I never thought I’d be rescued by the one that got away…
A simple woodsy hike turns terrifying when I twist my ankle and a freak snowstorm moves in. I’m sure I’m a goner. Then Vince swoops in for the rescue. I can’t believe my eyes. In college, I was sure he was love of my life. Until he betrayed me and walked away a wealthy man. I can’t trust him again. Now I’m stuck in a remote cabin with him during a snow storm and my old feelings roar back to life. I should resist, but the feelings I have are stronger than anything I’ve ever felt.
Vince and Dimini are fated mates. They met, and fell in love, 9 years ago. But her family, being controlling jerks, split them up. Vince managed to move forward with his life, but he was never really whole. Fate has intervened and brought these two star crossed lovers together again. Now the only question is whether Dimini can stand up for herself and live her best life with her mate.
I thought the book was ok. I didn’t hate it as much as the previous books, and I only wanted to throat punch Dimini once or twice - which is some kind of a record for me with this series. I admit that it was nice to see how fast they were able to move past their hurts and begin to explore a renewed relationship together.
Apparently, this is the final book in this series. On the one hand, I’m glad because all the MFC in these books were problematic. At least for me. I did like all the dragons. So to have all of the remaining 4 dragon’s outcomes revealed in the final chapter was a bit of a letdown. I was curious about Dom and Theo. Curious enough that even though I wasn’t enamored with this series, I probably would have read their stories.
While I really liked the dragons in this series, I still wouldn’t recommend it. There are so many other good series, why waste your time on one where you will more than likely spend most of your time wanting to throat punch the MFC? Life is too short for that.
Damini went on what should have been a simple hike when a twisted ankle made it a potential death sentence! There was no one around and now a freak snowstorm is coming. With no shelter, it was a terrifying thought! Jessica would probably send someone out to check on why Damini hadn’t made it to her destination… hopefully. Why had she been so stubborn? She hobbled up and leaned on a tree to check her phone, but there was no signal. It was even colder standing up, with the wind blowing all around. She wasn’t even sure if she could find her way back the way she came!
Hearing a sound, she saw a heavy sheet of snow break off from the mountain crest and begin to slide as an avalanche threatened to bury her! She started to hobble as fast as possible between trees when she heard wings and Vince Orlando, in dragon form, was flying to her! At least she hoped it was Vince… as he snatched her up in his claws. Even the dragon was struggling, not only with seeing through the heavy snow but with it piling up on his wings regardless of how he continued to flap them as he flew.
When he landed next to a cabin, he set her down and they went inside. She hadn’t seen him for a long time. Her parents hadn’t want her dating a dragon shifter and told her they paid him off to leave, which he did. They changed her email and phone number and moved to Boston. She couldn’t love anyone else, though, so she had not dated much since. He broke her heart, but it apparently still belonged to him. It hurt her, though, that he would choose money over her. The truth was that her family had simply taken her away from him, lied to her, and left without a word. So each now was keeping silent about what drove them apart for 9 years. Each thought the other had not cared enough to stay. Would either finally bring up the topic they dreaded talking about? If someone didn’t, would they end up walking away again and missing the chance to love each other again?
I loved Vince’s character in the story. He was so honorable and cared so much. Damini was still angry and hurt over what she thought was his choice of money over love. She needed to find the courage to ask him why, especially after he saved her life. What would she do? Grab your copy and find out in this well-written story.
Vince and Damini were a couple while she was in college and he in the Army. Then Vince was going to ask for permission to marry Damini when her mother threatened him. First she offered him a large cheque, when he refused it she said if he didn’t leave she would frame him for a murder. So he left and didn’t see her again for nine years. Then his dragon wanted him to fly he didn’t know why as a storm was coming. Damini had gone hiking when the storm hit and she’d hurt her ankle. She was still trying to make it back down when the snow gave way and she fell. Vince found her and took her to a nearby cabin to wait out the storm. Together them realised they had both been played by her mother who was still trying to run her life. I’ll let you read the rest to see if they get back together or not.

The story was good and there was enough action. Our separated lovers get a second chance at happily ever after. A couple of issues with the book. On multiple occasions, inexplicably, the main character repeats thoughts, verbatim, like the author is offering up new information. That felt repetitive and unnecessary. Second, for a dragon, this hero seemed kinda wimpy and the heroine is awfully immature for 30. Lastly, during the wrap up, the author has the main male character give a synopsis of other character’s stories, with enough detail that I don’t have any need to read the next in series.

I always look forward to the next book in this series, and this one did not disappoint. I always get worried with second chance stories, because they’re not my favorite, but I was wrapped up in this story (and the characters) from the very first exciting chapter. Can not wait for the next amazing dragon to get his story. Don’t hesitate to read this book y’all! FYI, it can be read as a standalone book, but the story will just flow better for you if you’ve read the other books.

Damini and Vince years ago were separated by her parents and lied to. She went to see her friend from college but she went hiking got lost and twisted her ankle. Vince’s dragon kept at him until he did what his dragon wanted and found Damini riding an avalanche down in a snowstorm. He grabbed her and bearly made to a cabin and be safe, got snowed in and talked about what happened years ago. Her parents tried to do that again but finally she got the courage and stood up to them. She and Vince stayed together yay! Loved the book!
Damini and Vince had young love in college until her snotty parents got in the way because they didn't like Vince, Damini was broken hearted. Now nine years later Damini is in town visiting a friend. Vince is a dragon shifter who has a business with his clan called Dragons for Hire. They meet again when Damini ends up in trouble after a hike in the snow. Can these two get a second chance at love? Will her parents try and cause problems again? Will there be a HEA?
Sadie Sears has managed to provide another Entertaining story in this latest addition to the Dragons for Hire series. I thought that this second chance romance was well done and had endearing characters that kept me reading.

I have sped through these books and I hope she writes more because I have loved getting to know this dragon shift clan. I love that she addressed the fact that wealth and perceived class are still issues in relationships. I loved seeing the two main characters have uninterrupted time alone at the very beginning of the book.
Vince & Damini have a very interesting story! Love lost, love found. Destiny doesn't mean you don't have to work for it. Anything worth having is worth the effort! Thank you for your time, talent and THE STORIES!
I’m equally happy and disappointed that the other guys won’t get their own books. I was invested enough in the characters that I wanted to finish the series but it was getting a bit frustrating and predictable.
This has been an amazing series. This is book four and it is just amazing as the previous stories. The characters are likeable and fit well together. A great read.
Don’t get me wrong I like the book, but it would’ve been better if I had a better ending! I just got into this series and it ends in the most stupidest way ever
