Born in a rural town in New Brunswick, Canada, Roxanne has always been a covert writer. With her recent down time from work she was finally able to focus her efforts into writing the many stories flowing through her mind from over the years.
Roxanne may have fallen in love with the written word later than most author’s but enjoys it so much that she was able to read over four hundred titles last year alone. She thinks there is nothing better than to curl up with a good book on a cold winter's day and reading until the book is complete.
Married for over twenty years to her best friend, Justin, they lead a fairly quiet life with their nineteen-year-old son, Nicholas. When Roxanne isn't working full time as a receptionist, she can be found doing her new favorite thing in the world, writing.
This story kickstarts the Stone brothers adventures into steamy romantic entanglements. In book one, the story begins with Juniper Wells and Phoenix Stone. Juniper is a beautiful, affluent, orphaned adult who lost her entire family in a tragic plane crash when she was 18. Phoenix is the oldest of 4 Stone brothers. Incredibly sexy, tall, obscenely rich, and a womanizer. Can they fight their insta-lust? Is the tingling they feel that magical forever feeling? Can Phoenix commit to anyone, after watching his friends suffer at the hands of awful women? Can they convert their paper marriage into a real family with love forevermore? All in all, the story moves along at a quick pace. It’s a straight-line plot, split between both MC perspectives. Several times, the plot sets up to take a predictable twist and - yep! MCs bend to genre norms. Ex: MM runs away from commitment as soon as love is mentioned. MF shoulders everything and tries to run away from feelings/start new. Obviously there is a massive screw up that induces the “big fight” and voila, all expected patterns repeat. Despite that, I still found the story and characters interesting. I’ll give a bit of grace that because it’s book one, there was a lot of character intros to set up future books. Now, as to the romance factor: this story dives over the edge of steamy and gets to boiling hot! There is constant sexual activity - these two go at it nonstop. Thank goodness she has a nanny to watch her perfectly behaved 2-yr old, they have a housekeeper, a full security detail, and a multi-story mansion. Thankfully my eyes didn’t get stuck rolling into the back of my head at the ludicrousness of their life. I like a good steamy story, but even these two were just not interesting. It was repetitive and not necessary (for me) to have more than a few very graphic descriptions of fellatio. Every sexual scene was rushed; I think to convey the “need” but really just not imaginative enough after the first few times. And I’ll give you a dollar if you can hold back the guffaw during the scene where Phoenix finds a random hot chick, has sex, screams another woman’s name, and just casually and efficiently propositions her to be his “f*ck buddy.” She agrees, willingly, of course. I died. So funny. All in all, this is a 3 star story. Even with a cliffhanger ending I’m not really too excited to find book 2 and see how it goes. I assume it’ll be ok *lol* Thanks to #netgalley for a free eARC in exchange for an honest review. My opinions are my own.
🔥💎 REVIEW: A Seductive, High-Stakes Romance That Sets the Pages on Fire 💎🔥
When lust, greed, and unbridled passion collide, you don’t just get a love story, you get a wild, intoxicating rollercoaster… and this book delivers it all with heat, heart, and high drama.
Phoenix Stone and Juniper Wells are magnetic. From the moment they meet, their chemistry is electric and impossible to ignore. He’s a power player in real estate. She’s a guarded socialite with razor-sharp instincts and undeniable charm. Together? Explosive. Their connection is raw, messy, passionate, and yet laced with emotional tension that pulls you in deeper with every chapter.
What I love most about this story is how it balances steamy desire with real stakes, mistrust, ambition, family legacy, and personal scars that won’t heal easily. Add in a cliffhanger that’ll leave you breathless, and you've got the perfect start to what promises to be a scorching series.
To the author: You’ve created characters that live off the page. This book isn’t just spicy, it’s smart, addictive, and dangerously honest about the chaos love can bring when two powerful personalities collide. Bravo.
📖 If you’re looking for a sexy, high drama romance with bite, this one is unmissable.
I was captivated by Juniper and Phoenix and really got into the story in the beginning. They were great characters and the story drew me in. I loved that Phoenix stepped up when Juniper and her son, Cross, needed him. Unfortunately, half way through the book, it went downhill and dragged on to a dreaded cliffhanger ending. Because Phoenix' brothers each had a bad relationship, he decides he is never getting serious about a woman. It seemed an immature rationale and the author played on it to create angst, where there shouldn't have been any. He also lost me when he runs away from Cross and his promises just because Juniper's feelings changed. As it got closer to the end of the book, he went from a strong character to one crying about everything.
At the end of it all, an author should always disclose the existence of a cliffhanger ending. I would not have picked up the book had I known.
This one was okay. The writing didn't really capture me and suck me in like I had hoped. Don't get me wrong, lots of romance readers will love this one, it just never hooked me. The pacing was all over the place, the plot was jam packed with way too many twists, turns and tropes to have them all feel well placed and have time dedicated to them to make them feel realistic. Good steamy scenes, several trigger warnings. A dangerous ex, one night stands, pregnancy, weddings, and assaults. Insta-love and an HEA round it all out. The characters felt a little flat and their romance just never seemed to have the spark I wanted. Phoenix wasn't a fantastic leading man, he was kind of a jerk, especially calling out another woman's name, but yet women seem to fawn all over him. Juniper isn't very realistic either with her perfect life, well behaved kid and enough money for a nanny so she can go be with her man. It was fine and okay, just never took off.
Phoenix stone by Roxanne Leblanc, is the first book of the stone brothers series. I was captivated by Juniper and Phoenix and really got into the story the great characters and the story drew me in. This book resulted in mixed feelings for me. Emotions went from “oh my”, to questioning who the characters were in the book, to boredom. Although it did have a suspenseful ending, Juniper and Phoenix's story was left hanging and I am not sure why the author didn’t give them the ending they deserved. That it was a cliffhanger did not help either.
Roxanne out did herself with her first novel. This book starts the tale of the Stone Brothers. The characters are portrayed very nicely, and described very detailed. I was impressed with the steamy romance, also the suspense keeps you on the edge of your seat. The love story will toggle your heart strings as the series goes on! Keep on writing!!!!
Phoenix stone by Roxanne Leblanc. Book 1 of the stone brothers series. This was a good read. I loved the cover and that's what drew me to this book. I wasn't sure if I liked Phoenix or not. I loved Juniper. I'm looking forward to the next book. 5*.
The book started great with the tension between Juniper and Phoenix. It was incredible from the first time they lay eyes on each other and the attraction was instant but each of them was fighting it for their own reasons.
Juniper is a single mother to 2-year-old Cross and she is very careful of who enters his life so she has been single since conceiving him.
Phoenix is the eldest of the Stone brothers, he is fond of his single life and does not was to love or commit like EVER!
I liked most of the characters, especially Phoenix's brothers. There were moments when I was smiling from the funny dialogue.
A lot of twists and turns in this novel which I enjoyed mostly except that the love scenes kept repeating and it seems they turned into bunnies. It was just too much and with nothing new. The unnecessary angst Pheonix was dealing with was annoying and the ending was rushed with a cliffhanger. I might continue with the series since the other brothers are interesting.
