The final match of the B-Rank Wars is coming up, and while some of the competition looks familiar, an unfamiliar squad is thrown into the mix—Yuba Squad. While Osamu and Yuma go to scout them out, Hyuse and the rest of Tamakoma help Chika come to terms with her insecurities and get to the root of her inability to shoot people. With the match looming, will Tamakoma-2 be able to pull it together in time to go up against new and old foes?!

I missed this series a lot and this one didn't disappoint with any of the details.
Looking forward to more of Chika's character development.

The last rank war is about to begin and Tamakoma need only 4 points to secure second place and the away mission position. But their opponents are tough: Ikoma, Ninomiya, and Yuba are all looking to get points as well. It's going to be a tough battle for Tamakoma - with everything riding on it.

Story: Mikumo knows he needs to get more info on especially Yuba squad since so little is known and he can't strategize otherwise. A lucky coincidence, however, could mean that both Mikumo and Kuga get valuable fighting stats - but at the price that they have to give away some of their secrets, too! But as the fight commences, can the team pull out a win?

This volume covers several topics. First, information gathering about the unknown quantity: Yuba Squad. Second, most everyone considers Ninomiya himself to be the biggest threat on the field. Mikumo will have to come up with a plan that doesn't just involve Hyuse bailing them out but counters Ninomiya's power. Third, Chika was able to shoot people, though accidentally, last volume. She will have to do some soul searching this volume to determine if that has changed the way she approaches shooting people.

Half the volume is the prep for the battle and the other half is the first part of the battle. I still enjoy all the humor: such as Ikoma squad's idea of strategizing is to talk about Ikoma dreaming about the wind the previous night. And Konami has some cute moments with Torimaru.

In all, more great World Trigger fun! Reviewed from an advance reader copy provided by the publisher.

I can barely articulate at this point but I'm writing a review (if you can call it that xD) any how because I adore this manga and this volume was outstanding.

Thoughts

- Reiji and Shiori looking after Chika and being so concerned and supportive is the sweetest. ♡ :)
- Karasuma having to reassure an indignant Konami that he respects her xD
- Konami tho."I'm doing someone a favor! Cuz I'm just so freaking nice!"*disgruntled cooking*
- the last half of this was so intense I swear my heart was pounding and my eyes can't read fast enough AHHHHHHHHHHHHH
- Ikoma Unit is BACK. YAY~ I love them so much xD
- Hyuse is my new favorite character (well, he's in my fave group. I have lots of favorites in this manga. LOTS)
- I'm glad I didn't rush through the last few volumes or else I would have had to wait for Volume 22 and the battle isn't over yet so that would have been truly soul-crushing

Team Tamakoma-2 prepares for the final battle of the Rank Wars. They need to win 4 points in order to earn a spot on the Away Mission. Their opponents are Yuba Squad, Ikumo Squad (B-Rank #4), and Ninomiya Squad (B-Rank #1). This part's a little dry and boring, but the action kicks in by page 133.

The biggest deciding factor of this match will be if Chika can actually shoot their opponents. Not just with lead bullets, but actual ammo.

...Let's just say the last few pages are very explosive.

Still loving this series! My seven-year-old wanted to learn Japanese because of these books - now the whole family is learning it. I'm especially enjoying Chika's development in this and the previous book.

World trigger just keeps getting better and better.

I am, as per usual, too lazy to put every volume on read since that takes too long.

Chika tells Reiji and Shiori why she's afraid to shoot people. Obishima and Kuga meet for the first time and train together.
