books released and heading towards releasing a whole lot more. The way my head is I never know where I’ll be headed next. I hope you’ll find a little joy in my words and follow me to see where the journey takes me and you.
If you’re interested at some point in 2021 I’ll be writing under the name JP Paton which will be F/M crime and Fantasy two of my favourite things. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled 

I’ve decided that J. P. Is not the author for me. The writing is fine, however I just don’t like the characters in these books. I hate effeminate men who are dominant over butch men. It just doesn’t work for me. I don’t like daddy kink either. I know lots of people love these books and I’m glad they’re available to them. I’ll pass.

Just loved the Reluctant Billionaire the next in the Billionaire's Playground series by JP Sayle. From the first page to the last, it draws you in as if your right there with Guy and Brett as they explore their new relationship with all of those special feels you absolutely love, whether you're laughing, sighing, and even crying. While you just keep reading this book, knowing your going to get that wonderful happy ending, but still silently wishing it will never come because you could live in the pages of this story.

What happens when you combine a younger, confident man with a dominant streak and a level-headed, reluctant billionaire possessing a desire to submit? You get the Reluctant Billionaire by JP Sayle. An entertaining, well-paced romance with crazy antics, a controlling father and a realistic approach to body image, that shatters the ideals of the fashion industry.

The Reluctant Billionaire is the second in JP Sayle’s The Billionaire’s Playground series and can be read as a standalone, I did! But I will be going back and checking out Property of a Billionaire, the first in the series, if only to witness more of Nana’s antics.

Brett Louden isn’t your typical billionaire. His fortune comes from family money and is wrapped with so many strings, strings he wants little to do with. Instead, Brett focuses his attention on the hard work of a satisfying career, supporting himself with a modest living. Brett only desires acceptance for who he is, along with love and contentment.

Guy Finchley is assertive and sassy, with a propensity for wearing boots and heels. What can be done in heels, up against a wall, will forever have vivid recollections for me. He has never had much money, but would give what he does have away to anyone in need. Guy is a clothes whore, majoring in fashion design, who strives to make clothing for those who suffer with body consciousness issues.

Having not read Property of a Billionaire, I fully understand that Brett and Guy have met previously but didn’t act on their attraction. It takes a trip to Switzerland and a meddling Nana to bring these guys together for a vacation where secret desires and lust ignite a connection. One that ultimately survives the scrutiny of Brett’s hard Russian father, Maxim, and his expectations for Brett. Kudos, Nana for your intimidating, hilarious and blunt indoctrination of Maxim to the current century.

Misconception, a meddling father, a well-meaning and hilarious Nana and vulnerabilities combine to create a low angst, opposites attract, age-gap with a younger dominant personality fulfilling the needs of an older submissive. The chemistry and connection between Brett and Guy are real and plausible, as both expose their insecurities to the other and exploit their innate strengths to overpower their limitations.

The Reluctant Billionaire is a dynamic multi-person point of view story that engages from the start. Although this is Brett and Guy’s story, Nana steals the limelight from them at times, but in a good way. Brett and Guy are amazing individuals on their own, but combined, they are a force of nature that deserve the happy-ever-after they obtain.

Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.

My review will be fairly short, I'm not in a good place right now!

This is book 2 in the Billionaire's Playground but its not necessary to have read book one, Property of a Billionaire. However, THAT book is where we first meet Nanna and you might want to get the full force of her nature :-)

I thoroughly enjoyed this second book, as much as, but not more than, the first book.

It's relatively low on the angst scale, but there is some, it's just not too much, you know? Just enough.

Both Brett and Guy have a say, in the first person.

I loved Nanna's meddling! While it was pure chance Brett and Guy ended up on the same holiday, everything that comes after is pure unadulterated Nanna-meddling and I loved it! She proper puts Brett's dad in his place. I liked how the reason Brett's dad was so . . . negative? maybe not quite the right word, but it fits now . . .towards him wasn't what you are first led to believe.

It's steamy, but again, not too much, and I really rather enjoyed that it was not too much, just like book one.

I'm enjoying this series. I like that the billionaires aren't arrogant or big headed. They are just regular guys with an obscene amount of money, is all! They will show that money off when needed though, but they don't shove it in anyone's face.

Keep them coming, please!

Loved it! I wasn't disappointed, Guy and Brett's story felt real. Nothing was rushed although they've met before and the sparks were there, they didn't jump into a relationship immediately. Both characters were perfectly imperfect, I liked how confident Guy was and how he's not scared to be anything but himself. Brett although lovely, had insecurities in his body that were very relatable. They each had things they had to deal with, but once they overcame these, they were open to admitting that they were right for each other without a lot of drama and misunderstandings getting in the way. It was great to see Charlie and Griffin back, even as secondary characters. Moving on to more of J.P. Sayle's other books.

Another amazing read from JP. This time it's Guy and Brett's story. I adored them.
Brett broke my heart at the start and he has some serious issues with his father Maxim. The way Brett puts on a confident front with the world but he lets that slip with Guy and shows his vulnerability - that made me swoon. There's a scene where Guy stands up for Brett against his dad - damn I loved that!! Thought it was great how dommy and protective Guy is even though he’s so much younger and less experienced - that was a great dynamic. Really liked how their relationship built towards the HEA.
The delightful Nanna is in this book and once again she was a total scene stealer and was absolutely hilarious.

Not as good as the first one.

