I wasn’t supposed to lust after my brother’s two best friends.
I certainly wasn’t supposed to lust over their brother, who’s ten years older.
I wasn’t supposed to break up with my boyfriend of two years at my birthday party.
I definitely wasn’t supposed to lose my virginity that same night or do it all over again the next morning.
I wasn’t supposed to move in with the three men that drive me insane, while also making my panties wet after I’m kicked out of my apartment.
And I really shouldn’t be falling for them.

What can I say? I’m a sucker for blue eyes and crooked smiles.

This book is a Standalone Contemporary RH romance. There is strong language, and sexual content. Intended for readers 18+

Spoilers ahead.

This book was difficult to get through. The first several chapters were awkward and came off very juvenile. Almost as if a young teen had written it.
The twins are also extremely gross throughout at least half of the book. I don’t care what her inner monologue was. She said no. They never respected it. That’s some extremely rapey shit and I don’t like that a girl saying no, repeatedly over the course of two years, isn’t respected at all.

Greyson gives me the creeps. She’s eighteen, so the age factor doesn’t matter. As long as it’s two CONSENTING adults, who cares. However, nothing was consensual about him using his authority as her professor to make demands and then sexually assaulting her in his office, because let’s face it, that’s what it was when he bent her over his desk and spanked her.

The twins don’t make any sense. They are so hurt and so in love with Violet, yet they have no problems sleeping around before and after they took her virginity? Yeah, okay. Then they needed time to make sure they truly wanted to be with her so they ignored her for three weeks? That’s crap.
Especially since they came home and nobody spoke to her at all until she packed her bags to leave.

Why does everyone keep screwing without a condom and zero talk of birth control, STDs, or past partners? It’s so gross and unrealistic.

She also doesn’t have her license, it makes it a point of mentioning that, yet she drives and rents a car? This book contradicts itself so much that it doesn’t even make sense.

The ending was entirely rushed.
The whole book was a bunch of back and forth drama, with an epilogue that somewhat smoothed it out and then time hopped a ton.

I don’t know how this mess got so many high reviews, but I wasn’t impressed.

Violet has had a crush on her next-door neighbor since she hit her teens. The problem? Ten years older than she is, hot, and sweet, Grayson has a girlfriend and he sees her as a child. Then there are his younger brothers, twins Logan and Luke, her brother's best friends who seem to make it their mission to keep her in a constant state of sexual tension. Violet gives in one night and then panics and ghosts them all. So when a mix-up leaves them all college roommates, Violet's life becomes significantly more complicated. And the complications just keep coming.

Stop reading if you don't want spoilers, however, I can't rate a book this low without a detailed explanation. >>>

Violet has one healthy relationship in this book with a member of the opposite sex. It's with her brother. Grayson has a drinking problem because his girlfriend of 8 years cheated on him. It's never made clear if he got over her. Does he drink because he is heartbroken or because he was burned? As far as I could tell, he only wanted to have sex with Violet and could only admit that when drunk. The twins professed to love Violet since they were 16. Now that didn't keep them from tag-teaming other girls whenever the chance came up. Even after telling her when they lived together they still flirted and picked up girls in every scene. They alternated between being nasty, being overtly sexual, or ignoring Violet. Again, all I was sure about is they appreciated her boobs and wanted to have sex. Then comes the 3-week silence, the cross-country pregnancy move, and BOOM, happily ever after. NO, NO, NO. They ignored her for 3 weeks; couldn't even bother to answer a text. She chases them back and forth from town to town and then finally sees them again and none of them even speak to her. Not one word. To make it better Grayson's ex is there and she is talking. She runs out and no one tries to stop her. Screams forever love, doesn't it?? They found out she's pregnant. Even knowing she was a virgin before the twins, has been living with them, and having sex with all of them, they assume the baby is someone else's. Brilliant. Who wouldn't want these three? Forget about love; I'm not sure there was any affection or even friendship between Violet and these guys. Add in the fact, this book utilized my very least favorite trope in literature - the lack of any meaningful communication and I struggled not to throw my Kindle. There was not one significant conversation between the guys and Violet at any time during their relationship. At no time did I ever believe they loved her. This bothered me so much, I am only adding the best friend alternating name Katie/Kat as an afterthought.

