A Pilgrim's Journey: The Autobiography of St. Ignatius of Loyola

Rate this book
Throughout the journey of life, we all have moments of feeling lost. Experiences where we feel tested. It's at these times we need a signpost to point the way through the darkness and confusion to a clearer and better path. A PILGRIM'S JOURNEY is composed of 20 signposts, excerpts from the full-length work by Kampmann entitled A DEVOTIONAL, which shares the insights and wisdom he discovered as he journeyed through the pages of the New and Old Testaments. Designed as a daily devotional, it is built page by page on the assumption that the meaning and purpose of our lives is available to be discovered if only we take the time and trouble to look. Prepare yourself for the journey and keep your eyes open to the signposts along the way. You too will discover that God is always near and available for those who seek him.

Connections

There are Bible verses and comments by the author that give glimpses of the Christian walk. Nice, easy to follow from a hikers perspective. Recieved this free through Amazon for an honest review.

Scripture to Life

It took me a while to understand what the author was doing. Simply put, he took scripture and applied lesson he learned in his hiking trips to a particular verse(s). Once I understood what he was doing, I was able to not only enjoy the book more, but get more from it.

This a book that will encourage and challenge you to apply scripture(s) to your life.

This book is an easy read, and one that can be read repeatedly, and reap different things at different points in your life.

Nothing to do with the autobiography of St Ignatius of Loyola

Not sure how this book got its title but there does not appear to be anything about St Ignatius of Loyola. It is all about Eric Kampmann’s musings on his travels across the Appalachian Mountains. Good as they may be, it was not what the title or the reviews suggest.
