would become the HERO (and what a HERO HE IS!!!) in this last book of the series??

.

The dragon was never serious. But he was so lovable Sorin couldn’t hold his annoyingness against him.

This was what he was made for—to fulfill and protect this dragon.
His Bane.
His Erebu.
His beautiful curse.
His wicked salvation.

He’d never taken Ere’s desire for granted. And in the end, what the dragon wanted was all that mattered.
Millennia of controlling his body were all for naught. It belonged to the dragon now. What Ere wanted, Ere got.
He would never let this dragon go.

He knew and felt nothing else. Not Sorin’s wings enfolding them both. Not the flames that blazed around them. He was the fire himself. It was inside him. Everything burned. And nothing hurt. He could feel himself healing.
The dragon and his phoenix.
Together at last.

"Why is Sorin carrying the mattress outside?"
Ere absolutely loved Benjamin's curious mind. The boy's brilliance knew no bounds. But sometimes, he asked the most inconvenient questions. This was one of those times.
"Eh. . . "
"And why is the mattress charred black? Did you set the bed on fire, Uncle Ere?"
Why, yes, indeed he did! In more ways than one. He scrounged his orgasm-numbed brain for a reasonable explanation.
"It's all Sorin's fault," was the best he could come up with.
Five pairs of eyes turned on him as the entire family stood in a horizontal line watching Sorin heap the ruined mattress onto the side of the street for Monday trash pickup.