I do not really like to do this, because a book is a lot of work. The author writes, rewrites and perfects it. Then do editing on it. Gives it away to readers, who again edit it. So the author has to correct it and then the professional editor adds their five cents. And it’s back to editing for the author.

But this book was lacking. There was a lack of story, the drama was lacking communication between the MCs. I finished it barely, mainly because I don’t want to use a dnf for a reading challenge in the RHR group. For me the first part was about Violet losing her virginity. It was pretty fast burn with a lot of smut. And then I there was the relationship drama with lots of misunderstanding. All persons were more immature than I expected for people their age.

So as much as it hurts me to rate it like this, this book is a 2 star book. And I am being generous here.

A steamy and turbulent take of love and misunderstandings!

I loved Violet. She was portrayed so well as a 18 year old girl trying to reconcile her ever growing feelings for the brothers with her childhood annoyance with them. Luke and Logan were perfect twins in the sense that you got the feel that they were two sides of the same coin and Grayson was the right amount of danger and security all wrapped up into one.

My only real wishes for the book was that there was more POV from the men, I wanted more of what was going through their head during the 3 weeks with their mom and then when Violet was with her brother and Katie. I also wish we got a little more time to see them progress as a couple. The book felt like mostly a lead up to a spectacular romance but then the epilogues kind of just tied it all up with a bow. I wanted more time with them.

Other than that, it was the perfect about of spice and drama that I love from my RH's!

I received this book free from the author and am voluntarily leaving this review!

Wow.

I loved this book. The chemistry is crazy hot. Right from the beginning. There is a journey and a buildup that makes all the angst worth it. I love the charters and the growth from beginning to end. And as for the story! Violet was awesome. She was such a fun head strong FMC. The guys all had there own personal connection and loved that. The relationship never felt forced and it all flowed so well. I believe this is a must read. Highly recommend!!!

I'm going to DNF this. The writing is pretty immature and amateurish and needs a lot of polish. The begging of the books is very awkward and does random time jumps with no warning making it all very confusing on what is going on. The conversations do not flow well and the interactions are not really consistent with people that have known each other pretty much their whole lives.

There was a genuine sweetness to Violet (FMC) in this book that was endearing i thought. She had an unrequited crush on her older neighbour - Grayson only he already had a GF but his twin brothers - Luke & Logan (Violet's brothers friends) had their own crushes on her. Which she was completely obvious to.

Violet's story is a roller coaster ride of ups and downs that start when she gives into Luke & Logan for one steamy night which complicates things for her. This is a bittersweet story with some laughs, tears and plenty of steamy scenarios. It was a great read that i really enjoyed reading so much

Really good!

This book has been on my TBR for what seems like a long time. I honestly loved reading this book. It let me wanting to know what's happens next. 3 dudes all on love with the main protagonist, best part - they're all brothers; 2 twins and one older (10yrs older than the main protagonist). Now I saw some comments that people didn't like the pregnancy trope at all or how it was written. And to be honest I didn't mind it I thought it was sell written in my opinion. Overall definitely recut his book.

It was cute. Not really following the fake concern the author seemed to make us want to think something was going to come me between Vi and her brother. Seriously, all through the book, she kept reassuring the readers how she would always have his support, and nothing could EVER come between them... So many times, I really thought something was going too...

I also think I that the guys should have told Vi how they felt about seeing her with Eli and we should have read her response.

But if you have an extra hour, then it's a cute little book.

A Touch Of Violet by Kira Roman is a standalone contemporary reverse harem romance.

The book does come with a caution "This story contains adult sexual content and mature language. This book is intended for readers eighteen years and older."

I absolutely love Kira's books! This is the first book of hers that is not a paranormal romance and she knocked it out of the park. I binged the book in one sitting. I loved the relationship between Violet, Luke, Logan, and Grayson. I really enjoyed that we got all of their points of view throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

I would highly recommend this book if you like reverse harems or contemporary romances.

