Preparation is the key to success. That’s the motto I live by. And I’ve done nothing but prepare for my future every day since I can remember. To get everything I want, all I need to do is get through my senior year of college. I fully expect this semester to be just like any other—until he walks in. My infuriatingly handsome new professor, Luke. He’s young, with deep green eyes, dark hair, and a voice that could melt the panties right off a nun. You combine that with his tall frame and the muscles straining beneath his conservative sweaters, and you’ve got the perfect storm of off-limits man candy. This is bad. Like, really bad. And not only because my boyfriend is sitting right next to me, but because this professor is the exact type of distraction I don’t need. I tell myself to shake off this ridiculous crush because it can’t go anywhere good, but the more I see Luke, the more I talk to him, I can’t ignore this magnetic connection we share. When my boyfriend’s cheating ways are revealed, I finally take the plunge and give in to my desires for Luke. Our passion is beyond anything I’ve ever known. It’s explosive, intoxicating, and just might consume me whole. But professors aren’t allowed to date students, and if we’re not careful, this hard crush could ruin both our lives…

This was a pretty solid four star read for me until the end and now I’d say it’s a 3.5. Luke was extremely harsh and brutal with Alex, way more than he needed to be. Still she goes and fixes EVERYTHING for him then just forgives him? Girl, give him the cold shoulder for a few days at least. Make him do a TINY bit of groveling. It’s was so frustrating. I also felt like since the end was so rushed and unsatisfying that we could have been given an extended epilogue at least. The one we got was too close in the future.
I liked the internal dialogue a lot, especially from Luke. However, at times I felt the dialogue was clunky and awkward. I’m glad I gave it a read, it was entertaining but it won’t be on my reread shelf.
This was an alright read. The story is a student-teacher romance. The story is a romance between Luke, the teacher, and Alex, the student. I thought the story was quite boring. It was not like most of the student-teacher books that I have read. The characters were not really relatable and I found them to be just okay. The ending seemed a bit rushed. I will see how other books by this author. Overall, an okay read.
I love the student-teacher trope so I picked this one up after seeing it advertised to me on Facebook multiple times. Unfortunately, it was NOT good (in my opinion).
Things I liked: -first person POV alternating between the two main characters -hero is mostly pretty likable and sweet to the heroine
Things I disliked: -everything else
There seemed to be so much filler that wasn’t necessary and this wasn’t even a long book. Conversations between Luke and other professors that didn’t add anything to the story, just mindless chitchat. Same with Alex... unnecessary convo with her friend Taylor doing Black Friday shopping. Mmmkay. Each of their thoughts were also focused on random stuff that didn’t even add anything to the story either.
Luke went to his office to jack off after seeing Alex in his class one day... but it faded to black. Come on! Put some description in there. Same with the sex. Luke and Alex were talking about their relationship one moment and the very next line they were going at it, but not in a good way. The dialogue was awkward and the sex part lasted about 2.5 seconds and it was done. And then... “they had sex again 2 or 3 more times that night...” as a description for the rest. Sorry, but no. Not my idea of a good time in a romance book, haha.
Luke also was quick to accept Dean Harris’ threat and did what she told him to do regarding Alex. He was resolved in that was his only choice. And then a few minutes later his sister tells him a few things about how he was an idiot and he should fix it and he changes his mind right then and there.
Then the other Dean supposedly fixes their problems so easily and ta-da! All is good again and they have a happily ever after.
Oh! And don’t even get me started on Bailey, the boyfriend Alex had at the start of the book who cheated on her with her friend Beckah and blamed her over and over and tried to get back with her. Yeah, and Alex was so upset it happened that she ran right over to Luke’s house and had sex with him 5 seconds after walking in his apartment for the first time ever... you know, after Luke tells himself to keep a distance from Alex because she’s a student and yet invites her to his apartment the moment she calls him for the first time. LOL jesus you can’t make this crap up...
This is one of the most disappointing stories I’ve read. The idea is good but just, ugh.
I didn't enjoy this one personally. I love tropes. I really do. This just wasn't done the way I like. I found myself speed reading, and skipping what I could. The characters were to flat. The dialog was pretty boring. And the relationships uncompelling. I can see why it is an editable read for some. Just not for me.
I liked this book a lot. This book was so good, and I read it in lightning speed. I loved the story of Alex and Luke and how they hid their secret romance. It was fun and sexy. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who wants a sizzling romance.

I wasn't sure how this was going to play out for me since this trope is more taboo for me than most. However, the fact that they were both of age made it much better. It was a quick, spicy read and I definitely enjoyed it.
This was a good book. Really easy likable main characters and the drama is good too. Sweet un forbidden love story, that has you cheering for the good guys.
