Henry I needed a miracle and I knew of only one man who could give it to me. My brother was dying and the only person who might be able to save him was the president of the Soldiers of Fortune MC. I was afraid to approach the man, but I was terrified I'd lose my brother if I didn't.
The world I found myself in was one I never imagined existed. It upended my reality in more ways than one. Between car bombings, getting kidnapped, and people getting shot, discovering shifters were real should of shocked me to the core, but finding out that Gunner, the sexy vice-president of the motorcycle club, was my mate might top everything. I just wished I could believe him.
Gunner Dr. Henry Nash was everything that was good and perfect in this world and he was my mate. I was a bear shifting biker with an intense dislike of law enforcement and anyone who believed they could tell me what to do. My world was hard, dangerous, and violent, and I certainly didn't want to drag Henry into it.
But there were forces at work who seem fixated in Henry. With his life in danger, I have no choice but to expose him to a world that might very well get him killed and if a bullet doesn't get me first, Henry just might when he learns I've been keeping secrets.

I didn't like this one as much as the first. I like my mate stories where everyone is on board and no pushing away or denying and while we don't get exactly that here, Henry does take his sweet time deciding he wants to be with Gunner and that annoyed me.
The other issue I had we the ending. It just sort of ends, no I was disappointed in that. Hopefully the next one will be better.
Well, I sure didn't expect this one to be so... fluffy? It was an interesting read with a lot of questions answered that we didn't even know we needed to know... you know? LOL!!!
I guess it was Gunner and Henry's story, but there were many circles inside of circles in this one that gave it more of a "group" feel than a couple feel. NO, I didn't mean that kind of "group" feel! *snort* ;p
Up next is Butch's story and how he gets his man, and it looks like I am jumping right into Absolution and we will see what we will see...
Gunner and Henry. Two very different people, from two different sides of the tracks but put together by fate. I would love to see more from this group??? But if this is where this ends I ok with that.
So I’m giving this 3 stars because the writing was good and I actually liked the story but I did not like this one as much as the first one. I didn’t feel the connection between the two MCs at all. I felt like their romance was put on the back burner and all the drama was front and center. I liked Gunner enough but sometimes Henry rubbed be the wrong way. I read a review that said the beginning should be re-written when Henry first goes into the clubhouse and at first I didn’t understand what the reviewer was saying but I completely understand now. I agree, the first chapter where Henry goes into the clubhouse and describes it as disgusting and smelly and theres sex everywhere…well I thought he was talking about a completely different club. I’ve never read a MC book where the author made the main MC they were writing about have a disgusting clubhouse. It just doesn’t make sense. Every other MC book the clubhouse that the main characters live in is always described as nicer than any other club, that wasn’t the case here and so I agree that it should have been re-written so that the Fortune clubhouse was seen in a better light. Anyway. I didn’t enjoy this as much but I will keep reading the rest of the series.

"I'll be a good mate, you'll see."
(ENG) I have to say that these books leave me with more questions than answers. I often found myself struggling to follow the plot, as some events didn't make sense or seem logical. However, they could be a guilty pleasure. I'm still undecided about whether I'll continue with the series. The characters are intriguing, but I'm not sure if it'll be worth it.
I really like Aja Foxx books but this is to inconsistent with the story and the characters she intended to created. Maybe she can fix the beginning of the book where she describes the club, how it looks, and the things that are happening, sex everywhere with everybody, if she can want to mix a doctor and a high class people, or even just mix it with normal and decent people, she claims in the voice of some characters that they are not as bad a people think but the beginning of the book don't give that impression, not really as good as the first one, the idea of this book could have been a good one
For some reason, these stories in Soldier of Fortune appeal to me. Perhaps it is just my mood or the weather. The characters are interesting and in various states of development. The plot line is a bit unique and the story fast moving. The Worldbuilding or context is crap. There are holes and inconsistencies all throughout the story. I am choosing to ignore and/or fill in as I choose. This in itself is a bit unusual, as I find holes and inconsistent facts are something that usually drag me out of the story. I can only imagine what these stories would be like if the author paid attention to the details.
