I'm an author and an intuitive, writing primarily about tarot, creativity and manifesting. My latest project, HBO's Game of Thrones Tarot, was published in March 2018, along with The Ultimate Guide to Divination in April. I practise and teach tarot at Psychic Sisters within Selfridges, London; Crystal Moon Emporium in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear; and privately, via Skype. This August, 3-5, I teach at The Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, New York.

My background is in illustrated book publishing, commissioning authors (so I know what it's iike to be on both sides of the industry); and I co-edited Kindred Spirit magazine for a year or two. I've also worked as a copy-writer for publishers and the BBC, and work as a ghostwriter.

I hope you enjoy my books and I look forward to hearing from you.

description Back in my early to mid-teens, I was VERY into the occult, Wiccan. Fortune telling etc. When I saw this book up on NetGalley, I thought t would be fun to revisit my past and maybe learn a bit more about Divination in the process.

description

This book was a fun read for sure. It was well laid out and easy to follow and had loads of hand-drawn graphics that livened things up. It is broken up into seven different chapters (INTRODUCING DIVINATION, ORACLES OF THE ANCIENTS, READING THE TRACES, PALMISTRY, FORTUNE-TELLING WITH CARDS, NUMEROLOGY, THE MYSTIC GAZE). Each chapter has some useful information with little insights and tips. I especially liked the crystal section with the various rocks/crystals and their meanings/uses and the Tarot section. I don't really have much more to say about this book. It would make a perfect gift for anyone interested in all things occult. description

This book looked to be so much fun, and it was ok, it just didn't live up to it's potential. The information seemed to just scratch the surface, overall I would say it was more of a very brief overview. I also had an incredibly difficult time reading the format provided. It was not quite what I was hoping for.

------Before reading------

The title alone had me giddy, I instantly thought of Harry Potter...I'm so excited to read this, sounds like so much fun!!

I liked this book overall. It occupies the space between party trick and deep dive, in a way of speaking. I never thought about divination using crystals and the section on runes was really interesting. However, I found the numerology section to be a bit unclear. The answers could've been broken down more based on Destiny, Soul, Personality, etc rather than having you read the entire description under the corresponding number each time.

I think this would be a great gift for someone interested in the topic.

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

I had no idea of what to expect from this book, but it really does do what it says on the tin. It's a very gentle walk-through guide into divination for beginners.
I knew about some of the techniques that are covered here, but there are still a great many that I either didn't know about or has added some real in-depth information.
Very easy to read and understand. The illustrations are just gorgeous.

A very good guide to divination techniques some well known and some unusual. Interesting hints and a good description of each technique.

I reviewed this in digital format via Netgalley. Personally I would like to see a print version of this book for my own collection. It is a nice overview of a great number of divination tools, some of which I am quite unfamiliar with. (Like scrying with egg white) I look forward to trying them out.
The illustrations are inviting and frequently colorful.
The directions are complete and easy to follow.

I appreciated sections for recording my readings and observations and a nice list of resources.
I have already checked out more on the author's website.

Basic connotations in terms of touching base on each subject, more of a scope or a brief look into the world of divination. I do like its simplicity though, cost wasnt worth the book itself though.

This book covers a plethora of divination topics. Numerology, Runes, Palmistry and Scrying all are included in this extra large book. Generally I'm not big on this size book in a soft cover but this one really needs this extra volume to provide the visual impact needed for explaining these crafts. The section on crystal reading discusses working with pendulums as well as a deep look at what each stone means. There is a large photo as well as the zodiac signs associated with each stone. There is a crystal directory sheet that the author recommend the reader use with a pendulum to find the stone that speaks to them. Then use the guide to look up the divinatory meaning of the stone.

I tried this out and found the rose quartz, a stone of Taurus and Virgo showing love and reconciliation. It talked about an opportunity to heal old wounds and practicing self love. Something surely I need to address at the present.

The next section in the book was related to working with Runes. It discusses the origins of The Elder Futhark, The Anglo-Saxon Futhorc, The Younger Futhark and the Northumbrian Runes. Then delves into to each of the rules with a meaning, an interpretation, the letter sound and even a Tarot card association. The last, not something I have seen before. I have been doing a great deal of work lately with FEHU the rune of material wealth. A friend of mine, owns and operations a site called Primitive Witchery where you can find an assortment of items related to pulling the power of these runes into your daily life. I recommend working with her if you have the chance.

My favorite chapter of the book is the chapter on Scrying. It covers, water scrying, candle, flame and smoke scrying, and of course mirror scrying. I have spent many years reading photos and found that my active interest and practice of scrying in all sorts of mediums has helped my readings improve immensely. The key to this is to keep a well documented log of your readings. This book provides an example page of how to log your visions and if you intend to do any type of readings of this manner professionally I would highly recommend beginning with this type of log and just do readings through out the day/week. Practice on friends and family or even on yourself. You can never have too much practice at this.

I won't go through each section of the book but I will tell you the chapters that follow include, Teacup readings, Palmistry, Tarot/Playing Card reading, and Numerology. This is a great getting started book to learn about the assorted methods of divination. I highly recommend checking it out.

**Thank you to Quarto Publishing Group-Fair Winds Press

and NetGalley for the ARC with the understanding that any review provided will be my honest opinion of the book.**

I really enjoyed this book. I actually made my whole family participate in the numerology section. We were surprised by how accurate the descriptions of each one of the numbers were. I have always been interested in reading tea leaves and palms but in the past a lot of the books I have read have been boring or hard to interpret. Liz Dean made this one so fun and easy to navigate that I absolutely want to buy a physical copy for my home. I want to try all the different methods. 5 stars, 5 stars, 5 stars!!!! That is all.

The sections most useful to me are those on runes and palmistry, but it covers way more than that too.

For an all rounder basic guide, this not so enormous book is a rather insightful guide for beginners or curious minds...even if you have some inklings already, I find it hits the spot quite nicely.

I absolutely love this book. I've explored nearly every form of divination listed in the book like runes, dowsing, tarot, card divination, tarot. There were also some that I;ve

For instance, the book goes more in depth of rune reading. It breifly shows a chart that gives the reader the outline of different types of runes: how many are in the "deck", the different origins of the runes, and, of course, the name of the type of runes.

I have no shame when i say this: I became interested in tea leaf reading because of Harry Potter. I haven't found many books on tea leaf reading, much less a single book on tea leaf reading that was worth buying, but this book tells you enough about it. And for those of you who aren't tea-drinkers, The Ultimate Guide to Divination also instructs the reader on coffee and salt reading.

To cover so many different forms of divination in a single book, and, on top of that, to go into enough detail to give you the over all picture, is a size-able feat.

I also learned that some of the forms of divination that I've never been interested in, like palmistry and numerology, but opened me up to others.

This book is facinating. If you are interested in any kind of Divination practice this book will really be big help to you. The book covers tips and techniques for everything from runes to tarot cards. I was given a digital copy but will be getting the paper copy to add to my collection of books. This will make a great reference book for anyone.

Some things I knew like crystals and cards, but then there are some things I have never heard of like scrying with egg whites. I love how this book gets you started but also can help you along the way in your journey into divination practices. There are tons of illustrations as well in the book so you can get better idea of some practices.

I received this book from the Author or Publisher via Netgalley.com to read and review.

I found this book to be good when looking for an introduction to divination as a whole and having a look at the different forms instead of getting multiple 101 books. Some topics are discussed in one or two pages or a chapter in itself.