I was spoiled with the first book. This one had too many problems. Some of the chapters left you hanging as to what happened. Sometimes, I had to go back and reread to see if I missed something. Yeah, they had heated sex scenes but they became boring after a while. The character of the book was Nanna and she wasn't supposed to be a main character. Guy and Brett held their own but Nanna swiped it from them.

Brett is at a place in his life at which he looking for a more meaningful relationship like how his friends around him have found. When he crosses paths with Guy he his immediately smitten, but a brush off is all he gets for his efforts and he is left all alone once again.
Life has a way of bringing you the unexpected and when Guy comes back into his life, maybe Brett has found for himself an opportunity to finally explore who he truly is.

This was an entertaining read which was more the evolution of Brett and how he reaches his full potential after years of quietly hiding. Guy, being younger and more confident was his perfect compliment and brings out the best in him.
The supporting characters were an amazing addition to the story, especially Nana who was a hoot. It was also great to catch up with previous characters. The storyline is entertaining and the kinky scenes are scorching.
An entertaining read which was a fantastic addition to the series.

I love these characters so much! I can’t get enough of them or this series. Guy and Brett are amazing together and the story makes you care of them from the moment it starts. I loved getting to see how their relationship unfolded and there were just so many amazing moments in this story. I honestly wanted it to never end. Brett and Guy had a great dynamic even if in the very begining there was a misunderstanding that caused some issues. I loved how Guy was youger and more dominant which Brett Wasnt used to but definitely enjoyed. I want even more of these characters.

I loved reading Guy and Brett story.
Starts off with a misunderstanding when Guy believes that Brett is not over his ex yet.. But in true form they end up at the same hotel for vacation. I loved that Guy the younger of the two was the donomint in the bedroom which was a first for Brett but he loved it. Nanna was true to form in the story. Had lots off laughter.
Brett's father was against the relationship but Nana but him in his place. This was a hot story

This story follows Property of a Billionaire, it has many of the previous characters plus a few new ones, it also has the fabulous Nanna who, once again, shocks and amuses everyone with her no filter opinions. Brett and Guy meet at an engagement party, Brett is instantly attracted, Guy not so much. I absolutely loved this story, it's intense and sweet and hilarious, I laughed out loud frequently. I love this author!

Guy and Brett are everything in this book. Guy adores boots and heels. His love for fashion is pure, not in the conceited sense either. Brett is adorable and when he loves he loves hard. Also Nana is as wonderful as ever in this book and now she has a sidekick in Rachel! The laughter and joy in this book is wonderful.

Another brilliant sequel

This is the second book in the Billionaire's Playground and follows the story of Brett - the reluctant billionaire, who we have come across in several other books and Guy - Charlie's best friend from the first book in the series - Property of the Billionaire. When they meet even though there is an attraction Guy is reluctant to go further as he thinks Brett is on the rebound. It takes Nanna from Property of the Billionaire to get them together, help explore their feelings and give Brett's dad a piece of her mind - she is one of the best written characters I have ever read. Teethgate will have you rolling around on the floor in laughter. Brett and Guy get their HEA and I can't wait for the next book in the series as there has to be more Nanna.

I enjoyed this story. It brought closure.

Brett and Guy and how the y meet in the fist book was cute. Brett with his low tolerance to alcohol. Which he kind of proves a couple of time in this story. Guy is a college student with a mind on being a fashion designer. Love the concept of the younger top with an older bottom who hasn't bottom in a few years. Money come into play and parents expectations. Really need to read the other books prior to this series because there are a lot of side characters here that I feel already have their own story. Looking forward to discovering their story.

I liked Guy immediately with his quiet demeanor, but when he was packing and said he was a clothes wh@r3, I knew I met a kindred spirit and we could have been fast friends! Charlie's Nanna added just the right amount of sass and snark to a great storyline. It was a beautiful thing to see Maxim learn some truths from Agnes and Guy. Lol. I really enjoyed the power exchange (dynamics) of the relationship between Guy and Brett. It was like a breath of fresh air. I quickly fell down the rabbit hole and invested in this couple and their journey. I liked the changes in Maxim-100%
The runway--Agnes, Brett, and a hop flask-
Omg! Lots of laughs and love inside this.

Who knew Guy would be the one in charge?

It's nice that even though this is an age gap romance, it seems the younger person takes the lead. Guy is depicted as flamboyant, typical gay person into fashion and even make-up. If only the world knew he likes to take charge in a relationship.

Brett's relationship with his father certainly grows over the course of the story. I love that he's the more insecure one in his new romantic endeavour, even though he's older and far richer. It just makes it mean more when Guy tells him just how he feels about Brett.

Nanna is even more involved in this book, and I'm all for it. She's an absolute hoot and decidedly my favourite character ever. I kind of hope the author does a spin off with her story. Now THAT would be a book worth taking the time to read.

Not for me

Likes:
-No cliffhanger
-HEA

This was nearly a DNF

Dislikes:
-Lots of normalizing coercion as acceptable and desirable during intimacy, without any discussion that this is not necessarily eve’s cup of tea.

- Lots of unhygienic acts during intimacy for no reason and with zero accounting for germs that would make someone really sick without sterilization.

-The repeated message that it’s okay to sexually harass married people you disagree with is creepy, not funny.

I didn’t enjoy reading most of the book and I don’t recommend it.

I really liked the book because I love an uncommon dynamic. It’s the reason I read to step out of my comfort zone! I loved Brett and Guy, they were fun, loving, a little broken all the things that make a great story.

I enjoy JPs books because there will always be a surprise of two that I haven’t read from other authors and I love that!! 📚