Sexy little book with a lot of miscommunication but a HEA. I did feel that Sophie forced them together but that they otherwise would have needed more time to grow their relationship. Especially with Gray as I felt that there was to little background to really explain or showcase the depth of his feelings.

This was a sweet and sexy RH romp full of tension. I really enjoyed the story and the chemistry that Violet exhibited with all three of the men, except I really dislike the miscommunication trope and so the conflicts in the story bothered me a little bit, otherwise I would have given this five stars. It was hot, well written, and a good story!

Not as bad as I was expecting from previous reviews, but it will never win a literary award. What spice there was, was hot. I possibly didn't buy the entire storyline, but still enjoyed this quickish read. 3.5 stars!

Oh my god. This book is just so fucking…high school.
That’s really the only way I can describe it.
It’s immature and all the characters are so young and they all act even younger.

The jealousy and the indecisiveness, I just can’t take it anymore.

Cute

This book started out good but ended kind of rushed and didn't really have an antagonist. There wasn't any danger or bad guys. It was a simple tell of a teen girl falling in love with three brothers. Although, it got naughty, and I squealed like a little girl a couple of times at the romance between her and her men. I wished there was more than just conflict and miss understandings that held them back.
I enjoyed the protagonist, though, and her snarky attitude. Even if she kept leading guys on while in denial about her love for the brothers. That and you know, not wanting to choose only one of them. Stuff happens though, but I'm glad it works out. I personally would love to see more character building to tip this book over the edge. It was good, but it could have been great. I recommend this book to the readers that like reading about relationship drama. It's cute.

I absolutely loved this book and these characters. Violet is strong willed and when she finally lets go she freaks out and avoids the happiness that’s waiting for but she scared to trust it . I wish there was more to this book because of how much I loved it .

There is a lot of things working against this book for me.

Violet, the FMC is incredibly unlikable and frankly, the guys aren't much better.

She's whiny and selfish, the twins come off as gross by constantly touching and teasing a girl that may want them, but has been fairly consistent in saying no. By fairly, I mean by the standards of this book and not in any sort of actual real world realilty. The eldest brother's ex is painted in a bad light as a cheater, which is 100% fair but I don't know anyone who'd be OK with their significant other sleeping in the same bed as two boys who have been very vocal about wanting to have sex with them.

As for the eldest brother, age gap doesn't bother me as long as its written well and this is not. She is very much a young, immature girl with a crush and while Greyson is in a drunk-phase, he is still a Professor and the balance of power is to far tilted.

The first sliver of the book focuses on how he sees her in an age appropriate manner so we the reader have literally no idea or understanding of how he came to see her in this new light, particularly when she as a character hasn't seemed to have changed at all between scenes.

The bad-fanfic style of writing that has numerous gramatical errors and typos does not help. Plus there are a lot of things that just as realistic or believable.

There is literally no way that its impossible to tell that she's braless with D sized breasts. She knows the twins share girls yet she doesn't insist on a condom and just as shocking, don't even attempt to use one with her.

Caring about someone beyond sex means protecting them, from both STD's and unwanted pregnancies and since they assume they're a throuple after having sex, there is no excuse for the twins to have not brought it up or even the elder brother who had even more motivation to make sure everyone involved was protected.

And I get it, this is a fantasy and must get old for writers and even readers, having to make a point of saying they are grabbing a condom each and every time but not having any sort of protection brought up at all, especially when characters, particularly young characters, are sleeping around is so much worse.

Ultimately I DNF'ed at 35%.

2.5 stars. This was a fast burn/fast read. It felt like the author tried to include every romance trope out there including age gap, student-teacher, twins, virgin fmc, pregnancy. All of that was squeezed into approximately 200 pages so there wasn't enough time to really tease out angst or anticipation with any of it. The characters had some good chemistry but the story was lacking much in the way of plot. The conflict in the story felt immature. I will say that I loved how the author added multiple epilogues, taking us forward into the future in several stages. That's a great idea I wish more authors did.

