Cursed Howlidays #2

Howling For Her Alpha

Rate this book
Witches always know how to ruin a good time…

There’s nothing worse than a wedding on Valentine’s Day. Believe me, I know. And when you toss in a little tequila… well, shit gets crazy, real fast.

Maybe I’m not thinking clearly, or maybe I’m tired of being something I’m not. Either way, when a witch says she can help me, I leap at the chance. I’m sick of being the only human in a pack of werewolves, sick of being the only one without a mate. This witch claims she can turn me into a real werewolf.

I want this. Bad.

Becoming a werewolf is the only way I can have him. Mathis. The alpha of my dreams.

For Mathis, I’ll do anything. Include letting a witch turn me into a werewolf. Problem is, this witch has some effed up ulterior motives. Ones that might just destroy any hope I have at a future with Mathis.

Previously published by Gwen Knight under Death by Chocolate. This book has been rebranded and republished as a Howls Romance but the story remains the same.

What's a girl to do when she can't shift and everyone tells her she will never be good enough, especially for their alpha? Well, she goes to a witch...probably not a good idea. Cute story!

Was Mathis flirting with me? 5 CURSED CHOCOLATES

My God. This was happening. Right now. In front of everyone. My entire life, I’d waited for that special moment. A spark of possible interest. What did it mean? Sweet mother of Mercury. What a WOLFTACULAR story and a half!!! I have read a lot of shifter books, sometimes experiencing the shift with them, but none of them resembling this! The power behind Gwen's storytelling combined with the vivid, detailed descriptions brought not only the story to life around me, but also every little bit that Juniper experienced as well! The discovery of her wolf, their first introduction to each other, how her senses blossom to life for her, has me COMPLETELY convinced that that is EXACTLY how it all truly feels to BE a werewolf, to BECOME a werewolf!! SIGN ME UP!!!! I love, Love, LOVE ALL of the Canadian touches, scenery & landmarks!! Jasper truly is a beautiful place and I think Gwen not only captured that beauty but transferred it perfectly into the story, bringing it all to life around me and bringing back a lot of cool memories of my short time there too!! Unfortunately, I wasn't there as a Wolf, nor did I find their community either. *dejected sigh* Now that I know about them, I will have to look harder! Maybe Gwen can introduce us! wink I have just finished reading - over & over, back-to-back multiple times - Death by Mistletoe and I love, Love, LOVE it, so to now read about the one non-main character that captured my attention & intrigued me, well let's just say that I am BEYOND love, Love, LOVING Death by Chocolate just as much!! What Juniper will do, what lengths she'll go to, all in order to "fit in", become a FULL member of the pack and capture the heart of the one Wolf she thinks she can never have as she is, well, I admire the hell out of her and THOROUGHLY & IMMENSELY adored her story too!! I feel like I went through the wringer - emotionally and to an extent, even physically, that is how much I truly felt like I did way more than "just" read a story! It's the PERFECT "follow-up" story, the most WONDERFURRY story to continue this magical series!! I sincerely hope that Gwen continues this series and my only regret is that there isn't enough holidays to curse!! LOL But with her FURNOMENAL talent & natural gift for creating such WOLFLICIOUS stories, I know that ANY book Gwen writes, it will be a great one, one I will read over & over again, losing myself in the story, becoming the complex characters, living their story as if it was my own, and like all of her other books (I have read all but one and that is next on my list!) it will completely, wholly and utterly consume me - mind, body, heart & soul!!

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

I completely adore this series and i swear that this author's talent for writing just better and better!!! This book is an extremely addictive read, drawing you into this world, its startling clarity making this world unbelievably real to the reader!!!

I adored this storyline i couldn't stop reading!!!Once you startthis book you get that hooked on this book that you can't stop reading, it's that addictive!!! There is something about this storyline that just warms your heart and you feel for the different characters and their situations. It is written in such a way that you really feel this story!

From the first chapter i loved Juniper. I think all people we all have something about ourselves that we would love to change and because of this i really related to her character, you feel her pain and loss and the desperation that she feels. It shows her strength of character that she is still the strong woman that she is after dealing with people's reaction to her her whole life. She loves hugely and is extremely loyal to those that she cares about. Now what can we say about Mathis...he is a character i could read about all day!!! He is an amazing Alpha, leading through loyalty anad not fear, he keeps his thoughts close to himself but when he opens his heart, his love is so complete and protective he will do anthing fo that person.

I can't recommend this book highly enough, i absolutely adored this book and it is well deserving of 5*!!!!

After reading Rumor and Knox's story I wanted to read about Juniper. I gotta be honest and say I liked this way better. It was more well rounded and we got to know the characters pretty well. Although I will say I'd like to have known Mathis a little more it was enough for this novella. I really felt for Juniper. Its not easy being different and being judged your whole life. She was alone until she was adopted by wonderful people but she was still lonely because she's a wolf that cant shift. Always on the outside looking in. People in her pack are particularly cruel to her. Mathis stepped up to be alpha since Conrad was forced out because of his actions in the first book. She's always had a thing for Mathis but knows she can never have him as she is. I mean who wants to be mated to a shiftless wolf? She doesnt even know what Mathis feels because he's never really engaged her. She finds a way and her desperation doesnt end well. Will she get her wish or will she be doomed to being a lone wolf losing her humanity and never having Matias?

Funny and sweet

Death by Chocolate reads as if Juniper's a dear friend relating her tale directly to you - or as if you've found her diary and are sneaking a peak. Either way, the voice is highly engaging and impossible not to read in one sitting.

Love this

I know these books are meant to be quick reads but I really wish they were longer. I was looking forward to see how their mating ceremony went and her first pack run. I did like their love story and what she went thru to be complete for her.

A Valentine's Day wedding and nothing could be sweeter, unless you are a shiftless shifter in a pack. Juniper feels like an outcast in the one place she should feel the safest. She is also very much in love and sure that nothing will come of it unless she can find her own wolf. Mathis is the Alpha and much older than Juniper, he has been waiting a long time to claim his mate. However, thanks to an angry lil old witch, he may just lose her forever. I loved this book and can't wait to read the next one in the series. I also hope that one day there is a couple that can maybe repair some of the pain caused Conrad and the Fae.

In Death by Chocolate we find two characters I can't help but like. Juniper has been shunned by her pack for not being able to shift, she just wants to fit in and not be looked down on. She has a strong personality and makes up her mind to change her fate. Mathis just wants to do what's right by his pack and the young woman he is infatuated with. This well written tale of insecurity and defiance in a fun paranormal setting makes you hopeful for the real world.

I voluntarily reviewed this advanced reader copy and I have not been compensated in any way.

Juniper, even though she was born to werewolf parents, cannot shift and so is a null. She is desperate to fit in and get the man she has loved for years so she does a bargain with a witch - she gets two chocolates to change her into a werewolf and in return she owes the witch a favour. However, as is often the case, it doesn't quite work how it should have. Can the pack alpha Mathis, save the situation.

I loved this story - it was sweet (in more ways than one) . It was a well written story and had lots of drama and excitement. I loved the concept of the story and the end results of all that drama.

Really cute book, search for a witch and become a wolf.
Ok, problems galore, and a hot alpha wolf shifter. What is wrong with that, a swoon worth cute fast read. Can't wait to read another one of Gwen's books in this series.
Standalone novel but would be more enjoyable if you have been following the series.
