BTS 💜💜 ARMY 💜💜 I love this book! The cover is beautiful and soft. I just started learning Korean language and I'm using this book to learn daily Korean expressions. It is really helpful and easy to read. I love how the examples are broken down phrase by phrase so it helps me to use the word in a different sentence. There are lots of Korean words in this book you can hear from KPOP lyrics or Korean Dramas. If you love KPOP or K-DRAMA, BUY THIS!!

K-POP and Kdramas are all the rage these days. Does it make me a bad Korean if I'm not into it all? 🤣 I certainly do understand the obsession though and honestly love seeing people get so excited and posting about them on social media. And if you ever wanted to get a quick study of the Korean language, this is such a fun book to do it with.
When I was little, my mom sent me to "Korean school" after my regular school. It was just a few of us in the basement of the Korean church learning Korean songs and learning how to read and write the language. As a typical kid, I grumbled about it - who wants more school after school, right? But as I've gotten older I've appreciated the fact that I've retained so much of it and omg, this book was like taking a trip down memory lane but then ALSO learning MORE. By the time I was done, I felt my Korean accent coming back and was honestly just SO HAPPY. Giddy, even. It's really hard to explain but by the time it was done, I was thanking my mother in my head for making me go to so much damn school. ❤
For everyone who has asked me to help them learn Korean, I present to you HOW TO SPEAK K-POP! And for those big fans out there, you're going to want to get your hands on this.

Loved this book! It is cute and informative.
The book is like teaching you Korean words and Korean culture together. It is fun to read. There are different colors of boxes on example sentences connecting Korean alphabet to English alphabet. It helps me read Korean words easier big time.
I am a HUGE fan of BTS(shout out forTae!!1) I watched every music video of BTS. And I listen BTS albums EVERY SINGLE DAY. I learned a lot of Korean words from this book!

This book is a fantastic reference and great for for anyone looking to better understand Korean words from Korean dramas and K-pop songs. It gives the pronunciation of each words using English letters and the examples are broken down phrase by phrase. Highly recommend for anyone who is trying to learn Korean language.

Interesting read
This book was recommended by my dear friend who also likes Korean drama and TV shows. I love the words from the book actually are from Korean songs and drama. You can find them on many different songs and frequently used by Koreans.

My favorite Korean reference book
As a Korean language learner I have tried many different textbooks and workbooks. This book is my favorite one so far. You can learn all the words from pop culture. The examples are funny and easy to understand.

June 1, 2023This is a special case where I'm only DNF'ing a specific edition.
I tried a sample of this book's Kindle edition, figuring I'd save a few bucks if I liked it and just use my Kindle points to buy it. Unfortunately, on Android devices, the Kindle app renders Korean letters in a nearly illegible handwriting font with no setting to change it. This issue has been known since 2015 and Amazon does not see fit to fix it since here we are in 2023 with it still happening.
Here are some examples, in which you can see the vast difference between the script (rendered inline) and the normal font for Hanguel (the sentence structure breakdowns):
I'm not entirely sure how I feel about the book in general based on the sample, but I see some reasonably cheap used options on Amazon so I'm still considering buying it to give it a full try. The majority of the sample was just the introduction and the guide to Hangeul, with only three or four actual word examples (such as seen above) shown.
The quality seems... Well, I'd expect it to be on a blog or reddit post for free, frankly, but I can appreciate that someone wants to be paid for the effort taken to gather and define pop culture terms for people who don't speak the language. And while I'm very much not a fan of the "grammar is boring, so forget it" or "true fans learn the language" rhetoric, I have to admit the author knows his audience. I doubt I'm going to escape those things when looking at a book geared at 'teaching Korean' through pop culture and media, so I'm just here to learn terms that relate to some of my interests instead of just the normal vocabulary in textbooks.
I'll let everyone know what I think of the full book if I ever buy it in paperback. But for now, this Kindle edition is a definite skip for anyone on Android.

In the last year I was introduced to K Pop in the last year but it is not mainstream where I live. This was such a fun read to learn more about the culture and lingo. The explanations were excellent and it helps to understand the musical culture with this phenomenon.

Perfect gift for K-POP fans out there
I just finished this book. Simply I loved it. It has most frequently used Korean slang from pop culture. You rarely can learn this from any other workbook or textbook. It was also easy to read. I recommend this book for you.

This is a great read for all those who want to expand their korean words range.
Also helpful if you are a K-Pop fan and want to be more involved/understand more of the things.