I nearly never give under 3 stars for a rating. Under 3 stars means a book was so bad, that I couldn't read or stand it. And that doesn't mean only from the plot point. I'm not one for blaming others for misspellings or something. Because I know an author is only human and can't possibly find all mistakes. The same applies to the editors and readers. It's a constant process. And mistakes happens. And I never has a case, where a book has that many mistakes, that I couldn't understand what's going on. Only some confusing moments. But that's all.

But that wasn't the issue with this book. So, what I mentioned before, is mostly FYI. So, the readers of my rating understand, that my rating starts at 3 stars. 3 stars is for me average reading. It doesn't necessarily mean a book is bad, just, that I had some issues in whatever form.

A Touch of Violet wasn't a bad book. Not in the common sense. But it was a really typical plot, without something outstanding or something new. So, I can't say the idea behind the plot is bad. Only that it wasn't something unique. The plot itself was partially unnecessary.

Meaning, some issues the characters have, felt artificial and not essential. It only served the means, that the plot was longer and not solved fast.

And my main problem was for me the lacking communication between the main characters. I mean, all the misunderstanding could have been solved directly. And Violet was a piece of work. She doesn't make sense for me.

For example. In the first part of the books. Her birthday party. She breaks up with Tristan. Then she ends up with the twins. And in the morning, they tell her, they want to be with her. But she says she is overwhelmed and needs time to think. That would have been ok. I mean, the twins didn't talk about their intentions with her. But then she bails and ghosts them.

After she sees them again, she says to herself, she can’t be with them together because that would hurt them and break their brotherly bond. And that she wants them to find girls they don’t have to share. At that point, I got really confused. She didn’t talk with them. I know if you are young, you do a lot of stupid things. Life is full of stupid decisions. The story is immature. What is okay, because the twins and Violet are only 18. And in her case I do see some mental issues. Her brother doesn't do relationships, because he is afraid of being left. And she did probably feel like she isn't good enough - or not reason enough - that somebody would stay for her. So, I did give her some slack.

But I really had a hard time during reading. Another quote, after she moved in with the Hayes brothers. And her brother, she and them go to a club. At some point, she talks with Grayson. He says something like, it's ok if you don't want them. And she says, I quote it, “I can’t explain to Grayson that it’s not that I don’t want them, the problem is that I want both of them.” This was, too, after a scene on the dance floor, where she sees them with other girls and gets jealous. And she tries to kiss a random guy, she doesn’t feel anything for,  to get them out of her system. But the twins get in and prevent that. And she’s running off. And then she thinks that it was anyway a bad decision, because it would hurt them more, and that is a stupid thing to do.  Also using another person for that. She should know better.

And at that point I thought constantly, that the problem is artificial. Because there isn’t an issue with the twins. They said to her that they want her both. That they want to share her. And they have talked about it. The only one she doesn’t know about at the moment is Grayson. And his reason is that she is 10 years younger than him and that he is fucked up. Again, some of that reasoning isn't a real issue.

But the whole thing, could have been avoided from the start, if she didn’t bail and actually talked with them. She has no reason, only herself, not to do that. Even her best friend didn't see an issue. It's only Violet's act of denial. It is like she is trying to sabotage herself.

And then her brother warns her away from them, and she is like “It’s a proof that he would never approve of them.”

I could get behind the Hayes brothers more. The twins were immature, too. I don't argue about that. But at least they stand for, what they want. Grayson was another story. He wasn't per se immature. I mean, he is 10 years older than them. But he has an alcohol problem - because of a break-up. And, of course, he denied that he wants her. And Violet and Grayson didn't actually talk about a relationship.

So, that was another kind of issue. But again: If they had talked, they could have solved it.

And that is the central theme of the whole book. Even at the end, as they go visit Sophia. They didn't write Violet back, because they don't want to be distracted. And she immediately thinks, they reject her. Again, if they have written her, that they don't want to write because of the situation. There wouldn't been a difficulty. And the Maggie situation would have been gone differently, too.

Overall, that was the biggest lack in the entire plot. That could have been written better. Is a pity. So, for me, it was an okay read. I could enjoy it to some degree. I didn't dnf. And luckily, it wasn't a long book, either.
