Every single person has a story. We have all been through unique experiences that have challenged us, shaped us, and ultimately taught us. This book was written by 25-year-old Sarah Gifford, reflecting upon life this far. This book poses the questions, ‘Why do we struggle through periods in life?’ ‘Why do we make things harder than they need to be?’ Sarah simply got tired of doing things just because that’s the way it was done, and because that’s what she had been conditioned to desire throughout her upbringing. It seems that we feel as if we need to enjoy certain things, have certain goals and ambitions, etc. in order to be ‘normal’. This book works to uncover why we feel this way, and how we can overcome this barrier, to live our extraordinary lives to the fullest.
Sarah Gifford was born and raised in a suburb of Columbus, Ohio. Still living in the greater Columbus area, Sarah now works in the corporate world and is constantly brainstorming how to make the world and our human experience a little brighter.
What. A. Book!! If you’re on your journey to finding and becoming your best self, this book is for you. The author provides tremendous insight to embracing vulnerability and feelings. She leverages this in a way to present real life, every day moments and opportunities to allow us to continually grow and become comfortable in our own skin. Sarah equips the reader with new tools to add to their belt along with several laugh out loud moments. No matter where you’re at on your journey, this book is for you.
Sarah's vulnerability and ability to normalize the feelings that I think a lot of us struggled with in our youth and still do struggle with in our early/mid-twenties is truly so admirable. Guess that's why she called the book "Normal" right? Thank you Sarah for putting yourself out there with this book - you deserve all the love and appreciation your friends have been sending your way ever since its release and I hope there is more where this came from in the near future :)
An interesting and well written book! It’s not just a book, it’s a workbook, you’re writing portions of the book so it’s definitely a great book to come back to in the future. Take it seriously and it will change or maintain your life. Reading a book is really the smallest portion of a book like this, you really must put into action what you read. Make yourself accountable by setting a date to reread.
My tool belt is full and it feels so good! Implemented the tools in my life and now I feel much happier, less anxious and more grateful. If you are looking for a book to jump-start you into 2021 - this is it! It is insightful, genuine, and life-changing. I appreciate the author sharing her journey through life with us. In my opinion, it is very relatable to Gen Z population. A must read! 😊
