I used to hunt monsters, back when life was simple. In the explosive sequel to Striker X, the galaxy has shifted beneath Vex’s feet. Sentient beasts still pour out of the rift, threatening elves and dwarves alike, but they are no longer the greatest threat. Acting against the corrupt politician Morange has upended Vex’s entire life. He has had to flee the Interplanetary Galactic Force—and be taken in by his old enemies, the paramilitary Red Rogue Alliance.

The Alliance, hell-bent on freeing the galaxies from the IGF, wants to train Vex to be their figurehead and assassin. But if he takes on their mission, it will mean assuming a new identity, surviving brutal training, and diving undercover deeper than ever into the cesspool of the IGF. From a hostile orc world to a brutal prison planet, from shocking enemies to unexpected allies, nothing is what it seems. And, as the cyber realm and the real world continue to merge, every player has their own game.

The success of the entire revolution rests on Vex’s shoulders. He has no choice but to fight on.

My mind is a chaotic place to dwell. The dark thoughts that clamor for freedom spill out onto the pages of art. Enter the mind of a Bipolar author.

Several people have asked me why I bother to write in the first place. Some say it is a dying art form, while other claim it is simply a waste of time if I want to be rich. Truth be told, I write because that is what I have been called to do.

Mental illness is a topic that still has stigma attached to it and I wish to aid in the removal of said stigma. My novel The Unworthy Blood Knight is a prime example of that. Ultimately, creating art is a form of healing for both the reader and the writer. Hopefully, you join me on this journey and allow our minds to intertwine.

“Striker Y” is the second book in the “The Bold and Deceptive” series by Negus Lamont, and I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

As a sequel, “Striker Y” built brilliantly on the first book, while also upping the stakes for each of our characters. Whether it’s Vex and Sansa’s exile, the political maneuvering of Grand Inquisitor Morange, or the shameless double-dealing of Allison/Sugar Cane, the reader is completely immersed in the action from the first page until the last.

Negus Lamont’s writing is both accessible and easy to read, while also being smart, sharp and at times, brutally unflinching (and I mean that in the best way possible).

While I do not have much experience when it comes to reading sci-fi books, I can honestly say that “The Bold and Deceptive” series is definitely a worthwhile read, whether you’re a veteran of the genre, or just looking to explore it for the first time!

Negus Lamont has crafted a fully-realized world, complete with compelling characters, breathtaking yet brutal action, and a uniquely original premise that is unlike anything I’ve personally ever read.

I can’t wait to read the next two books in the series, and I highly recommend to anyone looking for a mature, engrossing sci-fi read!

Special thanks to Negus Lamont for sending this book my way!

this one well really well written and I really found the storyline rather enjoyable. I really enjoyed many of the characters and I look forward to seeing what happens next in this world. Id have to say that Leaky Faucet is my favorite among all of the characters and I look forward to seeing what becomes of her!