Gunner and Henry's story was everything I could have hoped for. Henry is the emergency room doctor that took care of Bug in the first book. Gunner, vice president of the Soldiers of Fortune MC, is his mate and they have a bumpy ride in store until they get to their HEA. From sick twin brothers to bombs and finally a huge family revelation, this book picks up from the first book and continues with this group of shifter bikers in gritty, exciting and hot 🔥🔥 glory! I'm completely addicted at this point and can't wait to continue this series. Definitely a new favorite!
The sweet Dr Nash of the first book in the series finds himself in a bit of trouble. He also has a family life and death situation and ends up at the Soldier's of Fortune MC looking for help. Little did he know he would get more than help. Gunner the VP of the MC discovered his mate in the strangest way. Some obstacles to their forever mates moment but the got their in the end. A good MC shifter and romance story.
Gunner learns that the doctor from the first book who treated Bug and helped him get away is his mate. The man is beautiful and brilliant, and Gunner become torn between telling Henry who he is or letting him be. But when his life is threatened, Gunner's protective instincts kick in and he'd do anything for his mate. The secondary characters are wonderful and this book adds to the world building from the first. A good read!
This was a perfect sequel! I absolutely loved it start to finish. Gunner and henry were so different but they just meshed well in a chemistry that practically flew off the pages. I loved their random fact back and forth.
Well thought out and completely satisfying, i would recommend this book all day.
This is a fairly plot heavy book which relies on characters behaving a certain way... And those characters don't work that great. Some of the decisions don't really make sense. But I guess the book needed to be wrapped up. It's just a little disappointing that the pieces didn't fit the right way. There's some good moments in the book. I wish we got to explore the characters more.
Having read both books in this series I can honestly say that they are really well written and the characters have multiple dimensions to them. They're funny in places with good action scenes as well as some very steamy sex scenes.
I am really liking this author! They write great characters with a good storyline without too much drama and angst in either the suspense/mystery element or in the romance. I really love how the doctor was a good mix of sweet and nerdy but totally held his own - great series!!
This one was not as good as the first one and the drama was so over the top and unbelievable. I pretty sure I only read this one for Big...and I'm pretty sure if I read the next one it will be for Bug as well. Definitely need more Bug.
When you need to dig deeper to find the truth - for reader s that want to uncover mysteries!
Henry a doctor trying to solve his brother terminal illness. Henry has a biological father President of Motorcycle Club (MC). The twist and turns will surprise you MM romance
I am highly enjoying this series. This author is very great a making the characters and plots really enjoyable to read. I'm so glad that I found this author & series. I'm looking forward to reading more from this author.😊
Two of my favourite genres, shifters and bikers. Loved this second book in the series it’s very good . Still think Bug is my favourite character though. Highly recommended series
Gotta admit I enjoyed the first one in this series more. Maybe it was because the MC’s didn’t pull me in like Bug did in the first one. Henry and Gunner were ok but didn’t really feel connected to them.
Funny thing I missed this book and I have no idea how. When I was done with series I was questioning some things about Henry and Gunner lol. So glad I still had this gem to go back to. Ahh I adore this series and like I said on others I really hope it continues.
This book was really good. Henry is trying to find his biological dad to help his twin brother who has lukemia. He ends up meeting gunner who happens to be his mate.
I didn’t quite like this as much as I did the first one in the series, but I did really enjoy it. I loved both of the MCs, although I got frustrated with Gunner a bit throughout the book. I did think the ending was a bit rushed and I’m not convinced that everything was resolved at the end. Overall, a really addition to the series. I’m hoping that we get Butch’s story next.
Really good follow up to book one. I liked Gunner and Henry plus the storyline revolving around Butch and Henry’s twin brother was pretty good. Very enjoyable.
